Jamie's heart broke as he heard Eddie's sniffles through the closed bathroom door. It's been almost three years since they've started trying for a baby and they've had no success. At first, they thought they were trying too little. Then, it was because they were trying too much. When it came to the point that they started putting the blame on themselves individually, they decided to make an appointment with the local fertility clinic to get some answers on what the problem was. They had their appointment the following Wednesday.

"Eddie," he said knocking on the door. "Let me in."

He heard her rustling around for a minute heard the door unlock. She opened up the door and stepped back to let him in.

"Aw Eddie," he said taking in her appearance. She was dabbing the few tears that were still running down her face. "Come here." She laid her head on his chest and started to cry again. He kissed the top of her head, "It'll happen, honey. I know it will."

"But what if it doesn't," she cried. "I feel like we've been trying for so long. And days like this doesn't make it any better. I'm happy for all the women who get to be moms but I want to be apart of that club too."

"I know you do, Eddie. And I want you too. But don't get discouraged. We have the appointment this week. There's still so many options we have left to consider."

She nodded and sighed against his chest, "I know. I know. It's just frustrating."

He rubbed circles on her back, "I know it is." Jamie stayed hugging her for a few more minutes before she gasped and wriggled out of his arms.

"What's wrong?" he asked confused.

"I'm so sorry, Jamie," she said feeling bad. "I'm over here crying about me that I forgot how today is for you. How are you?"

He gave her a small smile, "I'm fine. It doesn't get any easier but you learn how to get through it better."

She leaned up and kissed his cheek, "I love you."

"I love you too," he replied tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "You hungry? I made some pancakes."

"Sounds good," she replied. They walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen where the food was already on the table.

"What time are we meeting the family?" she asked as she sat down beside him.

"We need to be at the cemetery by three," he replied. "After that, we'll go back to dad's house and have dinner."

She nodded and tucked into her breakfast. He reached out and tugged her hand.

"It'll happen for us, Eddie. If it's not this year, then it'll be next year or the year after that. I'm not going to lose faith. We're gonna do this."

She ran her thumb across his knuckles. She wished that she had his confidence about the situation.

A few hours later, she had an arm wrapped around Jamie's back as they walked away from the Reagan family plots.

"Are you okay, honey?" she asked him softly.

"Yeah," he replied giving a quick kiss to the top of her head. "I just wish she was here to see how we are now. She still had so much life to live. I wish she could've met you. I know that you two would've gotten along very well."

Eddie nodded in agreement, "I wish I could've met her too. I'm sure she's so proud of all of you, Jamie."

He flashed a quick smile. They got back to the car and followed the rest of the Reagan convoy back to Frank's house for dinner.

After getting home from Frank's, Jamie was putting the leftovers in the fridge while Eddie was in the bathroom taking off her makeup and getting ready for bed.

"Jamie!" she screeched. "Come here! Hurry!"

He chucked the last container into the fridge and ran to her.

"What!?" he asked frantically. "What is it? Are you okay!?"

He made into the bathroom and was greeted to Eddie in tears ... holding a positive pregnancy test.

"Look!" she cried.

"Woah," he said looking wide eyed at her then at the test. It took a minute to register in his mind before he gathered her into his arms and held her tight.

"I can't believe it," she whispered happily into his ear. "It's actually happening, Jamie."

"I knew it would," he replied. He cupped her face in his hands and gave her a long, sensuous kiss.

"When did you take it?" he asked as he pulled away.

"Just now. It was the last one I had," she said placing the pregnancy test on the counter and wrapping her arms around his neck. "I've had a feeling for a couple of days but was too afraid to take it because I felt like it was going to be another negative but something just told me that I needed to take it."

"I'm glad you did," Jamie said smiling down at her. "What's next?"

"Well... I need to make an appointment with the doctor and make sure everything is good so far."

Jamie nodded, "Okay. Should we still go to the appointment on Wednesday?"

"I think so," she replied. "Just to see what they tell us."

"How far along do you think you are?" he asked. They walked out of the bathroom and sat down together on the bed. "Six? Seven weeks maybe?"

"More than likely." She went back into the bathroom and brought out the test, smiling happily as she sat back down beside Jamie. "I'll admit, I was losing faith but after our talk this morning, going to the cemetery then hanging out with the family, something told me that everything was going to be alright."

He leaned in and pecked her lips, "I love you."

She smiled into the kiss, "I love you, too. I'm gonna go get my phone and take a picture of this," she patted his leg and walked out of the room.

Jamie laid back on the bed and sighed happily. Nine months from now, there'd be an extension of him and Eddie making their way into the world. And he couldn't wait.

He looked up and smiled, "Thank you."
