Hi guys. I know this is late but by the time I realised I had forgotten to post it was already Friday so I decided to just skip a week, sorry.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Demigod208 for all your comments yesterday, they were amazing to read.

Nico POV
I stood there watching the monster army in the distance. It was a horrific sight, once again seeing thousands of monsters marching towards my home.

Morbidly I wondered who would make it through the day, and which of us would not. I hoped that all the demigods could make it through this, but I knew that some were not prepared for the horrors of war.

Yes, the youngest were to stay inside the boundaries of camp, protected by Thalia's tree, but if any monsters were to slip past us they would be our last line of defense.

I prayed to the gods that none of them would have to fight at such a young age – they weren't ready.

I was broken from my thoughts by a hand on my arm. Hazel. I could tell from the look in her eyes that she knew just what I was thinking of, but then again, I think we were all thinking the same thing. As immortal campers we had seen too much war in our life times and knew how horrid it could truly be.

"Come on." she told me before pulling me away from the crest of the hill to where our friends were finishing getting ready.

Here the atmosphere was grim and serious. Annabeth had her blonde hair tied back tightly and was finalising the battle plans with Jason, who would be leading the Romans that had come to aid us.

Piper was fussing around Leo not far away. You'd think after all these years he would manage to put his armour on properly, but apparently not. Piper was redoing the buckles on Leo's bronze chest plate while trying to explain to him for the thousandth time how to do it himself. Leo did not seem to be paying attention, instead he was fiddling with the propeller on a small flying device he had pulled from his tool belt.

As soon as we got to the others Hazel had left me and gone to sit with Frank, they were talking in hushed tones. Waiting for us to begin.

"How's it going?" I asked Jason.

"Not bad, just running through some last-minute changes to our formations based on the amount of monsters." He told me.

"Ok, well don't be long - they're nearly here." I was about to turn away to go sit with my sister when Annabeth spoke up.

"No worries. We're done." She said, picking her helmet and sliding it on before going to stand in front of the campers.

Jason gave me a grim look before picking up his own helmet and following her lead to stand in front of the Romans. Within a few seconds the others had collected their own equipment and weapons before taking their own positions in front of our collective force.

Once we were all there they demigods soon quietened to listen to what we had to say.

"Demigods! Greeks and Romans!" Jason began "Today, on this battle field, there will be nothing between us. We fight together as children of the gods, because this threat is to us all."

"It doesn't matter that we are fighting at Camp Half-Blood and not Camp Jupiter." Annabeth continued. "Because we are fighting the titans," the mood darkened further "and they will do whatever they can to tear down everything you, we, hold dear."

"But," I yelled, trying to lift their spirts "whatever comes at you out there. Know that we stand together, as friends, as family and as children of the gods. We will win this battle and we will win this war! We have done it before and we can do it again. Come on!"

At my final word the demigods let out a feral cheer as they prepared themselves to go over the crest of the hill to fight.

As I turned I shared a nod with Jason, who then turned to Piper to share one last kiss with her before they went their separate ways to lead our forces. I turned away to give them some privacy and began the ascent up the last part of the hill. As I marched I slipped by black helmet onto my head and locked the visor into place.

I took a deep breath. Not knowing what was about to happen, but knowing it had to be done.

After what felt like a life time, but can only have been a few minutes, all the demigods were over the hill. The archers led by Frank stood to the left of us, the Hunters of Artemis mirrored them on the right – led by Thalia. Our Cavalry on their pegasi were at the back, preparing to take off, Hazel on Arion was giving them last minute instructions before they took to the sky.

Jason and Piper, to the right of me, each controlled half of the Roman army and had then in two triangles of shield walls, ready to penetrate into the monster army. Similarly, Annabeth and Leo controlled the Greeks, they weren't in a neat formation like the Romans, but I knew that the campers would be ok - Annabeth had a plan.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, summoning fifty skeleton warriors to me. When I opened my eyes there were probably just over one hundred. I sent a quick prayer of thanks to my father before leading the army further down the hill, stopping just one hundred meters from our enemies.

"Is this all you've got Olympians?" A cruel voice laughed. A shudder ran through me, but I held my ground, as did the rest of the demigods. "Look at them all, acting tough. You hide behind weak children." I began to search the army for him but then I realised I did not have to as I could see the monsters parting in the middle, clearing him a path to the front.

I took a few steps forwards, my hand on my sword hilt ready. I could see that my friends had done the same.

So, we waited, a few meters in front of everyone else. Just waiting for the titan lord to reach the front.

We didn't have to wait long.

Clad in pure gold armour that would've made Apollo jealous, Kronos strode forwards out of the army. He wore no helmet, 'cocky' I thought, so I could see the horrid smirk that stretched across his face as he grew to his nine foot form.

"Ah, if it isn't the little immortal campers." He mocked. "Look at you all, you truly think you can win this. But you can't." he took a step forwards and spread his arms wide. "I'm a merciful king, if you surrender now you won't ALL die."

"We will never surrender to you Kronos!" Annabeth yelled back at him.

"You," Kronos deadpanned, looking straight at the daughter of Athena "have you not learned that you cannot beat me yet? I took the boy you first loved from you, what was his name again...? Lewis? Leo?"

"Luke Castellan" Annabeth growled unsheathing her drakon bone sword "he died to stop you."

"Yes, that was it." The titan dismissed as if she wasn't ready to rip his throat out. "And then I took your other boyfriend. How is Perseus by the way?" he asked sweetly.

"He's fine." I cut in drawing their attention before Annabeth did something she regretted. "And he isn't here, so don't bother trying to find him."

With that I drew my stygian iron sword and yelled "ATTACK!"

I took off running the short distance left between us, knowing the demigods would follow. The titan didn't look worried, he simply gestured towards us and the monsters charged.

Within seconds I was in striking distance of a dracaena, I didn't waste a moment in plunging my sword into her neck before spinning and ripping it free – driving it home into the next one.

I was quickly forced to roll as I felt a spear aim for my head before a skeleton broke it in half and went on attacking the monster responsible.

A beat later I was back on my feet and slashing my way into the monsters ahead of me.

As I attacked I would occasionally catch a glimpse of one of my friends tearing their way through the monsters or a monster a head of me would suddenly fall to the ground with an arrow in its neck.

Adrenaline coursed through me as I kept pressing ahead.

It only took a minute or so before I felt the first. I didn't know who. I didn't know how. I didn't know where. I just knew that the first hero had fallen, and that there would be many more.

I soon fell into the cacophony of battle. Not really aware of what was happening, but at the same time hyper-aware of everything.

My senses tingled, and my muscles hummed as I performed the deadly dance of battle.

I knew when a hell hound had pounced behind me that I had to spin and slide across the floor, letting it sink its claws into the cyclops I had been fighting before driving my blade into its back.

For a while time was meaningless, and it could have been with the titan of time nearby, where ever he had run off to, but after a while I could feel the army of monsters start to thin. Through them I caught a glimpse of Leo, his whole body a blaze as he threw his flaming hammers.

Quickly I fought my way towards him, his fire seemed to be attracting a lot of attention. I saw a cyclops raise its club high above its head, ready to make him into a Leo pancake. I wasn't close enough. Leo would die. Without a second thought I launched my sword at the monster. It hit it in the gut and the cyclops stumbled back in pain, already disintegrating. For a second, I was pleased. Before I realised I was weaponless.

I drove into a roll, springing back to my feet as an axe appeared where I had just been. "Leo!" I called out. By killing the cyclops I had gained his attention but now the Latino boy saw the danger I was in.

He blasted fire towards the monster and dashed for my blade where it lay on the ground. The flames had pained and distracted the monster which I now saw to be a highly irritated empulsa.

I scrambled forwards, driving closer to Leo as I saw him throw my sword towards me. Luckily, I caught it by the handle and swung around just in time to cleave the monster in two.

It didn't take long from there for the two of us working together, light and dark, to dispatch of the remaining monsters around us.

We twisted and turned, each protecting the other's back. I hacked and slashed at the monsters, while Leo produced hammer after hammer from his belt and threw them at his enemies and occasionally producing a larger one to swing.

Eventually Leo threw a final hammer at the head of a manticore, it wasn't enough to kill him, but it certainly got his attention while I crept up behind and cut the beasts tail off. Without its tail the monster was basically defenceless. Leo quickly dispatched of it by swinging a celestial bronze hammer and hitting it in the head.

Together we turned and saw the rest of the monsters being dealt with by demigods or running for their lives while our archers picked off the slow ones.

I could see Kronos standing in the tree line that the monsters were slowly disappearing into. "I'll have him next time, god spawn." His menacing voice rang through my head before he too disappeared in a flash of light.

I stared after him for a second, catching my breath, before I ran after Leo to go help the last few campers who were fighting.

Within minutes the battle was over, and everyone was back, just inside the boundary, getting patched up with the help of Apollo and his campers before the people who could set out to collect the bodies. We had to get them back before curious monsters and animals started to come and scavenge, they died as heroes. They deserved to be treated as such.

Ok so... first battle. I'm not great at writing the fight scenes I'm sorry. But next chapter we will see the after math of the battle, who is dead, who is injured that sort of thing. (And Percy is back in camp)

But for now I shall be going, see ya.
