Emily was dead.
It rang through Leena's mind as she stared, petrified, at the crumbling house that she had told herself was safe. She had convinced herself that no Talon agent knew of it. Besides, that life was gone. Overwatch was not for her anymore. It had never occurred to her that her enemies had never forgotten her. She was lazy with security, believing her own lie that they didn't know she was still alive. And it had killed the one she loved the most.
She could've stayed and wept, but the police were coming. Police meant Overwatch. And Overwatch meant the people it's new leader had (wrongly, Leena thought) recruited to "carry out justice" as they said. The new catchphrase was not how Leena remembered Overwatch when she carried her other name, before the forced retirement
