"So Grandpabie said that we can stay here until we can get started building New Arendelle. Is that ok with you, Anna?"
Anna flinched as she heard her name called, trying to scrape together what little she had understood of what Kristoff just told her. "H-huh? What?"
Kristoff placed his hand on Anna's shoulder, trying to remain calm and sympathetic as he repeated himself. "We're allowed to stay here until we can build our new home. Is that ok with you?"
"Oh, uh, yeah. Of course."
Kristoff sighed, running his hand through his hair. "Anna, I–" His free hand moved over to touch the engagement ring he had bought for the princess, but he hesitated. This was probably not what Anna needed to hear right now. "I wanted to tell you that you can always come to me for anything you need. You don't have to do this alone."
Anna looked up blankly at Kristoff, like he wasn't even there, and he gave up.
"I'm going to go see if anyone needs any help. I love you."
"Huh? Oh, I love you too."
Kristoff pecked Anna's lips before leaving. She wasn't the same, and he didn't know how to help her.
