AN: What's this? A random modern!Cowboy drabble appears. This song gave me modern!Cowboy feels. #sorrynotsorry

"Baby, lay on back and relax, kick your pretty feet up on my dash

No need to go nowhere fast, let's enjoy right here where we at

Who knows where this road is supposed to lead

We got nothing but time

As long as you're right here next to me, everything's gonna be alright

If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be

Baby, just let it be

If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be

Baby, just let it be

So, won't you ride with me, ride with me?

See where this thing goes

If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be

Baby, if it's meant to be."

Meant to Be, Bebe Rexha

"Where are we going?"

"Does it matter?"

"It does if you're driving my truck."

"Who says we have to be going anywhere?"

"I do."

Mina takes a look at the gauges on the dashboard and says, "We have plenty of gas, so it doesn't really matter where we go."

Keith crosses broad forearms. "Then what is the reason to even be in the car?"

In response, Mina turns up the radio and begins signing (badly) along with One Direction. Keith turns the volume down and lifts an eyebrow in expectation. "Fine, you want a reason? We need cat food for Artie."

"You missed the turn for the pet store."

"I'm sure there will be other pet stores."

"Hmph."

"So you've never just got in the car and driven?"

"Not recently. I drive to work. I drive home. I go to the gym."

"Yeah you do." Mina can't help but reach over and squeeze the nearest bicep. She does it because the action makes her stoic roommate wildly uncomfortable, but also because she's a warm-blooded woman, and she loves touching him more than she should. Even for an experienced flirt, she's become rather shameless in inventing reasons to make contact with him.

"Hmph."

And then Mina launches into some conversation about which of the One Direction boys she thinks is the cutest which leads to an entire conversation about boy bands and any other number of topics ranging from music to books and a few childhood memories. Before Keith realizes it, they've been driving for an hour and are outside the city limits.

Mina points at a sign, "Score!"

"What?"

"A park. Let's pick up some food and explore. Or, is there somewhere you have to be?"

At this moment, looking across the cab, blonde hair flowing, cheeks rosy, blue eyes sparkling - Keith realizes he is in much deeper trouble than he thought. "No, I'm where I want to be."

AN: For the record, in this scenario, I am K and prefer driving with a purpose. :P
