Chapter Seven: A Sailing We Will Go

Disclaimer: Just for the record I am not a mother myself yet and so I don't really know what seven and eight-month-old babies eat. This is just a story, so to save choking hazards it is always best to check with your pediatrician first.

Oh I apologize for another really short chapter but happy Mother's Day everybody and there's only a couple of more chapters left before Harry's infancy will be complete.

Harry woke up and started crying and once James entered the room, he couldn't believe what he saw. For his ten-month-old son was now completely standing up by himself inside his crib. "Well look at you Harry." James began while slowly making his way towards him and then gradually squatted down in front of him.

"You sure are getting to be a big boy standing up all by yourself. How about I go ahead and change your diaper and then Mummy can heat up your ba-ba and after you finish eating your breakfast, we're going to go on a boat ride!" James exclaimed excitedly which made Harry grin from ear to ear also revealing that he finally had his first tooth coming in on the top part of his mouth. "Wow, I really can tell that you're starting to morph from baby to toddler." He told him proudly while he felt inside his mouth. "Cause it looks like you have your first tooth coming in there."

Afterwards James scooped Harry up inside his arms and then started carrying him over towards the changing table before gently laying him down on top of it and slowly started sliding down his pajama pants. Once Harry was changed into a fresh diaper and dressed inside his clothes for the day, Lily heated up his bottle since he was now completely weaned while the breakfast cooked itself.

After James finished tying Harry's bib around his neck he started sucking on his fist and drooling all over it. "You know Lil, I can't believe how quickly Harry's growing up." He began. "He was standing up for the first time without any support, he has his first tooth, and in another couple of months he'll be a year old." He finished.

"Yes, I know he is,.. but no matter how old he gets he'll still always be my little baby boy and I will always love him with all my heart." She said while smiling rather warmly and affectionately at her son before walking over towards him and kissing him on the head.

Later on that day after breakfast Lily took her husband and son for a drive to the boating docks and played a bit of muggle music for Harry in the car while he sucked on his pacifier as it was songs that she liked to listen to as an infant and small child herself. Songs like The Wheels On The Bus, Pop Goes The Weasel, and The Green Grass Grew All Around.

Once they arrived Harry started to fuss. "He can't be hungry already. He just ate a little while ago." James pointed out. "So, it's either teething issues, or something else." He said before he started wrinkling up his nose and waving his hand in front of his face while Lily parked the car. "And I'm starting to believe that it's the latter." He said.

"Don't worry, I'll go ahead and change him and then we can go and find a baby life preserver vest for him." Lily told him while they took off their seatbelts and then got out of the car before slamming the doors behind them. "I do wish you would have told me about this before we left though Harry." Lily said while opening up the backdoor and sticking her head in she started unstrapping Harry from his car seat before gently lying him down on top of the seat to change him.

After Harry had a fresh diaper on his bottom Lily and James got him a tiny blue life preserver and they both got adult-sized red ones before all three of them got on the boat together and Harry sat upon his father's lap and pointed out at the dolphins and mermaids and started making happy baby sounds and blowing raspberries. For this was only the start of his summer and water fun as next month he would be going to the beach for the very first time.
