Chapter Three: A Walk In The Park
Sorry, I apologize that these chapters are really rather short, but after all this is only a prequel anyways and in the true Harry Snape remake series they're a lot longer.
"Hey James, I think that we should take Harry to Godric's Park today." Lily suggested one morning while they were busy eating breakfast and Harry was busy taking his nap.
"Yeah, you know what? That sounds like a really good idea. And it's hard to believe it but we really should start thinking about what to get him for his first Christmas next month." He said when suddenly Harry started crying.
"I think it's my turn for diaper duty and you can feed him a bottle then." She said before taking one last sip of her coffee and getting up from her chair as and excited and eager grin grew onto James' face since he loved holding his son and feeding him. James finished heating up Harry's bottle while Lily changed him and a few minutes later she carried him down the hallway.
James sat down on top of the chair and smiled lovingly as Lily placed Harry inside his arms and he slowly tilted the nipple of the bottle to his lips and Harry began drinking the milk hungrily. "I can't believe how big you're getting Harry. It seems like you were born yesterday and next month you're going to be having your first Christmas and playing the part of baby Jesus." He told him softly. "Then the month after that you'll have your Christening." He added.
Harry placed one of his tiny little hands on top of the bottle as he sucked and the other one on top of his father's. James smiled warmly at him before gently kissing the back of it. "I love you." He told him as he made tiny slurping noises while he ate. Once Harry decided that he had had his fill, James slowly brought him up to his shoulder to burp him.
"If you don't want any early Christmas gifts you better protect your shoulder." Lily told him before handing him a towel as James looked up at her and nodded.
"Good point." He replied and gently lifted Harry back up off his shoulder before throwing the towel over it and then sat Harry back on top of it and softly began to pat his back. A few seconds later he let out a rather loud belch and spat up quite a bit over the towel.
"See? I told you that you wanted to be prepared." Lily told him while she started packing all the things that they would need for the park inside her baby bag.
….
Harry sucked on his tiny green pacifier while Lily started pushing him inside his carriage through Godric's park. "I sure hope the top's big enough to keep the sun out of his eyes." Lily said.
"I'm sure it is and he's probably all nice and warm and snug underneath his baby blanket." James told her while both of them smiled rather lovingly and warmly down at their son. "Say, do you think he's big enough for the baby swing?" He questioned her.
"I think so." Lily began. "He's already learning to sit up a little bit by himself." She finished before she started pushing the carriage towards the playground. As she stopped it and gathered him up inside her arms she noticed that he was a little bit wet.
"Hold on, I'll be right back. I have to go change." She told him before starting to carrying Harry towards the women's restroom and he started to fuss. "Shh,.. Mummy's going to get a fresh nappy on you." She whispered reassuringly before softly kissing his forehead while she continued carrying him.
A few minutes later she returned with him and gently placed him inside the baby swing smiling at him ever so lovingly as she did. James took pictures while Lily started pushing him a little bit making a rather wide grin appear on his face.
"Is that fun Harry?" James questioned as he grinned back at him and the baby boy began to giggle.
"Oh you know what? I think that a fairy must be being born somewhere because I think that's the very first time that I ever heard him laugh." Lily pointed out.
"You know what? I think you're right." James replied with a grin as Harry giggled again and a little while later Lily placed him back inside his stroller and then all three of them started heading back home.
