Weiss sighed as she walked from Professor Quart's class. It was the only class she didn't have with her teammates. It was, of course, to increase her stamina. If she hoped to keep up with her teammates she needed to increase her stamina.

She was currently exhausted as she went to return to her dorm. She still had Professor Port's class to sit through. She groaned before she paused and looked out one of Beacon's many windows.

She froze as she saw two black triangles sticking out of a bush and a rush of excitement shot through her.

She quickly looked left and right, confirming to herself she was alone. Port's class could wait. There was a cat that needed to be pet.

She crept slowly to the open window, setting her books on the sill and leaned over. She gave another quick glance about before she spoke softly.

"Kitty, kitty, kitty~" The ears flicked a little and she smiled as the cat didn't run off. She slowly reached out so as not to startle it.

She smiled as she gently clasped the soft fuzzy triangle and began to rub gently.

"Aw who's such a cutie kitty?" She asked as she rubbed and lightly scratched. She sighed as she shifted a bit closer, leaning more over the edge.

"You are." She smiled softly as she scratched the cat's ears.

"I wonder if you'll purr for me?" She spoke softly as she continued to rub and scratch, alternating between the two.

She sighed softly as there was no purring from the cat and her eyes closed as she moved from its ears to stroke its head.

She sat there awhile, losing track of time before she spoke softly. "I had a cat when I was younger, well, he was a stray, but sometimes he'd let me pet him."

The ears flicked as she spoke, seeming to be listening to her. "I don't know what happened to him, but he was my only friend." She closed her eyes and took hold of a soft triangle again, rubbing it between her thumb and index.

"Growing up in the Schnee manor… it was cold and lonely." She turned her head and rubbed it against the small bit of head she could see. "I grew cold and distant from those around me, and now that I have some freedom at Beacon… It's a struggle to not be the same as I always have. To open up to someone. It's really scary."

She rubbed the tip of her nose between the ears affectionately. "I can't give up, but taking that step... It's terrifying. All the what ifs swirl constantly in my mind."

She paused as she shifted on the sill and took a breath through her nose. She sighed heavily and checked the time before she let out an unladylike yelp and was tearing off down the hallway, forgetting her books and leaving the cat under the window.
