Well Here it is. I want to make it clear that this story was not written by me, but rather a close friend of mine who doesn't have an account. This story's date of creation is total coincidence, but happy April fools anyway. Thank you. -DavisIceElf

This story was written by - Lord Jonson the 18th- This is the rough draft Chapter One of "The Ghost of Vale" a story where Jaune Arc the "Guinee pig" of the RWBY Fandom dies during initiation but for some reason doesn't pass on but remains as a ghost and starts haunting the main cast of RWBY. I don't own any characters from RWBY they all belong to Rooster Teeth.

Jaune Arc stared down at his broken body. "No way! This is…there's no way!"Yet his body continued sit lifeless with the echo of his last scream still etched on his face.

Last thing he remembered was being thrown through the air by the death Stalker then pain.

He was so in shock he almost didn't notice Ruby's horror-struck face along with the shocked faces of Ruby's sister and some girl with a bow.

He also missed the ring of stones holding chess pieces which was a strange site in the Emerald Forest.

"Jaune? Hey Jaune you good?" asked Ruby voice full of concern.

"Obviously not since for some reason my body won't respond!" He tried waving in front of Ruby's face but she didn't seem to see him. He looked down at his body again. "Wait how am I even looking down on my…am I dead!? Didn't Pyrrha just unlock that aura thingy? How did I even…"

He was cut off as a big grimm suddenly burst into the clearing only to fall down crumpling on the ground. "Aww, its broken." Blinking Jaune stared at the orange haired girl who was on its back.

"Did she just ride in on a Ursa?" Asked the bow girl.

Jaune though, who still found the sight dumbfounding, couldn't help but feel there were more important things to think about.

Ruby stared shocked before turning back to Jaune's body and shaking shaking his body as if it would make a difference. "Yang! I don't think Jaune has a pulse!" Ruby's sister, Yang It seemed, walked over as the orange haired girl grabbed a castle shaped piece and started singing.

"I'm queen of the castle~ I'm queen of the castle~"

"Nora!" called a young man with pink in his hair.

She giggled. "Coming Ren~."

"Jaune's probably ok if he's got aura and knows how to use it like a competent human being, he'll be fine." Yang explained in a soothing tone of voice. Jaune blinked and gulped. Soothing. Real soothing.

Ruby looked down and stopped shaking him "He doesn't seem to be…" They suddenly heard a loud crash. Everyone looked over to see Pyrrha running from a Death stalker.

Literally two seconds later a scream was heard coming from the sky. "Wiess! I forgot" Ruby gasped "She going to-" Everyone winced as she crashed into the ground.

"I-I think I might have broken my tail bone…" Wiess groaned.

SMACK! Suddenly Pyrrha was sent sailing through the air by the Death stalker landing in front of Nora, ren and bow girl.

"Great." Grumbled Yang. "Now we can all die together."

"Bad idea trust me."

Nora grinned "Hey, let's pulverize it." Pulling out a grenade launcher she fired at the Death stalker. Everyone looked at each other. "Sure, why not?" Yang jumped in eager to join the fight.

Jaune turned back to his body. Ruby was still next to him unsure of wither to join the fight or not, when Pyrrha ran over. "Hey is Jaune all right he looks a-a…little…oh dear…" Pyrrha's face paled "Oh no this isn't good." Looking at Ruby she started asking "Have you tried-" A loud Screech filled the sky and suddenly feathers started flying at those fighting the Death Stalker.

"The Nevermore!" Someone yelled.

"We should run for it. All we need is the chess pieces." Called out the bow girl.

Wiess, still limping from earlier, called out "Good idea! Let's go!"

"Hey wait hold on a moment."

Ruby alarmed said"Wait what about Jaune? He's still-"

Yang cut her off "We'll just take him with us."

Pyrrha grimaced "I'll carry him he deserves proper…"

"It's time to MOVE! Wiess called" The others nodded and followed after.

Invisible to them all Jaune tired following them but for a moment couldn't move.

"Wait hold on!"

He watched as they all ran ahead of him struggling to even move "Come on why can't I move I was able to move my arm earlier how come I…? Maybe if I just will myself to move."

As it turned out this was a better line of thinking as he was suddenly able to move. "Good now to go get back to my body!" He started to glide after the group as they fled towards some ruins that resided next to a cliff.

"Oh, come on can't I move any faster?" Jaune complained.

He was easily overtaken by the Death stalker while trying to catch up and by the look of things it was engaging the group of teens at a bridge that crossed said cliff. As he looked around while catching up, he couldn't help but admire the misty valley they were currently in.

Finally arriving he moved around the Death Stalker just in time to see something that would traumatize him for life. Or death depending on how you wish to interpret it.

As they were running across the bridge the Nevermore smashed the bridge right between the group. Sending a few of them rolling however none of them fell off. Pyrrha still holding Jaune's body blinked then turning around saw she was on the side with the Death stalker along with the bow girl and Ren.

Nora looking over and seeing they needed help launched herself over. Accidently in the process knocking the bow girl into Jaune's body sending it plummeting into the fog below.

None of them heard Jaune's overly girly scream.

They did however hear Pyrrha's scream of shock and the bow girl's gasp of horror.

"Nononononono. Oh no, this is all just a bad dream. Yeah that's it bad dream. Like the one's were you fall then wake up afterwards." He nodded confidently.

"I'll close my eyes and when I open them, I'll be waking up for a initiation." He did this twice just in case the first was a fluke.

When nothing happened other than the fighting getting more intense with Pyrrha screaming bloody murder as she chopped the Deathstalker into pieces. Jaune truly began to panic.

"What's going on?! Am I actually dead now?! Can anyone hear me?!" at the end he was almost whispering. Not really the best way to test if someone can hear you, however he was having something of an existential crisis.

He blinked considering "If I find my body maybe I'll be able to do something." Looking down he willed himself down.

"I'll come back guys. Just wait for me."

It was dark when he finally gave up on looking for his body.

All he was able to find was he's sword Crocea Mors. It was dropped by the bridge apparently before his body fell.

"I guess it's good to know there is still some small piece of me." he sighed.

Looking around he thought about he's situation.

"Ok. So, it looks like I'm dead now. Or maybe in so kind of limbo." Moving his hands up and down his body he grimaced. "Looks like I can still touch myself at least. What about...?" He willed himself to move to a nearby rock putting his body inside.

"Nope, doesn't look like I can affect physical matter." As he sat there, he heard Beowolves howling in the distance as well as the wind picking up. He mentally shivered, then laughed.

"Me? Scared of Grimm when I myself am a ghost." Smirking he moved out of the rock. This as it turned out was a mistake.

"Whaaaa?! The wind can blow me but I'm a Ghooooooooooooooooosst!" His cry echoed in the valley as he was blown away. He didn't notice then sudden silence of the Beowolves.

When he was fortunately able to maneuver into the cliffside he considered this new development.

"I can be affected by wind pressure. Why though? Does that mean I have some substance after all?" Now that he thought about it there had been wind earlier in the day when all the fighting had gone down and he had felt a slight tugging but not enough to pull him anywhere.

"Interesting is it stronger winds that affect me more or is it something else?" Just to inform any higher beings that take amusement in watching Jaune Arc and his troubles he has not gotten over the shock of death that quickly. No, he is choosing to focus on other things to take his mind off his situation as his state of being learns to adapt to a different from of existence. But enough about that.

"Also, how fast can I go? I haven't tried hitting a max speed yet. Not to mention I can exist in this wall but not see, guess that makes sense though." Humming he poked his head out of the wall.

"There is still some wind but it's more like a breeze now." Moving out of the wall he looked around.

"I fought the wind last time what if I use it." Turning the way then wind was blowing he willed himself to blow with the wind.

It was an awesome feeling. He was flying pure and simple. The way he moved between the mist in the moon light he could feel the wind! The rush it was so exhilarating. Whooping he rose into the air echoes of his laughter filling the sky. This was what something he'd never had thought he would want the pure thrill looking around taking in the mountains the moon the rushing feeling he got as he soared. Never in his life had anything been like this.

"If I still had my body, I'd probably be sick." Still flying his smile suddenly vanished.

"What do I do know?" He'd been avoiding this question for some time until he could avoid it no longer.

"If I really am dead what can I do is there someplace I need to go? Or I'm I one of those unfished business guys?" He shuttered "Why did I even come to Beacon?! I had no combat training I still don't fully get what aura is. Some kind of force field my butt where was it when I…" Trailinginto silence he remembered all the times he'd doubted himself, when others doubted him. Heck even his own family yet even past all that why did he come.

.

.

.

"To be a Hero."

It all came back. "I guess they were all right in the end I didn't make it in. Ha! I even died trying." Looking up at the broken moon he considered his old dream then laughed

"Well if I can't be a hero then those at Beacon can be!" He might not be able to fulfill his family legacy but that didn't mean he couldn't go and see how the next generation of Hero's would turn out.

"Besides if I am dead it should give me something to do." he reasoned with himself.

Rising high into the air he suddenly laughed "Hear that Ruby? Pyrrha? Snow Angel? I'm coming to watch you and if any of you slack off and I mean any of you I'll haunt you till the end of your days." His laughter could be heard all across the Emerald Forest as the wind continued to blow.

The Grimm in the forest heard the noise and whether you believe it or not they shivered.

Hey thanks for reading part one of "The Ghost of Vale" any constructive feed back is welcome this is one of my first times writing a story. I can tell you that Davis IceElf was very critical but helped me a lot. Hope all of you are having a good day and that this story made it a tad more enjoyable.
