Mathilde: Thank you so much and don't worry I sometimes cry while writing because I try to get into my characters's heads so those starting chapters were hard on me.

The door swung open, banging against the wall, to reveal Jason. He was panting and sweating but he managed to get out.
"The army, it's here. The titans are attacking."
Nico POV
No no.
This couldn't be happening. Not now.
Not now.
I turned to look at Percy, his eyes were wide, and all the colour had drained from his face. But apart from that he hadn't moved. He was frozen in place by fear.
"Nico you are needed in the war room." Jason continued, he was Roman there was no emotion in a time like this just duty. "They need to see Percy too. I know it's a lot, but we need to get him to safety, I think there is a plan."
I nodded at Jason, mumbling something about being there and he took off carrying on the preparations.
"Percy" I said "Percy" I placed a hand on his shoulder, the older demigod whipped his face towards me and grabbed my arm. He was terrified. "Percy, you are not going to see them. Do you hear me, we are going to get you out of here?"
He nodded stiffly.
At least he was listening to me. "Percy, we have to go to the war room. You heard Jason." I told him. "There will be a lot of people in there and I know you don't like that, but I'll be there, and you can stay with me until we know who is going to be with you." His green eyes were filled with uncertainty but he eventually he nodded a little.
If it meant he didn't have to see any titans Percy would see anyone else he needed to.
I stood up and Percy followed, sliding his hand back into mine for security. I looked straight into his eyes. "You will be safe, I promise."
That was the last thing I said before slipping into the shadows and taking us to the war room.
Percy POV
The war room was not what I had expected it to be.
When I was fighting the titans when I was 16 the closest the camp had to a war room was the ping pong table in the councillors' room. That was nothing like the operation going on in the new war room.
The room was mainly filled by a large square table that had many, many seats around it. At least thirty. The walls were covered with blue prints and maps of the camp and its surroundings. And the room was buzzing with people putting armour on and trying to figure out how to best arrange the demigods to win.
Nico and I entered in the back corner and stayed there out of the way of all the people, hidden by a shadow. I kept a tight grip on Nico the whole time. The room rapidly filled with people who all took their seats, Nico informed me that they were the cabin councillor, the New Olympus spokesmen, the immoral campers and, obviously, Chiron.
Just as the last person entered the room there was a bright flash at one side of the table. The gods had joined us.
Immediately, Lady Athena stepped forward and called for attention.
"Demigods, we have been preparing for this day so let's get straight into the planning. The hunters of Artemis are currently with your comrades sorting them out into sections, the Romans are also preparing the legion and will come through the portal as soon as they are ready to join you." She began.
"I estimate that the army contains five thousand monsters along with a few titans." Oh no, they were really coming. The titan army was on the other side of the border waiting for their signal to attack.
"This means that we gods are going to be positioned on half blood hill to aid you in any way we can. And, if a titan joins the fight, we will be here to fight against them. The immortal demigods know which sections of our force they command, and you will answer to them on the field, councillors you are below them in charge of your cabin. You have drilled for this now it is time."
Finally, Zeus stood "Everyone except the gods and the immortal campers are dismissed" he then waited for everyone to shuffle out before carrying on. "Perseus, Nico step forwards and join us."
Nico gave my hand a small squeeze before pulling me out of the shadows to sit at the table with the others. There were a few gasps from the demigods who had not seen me since the day they rescued me, but I tried my best to ignore them and stare straight ahead at the god.
"Are you ready to fight Perseus?" Zeus asked me in a stern tone. What? What? I thought Nico said I wasn't fighting, I thought I could do what I wanted and stay away from this war. I turned to Nico in panic and on seeing my face he turned to the gods.
"Brother" he was cut off by Poseidon "we spoke about this; my son will not fight unless he wants to. It is his choice, not yours or anyone else's." The gods were silent for a moment before my father turned to me. "Do you want to fight Percy?" he asked me in a gentle voice.
"N-no, my lord." I spluttered, hoping he would not smite me for it. Nico squeezed my hand again but I didn't dare to look at him.
"Then it is settled." Poseidon declared. "Percy you are to go with Hestia and stay with the other peaceful gods on Olympus, you will not be near this battle." I nodded, grateful to be getting away from my tormentor and his army.
As I stood to leave I turned to look at Nico one last time. "Be safe." I whispered to him before moving to go to Lady Hestia.
"You too." I heard his quiet voice reply. I smiled slightly to myself as Hestia placed a hand on my shoulder and flashed us to Olympus.
When I opened my eyes, I was in what seemed to be a cottage, however by the fact that I had travelled her with Lady Hestia I guessed it was her palace.
"Come over here" the goddess beckoned me with a wave of her tanned arms. The goddess was appearing in a form similar to my own physical age of eighteen, she had her fiery ginger hair tied up above her head and was swirling her finger in a basin of water chanting in Ancient Greek when I reached her.
As I got there she turned towards me and I realised that her irises flickered, glowing orange like a flame, it was odd but comforting in a way.
"I have enchanted this for you" she told me "you can watch the battle as a whole by saying 'all' or watch a specific person by saying their name. You don't have to if you don't want to, but I thought it might reassure you to know what is happening."
I thanked the goddess quietly and she left with a final word of "I'll be out here with the other gods who have stayed if you need anything."
As soon as she had gone I fell back on to one of the soft couches. Now out of immediate danger I couldn't hold myself together.
In the war room I had been terrified and shocked into silence and just doing what people said, but now all alone. My emotions finally came forwards.
Honestly, I was petrified I knew that the titans would be going to camp and that even with their magical border many of the demigods wouldn't make it through the day.
But I also knew that he would be looking for me. Lord Kronos was at camp trying to get me back.
I hoped and prayed that he would get annoyed at my disappearance and attack with the monsters so that the gods could try and take him down, but I knew that he wasn't a rash king.
If Lord Kronos couldn't have his prize, then he wouldn't give the gods freedom from the Ancient Laws to attack him and his army.
No. He would wait and come for me another day.
By this point tears were flowing freely down my face, I had just accepted that I was free with the demigods, with Nico, and now he was trying to take my freedom again. I couldn't go back to that I couldn't.
I shook my head again and again trying to rid myself of his cruel laugh and the pain he caused but I couldn't.
It was as if he was next to me whispering in my ear "You will be mine again, don't get used to being with them."
I shuddered and stood up with a start.
I walked towards the hearth trying to get some heat into my body, it seemed impossible. As I stood there I caught a look at my reflection in the mirror.
It had been a long time since I last saw myself and now I understood why there had been no mirror in my room at camp. I looked awful.
'How can Nico possibly stand to look at me?' I thought as I traced the ugly scar that ran across my entire face, tears still rolling down my face.
Hurriedly I turned away from the mirror and settled back onto the couch. I needed Nico, I needed to know that he was ok.
I quickly picked up the bowl of water and whispered his name into it. The surface rippled softly and then cleared to show an image of him stood on top of half blood hill, just finishing buckling his armour.
The battle was about to begin and all I could do was sit and wait, hoping that he lived.
So that's it for now but in the next chapter we will be jumping straight into the fight with Nico.
See ya.
