Chicago, 1988

It was a dark night in Chicago, and the wind howled. Usually, one wouldn't mind; it was called the Windy City, after all. However, tonight felt unnaturally chilly. Whether it was due to the wind, or because of the ground, no one was sure. Or perhaps it was because of the events that were unfolding on the nightly news.

Tiffany Valentine found herself sitting on the couch in the apartment that she and her lover, Charles Lee Ray, shared, listening intently to what the news anchor said.

"In other news, reports have come in that Charles Lee Ray, better known as the Lakeshore Strangler, was gunned down in a toy store just last night." the news anchor exclaimed. "The police officer on the scene, Detective Mike Norris, states that he tracked Ray there and fatally shot him. According to Norris, the Strangler's final words were that of a foreign language, as lightning struck and destroyed the building-"

Tiffany shut off the television set, a grin was plastered on her face. She knew her Chucky was still out there, and she didn't care how long it would take to find him. Even if she had to kill to get to him…

A/N: Special thanks to gussygus28 for the idea for this fic! Before I go forward, I'm just going to hint at what to expect in this fic:

- Tiffany will be popping up sparingly in this story, similar to how she did in the Cult of Chucky movie. Like Cult, she also won't appear in her doll form.

- This fic will closely follow Child's Play 3, though some scenes will be slightly longer, or shortened a little bit.

- Lastly, I either added or changed some of the dialogue that some of the soldiers from Kent say to model my own time at Basic. Some of the things Shelton or Ellis say that wasn't in the movie, are actual quotes from drill sergeants. Also, almost every chapter will have a military cadence in it, or at least how I was told to sing it. I'm not sure when they were actually written, so I don't know if they'd be accurate for the time Child's Play 3 is set in. If not, let me know, and I'll change it.

Anyway, let's get this show on the road.
