Train
The elegant stairs that led into the palace were lined with quartz pillars, which hung the Imperial Flag.
Luke's jaw dropped at the sight. Never had he seen anything that looked as wealthy as the exterior to the palace. If the interior was anything like the outside, the walls must be lined with gold.
They trekked up the stairs and entered the palace. Luke felt even colder than before, if that was even possible. He found comfort in the frigid palace, though he slightly dropped his posture to warm himself.
The atmosphere of Coruscant was vastly different than Tatooine. The planet covered in sand was dry and desolate, but this ecumenopolis was the exact opposite. It was incredibly lively.
Luke wondered what the night looked like on the dynamic planet. Would it still be as alive as it was now?
Luke was pulled out of his thoughts when the guards opened the doors before them, but not before bowing to his father.
He had heard stories about the Emperor. He was an old, pale, wrinkly man. 'Why hadn't someone taken him out already?'
"If you continue to project your thoughts as loudly as you are now, the Emperor will have you executed on the spot. I suggest you try to internalize them." His father spoke, slightly amused at Luke's lack of control.
This shocked Luke. 'They can read my thoughts?' He thought, testing Darth Vader again.
"Only when you project them as loudly as you are, young Luke. You have much to learn, my son."
It felt strange to Luke, being called "son." He'd already felt connected to Vader, though they've only been in each other's presence for a few hours at most.
'Wait… If he can read my thoughts, then he must know about earlier.' Luke thought, forgetting that his thoughts were indeed projecting very loudly.
"I do know that you killed multiple soldiers in the midst of pulling a "prank." I must admit, you have courage, but you also have the same darkness that resides in me. My master will be pleased, though you killed stormtroopers." Vader's monotone voice spoke again.
They entered the lift. Luke tried his hardest to keep his mind clear in fear of intrusion by his father.
Apparently, his father could also feel his nervousness.
"There is no reason to be nervous, son." Luke just fiddled with his fingers. His father's attempt at reassurance wasn't very easing to him.
As they ascended, Luke got even colder. At this point, he was shivering.
He wrapped his arms around his torso to try to warm himself. It didn't do much good though.
The lift came to a stop and the doors opened. The duo was met with a long hallway that was lined with royal guards.
Sharp pikes were standing vertically next to their owner, who was also stood with incredible posture. Their red armor and masks added to the creepy effect the Imperial Palace gave Luke.
Vader led Luke into a room at the end of the hallway. Luke wasn't sure how his father could stand how freezing it was. It must just be Luke adjusting to the new temperature of this planet.
The door opened. Luke saw a figure with a black cloak over his head.
The cloaked figure lifted up their head, and sure enough it was a wrinkly, old man. Luke had to try incredibly hard to not cringe at his face.
Vader kneeled until he was motioned to rise.
"Ahh. Lord… Vader. I see you have brought a guest?" A croaking voice spoke eerily.
"My master, this is Luke Skywalker. Anakin Skywalker's son." Vader responded. Luke heard a hitch in his respirator, but he ignored it.
The Emperor sat there pondering over how the boy survived his mother's death. Nevertheless, Palpatine replied.
"What do you suggest we do with the boy, Darth Vader?"
"I would like to train the boy. He is already familiar with the force and the dark side. I feel he could be a beneficial asset to the Empire and our mission." His father said. Vader wasn't nervous.
"See to it the boy is trained. He is your responsibility. If anything is to go awry, you shall report back to me."
"Yes, my master."
"May I have a word with the boy?" Palpatine spoke, motioning to Luke. "Alone."
Darth Vader slightly nodded his head and exited the room. He could feel his son through the force as well as the Emperor, so he would know if anything were to happen.
"Young Luke Skywalker. Would you like to be trained to master the sith teachings?" Emperor Palpatine sinisterly asked.
Luke replied only with a quaint nod of his head. He would be able to pull better pranks, as well as spend the rest of his life with his father. What could be better?
"Use your words, Boy!" Palpatine screeched, knocking Luke out of his thoughts.
"Yes, sir." Luke maintained an even voice.
"Your father will train you on Mustafar. If you dare betray us, I will see to your end." The sinister voice spoke again, successfully frightening Luke. Palpatine moved his pale hand to motion for Luke to leave.
"Thank you, Emperor." Luke quietly spoke on his way out.
He knew he wanted to be able to frighten people as easily as Palpatine did.
His father led him back to his TIE fighter, and the duo made their way to the fiery planet of Mustafar. He thought 'I just escaped Tatooine, now we're going to another hot planet?'
Vader chose to ignore his snarky remark.
'I am going to train my son to become a sith. Does he really know what he's getting himself into?' Vader accidentally projected.
"Father, I've never worn white."
