CHAPTER 6

Sesshoumaru woke up to the sound of Rin sobbing beside him. Remembering the whole ordeal, he sighed and rolled over off the bed. He got dressed and grabbed Rin's clothes on the floor and tossed them to her.

"Why are you crying?" He asked with a note of annoyance in his voice. Rin wiped her tears and grabbed her clothes, completely ignoring him. Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes and grabbed his shirt. "Your tears won't do you any good so why bother?"

Rin's face flushed with anger and she quickly got dressed. She got out of bed and stormed off toward the door. Sesshoumaru was faster and he grabbed her arm as she stormed past him. "Where do you think you are going?"

She turned to him and said coldly, "You got what you want, why should I stay?"

"The deal was for you to spend the night with me, not leaving in the middle of the night." He said with equal coldness.

"You had your way with me, isn't that enough?" She remarked.

"No." He simply said. "For the price that I paid, you are lucky I only asked for one night."

Rin gritted her teeth in anger. The way he said it made her feel ashamed of herself. She had never in her life thought someday she would spend a night with a man for money. She pulled her arm hard from Sesshoumaru grips.

"What do you want?" She snapped.

His mouth curved up into a ruthless half smile. He stepped forward. "I thought maybe we could go another round." A wicked smile teased at the corners of his mouth as he ran the back of his hand down her arm.

She jerked away from his touch and gave him a cold stare. Suddenly, Sesshoumaru grabbed her upper arms and pulled her close. "Just remember, your husband sold you out." He said with disgust. "You are like other women, you are only after one thing and one thing only and that is money." His voice was cold and lashing as he shoved her backward.

Rin stumbled back speechless. She was confused in his sudden change of attitude. She watched him as he grabbed his jacket.

"Tell your husband, he made a good trade. But I wouldn't pay that much again to spend the night with you." He said harshly and slammed the door behind.

Rin's eyes watered at his bitter words. With tears streaming down her cheeks she hopes this would be the first and last time she sees him. She wiped her tears and walked out of the room.

Kohaku didn't expect Rin to be home that night, but he had expected her to be home the next morning. However, Rin never shows up the next morning. When he got home from work, Kaede said Rin didn't come home. Kohaku didn't think anything of it because he thought Rin chose to stay with Sesshoumaru.

Another day went by and the servants began to worry about Rin. Kaede called Rin's friends but none of them knew where she was. Rin hasn't been at school either. Kaede got very worried so she talked to Kohaku and asked him to look for Rin.

"She will come home if she chooses to." He simply said.

"But Master Kohaku, she'd been gone for two days. It's not like her to not call." Kaede said with concern.

"What do you want me to do?" He snapped at her. Kaede backed up in surprise. She did not know what to say. Kohaku rolled his eyes and sighed loudly. "All right, I'll go find her."

"Headmaster Kaede!" A maid came yelling across the room. "Miss Rin is home!" Both Kohaku and Rin turned to the maid.

"Where is she?" Kaede asked.

"She's waiting for Master Kohaku in the study." She said looking at Kohaku. He arched a brow. "She asked to see you, Master Kohaku." Kohaku sighs and walks toward the study. The maid turned to Kaede. "What do you think happened to her?"

"I don't know but I am glad she's home." The maid nodded in agreement.

Rin was sitting in one of the chairs when Kohaku entered the study. He closed the door behind him. Rin stood up when she heard the door shut. She turned to him. The coldness in her eyes when she gazed at him made him feel uneasy. But he cast that feeling aside.

"He must be to your liking that you stayed with him more than one night." He said as he walked around her and stood beside her.

Rin's face went up in flames but she chose to ignore his comments. "I want a divorce." She put the paper on his desk.

Kohaku was taken aback by surprise and wasn't expecting her to ask him for a divorce. He glanced at the paper. "So I was right, you do indeed like the guy." He gave a short bitter laugh. Rin ignored his comment. "If I could divorce you, I wouldn't be standing here." He said dryly.

"In your father's will; if I choose to divorce you for any reason, I could." Kohaku did not respond to her comment. "I will get my things and be out of your way." She didn't wait for his response and went out without looking at him.

Kohaku had the strangest feeling in his chest, but it wasn't joy. Somehow he felt guilty for doing what he did. He knew he shouldn't be feeling that way but that feeling was not to his liking. He walked to the desk and sat down in the chair behind his desk. He grabbed the paper and read over it with a deep frown. He leaned back with a sigh as if he had just lost a battle.

Rin was packing in her room when Kaede walked in.

"Miss Rin, where are you going? What happened and where have you been?" She asked with worries in her eyes.

Rin turned to her with a weak smile. "I am fine. I am moving in with my friends."

"What? But…"

"Please, Kaede. I have made up my mind and I choose not to discuss this matter." She said softly with tears in her eyes.

Kaede had known Rin for a very long time and she also knew that nothing she said would change Rin's mind. She wondered what had happened between Rin and Kohaku. And what's with that mysterious man that came to pick Rin up.

"Thank you for taking care of me, Kaede. I will call you when I get settled down." She said and hugged Kaede. All Kaede could do was nod and return her hug. She then helped Rin carry her things down to the taxi that was waiting for her in front of the house.

Rin crossed paths with Kohaku in the living room. He grabbed her arm as she was walking past him.

He leaned next to her, "Just remember, you are still my wife. Don't think you can sleep around while the divorce is still in process." He said harshly.

Rin turned to him with a cold stare. "Since when was I your wife?!" She cried out bitterly. "Just do your part and sign the divorce paper." She breaked free from his grip and stormed off.

Kohaku's face flamed up with rage.
