Hello residents of Earth, and now since of the pentagon, residents of the whole Universe. Welcome to a new story I thought of.
A/N: Before anyone says anything, I know I disappeared from the screen of fanfiction. I got a massive case of writer's block and my sister left town and took our dogs. My mom and I both were very upset, angry, and betrayed as she left us high and dry with rent that my mom couldn't pay alone. (Single mother tingz.) I know that's no excuse, but it still took a while to get over it. I will be trying to post often now, but I'm several weeks behind on my schoolwork and will most likely be grounded if I don't hurry up and get caught up. The main reason why I wanted to start writing fanfiction again is because of the reason we aren't at school, the Coronavirus. I hope all of you are staying safe and are practicing self-quarantine. Also, to those of you who have contracted the virus, I hope that you recover safely and you don't suffer any after effects. Sorry for the long author's note. This is an AU story, OC son of Aphrodite, and he didn't go to camp at age 12. The story may have little cut sequences for explanations of what happened, like ghetto Ted Talks, but you don't have to read them, but it would make the story more understandable. Also, in this story, Josh is 12 and is in the mid-process of puberty. #relatable PS, I have gotten into Melanie Martinez songs, and also some of Khalid's songs, you can come for me, but don't come for them. Sorry for this long Author's Note. Sorry again, but Percy and the other PJO characters will be in future chapters, so hold onto your wigs until then.
ENJOY!
Chapter 1: Introductions
Josh's POV:
I was sitting in the kitchen of my father's penthouse, eating the oatmeal cookies that I had just made, when I heard a knock on the glass front door. I put my cookie down and walked across the marble floor and looked through the glass and saw a girl my age standing there.
She had auburn colored hair that went to her mid-back, and she had silvery-yellow eyes.
I opened the door, and she smiled at me and said, "Hi, are you Joshua Parris?"
I looked at her strangely, "Yes. What do you need?"
She looked around her worriedly and then asked, "Can I come inside?"
I nodded slowly and then said, "Close the door on your way in." I went back to the kitchen and continued eating my cookie. She came up to me and sat down on the counter. (Does anyone else do this?)
"I came here because my father, Zeus, found out that you were a child of Aphrodite, and you received all of her powers." The weird girl said.
"Let me stop you right there. What have you been smoking?" I asked while back away from her.
She rolled her eyes, "Will you just listen to me? He was planning on having you brought to the council to have you killed in front of everyone by his master bolt,"
I butted in, "Iconic."
"Not the point. Anyways, Aphrodite, your mother, asked me to hide you with my hunters. Normally I would've said no straight away, but I decided to look into your way of life. I watched you for around seven months, and decided that you could stay in my hunt, but not like that." She concluded.
I looked at her incredulously and said, "I'm going to ignore the fact that you just insinuated that I was not good enough for your cult, but why were you stalking me?"
She had a look of shock on her face before she replied, "I do not have a cult, and I wasn't stalking you, I was observing."
"Even when I was in the shower?" I asked.
She blushed before she said, "Umm, just go pack your stuff."
I nodded and then walked upstairs to my room. I grabbed my suitcases from the corner of my room, and when I turned around I saw a blond woman with blue eyes standing there smiling at me. "Uh, who the hell are you?" I asked as I looked towards the door.
"Well that's no way to speak to your mother." She said as she opened her arms.
My eyes watered before I ran into my mother's arms. "I thought you were gone forever." I choked out. (Okay Trisha Paytas getting cheated on by her boyfriend)
"Oh stop being dramatic." My mom said. I just laughed in response and hugged her tighter. She finally pulled away and held me at arms length, "You've grown up so fast! You're already so handsome."
I rolled my eyes at her, and then I asked, "Did you hear what that crazy girl said? She started talking about how you were the greek goddess Aphrodite, and that her father was Zeus. What do you think she's been smoking?"
She averted her eyes from mine, and from that moment I knew that everything that the girl said was true. She took a deep breath before saying, "I know this might sound crazy, but I am Aphrodite, the greek goddess of love and beauty. (Don't come at me with "She has more domains than that." because I don't really care) That girl over there is Artemis, the goddess of the moon, hunt, and maidens. I came here to give you the knowledge for all of your powers, and to say goodbye, as I won't be seeing you for a very long time."
My eyes were wide when she told me this. "So you're telling me that you, my mother, are Aphrodite?" She nodded in response. "And the girl that I disregarded as a cracked out runaway is the man-hater herself?"
"Umm, yes." She responded. "That's not important though. I only have a few more minutes before the gods get suspicious. As I said when I first got here, I need to give you the knowledge for all of your powers, and what you can do with them."
I was glad that she actually wanted to help me, but I thought that the powers that came with being a child of Aphrodite were just charmspeak, and that's even if I was going to have that. "Not that I'm not grateful that you would take the time out of your day to give me the knowledge of your powers, but isn't the only power I could use charmspeak?" I asked.
She just laughed and waved her hand over my face. (Who is she? a fairy godmother?) "You now should know how to wield the powers that I gave to you, but they will only get stronger the more you practice. As much as I would love to stay and chat, I have places to be and people to do." She said with a smile.
I know that most kids would hate to hear their parents talk like this, but what else was I to expect from the love goddess? "Don't get a STD." She just laughed and walked out of the room. A bright light momentarily flashed through my room, and then I heard footsteps coming towards my room. I cursed under my breath when I realised that I was supposed to be packing my clothes. I turned to my suitcases and saw a note on it signed From Mom.
I said a prayer to her in my head, and then grabbed both of the suitcases and walked out of my room and right into the girl, now known as Artemis. "Do you mind not walking into me in my own home?" I said, my french accent seeping heavily into my sentence. (Background Check Time)
The Background of Joshua Parris: (This part isn't necessary, but it will make things make much more sense. Just imagine that we are at a Ted Talk, Josh is the speaker, I am the background crew, and you, the readers, are the audience.)
Josh's POV:
"Hello everyone, welcome to my Ted Talk. I am Joshua Parris. I was born into a family of one, my father, Daniel Parris. My father owns and runs a multimillion dollar clothing company." (Just go with it)
"My mother comes and visits only when my father isn't around, but I'm still glad that she comes around. All of my past friends used me for popularity, and when I told them a secret of mine, they exposed me. The next day they looked online and found all of their secrets spilled, and me gone."
"You may think that I am a revengeful bitch, but I could care less. I'm an insecure 12 year old that is also suffering from depression. A lot of people say that I don't look like a fat potato, but I would like to say otherwise."
"Now moving onto my appearance, I have blond hair with a combover, and I have kaleidoscope eyes, I got those things from my mother. I eat about seven meals a day, but I am somehow only 120lbs, and I am 5'8." (Don't say that this is too tall, my friend is 12 too and is 5'11.)
"I have high cheekbones, long eyelashes, and full lips, I get those from my father. I have pale skin, and I don't have acne, I guess it's a perk of being the son of the love and beauty goddess. I am from Paris, France, and I lived there until I was seven, and then I moved to New York with my father as his company got progressively larger, and as such I have a french accent. Sometimes it is hard to understand me, especially when I am really excited, or really mad. Sometimes I just slip into French when I'm talking, and most of the time I don't realise it."
"I really like singing and dancing, and I am very flexible. I would like to say that I am nice to everyone, but if you cross me, you will get hurt. I don't care what other people say about me, or think about me, but I won't purposely do something that will get me made fun of."
"I've never gotten in trouble, people just find it too hard to punish me for anything, but I guess it was just the charmspeak. I have a best friend that still lives in Paris, but we talk almost everyday. Her name is Alice Colin, and she is the funniest person alive. She has platinum blond hair that goes to the small of her back, and bright blue eyes." (I shared the document to my cousin, and now her and her brother are writing this with me.)
"She may only be twelve, but she's not flat. I know it may sound like I like her, but I just think that she's very pretty, but I don't like her that way. She also speaks French, but she can't speak English like I can. Alice and I both haven't had any girlfriends or boyfriends, and we both haven't had our first kiss yet. She was going to fly to New York to come and visit, but she ended up not being able to come, because of family problems that I will not get into."
"Alice and I are both in the mid-process of puberty, but my voice doesn't crack as much as I thought it would. Oh, last thing before I go, Alice and I are also both bisexual. This is probably one of the main reasons that we are best friends, even though we aren't in the same country. Most of the people in middle school are still figuring out their sexuality, so it's nice to have someone who understands. I'm also supposed to wear glasses, but I just wear clear contact lenses. I will probably start to use my glasses when I go with Artemis, as I will be in the wild, and I won't be able to wash my hands often. Don't wanna lose my eyes while trying to put the contacts in."
"Well, thank you for coming and listening to my Ted Talk. I will hopefully see you next time I have to explain myself out of a scandal. Bye!"
Back to The Story:
Josh's POV:
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes before she forced a smile. "Did you finish packing?" She asked through clenched teeth.
"Mostly." I said as I got up from the floor. "I need to get my glasses, hygiene products, and accessories. I also need to take my phone, so are we going somewhere that has service?"
She looked at me as if I had three heads. "Do you not know who I am?" She asked. She then started to imminate a bright light, and before I knew it, the Artemis that I imaginated. Bright auburn hair, silvery-yellow eyes, ivory colored skin, a face only suitable for a goddess.
I nodded slowly before I backed away into my bathroom. I was used to packing fast, so I basically threw everything I needed into a bag, and went back to Artemis to ask if I could shower before we left, as it was already getting dark. "Is it okay for me to use the shower before we leave?" I asked.
She looked at me incredulously, and then sarcastically said, "Yeah, sure. Why don't you waste any more of my fucking time!"
Me, being the smartass I am, replied, "Okay. Be out in a little!" I then ran into the bathroom, locked the door, and turned on the water for the shower. I spent the precious ten minutes not looking at my body because I'm insecure, and scrubbing the stress out of me. When I got out of the shower, I brushed my teeth, and my hair, put in the hair products, and took out my contacts.
I forgot how bad my vision actually is, so I hurried up and put my glasses on. They're just ordinary black glasses, but they looked so weird on me, because I only wear them when I don't want to poke my eyes out trying to put in the contacts.
I put on deodorant, clothes, and then walked out of the bathroom. I found Artemis sitting on the couch, looking at the moon. I sat down on the couch farthest away from her and asked, "Where are you taking me anyways?"
Without looking towards me she replied, "You're going to travel with the hunt."
Welp, that was an absolute shit show. This is probably the worst thing that I have ever written in my life, but I was only running on 3 hours of sleep while writing most of this. If any of you have made it through to the end, thank you, and I appreciate you. This chapter was not really an actual chapter, but more of an introduction to my OC. There will be special guests in the story, like youtubers, or celebrities. This will be a very long story, but stay with me here. Bye!
Side Note, I just wanted to know if there were any Billie Eilish, Melanie Martinez, or Khalid fans still active on fanfiction. If any of you are reading this, hmu because I'm bored and have no friends. Also, none of my friends like any of them, so I have no one to talk to about them, and I feel like I will punch a wall if I don't find someone that likes them too. I was hesitant to post this, because this is my inner demons on a screen, and some people on fanfiction are so angry when they see stuff like this. A year ago, I had this other fanfiction account, and I posted a story on it, and this person had the nerve to say that I was an immature kid who didn't know how to write well. Now, y'all should know that I'm not a very good writer, but offline I am pretty mature if I do say so myself, but when a random stranger tries to come for me when her profile picture looks like Lord Farquaad! Also, I will be posting this the day after Mother's Day at 2:30 in the morning, so if this doesn't make sense, that's why. Rant over, but please pm me if you wanna talk about stuff, I'm always free because I have no life. I appreciate those of you who read through this, and my other stories, I wouldn't be anything without you. Fanfiction cures my depression, and seeing people like my stories is so shocking and heartwarming. See you in a bit!
