Jim and Bones were starting to come around now. "What's happening?" Jim asked as he could finally talk.

"More Klingons have come onto the station," Spock said. "Solan and Tony have gone to try and find them. However, Grakar and some others are also going that way. We have more Klingons here helping to guard this room, and Artie is trying to decipher a way to reactivate Tony's suit."

"Oh. Is that all?"

"Ajah has been taken to the Enterprise in serious condition."

Bones was upset about that. "How serious?" he asked. "I gotta get up from here."

"It was quite serious, although I do not know the details."

Bones was trying to move but he still could not move much. "How much longer will this last?"

"Not much longer, according to Mister Stark. He is up and functioning normally now. He intends to use the paralyzer on the Klingons."

"He better be careful with that," Jim said. "He'll paralyze our own allies."

"I'm sure they have changed their plans by now. They believe the Klingons are heading for the central controls."

Jim grunted. "We have to get up from here!" he said.

"Admiral, you cannot," Spock replied.

Admiral Shapel stood beside Jim also guarding. "How will we ever get this station back under control?" he asked.

"It may take struggle, but we will be victorious."

"You guys never give up, do you?"

"We can't give up," Jim said. "We're not gonna let a bunch of criminals and Klingons have this station."

Suddenly, Ivan Vanko was loose. He tackled Spock before he could react, and they were in a struggle. He punched Spock but found out that Spock was tougher than he thought. Spock tried to do a Vulcan pinch, but Vanko grabbed his arm and would have broken it if Spock did not have tough bones. He broke Vanko's hold on him, but then he head-butted Spock, knocking him down. Jim was able to get onto his stomach and was dragging himself that way.

"Ivan!" Hammer yelled.

Vanko looked around and saw Jim, and he kicked him in the face. Then he quickly turned back to Spock who was coming at him again. Admiral Shapel was trying to aim at Vanko but could not get a clear shot because he would hit Spock as they struggled. However, Vanko managed to get over to the door and get out as he knocked Spock down. Shapel ran to the door but Vanko was going around the corner of the next corridor by the time he got there. "He's gone!" he said.

Jim was trying to get himself up, and he was finding it easier as he sat up beside the wall. "Warn the others!" he said.

Spock grabbed the communicator and told Solan that Vanko was loose. Hammer laughed. "You guys don't have a chance!" he declared.

Jim finally got to his feet. "You shut your mouth!" he said. "Or I'm gonna shut it for you!" He started trying to walk as Bones was also getting to his feet. "We have to help Solan and the others somehow." He looked at Tony's suit. "The suit won't work at all, will it?"

"I do not believe so," Spock replied. "It has been deactivated."

Jim looked at Bones. "You need to get to the Enterprise to help Ajah," he said.

Bones nodded. "I think I'm ready now," he said.

Jim opened his communicator. "Enterprise."

"Enterprise here," Ashley replied.

"Beam Doctor McCoy to the Enterprise."

"Stand by."

Jim watched as Bones was transported to the Enterprise, and then he looked at Spock. "Can we get that suit working?" he asked.

Spock walked over to the suit and scanned it with his tricorder. "I believe we can, Admiral," he said. "However, I do not believe it would be easy to control."

"I'll deal with that if I can get into it. What about our own? Can we get them going?"

"I have not had time to examine that possibility."

"Believe me, I know."

Spock began working on the Ironman suit and soon, he had Jarvis "awake". "Can you make this suit work again?" Spock asked.

"I may be able to," Jarvis replied.

Spock waited, and finally the suit came back to life. Jim walked over to it. "Can I use this suit to get it to Mister Stark and help them?" he asked.

The suit opened, and Jim just stood there a moment, but when he walked into it, it adjusted and conformed to him. "Wow, this thing fits like a glove," he said, and then the mask closed. "Wish me luck," he said through the synthesizer.

"Good luck, Admiral," Spock replied.

Jim walked over to the door. "So, how do you operate this thing?" he asked.

"I believe you should let me do that, Sir," Jarvis replied. "Put your feet together, and hands by your side."

Jim blew out a breath and did that, and then the repulsors started, and he could definitely feel the power of them. "Whoa!" he said, but he was soon travelling down the corridor faster than he liked.

Solan and Tony Stark arrived at the corridor where the central controls were, and they met up with the Klingons who had gotten out of the hangar bays. Solan aimed with his phaser rifle and took out the first Klingon, but the others were already entering the control center. Solan and Tony got around the corner of the corridor as the Klingons were now firing at them from the doorway of the center. "Isn't there another way into this place?" Tony asked.

"I don't know," Solan replied. "I've never spent much time at the central controls."

"There has to be another way in. I'll see if I can find it."

Tony ran down the corridor at the side of the central control, and stopped at the corner. He looked down the next corridor which went around the back of the control center. When he looked around the corner, there was a Klingon standing right on the other side of the corner. Tony was startled and jerked back but the Klingon grabbed his arm that was holding the phaser. He tried to jerk Tony around the corner and land a blow to his face, but Tony blocked that and kicked the Klingon backward, but he found that that would not break the Klingon's grip on his arm, and he fell along with the Klingon. The Klingon then grabbed his kut'luch and tried to stab him, but Tony grabbed his arm to hold it away from him. He had to do this with only one hand because the Klingon was still holding his other arm down. Tony strained to hold the Klingon's blade back, but the Klingon was putting his weight against him.

Solan suddenly came around the corner. He shot the Klingon from behind. Tony shoved him off and lay there a moment before he got up. He grabbed the kut'luch from the floor. "I think I'll keep this," he said.

"Good idea," Solan replied.

Just then, another Klingon came from the doorway down the corridor. Solan and Tony barely avoided laser fire. "So, how do we get in there?" Tony asked, but he got his answer as he saw his suit coming down the corridor. "Jarvis!"

The suit landed, and the mask raised up to reveal Jim. "Hi," he said. "I thought you could probably use this thing."

"Yeah."

The suit opened up, and Jim stepped out. "It's good to see you, Admiral," Solan said. "We can't get in there because of those Klingons."

"I can now," Tony said with his now-synthesized voice.

Jim activated his own helmet. "You go that way, and we'll go back this other way."

"Deal."

Jim and Solan went back to the other corridor as Grakar and his other team were arriving. "Let's go get 'em," Jim said.

Grakar took his bat'leth off his back and deflected a phaser shot as they were advancing down the corridor. Another Klingon came from the control room and took his own bat'leth off his back. Jim and Solan looked at Grakar knowing what was about to happen. They went on down the corridor to the door of the control room, but they were greeted by phaser fire which did not last long as Tony had entered the room. He took out the Klingons who were left and then landed. Jim looked toward Grakar and the other Klingon who were in a bat'leth battle.

Jim and Solan went on into the room where some of the technicians had survived and were now trying to get control of the station again. Jim's communicator chirped. "Kirk here," he answered.

"Admiral, more Klingons are landing in the hangar bays," Spock said.

Jim looked toward the technicians. "How long before you can get this thing under control again?" he asked.

"I don't know, Sir," one of them answered.

Jim looked at Tony. "We have to find Ivan Vanko too," he said.

Tony thought about that. "He could have gone back to the ship they came in," he said.

"Could he break into this station from there?"

"I don't know, but we have to do something about those coming in anyway."

"Right."

"We don't need to leave these people alone with him on the loose though. I'll go take care of the newcomers. You just take care of this."

Jim nodded. "Good luck."

"Thanks."

Tony took off and flew down the corridor. He ran into some Klingons before he got to the hangar bay. He took out two of them, but one of them tackled him, even in his suit. Tony was surprised at the Klingon's strength. They struggled, and then two others came to help. As one of them started to punch him, he closed his mask, causing the Klingon to hit the hard metal. Tony heard the crack of bones, and then he got his hand up and ended the Klingon's wail before he was done with it. Then he hit the other two Klingons with a blast from his repulsors.

Tony got up then and met three more Klingons. He did not give them time to attack him, and he went on to the hangar bay. As he entered, he could see the ship that Hammer and Vanko had come there in. "Jarvis, are you detecting anyone on that ship?" he asked.

"No, Sir," Jarvis replied. "However, there is a magnetic field blocking scans."

"Around the ship?"

"Yes, Sir. It is being generated from inside."

"Then he's expecting us." Tony got behind one of the other ships in the hangar and took out the communicator he had started using, but he could get nothing but static. He supposed that magnetic field was causing that. "How far does that field extend?"

"Not any further than the outside corridor."

"What about those Klingon ships? Anyone onboard them?"

"I cannot scan them."

"Same field?"

"It is similar."

Tony looked at the ship. "Well, I suppose I can just try and destroy it," he said. "Where's its weakest point?"

Jarvis was silent a moment. "I believe it is the aft section of the ship, particularly the propulsion system."

"Then, let's get around there."

Tony headed for the back of the ship, but before he could get there, he was hit by a strong magnetic wave that knocked him into the wall of the hangar. He landed in the floor. "What was that?" he asked.

"It was a magnetic wave coming from the ship," Jarvis answered after he quickly recovered from the wave.

Tony got up quickly and continued around the ship. He made it around this time, but as he got around to the back of the ship, it was powering up. He aimed his repulsors at the now active engines. "Sir…" Jarvis began but he did not have time to finish that sentence as Tony let go a blast from both his hand repulsors…and his aim was perfect. The blast hit the engine, which caused a massive explosion which knocked Tony backward into the wall, but the suit protected him of course, but he was addled.

"Well, I guess that took care of that," Tony said as he lay on the floor.

"I believe so," Jarvis replied. "It has also damaged the other ships which were also using a magnetic field."

Tony stood up and used his repulsors to shove the damaged ship out of the hangar bay before it could cause anymore damage. Then, he also shoved the Klingon ships out. He took out the communicator again. "Admiral Kirk," he said.

Jim's communicator chirped. "Kirk here."

"Admiral, how much longer till they get those shields up?"

"Probably an hour."

Tony sighed. "Well, I've gotten those enemy ships out of the hangar bay, but I can't say more won't arrive. I think Ivan Vanko was in his ship, but he won't be going anywhere."

"You damaged the ship?"

"Oh yeah."

"Is he gonna die in there?"

"Well, I don't know. He was trying to kill me, so if he dies, I can't help it. I had to get the ship out of here before it damaged the station."

"Right. They're working on the shields. The Enterprise will let us know if more ships come around."

"I guess I'll just be on guard duty then?"

"That might be a good idea."

"You had any contact from the Enterprise?"

"I'll contact them next."

"Great."

Tony closed the communicator. He thought if Vanko was off the station, it would be okay to use his communication system in his suit. He supposed when all of this was over, he had to figure out how to get back to his own time. He had not had any time to consider how to do that. He looked out the portal of the hangar bay which was protected by the initial shields, but the outer shields were non-existent. He could see the ship that Vanko was in, and it was simply drifting out into space.

Tony flew out into space toward the ship. "Jarvis, are you picking up any life in there?" he asked.

"Sir, even though the engines have been destroyed, the magnetic field is still active and is preventing scans."

"What about everything else?"

"It is impossible to tell."

"So we can't tell if the life support systems are working or if he's doing something in there."

"No, Sir."

"Is there a hole in the back?"

Tony flew around the ship to look at the back and find out whether there was an opening that he could get through. However, there was not. "Maybe we can open a hatch to get inside." He flew under the ship looking for a hatch. He found one and moved over to it. "You think we can get this open?"

"I'm sure you will try, Sir," Jarvis replied.

"Thank you…I think."

Tony grabbed the wheel on the outside of the hatch and began trying to turn it. "Being weightless isn't all it's cracked up to be," he said and strained trying to turn the wheel, and finally, it moved. As he turned it, he hoped Ivan Vanko was not waiting for him in there. He finally got the hatch open and aimed his repulsor in, but he did not see anyone. For all he knew, Vanko could be dead.

Tony got inside the ship, closing the hatch behind him. He left the decompression chamber and moved down the middle corridor of the ship, trying to stay quiet, but his metal-booted feet could not accomplish that. "Jarvis," he said quietly. "Are you picking up anything now that we're inside the ship?"

"Yes, Sir," Jarvis replied. "There appears to be one person straight ahead, but there is a great deal of interference. I believe our adversary has…"

Just then, Ivan stepped out into the narrow corridor wearing his own suit, which was much more refined than the one he had the last time. "We meet again, Tony," he said.

Tony just stood there a moment. "I see you've been busy again," he replied.

"Of course. I didn't finish my goal of killing you."

"Why do you want to kill me? I've never been clear on that."

"It should be obvious. Son versus son. My father never could get his revenge on your father, so I'm taking it out on you."

"Wasting your talent."

"Oh, don't tell me you're going to give me that speech about using my talent and knowledge for good."

"I don't give speeches unless it's for my company. Besides, I don't think anything I could say would sway you. Frankly, I don't even know why we're talking." With that, Tony let go with both repulsors hitting Vanko directly in the chest of his suit. He was knocked back down the corridor, but he returned Tony's attack with his own. Tony hit the wall at the other end of the corridor. He shook his head as that lick had made him just a little dizzy. He could see Vanko was getting up though. Tony got up first and aimed at Vanko, but he got out of the way of his attack, and the blasts took out the front of the cockpit which sucked Vanko out into space.

Vanko activated his repulsors and regained control of his drift into space. He aimed and caused even more damage to the ship and continued. Tony realized Vanko intended to destroy that ship with him in it. He turned to the back of the ship to get back out the hatch as another blast hit the front of the ship. Tony stumbled but he managed to get to the hatch and get it open, but by that time, Vanko had come to the back of the ship. Tony slammed the hatch shut, but the blast was powerful enough to open it and knock him backward. He looked toward the other side of the ship. "Well, if I can't get out the door, I'll just make a new one," he said and aimed at the side of the ship. He was almost knocked off his feet with the next blast from Vanko who was attempting to trap him in the ship, and Tony thought he was doing a very good job of that. He took aim again, but Vanko was giving him no chance to escape.

"Jarvis, it looks like we're stuck in here," Tony said as another blast rocked the ship and there was even an explosion that time.

"Sir, you can make it out through the front viewport," Jarvis replied.

"Great!"

Tony got up just before another explosion rocked the ship. He flew out the front viewport before Vanko could realize what he was doing. By the time he got out, Vanko was coming that way. "You're not gonna win this!" Tony declared.

"You forget, I have allies," Vanko replied.

"Sir, the Klingon ships are powering up," Jarvis said.

"Have they targeted us yet?" Tony asked quietly.

"Not yet, but they are turning."

"Let me know when they're powering up."

Tony looked at Vanko. "You know, I've learned something about these rogue Klingons," he said. "They don't really have allies."

"Now, Sir," Jarvis said.

As the Klingon ships fired, Tony ducked back into the station, letting their firing hit Vanko who had been unaware that they were about to fire. Tony could see that Vanko's suit was damaged, and he knew he could not survive in the vacuum of space without it. He also knew it was too late to help him, but he went out and got him back into the station. Vanko was clearly dead, so Tony could do nothing for him. He had bigger worries because the Klingons were turning toward the station.

Tony got out of the hangar bay. "Jarvis, contact Admiral Kirk!" he said. Jim soon answered. "I hope those shields are coming up!"

"They're coming up, but slowly," Jim replied.

"Well, you better get ready for some more trouble! Vanko is dead! But those Klingons are…"

Just then, a large blast hit the station, shaking it. "They're attacking the station!" Tony said.

Jim was surprised that the Klingons were doing that. "How much longer on those shields?" he asked.

"A few more minutes, Sir," one of the technicians said.

"Hurry. We're under attack."

The station shook again. "They're destroying the hangar bays!" Tony said. "Can't your ship do something?"

Jim contacted the Enterprise. "We need help!" he said.

"We see them, Sir," Ashley replied. "We're on our way around now."

The Klingon ships were soon occupied with the Enterprise, and it gave the technicians time to get the shields up. With that, all the other systems came back online as well. Jim blew out a breath. He was hoping this situation was finally turning to their favor. "Spock," he said into his communicator.

"Yes, Admiral," Spock replied.

"Everything okay up there?"

"Yes. Our prisoners are still prisoners."

"Great. The shields and other systems are back online. We can fire on those warbirds now. Make sure those prisoners have no weapons and they're gonna be put in the brig."

"Yes, Admiral."

Jim closed his communicator. He was glad this was almost over. He was glad they had prevailed, but for a while he had not been sure they would. Now, it was time for recovery…and he wanted to know how Ajah was doing.

When Jim walked out of the transporter room on the Enterprise, he went straight to the medical bay. Bones was standing beside the bed where Ajah lay. Jim walked over to him, horrified to see the burns visible on Ajah. He looked at Bones. "Is he gonna be alright?" Jim asked.

Bones frowned. "I don't know, Jim," he replied.

"What does he need?"

"A hospital. He could be treated better there."

Jim nodded. "Then we'll find one."

Jim ran from the medical bay and to the Bridge where Spock was now. "Is everyone aboard?" Jim asked.

"Yes, Admiral," Spock replied.

"Get us to a hospital."

"Yes, Admiral. I believe Pacifica is the closest and is also where Doctor McCoy works."

"Get us there as fast as possible."

It took two days for them to get to Pacifica, but Bones had taken care of Ajah as best he could. "Don't worry, Jim," Bones said. "I'll give him the best care possible."

Jim frowned. "I know you will." He watched as Ajah was taken out of the Enterprise just as Solan walked up beside him.

"I tried to stop him," Solan said.

Jim looked at him. "What do you mean?"

"He was afraid it would be too much for him, but he ran before I could do anything."

"I shouldn't have asked him to do that."

"It's not your fault."

"He was unsure! Why didn't he say something?"

"He wanted to help." Solan sighed. "Maybe he'll be okay."

"I hope he will."
