Chapter 13 : Run Away

So it was early morning when I was done with all of my enchantments. Good thing I took a lot of those rags on the dumps. I used a lot of it just to create some robes and scarves for my other forms. I changed into Miles to take the rags that I put inside her inventory on the ground before going back into Sicily to continue patching things up and then enchanting all of it.
I didn't sleep nor eat anything at all. My hunger and stamina resets whenever I changed into my other forms. And I constantly do that so I didn't waste any time.
After that, I decided to just stay as Sicily before going out.
Miles and Reina is out of the question. It seems like because of the Nanomachines, people all over the world are looking for me. Or well, for the one who spreads the Nanomachines.
I did turn into Miles awhile ago but I do it in short intervals before turning into another form. I can't stay long as Miles ot Reina or else, some Thinker with bullshit powers might be able to find me.
This weird floating panel even told me that it was a close call when that fedora hat wearing lady appeared in front of me with that white portal of hers.
So they can easily find me if they wanted to. If I am not Miles or Reina, no one will suspect that I am the one controlling the Nanomachines.
And I can't really make the Nanomachines do whatever I want. Based on Queenie, I don't have the administrative rights to create the apocalypse. So even with the Nanomachines replicating all over the world, they won't just obey me when I ask them to destroy the world or kill every single being that were exposed to them.
My range is also limited as an administrator. I can only order the Nanomachines a mile in diameter distance with me. It's even shorter when I am Reina.
So yeah, it might be strong, but I can't use it to destroy the world.
And even if I was given the chance to do that, I have no plans to destroy the world at all. How could I even live together with my Dad if the world is gone?
Anyway, I stayed as Sicily and walks out of my new hideout. My new hideout is an abandoned warehouse near the Boat Graveyard.
When I just got out of the warehouse though...

"The Thinktank says that the last information they got on the mystery Tinker before they vanish is in this place. It seems like this Tinker can also block precogs so we can only look around in this place" Miss Militia said that as they got out of the van.
They are now at the abandoned places on the Docks, just near the Boat Graveyard.
Along with her are all the members of Protectorate and Wards, a lot of enforcers on the PRT and there are even some police officers in here.
This is considered as an S-Class Operation but even though it's like that, with the reasoning that they are all compromised by the nanomachines anyway, Director Piggot took all the forces she can muster in this city and tell them to search for the culprit who the Thinktank says are located in her city.
There is also all the New Wave members and some Rogues and Independents who are participating in this operation to find the Tinker who spreads this nanomachines.
The PRT and the other factions from the other city also promised to give some support to the Brockton Bay. Those Capes who are coming here will be arriving here tomorrow so as the first responders, the heroes in this city wants to check things out.
The whole world already knows what is happening. It was broadcasted on all TV channels that a villainous Tinker just spreads a dangerous microscopic machines that can replicate on air at an exponential rate. This was broadcasted after the nationwide red alert alarm was sounded.
So even if it's not known, there are some backroom dealings between the Villains and the Heroes to have a truce for now and look for this Tinker first.
So Villains all over the world are also looking for this Tinker. Unlike the heroes who are going to do this publicly though, the Villains will do this behind the scenes.
Of course not all Villains cares about it. There are some (Mostly S-Class threats) who preferred it this way.
The Slaughterhouse Nine are even going to this city because they also learned about this in their van's radio. Of course no one knows that they are going in this city.
Some time later.
Miss Militia and Armsmaster are just thinking about looking at the other abandoned warehouse when they saw one of the doors of the warehouse opening.
They didn't sense someone being there but due to the door, they still subconsciously looks at that place.
This is why even with not sensing her presence, they accidentally saw a person wearing a white robe and a white scarf. There are some odd colors on those robe and scarf like it was patched in there but they are sure it's just something along with the design. The robe and the scarf looks new and it doesn't have any tears in it.
"Halt! Who are you!"
It seems like even the others also saw her because all of the police officers pointed their guns at her direction.
They can see that the one in the hood is a female, as seen at the obvious female curves within that robe. It doesn't really hide her figure at them, making it easy to guess her gender.
But they can't recognize the face. It's like her face was being obscured behind her hood, even though the hood doesn't really hide her whole face. The scarf was even loosely covering her lower face, making it useless to cover her face at all. But somehow, they can't see her face at all.
The girl seems to have become startled because she was staring at all of them. Though, they can't see her expression. Only her body language suggests that she was shocked at them.
"A new Cape?" Armsmaster muttered while taking a cautious stance on the girl's direction.
They don't know where is the workshop of the Tinker they are looking for. They don't even know who is the Tinker doing this. That's why, this girl might be the one they are looking for.
This is also what the others are thinking because they are not taking their eyes off at the girl. They are wary that the Tinker might be this girl.
"Who are you!"
Armsmaster shouted as they noticed that the girl is still not responding. It seems like she is fidgeting though.
And then the girl suddenly turns on her back and she started running.
It seems like Miss Militia was already prepared because just when the girl turned her back to them, she shoots a beanbag on the girl repeatedly.
They are still not sure if the girl is their mystery Tinker so they can only do this non-lethally.
But it seems like the girl knows that she was going to be attacked because she suddenly jumped. And then she stay floating on the sky. The beanbag of course misses her by her feet.
Then the girl flies towards the skies.
"Catch her!" Armsmaster shouted his orders on his surroundings.

Waaaaah! This is bad! They are already onto me!
Did they know!? Am I going to the Birdcage!? Will I not see my Dad again!?
But I turned into Sicily! How did they even find me!?
I wanted to change right now but I don't want the others to see that I can change forms.
I felt some projectiles coming through me so I dodged out of the way while looking for somewhere to land.
Sicily can fly very fast but I can't really keep up with that kind of speed so I wanted to stay low for now. I'll be risking myself bumping into some buildings or lampposts if I turn myself faster. Of course going above the clouds is also out of question. I am sure I can't breathe in there if I tried.
So I can only fly with my moderate speed while also staying near on the ground. Of course I am floating some feet away on the ground so no one can just jumped on me.
Anyway, I need to get out of here. I don't know how they find me but I can't risk letting them catch me. I don't know if they really know that I was the one who spreads the Nanomachines but I won't bet on that.
So I ran away.
But it seems like it won't be that easy after all.
Suddenly, I was hit by a lot of laser beams. It doesn't affect me much but it scared me.

"Wah!" I cried in surprised as I snap my attention in the direction where those laser beams are coming.
Another wave of laser beams was shooting into me so I was forced to dodge while still trying to see who are shooting into me.

Of course I ignored it and just fly into another direction. Going directly in the middle of the Docks.
It seems like my Power Dampening Field is working as intended. The laser beams doesn't affect me and Glory Girl's flight is becoming slower.
Though I don't know how much range my Power Dampening Field have.
I ignored the laser beams because it doesn't even affect me and continue on finding someplace to hide myself.

I stand up and tried to look around. Then I noticed that someone wearing a full armor with clocks is very near me and was going to touch me.

I tried sidestepping and it seems like finally, he overreached himself.
So I used my full speed of my flight and move to the skies, only to come straight to the ground as my vision distorted again.

"What are you doing Clock! Can't you freeze her properly!?" I heard the voice of a child on the side yelling at the guy with the clocks.
"I'm trying. But she kept moving after a second I leave my hands on her!"

"Do it again! I don't know why but it's getting hard to bend the space while I am staying here!" I heard the voice of that young girl again on the distance.

And I can't even dodge because it felt like I was hitting a wall in my back when I tried moving back. Clockblocker was just moving to the side while that bolt was going to hit me!
And wait, what did that weird floating panel displayed!? She is Sophia Hess!?
Fuck! Wait, I don't have time for this shit! What should I do!?

I created a magic barrier to surround me and then I tried to fly away. It seems like the whole place is distorting but it was pretty slower than awhile ago so I didn't hit face first on the ground again.
The bolt hit my barrier and it fell on the ground.
And then my whole vision suddenly rolled around as I felt myself falling somewhere in the streets. I felt my magic barrier breaking along with that.
"Glory Girl! Your here!" I heard someone exclaimed.
I hit the ground with a grunt. Feeling dizzy for the first time. Did I hit my head?
This is bad. Am I going to be caught!?
Should I change forms now? But they will know I can change forms if I do that!
... Why am I even avoiding them all?
Fuck! Sophia Hess is a hero. Fuck this shit!
Fuck! I can't focus much. I am becoming very dizzy. I should heal myself first before... oh right, I don't have the fucking time!

"Just knock her out. The others are coming here soon" I heard the voice of that Sophia!

I saw her raising her fist against me. It seems like I heard Clockblocker suggesting a gentler approach but they are not bothered by it.
Why is this happening? Are they suspecting I am the one who spread the Nanomachines?
Well, yeah of course I am. But no one was supposed to know about it?
Did Queenie underestimated the Thinkers in this world? Maybe it's just really wrong timing that I go out of the warehouse, just like what the weird panel was telling me?
Still... fuck!
Fuck this all! This is like I am being bullied again!
Why am I holding back? Sophia is a hero so of course she would be always right in their eyes.
And me? I am still wrong no matter what I did.
Fuck! Everyone is ganging up on me! I didn't even want to be in this city. I am looking for my Dad!
The DWU was my only hope of finding Dad. That's why I am still staying here!

So hello... I decided to continue this...
I was scared about writing this for sometime because of the last chapter. Right now I am also scared of publishing this...
But I already planned this since I started writing this story.
I am sure you already got the gist of what happened in this chapter.
See, Taylor got a misunderstanding that the heroes knew she was the one who spreads the Nanomachine. She was just suspected because of her attire and because she was new but they are not really declaring her as the one they are looking for.
So when she runs away, they are just trying to catch her. They will be interrogating her after that.
On the New Wave part. I think I read on many fanfics that Glory Girl is very aggressive. Well, I know she wasn't that reckless, but she is still very aggressive. She doesn't even hold back on normal gangs.
Though that's a wrong assumption I think.
As for the names. I don't see Hannah and Dennis having full names on the wiki so I just invented something and then moves on to others. I hope it was okay xc
And now about that Character Override. I will also explain that because I think most of you already know what I am going for here. So everytime Taylor became unconscious in the middle of a crisis or a combat, the character she is using will takeover and do whatever. They also know what Taylor is doing to their body while she is using it.
... Yeah, I think this might become a downer... I'll see if this was accepted by all of you...
If this is not accepted... well, I'll think what to do next (other than hiding and not writing anymore)
