A.N: Hey guys how's life? I managed to get together a chapter... I have to be honest; I did not read this again afterward. I am now fully obsessed with Animal Crossing, and I literally don't do anything but play it nowadays. Finals are close so the next chapter will probably be late. I have a few filler chapters, would you guys be interested?
Anyway that's all have a good week
Walking through the crowded streets of the new island they just arrived at, everyone was in a good mood. The majority of the whitebeard crew roamed the new island trying their best to let it sink in and enjoy all that it offered, meanwhile, the rest had duties to fulfill. Sabo was walking alongside Ace and Luffy, they had been entrusted with money and a few instructions and got sent out to the island on their own. Sabo somehow felt extremely relieved; they have been stuck at the ship for almost 3 weeks now and he was extremely sick of it. At first, it wasn't as bad because they had a huge prank war: the three of them, Thatch, and Marco; versus Izo, Vista, and Haruta. However, that war took a huge turn a week in, they have pranked each other too hard that one of the pranks ended up hurting the whole crew (except for Whitebeard).
Ever since they weren't allowed to do anything connected to pranks. Pranks were good, Sabo did not have to hold conversations with anyone, at least not for a long time. With all the fun he's had, he managed to completely forget about his problem. He didn't have to think about it a whole week, but after that, there was nothing to distract his thoughts. So for the rest of the two weeks, he spent most of his free afternoons chilling with his brothers on the figurehead, they usually took naps there, but instead of sleeping Sabo was completely lost in thought the entire time. He kept thinking about how he was scared of taking the mark. Sabo trusted the crew, after all, they did save him from his father and practically kidnapped him. However, there is still a part of him that thinks that the only reason they saved him was that Ace and Luffy were there. More than that, he can't help but believe that the only reason Whitebeard kidnapped him is that Ace and Luffy like him a lot. Sabo knows it is so stupid of him to think like that, but he can't help it. He refuses to believe someone wants him to be part of their family.
"Look meat!" Sabo got brought back to reality when Luffy grabbed his sleeve and dragged him to a street vendor that is selling meat. He looked at Ace to see him smiling brightly at the sight of the meat being grilled right in front of them. Sabo chuckled. For now, Sabo decided to stop thinking about it.
After a dine and dash later, the boys decided to go to the island's forest to run around and maybe find something to hunt. Sabo ran really quickly, he could hear his brothers' laughter and footsteps behind him. The feeling of the wind against his face as he ran made him feel alive and at peace after such a long time. He felt as if he's finally home. He missed the smell of the forest, running around without a single care, and he missed not having anything to weigh his thoughts.
Sabo missed all of it.
Getting too carried away with his thoughts, Sabo realized that neither Ace or Luffy was behind him. He stopped running and turned around searching for his brother.
"What are you doing here little boy?" Sabo turned around completely shocked. A tall man was standing behind him. Sabo thought at first that it was one of the crew. Marco told them clearly that despite this island not being one of Whitebeard's territories but there is nobody on the island but the crew. Getting a closer look, Sabo couldn't recognize who he was, however, one thing caught his eye is that the man was wearing a marine coat.
Sabo couldn't help but get startled when he noticed the man's eyes land on Whitebeard's mark on the shirt he was wearing.
'Dammit Izo, why did you decide to do the laundry today.'
"Ah, it seems like you are the boy that we got a call about," the man took a step closer to Sabo, only to cause him to take a step backward.
"The noble boy that ran away with the Whitebeard pirates, I didn't really believe it at first but here you are," The man continued.
"So what if I was," Sabo spit back as he pulled out his pipe from his back and took a defensive stance.
'Ace, Luffy, please don't find me right now.'
"Calm down kid, I won't hurt you...No, you will come to me with your own feet," The man smirked evilly taking another step closer to Sabo.
"How about we make a deal?"
Ace and Luffy were running around trying to find Sabo. They were racing with each other before Luffy hit a tree, Ace thought that Sabo noticed and slowed down. However, it seems like Sabo kept going.
"Hey Ace, shouldn't we tell the rest? Maybe Marco can find him faster." Ace sighed, At this point, he might as well, they have been searching for over an hour and Sabo was nowhere to be seen. Ace was seriously starting to get worried. No matter how fast Sabo was going he must have found him by now. Where was he?
"Alright Luffy, let's go tell the rest," Luffy nodded at him determined before he started to run back towards shore.
Marco watched his brothers rush back and forth from the ship. He decided to go on the island in a bit to pick up his little brothers. The sun was starting to go down and they still didn't get back. He knows that they're probably too caught up in roaming around to realize how late it's getting. So, he planned to go get them before Izo realized they were not back yet. Despite contrary belief, Izo was stricter on the boys than anyone on the ship. Marco assumes it's probably because he had a younger sibling to take care of, he also thinks he became that way after taking care of Oden for so long. Because of that, Marco and Thatch tend to help the boys to make sure they won't get in trouble; or else, the boys will receive a two-hour long lecture.
Before Marco could get down from the ship, he saw Ace and Luffy rushing towards the ship.
"I was about to go get you boys, where is Sabo? Is he with one of the crew?"
Marco's heart dropped when both of his brothers' faces turned into a frown.
"We lost Sabo. We tried looking for him but we couldn't find him anywhere. What should we do?"
