Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

So, this chapter will feature the first match up against members of the Cabal. We're going to see three Cabal members in this chapter. I've planned it out for there to be four "waves". Three villains, then one, then three, then two.

Alright. Let's get to it.

Chapter 17- Meet the Cabal

I run my hands over my belt, making sure that all my gear. I then slide my quiver onto my back, and Finnick checks that its secure. I then pick up my bow, and me and Finnick walk out of the building where we set up camp the previous night.

Today, we're supposed to go out and shoot some propaganda footage. It's our second day of shooting footage. We were very open about our filming the first day, hoping to draw out some of the Cabal. We won't be as open with our filming today.

As the team assembles outside the tents, Boggs says, "Alright, team. We're heading about a block away to shoot footage. Let's get a move on."

I follow Boggs out of the building, as does the rest of the team, and we start heading down the street.

When we reach the block where we're meant to shoot the footage, Boggs stops us. Once we're all gathered, Boggs says, "Alright. Today is gonna be all about us taking on pods. Our Holo shows four active pods on this street. We'll shoot footage of us setting off the pods. Everyone understand?" Boggs asks.

Everyone nods. Boggs nods as well, and then says, "Alright. Let's begin."

We make our way down the street towards the first pod. As the Holo starts beeping, Boggs motions for us all to take cover. Boggs then makes a motion to me.

I draw a regular arrow from my quiver, and coming just far enough out of my cover to be able to shoot, I draw back and fire. As the arrow flies out, it activates the pod, releasing a band of about a dozen mutts that look almost exactly like the wolf mutts that were released during mine and Peeta's first Games.

Gale immediately rises and lifts his hands. He begins blasting his repulsors one after the other at the incoming mutts while Johanna charges towards them. Gale knocks out half the mutts while the others try to attack Johanna. Johanna kills them all in seconds with her bare hands. Finnick then rushes forward and kills the mutts that Gale knocked out.

Everyone stands up from their spots of cover. "That was easy," Castor says.

"Never say it's easy, Castor. That's just asking for bad luck," Gale says.

"Alright, people. Let's move on," Boggs says.

We continue down the street after Boggs until the Holo starts beeping again. Again, Boggs motions for all of us to take cover. After everyone's taken cover, he motions for me to trigger the pod.

Again, I come a little bit out of my cover and draw back my arrow. I fire the arrow, but this time, the pod doesn't go off.

Everyone sits there for several moment, wondering what just happened. Finally, Holmes says, "What happened? Why didn't it go off?"

There's quiet for a few seconds. Then, right as I'm about to draw another arrow and see if it was just a fluke the first time, I hear something. A roaring noise. Somewhat similar to the sound Gale's suit makes, but different.

At first, I'm confused. Then, my heart chills as I realize what is the likely source. However, before I can say anything, something red flies over the rooftops. It drops something then sets down itself.

My face falls as I recognize the flyer and what it dropped. Blizzard and Crimson Dynamo. Then, only a second later, there's the sound of something smashing stone, and Doctor Octopus appears over a rooftop, coming down the side of the building until he reaches the other two Cabal members.

There's a moment of silence, and then I say, "Boggs, get the squad out of here. We'll handle this."

"Squad 451! Pull back!" Boggs orders. Boggs, Jackson, Mitchell, the Leegs, and Holmes all get up and start running back the way we came as me, Gale, Finnick, Johanna, Cressida, Pollux, Castor and Flint all stand up and step towards the three Cabal members.

I hear a distorted laugh coming from Crimson Dynamo. "Well, well. The Avengers. We meet at last," he says.

"Crimson Dynamo, Blizzard, and Doctor Octopus. Hmm. You don't live up to what I imagined," Gale says mockingly.

"Really? Let's see if you think the same when you are dead," Doctor Octopus says arrogantly.

I quickly snap into my tactical mindset. "Gale, you, me, and Flint will handle Dynamo. Finnick, you and Johanna handle Octopus. Cressida, you, Pollux and Castor handle Blizzard," I order.

"Copy that, Mockingjay," Finnick says with a grin on his face.

"Now!" I shout as I draw an explosive arrow and fire it at Dynamo. The arrow hits him and knocks him flying back from the blast.

Gale takes to the air as flies towards Dynamo as me and Flint charge towards him. Finnick and Johanna charge towards Octopus, who moves towards them on his mechanical limbs. Cressida fires a web rope and swings up into the air before swinging towards Blizzard as Pollux takes to the air and Castor shrinks down.

Dynamo regains his feet and sees Gale flying right at him. Slots open on Dynamo's shoulders, which launch missiles at Gale. Gale pulls up and streaks into the sky, firing his repulsors back at the missiles to destroy them.

Dynamo then faces me and Flint and raises his arms, deploying machine guns from his arms which quickly fire at us. I dodge out of the way, but Flint just takes the bullets. I then fire an electric arrow. It hits one of the machine guns on Dynamo's arms and pierces through the gun, sending an electric shock through the suit and causing Dynamo to yell in pain. This gives Flint the chance to race up to him and destroy the other machine gun using his claws.

Dynamo takes to the air to try and get away from us. However, Gale, having destroyed all the missiles, flies down and tackles Dynamo out of the sky, slamming him into the ground.

As Gale does this, I glance to the sides to see how the other two fights are going. I see Finnick leaping around, trying to dodge Doctor Octopus' mechanical limbs, while Johanna fends them off with her fists. In the other direction, Cressida is swinging around on web ropes as Pollux flies around, the two drawing Blizzard's attention. He keeps trying to hit them with blasts of ice, only to be knocked around by Castor, who is still at ant size.

I refocus my attention on Dynamo. And just in time, as I have to dodge more gunfire from him. Gale then dives in, firing a missile at Dynamo. The missile explodes, destroying the gun that Dynamo fired at me and knocking him back again.

Dynamo regains his feet and raises his hands, discharging powerful bolts of electricity towards me and Gale. I manage to dodge the bolt aimed at me, but Gale is too close, and the bolt hits him. He cries out in pain, and the electricity temporarily shorts out his thrusters, send him crashing into the street.

Angry, I draw another electric arrow and fire it. It strikes Dynamo and sends a shock through the suit, temporarily stunning the suit. Taking advantage of this, Flint leaps forward and lands on Dynamo's shoulder. He then reaches around Dynamo's head, slashing at his visor with his claws. After the second strike, Flint breaks the glass of the visor. As he does so, Dynamo recovers from the shock, and he reaches up and grabs Flint, discharging a shock directly through his hand. Flint screams out in pain, before Gale flies in at high speed and slams into Dynamo's chest, forcing him to drop Flint. He then flies down the street with Dynamo, slamming him into a building.

I rush over to Flint and pull him back to his feet. "Are you alright, Flint?" I ask.

"Yeah. Just give me a second," he says, breathing heavily.

I glance to one side, and see Johanna flung back by a blow from Octopus' limbs. Johanna regains her feet and charges towards Octopus. As Finnick tries to distract Octopus, she dashes towards Octopus, leaping around Octopus' limbs several times. She then throws herself at Octopus, slamming into his stomach and knocking him down. She then grabs one of his limbs and spins around before releasing it, sending him flying into a building. Before Octopus can recover, Finnick throws his main trident and impales Octopus directly through the chest.

I smile a bit as I see one of the members of the Cabal finally dead. Then, I refocus my attention on Dynamo, and me and Flint sprint down the street towards him. Johanna runs with us while Finnick moves to help the others fight Blizzard.

Down the street, Gale is engaged in a fist fight with Dynamo. As we watch, he deploys these devices that look almost like hammers around his fists, and slams them into Dynamo, knocking him back. He then leaps up and slams one of the hammers down onto Dynamo, knocking him to the ground.

I rush in, firing an explosive arrow. Gale flies out of the way, and the blast knocks Dynamo back into a building.

I watch as Dynamo gets back to his feet. It's then that I see the broken visor, and realize that through it, I can just barely see his face.

"Guys. Restrain Dynamo. Keep him as still as you can. I just need him still for like 2 seconds," I say.

Johanna and Flint charge towards Dynamo. Dynamo dodges Johanna's initial blow and grabs her by the head. He starts shocking her, but a repulsor blast from Gale quickly ends that attack.

Flint leaps forward and kicks Dynamo in the chest, knocking him back a step. He then lunges forward and grabs Dynamo's right arm. A moment later, Johanna leaps forward and grabs his left arm, right as Gale flies up and wraps his arms around Dynamo's head.

I whip pout an arrow, nock it, and draw back. Dynamo is struggling against them, but with three strong Avengers trying to restrain him, he doesn't escape.

I keep my arrow steady, waiting for Dynamo to stop struggling. I watch, and finally, for a split second, he stops moving. That's all I need, and I let my arrow fly. It flies right through the broken visor and into the helmet, going right through Dynamo's face. Dynamo let's out a single noise before he goes limp. Gale, Johanna, and Flint let him go, and he falls to the ground.

The four of us look down at Dynamo, then up at each other. "Well. Looks like we can do anything when we work together," I say.

"Guess so," Flint says.

Right then, I hear a yell behind me. I turn around, and see Blizzard get thrown back by a blow from an unseen Castor. A split second later, his hands are bound to the ground by webbing from Cressida. Then, before he can move, Finnick leaps forward and drives his trident into Blizzard's chest.

Me, Gale, Flint, and Johanna walk down the street towards our teammates. As we get close, Finnick pulls out his trident, and the four of them turn to look at us.

"Well. That was a full day's work," Finnick, drawing chuckles from several of us.

"Well. Three down. Seven to go. We're that much closer to Snow," I say with a little vindictiveness in my voice.

Hope this didn't go too fast. Then again, with so many Avengers fighting each villain, I don't think it would take long. Especially because the Cabal aren't as experienced and haven't trained as long as the Avengers.
