Toshinori felt uncomfortable with the marker mustache doodled on his face. However the more he tried to rub at it in an effort to try and rub the doodle off- the more Ichigo's small hand would come up and grasp his wrist and she'd give him a chastising look.
Which just sucked, really. After all, how could he go out and do his job as a hero if he had doodles on his face? People would laugh at how ridiculous he looked!
He lifted his hand to try and rub at his skin for the umpteenth time, and heard Ichido heave a sigh and reached out to grab him again only for him to violently jerk the moment that her fingers brushed against his skin to prevent her from stopping him.
It didn't stop her though. It only delayed her by a second.
She made a little growling sound of annoyance and spun on her heel, startling him somewhat before she managed to grab his hand again and abruptly jerked it away from his face and hissed, "Stop. It. Rukia used a permanent marker on you. You won't be getting that stupid doodle off for a while."
Not without losing some skin anyways. She thought to herself as he scowled at her in annoyance.
"If I can't get it off, then I can't do any work." He said mulishly as he glared at her.
She shrugged her shoulders, not feeling the least bit sympathetic for him. After all, Rukia wouldn't have doodled on his face in the first place if he hadn't been spying on them. So really it was his own fault that he looked ridiculous now.
And that really wasn't her problem.
"Which way do we go now?" She asked him as they came to the end of the hallway that they'd been walking through. He sighed in an irked manner and pointed to the left. She muttered a soft 'thank you' and gently nudged Rukia in that direction, making sure to keep her in front of her.
Apparently wanting to keep the small girl and him separate for some reason or another that had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he was nearly spitting mad. And would strangle the brat if the girl emperor allowed him close enough to even get his hands on her.
"What are we going to do once we meet up with the others?" Rukia asked as she glanced back at Ichigo from over one of her shoulders.
"Dunno," Ichigo said thoughtfully before then asking, "All Might? Any ideas?"
The man growled at the two girls but still replied. "Nezu was wanting to test you to see what sort of quirk you have. What it can do. How powerful it is, ect…"
Ichigo frowned at him for a moment as Rukia blurted out, "But she doesn't have a quirk." Causing the hulking blond to nearly trip over his own feet upon hearing the small girl speak.
Looking at the two with a totally bewildered expression on his face as he hedged, "B-But doesn't she have abilities of some kind?"
"Sure," Rukia said with a slight shrug before then slowly saying. "But none of them are quirks or even remotely quirk related."
He frowned, and then opened his mouth to ask her how that could even be possible. But even he knew that not everyone with abilities had quirks. Meta's tended to be born with their abilities instead of totally developing them over time as they aged. And there were even a few people in the world that had abilities without quirks- due to a form of genetic evolution.
It was a distinct possibility that Ichigo could be one of those. Right?
"May I ask, what sort of abilities you have Ichigo?" He asked curiously. Wondering what sort of abilities she possessed and if she would do well as an addition to the school as a student. Sure he knew that she was old enough to have graduated from school already- but maybe he and the rest of the teachers could work around that.
The girl looked at him with a frown before saying brusquely, "I'm sorry. But I don't want to talk about them."
It was difficult to describe the disappointment that he felt at her response to his question. But to him it was probably akin to seeing someone stuff a puppy in a blender and then turned it on. A really, really cute floppy eared puppy.
How utterly tragic.
"What about you, Miss Rukia? Any abilities of your own?"
"Yes." The smaller girl said.
"Would you mind telling me about them?"
The girl hummed and thought for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to tell him about her abilities without totally outing herself in the process. "I'm good with a sword. And hand to hand combat as well. I know a little bit of martial arts- and Ichigo's been trying to teach me some stuff too..."
The man cocked his head wondering if maybe the girl hadn't really understood his question and was simply telling him what she considered to be an 'ability' of some sort, when the other girl sighed tiredly and then chimed in, "Enhanced strength, speed, durability, stamina, the ability to heal-"
"Oh! I'm sorry, was I telling him the wrong information?" Rukia asked as she looked to her friend. Ichigo merely hummed.
"Are those your abilities?" All Might asked Rukia.
She nodded her head. "Yes. A few of them."
"There's more?" He asked, his tone colored by intrigue. He'd never met anyone with more than one or two abilities. Quirk or otherwise. So the fact that she had such a number of versatile abilities was beyond interesting to him.
"I can also erase specific traumatizing memories in a person's mind, and plant false memories in them. Something happier to negate some of the horror and pain?" She said this while looking over at her friend before then saying. "Of course, Ichigo is immune to it. And can easily pick out the false memories I use on her. Which sort of makes her a freak of nature."
The taller girl reached out and absently pushed the smaller one, causing the girl to stumble a little bit. But she managed to stay on her feet and even laughed at the other girl for her antics.
All Might watched the two with a small frown as he mulled over what Rukia had just said as she continued to tell him stuff about her abilities.
One of which hit just a tad bit too close to home for someone like him.
She mentioned Ichigo having weakened or lost her abilities a time or two an vice versa, and how each time it happened the two girls would 'donate' some of their power and strength to one another to help the other regain their weakened/lost abilities.
He found himself narrowing his eyes at the two wondering what sort of fucked up game they were playing with him. Even he knew that once a quirk or ability was lost- it couldn't be regained or strengthened. Once something like that was gone, it was just gone.
There was no second chances. No do over's.
It was finite.
Still, he found himself wanting to know how that specific ability of theirs worked so that he might be able to avoid it. So when Rukia told him the answer, he stopped walking and simply looked from one girl to another with a look of dismay on his face as he demanded.
"What the hell do you mean by Ichigo is like a universal donor?"
"Just what I said," Rukia said before then explaining. "She's a lot like a universal donor. My power, Kisuke's, Yoruichi's- all would have vanished a while back if it wasn't for her ability to kind of infect others like a virus. You see, Ichigo's power is so great that she can't contain it all. Some of it bleeds out into her surroundings and attaches itself to others."
"Plants, animals, people- nothing is totally immune. So when a small part of her power attaches itself to someone, it means that if anything happens, and their own power begins to fade or weaken- she can use a little bit more of her own to fix the problem and make it stronger. But it has other practical uses too."
"Say for instance you're fighting someone with a significantly greater power than your own, and you get badly injured. You're moments away from dying when Ichigo get's there. She can use some of her power to create a healing or regenerative ability in you that would save your life, as well as give you a really nice boost in power. Thereby allowing you to defeat your enemy."
She seemed so proud of what she'd just explained to him but all he could do was gape at her and think, Ichigo must be a monster.
