Jim could not get through the opening in the forcefield but he did not have time anyway because Hammer arrived back in the brig. "Okay, you people have refused to cooperate," he said. "Now, it's time to get ugly. Bring the admiral and…Tony."

Solan, Doctor McCoy, and Spock were the only ones left in their cells as they watched helplessly while Jim and Tony were taken from the brig. Hammer stopped in front of their cells. "Don't worry, I'll get to the three of you soon," he said.

Solan frowned. He waited until they were all gone. "Spock, we have to get out of here," he said.

"I am not certain how to accomplish that," Spock replied. "If you have any suggestions, I am ready to listen."

"I don't have any ideas. I have nothing to stop a force field."

Bones took out his favorite instrument which he kept in his boot now. It was the laser scalpel which he had used more than once in difficult situations. "I have one idea," he said.

"What's that?" Solan asked.

"My laser scalpel."

"How did you manage to sneak that in here?"

"The same way our admiral snuck his communicator in. The same way you snuck in all those weapons you have hidden that have no bearing on this situation."

Solan folded his arms. "How do you know I have weapons?"

Bones shook his head. "Don't patronize me."

Bones aimed the laser scalpel at the forcefield and turned his face. He activated the scalpel and sparks flew as it made contact with the forcefield. He looked long enough to aim it at one of the emitters. With that, even more sparks flew, and then the forcefield began to falter and finally stopped. Bones stepped out of his cell and then turned off the forcefields from Spock and Solan. "Now what?" Bones asked.

"We must attempt to help the admiral," Spock said.

Hammer took Jim and Tony to another area of the station where he was masterminding his plans. Just as they arrived, Jarvis was ready. He escaped from his tethers. Tony barely managed to get inside the suit, but was injured before he did. Jim grabbed the weapon Hammer had before he could short-circuit Tony's suit again. Tony managed to get a repulsor blast up the barrel of the weapon as Hammer got it away from Jim, but Jim grabbed Hammer again. Tony took out the guards so that they could get Hammer under control.

"Where is Ivan controlling this station from?" Tony asked.

Hammer laughed slightly. "Do you really think I'm going to tell you?" he asked.

Tony glared at him. "You thought you were going to make us talk…maybe I'll make you talk."

"We'll give the others time to find him," Jim said.

Ajah and Artie had gotten into the control center, but Ivan was not there. Artie went to one of the computers to try and get control of the station himself while Ajah kept watch. "If I can get into the system with this computer, I can stop him," Artie said. "But it won't be easy if that guy is as intelligent as we've been told."

"I don't know a thing about doing anything like this," Ajah replied. "But I'll make sure no one comes in here."

"Thanks."

Hammer almost managed to get away from Jim again as he shoved Tony who was barely able to stand in his suit because of the injury to his leg. However, he could use his repulsors from a sitting position, but they were not much good as Jim was in a struggle with their opponent. Jim finally got control of Hammer again, but he did not seem one bit upset about that fact. Hammer's smug smile let them know he had some sort of plan even if he was in a situation like that.

"Tony," Ivan's Russian accented voice said over the intercom. "You only think you have won."

Suddenly, the gravity in the station was non-existent. Jim began floating along with everyone else, and that gave Hammer his chance to get away from him. Tony activated his repulsors but could not control his flight very well because of his injured leg. Jim went after Hammer, but he could not activate his suit yet, so he was not having an easy time pursuing him.

Artie was having trouble staying at the computer, but he activated the straps of the chair he sat in to hold him in. Ajah could not stay down as he was still on guard duty for Artie. "This is getting worse all the time," Ajah said. "I hate being weightless."

"I sure don't love it," Artie replied. "I'm nowhere near getting control of this though."

Scotty finally found his way to the engineering section of the station, but being weightless was making his intentions to sabotage even more difficult as well. Of course, getting into the system of a station such as Caleb IV was not an easy task…no easier than Yorktown.

Tony was feeling the pain in his leg even worse as he was trying to control his repulsor-driven flight. He could not help Jim at the moment as he was pursuing Hammer further down the corridor. Hammer still had a weapon with him. Jim barely managed to avoid the shot and spotted a weapons locker where he retrieved a phaser rifle.

Jim went back to Tony, who was floating against the wall. "I think we should get the others out of the brig while he's distracted," Jim said.

"That's probably a good idea," Tony replied. "But we need to get him back."

"With more people, that might be easier. Plus, Bones can help you."

Jim retrieved his communicator from his boot. "Can anyone hear me?" he asked.

"Admiral, it's good to hear your voice," Scotty said. "This system is just as complicated as Yorktown, Sir. Safety protocols are gonna make it difficult or impossible to sabotage."

"Just keep trying, Scotty."

"I'm still trying to get in as well," Artie said. "I'm at a computer terminal and Ajah is here guarding for me."

"Admiral, the doctor, Solan, and I are out of the brig," Spock said.

"Great," Jim replied. "We need Bones down here. Tony is wounded. You should all be careful. Hammer could try to turn off life support systems."

"I can get there and activate your helmet for you, Sir," Scotty said.

"No, just keep working," Jim replied. "I can activate the helmet. We have to get control of this station from him or something worse is going to happen. We need to seal those docking bays so no more ships can get in. Bones, how far are you guys from the brig?"

"Not far," Bones replied. "I can wait there for you."

"Do that. I'll get Tony to you."

Jim was glad they were weightless as he was trying to move Tony toward the brig. Jim's communicator chirped as they were on their way. "Kirk here," he answered.

"Admiral, more Klingon ships have arrived," Grakar said. "And they are not ours."

"The rogue Klingons?"

"It is likely."

"Why would they be helping Hammer, and how would they find out about this?" Jim remembered Hammer saying he had sent out a message. "Then again, he sent out a message to get help."

"The rogue Klingons and Romulans would jump at a chance like this," Grakar said.

"Just what we need," Bones said as he was hearing the conversation. "A bunch of hostile Klingons and Romulans. We should get out of here, Jim."

"We can't just leave this station in their hands," Jim informed him. "What we need are more weapons. We're gonna have to fight this in our own way."

"I was afraid you would say that."

"Grakar, get a message to the Enterprise that we need them."

"They are already on the way," Grakar replied.

"Good." Jim and Tony came around the corner to the brig where Bones was waiting, and Solan and Spock had obtained weapons.

Tony opened his suit so Bones could take care of his wound all the while keeping from floating away. "We have to have a plan," Tony said.

"We do have one," Jim replied. "We're gonna fight the Klingons and Romulans like we always do."

"Jump in the middle and work our way out," Bones said shaking his head.

"That seems to be the only way that works," Spock replied. "Admiral, what would you like me to do?"

Jim was thinking. This was one of those times when he had no idea what he was supposed to do. "We still have to locate that guy who's controlling the station," he said. "But we have to take care of those Klingons or they'll be too much to handle if they get spread out in this station."

"I agree."

"I'll find Hammer and Ivan," Tony said. "You guys know more about those guys than I do. You go ahead and do your thing, and I'm gonna find him."

"That may be the wisest decision, Admiral," Spock said. "If we all concentrate on what is familiar to us, perhaps we can defeat these enemies."

Bones finished repairing the wound on Tony's leg. "It's still gonna be sore but it'll be better than it was," Bones said.

"Thanks," Tony replied. He stood up and got back into his suit. "Let's take this station back."

"Don't you need someone to go with you?" Jim asked.

"I can handle this. Like you said, we don't need to let the enemies outnumber us."

"Be careful."

Tony activated his flight repulsors and headed back down the corridor. Jim looked at his team. "Let's get to the hangar bays," he said. "It's obvious that they'll be coming from there. We need all the weapons we can carry."

"We need bat'leths," Solan declared.

"We'll take some. Let's go."

They checked the map of the station, and just as they were about to head toward the hangar bays, the gravity suddenly kicked back in. Jim lay there on the floor where he had fallen a moment. "I'm glad we weren't far off the floor," he said.

They got up and began running toward the hangar bays, meeting opposition as they went, but they were no longer using stun as the ones they were meeting were certainly not using stun. They stopped at the corner of the corridor which went around the hangar bays. They could plainly hear ships entering the hangars.

"So, when do we start doing something?" Solan asked.

"We can't do anything as long as they're in the ship," Jim replied. "We'll try to stop them here rather than let them get out into the station." His communicator chirped. "Kirk here."

"Admiral, the warbirds have entered the station," Grakar said. "I am certain that we cannot land."

"Most likely not. We're waiting for them."

"Admiral," Artie said over the com. "I think I can open a hangar for Grakar."

"Good. Do that."

"If he doesn't realize that I'm doing it and stop me, I'll have it open in about one minute, but they have to hurry."

"Stay connected to Grakar. I have to go. They're about to come out of the hangar bays."

Jim closed his communicator and put it away. Then he saw a Klingon step out of the hangar bay. "Here they come," he whispered to the others.

Jim did not recognize that Klingon, but he supposed they were all the same. However, everyone who emerged was not a Klingon, but some Romulans as well…and even a Nausicaan. Bones rolled his eyes. "Well, that sure ruined the neighborhood," he whispered.

"Our suits will still work for that," Jim replied. "Ready?"

"Ready as we'll ever be."

Jim stepped out into the corridor. "Stop right there!" he demanded.

The Klingons and others were surprised at his arrival, but they all turned toward him: two Klingons, two Romulans, and a Nausicaan. Jim felt like they were severely outnumbered, but they had to do something anyway. "Admiral Kirk!" the first Klingon said. "We finally meet!"

Jim always found it disturbing when someone he had never met knew his name. "Drop your weapons!" he said as his team came out around him.

"Klingons do not surrender! Will you fight with honor?"

"I don't care about honor right now. We're taking this station back!"

"We will see!"

Suddenly, the Klingons and others scattered. Jim fired down the corridor but it was too late. He had to dodge a laser blast from the Klingons's weapon. He and Solan were hiding behind the wall of the next corridor. "Now what?" Solan asked.

"You got any ideas?" Jim asked.

"Not really."

Spock and Bones were on the other side of the corridor. "Maybe we should make our way around behind them," Bones said.

"If we did that, we would be firing toward our own comrades," Spock replied.

Jim started to fire down the corridor again but he did not see any of their enemies. "Where did they go?" he asked out loud.

Solan looked behind them. "Could be anywhere," he said. "How do they always know you?"

"These are some of the rogue Klingons. They still hate me for helping the peace process between the Klingons and the Federation."

Jim motioned for Spock and Bones to come over to them. When they were there, they all kept watch both ways. "We have to find them without getting shot," Jim said.

"Admiral, I believe this situation has become more dangerous than before," Spock replied. "But there is another way into the hangars."

"Where?" Jim asked.

"We can get in through the access tubes."

"Great! Show me."

They all hurried across the corridor, still seeing no sign of the intruders. They got to the access tube and crawled in. "What do we do once we get in there?" Bones asked. "Just work our way out?"

"You said it," Jim replied.

Tony was still trying to track down Justin Hammer and Ivan Vanko. "Jarvis, you must be able to find something," he said.

"It is very difficult to get readings inside this station," Jarvis replied. "It is heavily shielded, even inside."

"Well, can you detect anywhere that there is a whole lot of computers or technology?"

"Not at the moment."

"Heat signatures?"

"I am detecting heat signatures but they are near the hangar bays. I believe our allies have found those they sought."

"If we can detect them, why can't we find the ones we're looking for?"

"I am not certain, Sir, unless they are masking their presence somehow."

Tony had not thought of that. "Activate that black hole technology, Jarvis," he said.

"Activated, Sir."

Tony landed on the floor then. "So they can't track us now," he said.

"That is the idea."

"Hammer will have to come out and find me. Can we establish communication with him?"

"No, Sir."

"Then there has to be some place in this station that is like a hidden area to the scanners. See if you see any voids in the scanners."

Jarvis was silent a moment. "When analyzing the entire station, there is one area of the station that seems to be blocked off from the scanners. It is a small area in the lower deck."

Tony could see the layout on his display. "That has to be where they are," he said. "Make sure we're masked with the blackhole technology."

"Yes, Sir."

Tony activated his repulsors again and headed toward the area Jarvis had pointed out. It was the only place they could be hiding…

Jim and the others had made their way to the hangars. They climbed out of the access tube which was in a corner of the hangar bays. Jim hurried out and kept watch while the others exited the access tube. As they made their way around the hangar bays, they realized the Klingons were not there.

"Admiral, it is safe to say that our enemies have made their way into the space station," Spock said.

"Which makes this even more dangerous," Bones said.

Jim grabbed his communicator. "Everyone, be aware, there are more enemies on the station," he said. "Klingons, Romulans, and Nausicaans."

Artie looked around at Ajah as he was still sitting at the computer trying to get control of the station. "What should we do?" Artie asked.

Ajah was not sure what they should do. "Admiral, should we continue with our mission here?" he asked into the communicator.

Jim was not sure. "Be on the lookout, Ajah," he said. "They may be able to track down where Artie is trying to get into the system."

"I'm watching, Admiral. If it gets too dangerous, get out of there. We'll find another way. And I think maybe we should all be together anyway. This is gonna become a fight of survival."

Tony had heard that transmission. He had not met any Romulans or Nausicaans, but he supposed if he saw them, he would know it. Scotty was still in the engineering section alone, so he crawled back into the access tube and turned on his display to study the layout of the station so maybe he could figure out more to do to sabotage the controls of the station.

"I think I may know where Hammer and Vanko are," Tony said. "We've found a void in the scanners where we think they may be hiding."

"Are you checking that out?" Jim asked.

"I'm on my way there now. It's in the lower deck."

"Let us know."

Jim looked at the others with him. "Where would those Klingons go?" he asked.

"That's a good question," Solan replied.

"We would need to know their goal," Spock said. "If they intend to help the ones who have taken over this station, it is likely that they may be on their way to their location."

"Klingons have been trying to take over this station for years," Jim said. "I can't see them sharing with some weapons dealer from the past."

"I believe you are correct, Admiral. They may be taking their opportunity to overpower him."

Jim just stood there a moment. "That guy knows nothing about the Klingons or the others with them…and you know what that means."

Solan's mouth dropped open slightly. "They'll bring in the others," he said.

"Jim, we better get outa here," Bones said. "We'll be trapped in here."

"We can't get out, Bones," Jim replied. "We can't beam out."

"We could if Artie or Scotty got control of those shields."

"Right. Which he hasn't been able to do."

"That's why they got away from us and aren't concerned," Solan declared. "They know they can take us whenever they want, and then they'll have you like they've always wanted."

"Do not forget that Mister Stark is on his way there," Spock reminded them.

"He may be flying into a trap!" Jim said. He grabbed his communicator. "Mister Stark!"
