Shenzi's Future Heirs

This is a short story about Shenzi and Ed waiting for the birth of her child with anxiety. This is when Shenzi was pregnant, but she is sad about her mate, Banzai, who was dead months ago. 2. The Cubs' Birth

The next morning, Shenzi was sleeping peacefully with Ed and the hyen, who slept at the bottom. Suddenly, something woke the matriarch up.

"OW! Ow, ow, ow, ow!" Shenzi yelled in pain. Her cries in pain woke the hyenas and Ed.

"Yo, get the clan and Ed out," Shenzi told one of the clan members named Banagi, known as one of her mate's brothers.

"What? why?" He asked.

"The cub is coming! GET OUTTA HERE!" Shenzi shouted at him.

Banagi sprang into action and urged the clan, Ed and the other male named Fisi out of the cave. The hyenas were waiting for her cub to come out.

"Come on, Shenzi, keep pushing!" Banagi cried out as Shenzi yelled in pain. A female brown cub came out.

"Ah, it's a girl!" Banagi said with joy.

"You are right! So she is gonna be my..." Shenzi tried to finish her sentence, but then she yelled in pain again.

"AGH! Here comes the next one!" Shenzi urged.

"Already?" Banagi groaned. He held Shenzi's paw so that she could keep pushing and the second pup will come out.

Meanwhile...

Ed, Fisi and the hyenas kept waiting and waiting. Ed whined, as if to plead to make it quick.

"Hey, calm down, little man, she'll be fine," Fisi said.

Banagi walked out of the cave with a smile on his face.

"You both can come in now," he said.

Ed, Fisi and the clan burst out into smiles as they followed Banagi in.

Shenzi was licking a male gray hyena cub and a female brown hyena cub. Ed walked over to his sister and nuzzled his nephew and niece in their mother's paws. Just then, Banzai's soul reappeared and then smiled at the two cubs.

"Oh, there you are honey," Shenzi said with a smile.

Awww, they are so cute..." Banzai said as his spiritual tears formed at his eyes, but they did not flow down.

"Oh, look who is crying," Fisi said.

Ed, Banagi and the hyenas turned to Banzai's soul.

"Y~You're crying..." Banzai said between his sniffles. Then he looked back at Shenzi and her cubs.

"So, babe, what will you name them?" Banzai asked with a smile.

Shenzi smiled at her mate, nuzzling and licking him. Then she looked back at her cubs.

"I will name the female brown cub Asante, and the male gray cub Janja."
