"Are you ever going to tell me where we're going?"

Eleanor turned her head back and giggled, "It's a surprise!"

"Eleanor..," Eva fidgeted. "You.. you know it's not really safe alone out here.. Please just tell me where we're going.."

Eleanor huffed, "You're gonna meet my daddy!"

"Your.. daddy? But I thoug-," Eleanor cut her off.

"You'll love him, Eva! He's the nicest daddy ever!"

Eleanor tugged on her hand, pulling her along quicker.

"Eleanor! You're gonna fall if you're not careful.."

"I'll be fi-," Eleanor cut off as she stumbled over a pebble.

She quickly righted herself before continuing on, albeit at a slightly slowed pace.

"Uhmm.. I don't think it'll be too much longer!," Eleanor exclaimed cheerfully.

Eva immediately shushed her, "Not so loud! We have to be careful.."

They continued on in... relative silence, avoiding larger open areas at Eva's caution.

"I think we're here!," Eleanor put her free hand around her mouth, "Daddy! Where are yooou?"

Eva immediately cringed at her friend's shrill calling, tugging slightly at her hand.

"Dadddddy! I'm back!"

Eva knew what to expect, but the tremor that went through the ground still frightened her to the very core. The sounds of the deep facilitated breathing did nothing to help that fear, either.

Eleanor's Daddy wasn't nearly as bulky or as scary as some of the other... Daddies... But, the sight of him still made her.. weary. The things they were capable of were the things of nightmares.

He just stood there, and breathed.

"We finally found you, daddy!," Eleanor giggled.

Eleanor squeezed her hand, and drug Eva up to her daddy.

"Daddy, this is my friend I told you about! It's Eva! I've told her ALL about you, and she was so excited to meet you!"

Eva side-eyed Eleanor for a second, flicked her eyes to the Daddy, and quickly dropped them to the floor.

As far away as the memories felt, her Mother had always taught her politeness, and as frightening as he was, he meant something to Eleanor. She knew she couldn't lose her.. not again.

Eva pulled her head up, and smiled, "It's nice to finally meet you."
