Greetings all, and welcome to my story. As this is my first story I'm posting, I will try to make it the best I can. I'm not very good at writing and hope that I can entertain you all. Also, I only own my OCs, any characters mentioned from the SEGA series belong solely to them. Now without further ado, I introduce you to "Jackal and High (School)"

Chapter 1: A New Dawn

Rei's POV

I wake up and groan as I look out of the window next to my bed. The light was still pretty dim, but I could see the shadows slowly start to melt away as the light fought it back. I sighed and laid my head back down on by pillow, as soon as I did, I heard a sharp buzzing noise come from my left side. I moaned, rolled over, and slammed my hand on what seemed to be making the dreadful noise. The noise stopped almost instantly and I looked over to see what I hit. Under my hand was a black alarm clock with light blue numbers showing the time on the screen. 05:30. I sighed and threw off my covers as I looked around my room. The dark gray room gave off the cold feeling of being in a cave as I walked over to his dresser and pulled out a new set of clothes. They consisted of a pair of black camouflaged cargo shorts that went past my knees and halfway past my shins, a sleeveless, hooded black jacket that I zipped up all the way because I didn't have a shirt on under it, it also had five buckles down the front side that I fastened together. After, I put on a pair of white socks and a pair of smoky gray high tops with a red sole and a red, broken triangle design, I also wore a pair of gloves that matched my sneakers. I placed three silver earrings in my right ear and put a black, silver studded, armband on each arm. I walked out of my room and turned down the hallway towards the bathroom. When I entered, I closed and latched the door so nobody would interrupt me. I looked at the mirror above the sink and sighed at the mess I saw. Deep violet eyes stared back at me as I glared at my cream colored hair that was thrown every which way. I reached for a brush and began to comb my hair, as I did, I heard two loud voices screaming at each other from the the room that was across from mine. As the noise continued I rolled my eyes and finished brushing my hair. I took out a black leather cord and tied it back in a loose ponytail. I quickly brushed my teeth and put on some deodorant, I didn't use any cologne though, it tends to upset my sensitive nose. To be honest, all of my senses were sharper than most mobians and I was greatly proud of that fact. As I did one last look in the mirror, I looked at the black arch's that lined the snow white fur on top of my eyes, "why do I have to look like I'm always wearing eyeliner?" I mumbled to myself as I left the bathroom and walked into the kitchen. I quickly looked into the fridge and grabbed the gallon off milk. After getting a decent sized glass, I started to pour the cold white liquid and heard a door slam, this startled me and I spilled some milk onto the counter and sighed as I placed the gallon down. Grabbing a towel, I turn to see a light brown anthro timber wolf storm off and out of the front door, I smiled, "looks like mom finally chased that guy off" I thought to myself. I quickly wiped up the spilled milk and finished filling my glass. Once I put the gallon back in the fridge. I grabbed my beverage and sat down in a wooden bar stool that sat next to the kitchen counter. As I quietly sipped my milk, my ears perk up to the sound of light footsteps walking down the hall. I looked up to see a petite, light gray, female jackal with three charcoal black stripes lining both sides of her rib cage. She was wearing blue jean shorts and a forest green tank top. Her white hair was down and flowed over her right shoulder. She had a serious look on her face, but when she saw me, she suddenly had the sweetest smile on her face. "Good morning 'Sunshine!'"

I groaned, "Mooom!!! You know I don't like it when you call me that..."

She places her hand on my cheek "I know hun," she gently tapped it and took a step back,laughing, "but it's my job to embarrass you!!!"

I smiled and threw the milky towel at her and hit her in the face. As she pulled the wet cloth off of her white muzzle, she grinned evilly and grabbed the hose that was next to the sink and aimed at me, my eyes widened and I barely had time to duck behind the counter before a large stream of water collided with the wooden chair that I was sitting on. "How do you like dem apples?!" My mom yelled after she finished off the chair. I popped my head slightly over the counter top, and instantly got a face full of cold water. When my mom finally had her fill of spraying me she put away the hose and threw me a 'clean' towel. I quickly dried off and started to dry off the floor, chairs, walls, and anything else my mother mercilessly drenched. As we cleaned, I quickly drank the rest of my milk and placed the glass gently in the sink. Suddenly, Mom's phone started to ring and she quickly answered it.

"Hello...this is she...yes sir...yes...no sir I...I understand sir...I'll take care of it...I'll let you know when the task is complete." She hung up the phone and sighed, "Sorry Rei, it looks like I'll be working late tonight."

This news didn't bother me much, mom was a G.U.N. agent and constantly had to go on missions and multiple times she had been gone for a couple weeks at a time, so I wasn't really disturbed by this. "No biggie," I shrugged, "I'll just order a pizza or something for dinner."

Mom smiled and placed her hand on his head, "You're a good kid Rei," she kissed me on the forehead and then gasped at the clock, "Sweet Chaos!!! You got to get to the school!!!" I cursed under my breath, I had forgotten that today was my first day of school. I had just changed schools after getting expelled from my last school in the middle of the semester. Lucky for me, Mom needed to move because of her job and she was able to find a school at my new home in Emerald Hills that was always looking for new students.

Mom gave me a quick hug and I ran out the door, grabbing my gray book bag and running out the door from the small apartment. I quickly snatched my black and silver EXgear and jumped onto the railing to the stairs and grind down. Before I reached the bottom of the rail, I jumped and powered up my gear, I did an aerial twist and placed the board under my feet. As soon as I finish my stunt, I stomped on the heel trigger that gives my board a large boost and zoomed down the street, I pulled out a pair of black Bluetooth headphones from my book bag and placed them over my ears and started playing some high speed power metal from his favorite band "Cross." I grinned as I saw a large pipe that had a large wooden board placed on top of it. The perfect ramp, "might as well" I thought to myself as I increased my speed and aimed right for the ramp.

After about a 15 minute ride I arrived at a large school that was about three stories high and branches off to two different wings one east the other west. As I marveled at the large structure, I looked up at the entrance and above it was , in golden lettering, was the words "Chaos High". In between the two words was a large painting of a green emerald with a golden ring around it and what appeared to be angelic wings poking from the sides. As I stepped up the stairs and started walking towards the large double doors, I noticed a large marble statue, this statue depicted three hedgehogs. The first looked like it was running with a flashy smile on his face as he smashed a robot that amusingly looked a lot like an egg. The second looked a lot like the first but had stripes on each of his quills and seemed to have an angry look on his face. This one appeared to be holding some type of stone in one hand and throwing a lightning bolt from the other. The third, who had five quills shaped as a folded star on his forehead, looked to be floating in the air as he spreads his arms out. Multiple objects appeared to be floating around him. I looked down at a brass plate with words carved into it. It read 'Blessed be our founders, the Warriors of Chaos.' After I had gawked at the statue and inscription for a good while, I heard the school bell ring and I silently cursed at myself for standing there like an idiot instead of settling in to his new school. He quickly ran into the building and down the hallway, trying to find the principles office.

"Dang!" I said to myself "why did I have to go and be late on my first day." As I turned a corner I suddenly felt something hard and fell back as a large amount of papers flew around and landed on the floor around me. I get up and looked around, trying to see what I collided with, and my heart dropped when I found out. Lying on the floor was a light gray, female snow leopard with black spots. Her hair was the same shade of gray as her fur, and she had it in a neet braid. She looked up at me with emerald green eyes as she rubbed her forehead. "Ouch..." she squeaked as she touched where I hit her.

I quickly picked up all of her papers and set them next to her before she had even stood up. I started to speak really fast, my words sounding like they were smashed together as my face flared with embarrassment, "IMSOSORRYIWASNTLOOKINGWHEREIWASGOINGIMSOSORRY!!!"Before she could say anything, I quickly ran towards where I thought the principal's office was located and started shouting at myself in my head, "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Why Did I Have To Do That!!! Gah!!! I'm Such An Idiot!!!" When I had finally stopped, I was standing in front of a door that read 'Principal's Office'. I sighed, calmed my heart down, and knocked on the door. "Enter!," I heard a females voice call out from the other side and I opened the door and walked in, closing it behind me.

A female lynx wearing a purple dress looked up from behind a large wooden desk that had a golden plate that read 'NICOLE' on it as I entered and smiled at me. "Good morning," she said as she gestured towards a group of wooden chairs, "you may take a seat wherever you like, Miss. Sally will be ready to see you in a moment." I obediently sat down and rubbed my arm nervously as I waited to start my life at a new school. It wasn't long before Miss. Nicole told me that the Principal was ready for me. I stood up, walked up to the door that she had pointed to, swallowed, and walked in.
