AN: Man, I love this quote and have been trying to figure out where to use it for months. A carry on of sorts from the space!cowboy verse (#92).

God should have made girls lethal / When he made monsters of men. ~Elisabeth Hewer

They were untried in battle, yet battle weary.

Trained by their fathers, the weight of a thousand generations has been instilled upon the quartet, but they had only sparred against each other - left wanting for duels and combat against those who thought them lesser.

Now, with men no longer thinking clearly, it was upon their shoulders to turn the direction of the universe back in alignment. Four souls against millions.

Well, perhaps five.

Venus stepped forward to the Lunar crown princess, noticing a weapon the likes she had never seen before. It was a gun, made completely clear, shining like a diamond. Her father had told her of such a device - one thought long ago lost to history. The Ginzuishou gun. Said to aim true, to never miss, to be capable of taking down an army in a single blow… There was nothing else it could be.

How had they missed the birth of such a sister?

Mercury scanned the weapon and asked, "But where has it been? All this time?"

As if caressing a lover, Serenity's fingers danced lightly over the trigger of the gun. "There were women before us. This fight has happened before. In the time before men, there were female guardians, and this gun has been passed down in secret. The hope was that it would never be needed again."

Mars lifted an eyebrow, "But here we are."

Serenity nodded.

Mercury asked, "Where does the evil originate?"

Serenity squinted her blue eyes and pointed straight ahead. "The earth."

"But they haven't held true power for years," The young Jovian woman scoffed. "How could they possibly command that sort of energy?"

"She's right. however, there was some sort of alien source corrupted the planet at the same time the men turned." It was Mars who answered.

"So what?" Venus asked. "It's our guns against an entire planet? I'm not sure of your training, highness, but mine actively forbids a suicide attempt. The way of the gun is in measure and life, not undue sacrifice."

"This is a battle for the universe itself. If we do not stop them-"

"Them?" Venus asked.

Serenity nodded. "You will have heard of the four warriors."

The quartet nodded. Jupiter said, "My father trained for a time on the planet. They are said to be immortal."

Mars looked down. "They were said to be unchangeable. Good. Loyal. What happened?"

Serenity looked to the glittering surface below. "Things change. And now we must prepare. There is not much time left."

"Before what?" Venus asked.

Serenity nodded at her gun. "While I've never called upon them, this weapon is said to have immense healing powers. In the way of my training, restoration is the goal - not killing."

Venus caught the eye of the other young women. This is not the way they were trained. "We can try your way, highness, but if not, we will honor our fathers and training, and they will know our ability."

"That is fair." Serenity walked towards one of the great buildings and said, "Let our planning being now. Time is precious."
