"My Lord, Zakari reports that the second batch of subjects has been prepared and stationed within the Factorum." John crouched by his high-gain Vox unit struggling to maintain the signal as it bounced through 27 relay stations on the ground and in orbit. It was hard work but it was the only way to get a transmission through the Haywire field that the Drukhari raiding party was broadcasting across this Minoris Knight World. From outside the bunker he could hear the towering Questoris constructs fighting a losing battle against hyper-mobile Xenos flyers. The Knights were mighty but they would not be enough to prevent the majority of the world's limited population from being taken back to the foulness of their Dark City.

The Inquisitor didn't answer him, as usual, just a slight inclination of his head indicated that he had received the message. Jhon sent an acknowledgement back to the awaiting Acolyte. They weren't there to save this world or it's population; they were there to carry out the Inquisitor's plan to map Commorragh. On the other side of the dank and windowless chamber the Inquisitor stood before a group of sallow and subdued prisoners. Each one with a pathetic look in their eyes from the crude control implant in the base of their skulls. The Inquisitor had explained that these were the 'Trojaens' - an archaic term that the Inquisitor had used. Their purpose was to be taken by the Drukhari and to carry the cartographic beacons that had been implanted in them, back through the webway gates that the Xenos used to conduct their raids. The idea was that the Inquisitor would be able to track the beacons and produce the first Imperial map of what lay beyond those gates.

It had been three years since Jhon had entered the Inquisitor's service, since that day when Jhon's faith had brought him out of the dark caverns below the Alcazar. He'd done some terrible things since making his choice to join the service of the Ordo Xenos Pacificus and to follow the Inquisitor who he now obeyed without question or hesitation. The only thing that bothered him still, was the fizzing he still felt in his skull. Even though the fizzing still that told him that everything he was doing was right, told him to obey his Lord and keep his faith. He felt it as he sent message acknowledgement and watched Trojaens being goaded up a ramp to where he could hear the Drukhari Raiders scream overhead.
