Hey there, I just wanted to apologize for how long it took to update and wanted a chance to say I love all the reviews, favorites, follows, et. Thank you all so much and I am glad you all like my story enough to read it.
On that note, I also was still unsure by how many people are reading it if I should add a lemon, maybe a lime? Should I change the rating? I would love some feedback involving that or I will go with what feels right. Woo, sorry for the authors note, and onto the chapter!
Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter nor the lyrics I quote in each chapter.
Chapter Eighteen
Dangerous
"You take me down,
Spin me around,
You got me running all the lights,
Don't make a sound,
Talk to me now,
Let me inside your mind,
I don't know where the lights are taking us,
Something in the night is dangerous,
And nothing's holding back the two of us…"

Just outside the hallway of Potions class
"Did you hear?" a soft feminine whisper tickled the air from Draco's right while he paused outside of Slughorn's classroom waiting for class to start. Raising an eyebrow, he waited for the Ravenclaw girl to continue talking to her friends while he looked around for a certain bushy haired Granger. "Apparently, Pansy Parkinson had been found late last night passed out in the edge of the Forbidden forest with no recollection of the past month and a half, or so I heard."
With an eye roll, Draco scoffed making sure to send an annoyed sneer towards the girls just before he decided to make his way inside the classroom, Ganger would have to come to class after all. Once inside, he shuffled his way towards his assigned spot thinking about yesterday when he had been called down to the Hospital wing. Remembering the second he saw Pansy, who could not seem to recall anything that had to do with her missing day, or anything since the time she attacked him and Granger.
Then there was the thing with his mother, answering his owls to let him know that she was, in fact, all right, just somewhat 'preoccupied' with her other pureblooded elitist friends, or that's what Draco called them. Even though her letter eased his worry, he was still worried about what he was going to do for his task wanting to make sure that she was safe, but still unsure of what he was going to do.
Scoffing as he reached upwards to give the back of his neck a deep rub, huffing the moment Granger entered his thoughts right on cue as he sat there still confused by what happened in the library. About how he had told her that he wanted to kiss her, how he would again if he had the chance, while the words that he spoke to her replayed in his mind right alongside the memory of her facial expression. Moving his hand from his neck he let it slide to his neck then moved it so he could rest it upon the tabletop in front of him.
Turning to look behind him towards the door as the last few students in the classroom, Draco looked upwards at the time noting there was only thirty seconds until the clocks chimed and yet Granger was still not here. Either she was waiting until the last second before class started so they would not have to talk about what happened, or she was just running late today, which was not like her. Then just as the first chime she walked through the door with her lips pursed obviously attempting to ignore him completely which made his lips curl slightly in the start of a smirk mixed with a small smile.
Once she sat down Slughorn started talking, while out of the corner of his eye he watched her pull out her potions book along with some blank parchment and a bottle of ink. Noting that she had her hair tied on top of her head in a loose bun that seemed to tame her hair somewhat which Draco rather liked if he were being honest.
Recalling his somewhat hasty thought about making her his 'Malfoy' prey seemed rather silly after he initially thought about it, but the thought of bothering Granger, getting under her skin in a whole different kind of way, seem rather exciting if he said so himself. Clearing his throat subtly, Draco scooted his seat closer towards her noticing her stiffing at the motion, which he could tell she was trying rather hard to remain unfazed by his action, but he could read her like a children's book.
Leaning forward upon his elbows that he rested against the desktop, Draco remained stoic while he blatantly began to examine her facial expressions and her emotions that tied to them. Honestly, she needed to think about how much her body language tells others, concealing emotions was one of the first things he learned and from the look of it, she never even gave it a second thought. Watching her sigh as she sharply turned to shoot a glare in his direction, past the façade she was presenting he could see she really was not irritated with him but with herself for some reason.
'Interesting. Although, I am slightly curious as to why she would be upset with herself.' he thought whilst he narrowed his eyes slightly, still overlooking the unchanging and somewhat intriguing annoyance tied to her features. Taking the chance, he then scooted once more closer towards her, almost chuckling aloud when her eyes widened as his dress robes brushed against her upper arm while he silently enjoyed her scent.
"Now, I want you and your lab partner to identify the two potions I am currently passing out, by using four of your senses. Touch, smell, sight, and taste. Taste is last because whoever tastes it will obviously be able to tell by the effects of the potion." Slughorn paused using his wand he distributed three identical looking vials to each lab pair while Draco looked from Slughorn to Granger for her reaction to the assignment. "None of these potions will be that difficult to identify, so once you have your answers, bring up your slips of paper so we can watch a short film talking about these potions for the remainder of class. Do not worry; I have to counteracting potions for you to take afterwards."
Once the tubes landed right in front of Draco, he reached for the first one labeled number one as he then saw his lab partner's dainty hand reach for number two. Pulling at the cork, he then took the first whiff of the potion imminently smelling a minty smell that almost burned his nose from the sharp scent. Nodding, he then placed his thumb on the opening before tilting the potion in order to get some onto his thumb. The second the almost freezing potion hit his thumb he pulled his fingers back switching the potion to the other hand as he rubbed his two fingers together to feel the liquid already dry.
"Wit-sharpening potion." He stated evenly before he then looked at Granger who was already looking at him rather intently, which made him raise his brows at her in amusement as he saw her starting to nibble upon her bottom lip. Rolling his eyes in understanding, he brought the potion to his lips to swallow the rest down waiting for the effects to hit him in a wave.
The second the potion hit his throat he felt a cool yet tingly sensation flowing throughout his veins while he shook his head a little bit right before he looked down at his paper. Everything seemed so clear, others emotions seemed so obvious to him that it almost hurt. Turning to look over everything, he inhaled quickly trying to take everything in all at once but stopped to close his eyes in order for him to adjust to everything.
Once he opened his eyes he turned to look at Granger sitting next to him, who looked like she was waiting for some sort of an answer, yet at the same time almost as if she was trying to read him as usual, which if he hadn't allowed a certain thought to come to mind he would of almost laughed. The pressing thought had to do with thinking about the girl sitting right before him, the girl that took up more time than any other thing in his life.
He tried to deny things before, such as how attractive she really was not just on the outside, but also on the inside. Everything she did was with care for the people or things that she loved and it was in fact rather endearing. With a tight swallow of the lump that formed in his throat, he thought about their kiss, her skin, her lips, her taste, her scent…
'Need counteracting potion now…' in a heated huff, he shoved the unwanted thoughts away and then he nodded promptly before raising his hand to signal they figured it out. The second he forced himself to stop thinking about Granger other thoughts quickly set in allowing fear to cling to them as if it was a its life line. His task, his mother, his family, his father, his aunt, his dark mark, his life, his-
In panted breaths, he saw someone handing a vial to him as he reached outwards to take it hastily letting to warm liquid roll from his tongue down his throat hushing the thoughts in his head swiftly. He sighed at the sound of retreating footsteps while the second he could think straight, he closed his eyes feeling a warm hand touch his causing him to sit up slowly before turning to look at a somewhat worried Granger next to him.
"Are you alright?" she asked softly as he sat up to fix his robes whist trying to forget all the things that came to mind while he was under the potion. Sneering slightly at the question, Draco nodded without saying another word while clearing his throat.
"I'm fine Granger; now get a move on with figuring out the second potion." He bit out rather harshly before taking her quill to write down wit- sharpening potion while she replay the same actions as he did just a moment ago. With a raised brow, Draco watched her brows frowning in confusion just as she smelt the potion deciding it was rather cute when she did that. For some reason his eyes drifted downwards towards her lap where her skirt seem to be higher than where she usually wore it, just above her knees.
Smirking to himself just as she felt the potion with her fingers, he reached down placing his left hand down upon her thigh just above her knee where there was a small flash of skin showing causing her to stiffen. With his pointer finger brushing back and forth in, a rhythmic sway he slid his hand up waiting for her reaction as she glared at him.
"What in Merlin's name do you think you're doing?" she spat reaching down with her free hand to move his, which he did with a grin. Just as she shook her head, he watched her tilt it backwards to down the rest of the potion as he reached for her chair, yanking her even closer to him in order to whisper in her ear.
Shaking her head yet again, she was about to say something when he reached up to slide his left arm between the chair and around her back to rest upon her hip. Leaning forward he bent his head right next to her neck where he blew a puff of cool air against her skin while smirking. Licking his lips, he leaned forward placing a kiss just below her ear waiting to see just how she would react.
"You look like you're enjoying yourself here Granger, do you want me to stop? Do you want me to leave you alone?" he whispered with a chuckle ignoring everything else around the two of them. He felt her exhale unevenly while she turned to look at him with half lidded eyes and her naturally pouty lips slightly parted.
"… no …" the single word that left her lips was so quiet he was sure he heard wrong, or that she was just messing around to get back at him for Saturday. Tilting his head to his right, Draco used his left his hand to take her chin so he could turn her face towards him. He then watched her eyes widen it what looked like realization as her hand shot upwards and with her legs, she pushed his chair away causing him to almost fall backwards.
After steadying his chair, Draco looked at her as Slughorn handed her the potion then walked away, which she proceeded to gulp down as quickly as she could manage while he watched. Then it hit him as she shook her head, while he sighed knowing that everything now made perfect sense. She wasn't messing around with him, nor had he heard wrong, in fact it was the first time he probably heard the truth from her own mouth regarding how she felt about him.
Setting the empty vial down, Hermione looked upwards towards him for a second before grabbing her book and bag then bolting out the door without another word. Pulling out his wand, Draco cleaned up their table before grabbing his things and their answers, while he put the other answer on the paper. He was almost one hundred percent sure about the second one, as he then handed it to the professor still holding Grangers quill.
"It seems that the potion made my lab partner rather nauseous, here are our answers to what we thought the two potions were." Draco watched Slughorn read them over with a nod followed by his usual awkward smile.
"Yes, they are both correct. Wit-sharpening and Veritaserum… now if you don't mind Mr. Malfoy, would you do me a favor and make sure Miss Granger gets to the Hospital wing aright? Sometimes that counteracting potion messes with your stomach." Slughorn stated right before Draco nodded and made his way out of the classroom in order to go find Granger.
"Creating chaos just to prove we're alive,
Demolition of a delicate kind,
Midnight confessions keep on blurring the line,
You keep my heart under the cover of night,
Could be the devil in a clever disguise,
Temptations lead us,
It's too late for goodbye,
Diving into destruction,
Come undone with me,
In the state of seduction,
Come undone with me…"

Down the hallway from potions leading to the library- In the nook behind a column
'No… Honestly Hermione, why is it you can't seem to think when it comes to him. Whenever you're around him, you turn to mush even when playing at his own game. Letting him touch you, kiss you… It's completely mental to think he thinks more of you than just some mudblood…' the inner argument was safe to say, needed, especially after allowing Malfoy to pull that crap in class where others could or probably saw.
Groaning loudly, she thought about how the potion forced her to say no, no matter how much she tried to shove him away a lot sooner than she did. By now, he has probably figured out what made her say that, which proves it wasn't a lie meaning he knows that she wanted him to kiss her again. Shuddering at what he was probably thinking right now, she was still stuck on the fact she wanted that from him.
Out of all the boys in Hogwarts, she wanted Draco Malfoy, who was not only a git, but he recently tried to curse the headmaster and she was the only one who knew it was him. Huffing, she reached up touching where his lips brushed just moments ago closing her eyes in order to remember just the feeling of his breath and lips against her skin.
"Veritaserum was a surprise, for the both of us it looks like…" The sudden voice ripped her eyes open to find none other than Malfoy standing in front of her leaning almost casually against the column behind him with an eyebrow raised. Hermione felt her heart starting to race once more just by looking at him as she then raised her chin in an annoyed manner.
"If you've come here to have a go at me or have a good laugh that the mudblood finds you somewhat attractive, then leave now Malfoy, before I hex you." She growled through her teeth while he raised both his brows causing his forehead to crinkle slightly while she shrugged. Scoffing loudly when he didn't make a move to leave or even to explain himself, Hermione stood up yanking her bag with her about to leave when all of a sudden a cool hand yanked her hard up against him making her drop her bag.
Then she felt him briskly spin them around so that her back was now pressing into the pillar and while she was slightly dazed from the sudden movements, Hermione still felt his hand slip from her shoulders down to her hips. Moving her hands so that they were both laying flat against his chest she panted looking at his cool steel colored eyes, staring down at her with that familiar lust filled hunger she saw on Saturday.
"Honestly Granger, do you even remember the last time I even called you that?" he whispered so sharply that Hermione flinched with his words while he shook his head before allowing his jaw to tense from what looked like annoyance. Thinking about his question, she actually couldn't remember the last time he called her that, and that surprised her none the least.
She was about to reply to his question when he looked back towards her causing her to stop in order to see what he was about to do, as she felt the cool stone against her back as he took another step towards her. The thudding of her heart seemed so loud that she was almost sure he could hear it from where he stood but knew he couldn't.
'What's the point of pretending when he already knows the truth…?" she thought look up at him through her lashes deciding that it was pointless, acting this way. Moving her right hand up his chest slowly she watched his facial features remain stoic while she then quickly wrapped her fingers around his tie tightly, feeling the silky material underneath her finders. With one sharp inhale she yanked on his tie pulling his face down towards hers making sure her lips connected with his.
The familiar burning sensation filled her senses along with everything that was Draco as she moved her lips against his. Feeling his fingers digging into her hips, Hermione allowed her other hand slide up his chest to grab onto his neck as she deepened the kiss tracing his lips with her tongue invoking a growl as he opened his lips against hers.
A sudden dash of bravery hit her as she sucked upon his bottom lip pulling it between her teeth to nibble upon softly while running her tongue across it before she felt one of his left hand slipped from her hip to cup her bottom pulling a moan from her mouth. Then his hand slid down the underside of her thigh bringing it up so that he knee was level with his hip holding her in place.
Moving her hands so that they both made their way up to his neck, she let go of his bottom lip just before she pushed her tongue to meet with his in a swift electric brush. Threading her fingers into the hair just above the nape of his neck, Hermione took in everything she could in the moment. How he felt under her fingers, under her lips, how he tasted and smelt making sure to burn the memory in her mind not wanting to forget the feelings she felt at this moment.
Not caring about the destruction this could cause, not caring about how sinful his lips felt and tasted as she moved her lips from his while his never left her skin. Tracing her jaw with kisses, feeling him suckling upon her skin as she tangled her fingers in his hair tilting her head to her right as he trailed his kisses to her neck and now suddenly exposed collarbone as his hand had unbuttoned the first four buttons of her shirt.
Then she gasped as he allowed his teeth to scrape her collarbone just as the clocks chimed loudly signaling passing period. Both of them stopped their movements as Hermione's leg dropped from his hip while she looked at his eyes darkened with a fire that made her stomach do flips scared by what was going to happen next. Moving past him, Hermione bent down grabbing her bag before she rushed past the disheveled Draco that was somewhat more attractive than when his clothing were neat- 'No, stop thinking about him, how could you forget the things he has done, again!' With one last look over her shoulder at him, she noted he looked rather surprised by her actions.
'What did I just do?' she thought worried as students left other classrooms while she made her way down the hall fixing her shirt.
