Hi, I apologise in advance because this chapter is very short but I thought it was necessary part of the story and it was right to have it this short. so sorry but not sorry because the story needed it.
Disclaimer: I still do not own PJO or HOO or any Riordan characters, sadly.
Reviews: Hi guys, I've got so many lovely reviews from you in the last couple of weeks so I'm not going to reply to them all as they were mostly along the same lines and didn't really need an answer but just know that I read every single one and I love you guys.
Percabethlife2025: Thank you so much for your lovely comments they truly mean a lot to me, and don't worry about me getting annoyed from seeing your story. I will never be annoyed by someone who was inspired by me as there are so many writers that have combined to inspire my work and help me to create my story line. So please go ahead and write your story with my full blessing.
Nico POV
It had been two weeks since Percy went missing and I was once again sat at the foot of my father's throne waiting for a meeting to start. We were supposed to be giving a progress report to the gods, but Hermes and Apollo were late.
So, we sat and waited. The gods were chatting amongst themselves while my friends looked very similar to me. Each of us sat in our chair not doing much, just bored of the meeting and knowing we could be doing something better than waiting around. We also didn't want to get involved with the conversations around us as we knew that they could quickly turn ugly.
After about ten minutes Hermes burst through the doors with Apollo hot on his heels. "Where have you been?" Zeus demanded.
"I'm sorry Father but this is important, you all need to hear it." Hermes breathed heavily.
"We don't care about how you seduced your latest conquest, jus.." Apollo cut Artemis off.
"No, this really is important." he told her in a serious tone. That got everyone's attention. If the jolly god of the sun was serious, then something was seriously wrong. The room instantly quietened. "The titan army has all gone from the area around Camp Half-Blood."
"So, we went to check Othrys." He continued quickly before anyone could breathe a sigh of relief. "And there are thousands more monsters there, it seems the titans have only been sending part of their forces at a time."
"And they seem to be preparing." Hermes butted in. "I think they are getting ready for an attack." The room was silent for a few moments as everyone took in the news. The two gods took this time to retreat to their respective thrones.
"How are the half-bloods doing?" Athena suddenly asked.
"Their training is going well, mother." Annabeth told her. "They are getting stronger every day, but without Percy they are losing hope. They saw their hero be taken away from them – it's really taken its toll on the camp." I lowered my eyes to the ground, if I just hadn't let him fight – we wouldn't be facing this now. Someone else could have taken out Hyperion.
I heard a cough from across the room and looked up at Jason. He was staring at me in a way that said, 'Stop thinking about that, you did nothing wrong'. I knew he was only trying to help but I found it hard to think the same way as he did.
He had already told me a thousand times, that if we had tried to stop Percy he would have done what he liked anyway and then we wouldn't have been able to keep an eye on him at all. What we did was the best we could, it was out of our hands.
And I knew, I knew he had a valid point but... I couldn't help thinking that I could've done more.
I shook the thought to the back of my mind and gave Jason a quick smile of thanks. He didn't seem convinced that I had truly dropped the issue, and he was right, but nevertheless he turned his attention back to the meeting – I did the same.
The others seemed to be discussing what they thought the titans may have been doing. Athena and Ares were toying with the idea of an assault on Camp Jupiter as it was less defended than Camp Half-Blood.
"We should set up scouts around the perimeter of Camp Jupiter" Juno chimed in. (Hera had changed form as the conversation was important to her alter ego.) "We already have some, obviously, but we should widen the range and put the camp on high alert."
"That's not a bad idea," Mars said, before adding "it would mean that we could get the Greek Demigod's to camp before the full force of the attack hit." There was a murmur of ascent around the room, before one voice spoke out.
"I'm not sure that you are right." Annabeth declared in a loud voice. "I know that no one wants to, but we need to consider P Percy." The atmosphere of the room thickened. A wave of sadness passing over us all, but the daughter of Athena continued through her pain.
"The titans have Percy. And, as we said, that has lowered the camp's morale." She paused and looked at me, tears shining in her eyes – but she wouldn't let them fall. "What was their original plan with him?" she asked me.
"The titans wanted to use him to spearhead their attack and weaken the camp." I replied, finally understanding what she was saying. And hoping she was wrong.
"Exactly." She announced, turning her grey eyes back to the god's. "The Greek camper's rely on Percy more than the Roman's; they know him better. If the plan was still to use him in such a way, it would be illogical to attack Camp Jupiter."
The throne room was silent for a few moments as everyone processed what Annabeth had said, after all it made perfect sense.
Eventually Athena gravely said, "You are correct daughter. But, we cannot assume that the titans will work with the same plan or that Perseus is," the wisdom goddess paused "under their control again. We need to have a plan in place for both situations, that means..."
She suddenly stopped and turned to face the doors; the other gods did the same. I looked at my friends in confusion before the mist started to materialise. An IM was appearing.
After a few seconds, the grinning face of the titan king appeared before us.
His golden eyes sparkled sadistically and there was a smear of blood on his cheek. My blood began to boil, my anger rising until a calm voice spoke in my mind. "Son, be careful. I know you are, rightfully, angry but you need to control it. Your anger will not help him." I thanked my father in my mind and attempted to settle back into my chair.
"Hello." The titan greeted as if he was not having a conversation with the enemy, but instead a casual conversation with a friend. "I'm glad you are all together, it makes with so much easier."
"You have no doubt noticed that my forces have gone from Camp Half-Blood's borders, and those idiots" he gestured to Apollo and Hermes "have told you about my gathering forces." A few people shifted uncomfortably, making his smile grow wider.
"You shouldn't come so close to my home, it only hurts him when you do." The Iris Message seemed to zoom out and it revealed a figure and hanging in chains beside Kronos.
His head was hung low, but I would have recognised him anywhere. After two weeks I could see my boyfriend, Percy. Hurriedly I scanned him over, taking in the numerous cuts and bruises that littered his body.
They were on his face, arms, legs and almost covered his torso. They didn't seem too deep for the most part, but I was worried about the large purple swelling on his left side – it seemed as if the titan had broken a rib or two.
He was also covered in burns, they looked as if they were from acid. Small dots on every bare piece of skin. It looked horrific.
"Percy..." I breathed, wishing I could just take him away from all this. He seemed to hear me as he tilted his head slightly and looked up to meet my eyes. I wave of relief washed over me.
While not as cheery as I was used to his sea green eyes still held hope and he managed to smile at me slightly.
However, I had also caught the titan's attention. He turned to look at his prisoner and, noticing he was looking at me, connected a powerful right hook to the left side of his face. Causing the hero to spit out a small wad of blood.
"That is enough!" A voice boomed "What do you want titan?" Poseidon had stood from his throne and was currently glowering at his father.
"You should speak to me with a little more respect." Kronos chided "I do have your favourite son with me after all." Poseidon faltered slightly, but the lord of time carried on.
"As for what I want. I want my throne back; I want the titan's restored to our former glory. I want you puny gods to rot in Tartarus and I want to put you there myself."
A chill settled in the room. But the titan just laughed sadistically to himself before elbowing Percy in the stomach. He didn't even look at the son of Poseidon who let out a small grunt as his breath left him. After a second, he lifted his head slightly to glare at the back of the titan's head, who was too busy to notice.
It was good to see that the hero still had some fight left in him. We still had time to save him.
"Last time I was ill prepared. I admit, I was unaware of the best way to destroy you. But 100 years ago, my mother had an excellent plan, just not the means to execute it." he sighed to himself. "Those giants are useless, if mother had chosen her first children to help her, we would be ruling together by now."
"She did manage to show us the best way of destroying you though. And now my army is ready. Soon that pathetic god spawn will be mine again," he gestured over his shoulder at Percy who was still trying to burn a hole in the back of his head "and you will fall."
"I'll see you on the battle field." Realising what was happening Percy shot me one last smile before the titan swept his hand through the mist and he was lost again.
For a minute nobody spoke.
But, eventually, Artemis simply said "He's going to Greece."
That broke everyone from their stupor and the planning began.
Again sorry it is short. The next chapter will be back to a normal length I promise and a lot more exciting. This was mostly just plot.
