Patricia POV

I called Stephanie to come over because Paul called me telling the news, I always knew that Wendy was a horrible person, but it was his happiness that was in the game, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't warn him, and I do know as well what he asked Stephanie to do, and I really wanted to have a word with her, not to influence her to do a choice, but to think deeply about the choice, I know her, she has a good heart, she can easily say yes to him, but would throw everything away for it, and as a mother of 2 children, and her as I consider one, I want to talk to her.

"Patricia, you're sure you should talk to her? I mean I know she will be capable of making a decision for the best of them two" My husband said to me.

"Yes, I know she is, but you do know as well how she is, heart sweeter than honey"

"You think that will influence?" He said while was eating some peanuts.

"Yes totally, she wants the best for the others first, then she puts herself after"

"You talk to her more than me so I trust you"

"Paul is trying to be tough you know? But deep down I know how hurt he is, how lonely he's going to feel, because it all happened in a blow of a wind" I know my husband doesn't like to see his children like this but he has to know what's happening.

"I'm going to call him; we need to have a man to man talk" He got up and reached our dinning table to get the cellphone.

"Go upstairs to have more privacy, Stephanie is here soon" I know because she said she was almost here when I called her 5 minutes ago.

"You're the boss Hun" And he got upstairs.

Not a minute later, Stephanie calls me.

"Hello Patricia!" She sounded happy, well that's a positive point.

"Hello sweetheart, you're going to tell me you forgot where I live?" And she chuckled.

"That one is hard to forget don't you think?"

"You're right, I'm the one who's getting old" How I adore this woman.

"That's a lie, you still have a lot ahead, so Patricia, I have a surprise for you here, could you come over? And the hubbie as well." What can it be? It has to be special.

"Yes, I can, you're lucky you live in front of me"

"See? I'm a lucky girl, I'll expect you both here, see you" And she hung up. I'm too curious now.

I was about to call my husband but he was already going down the stairs.

"Paul didn't answer the phone, he must be busy with the baby"

"Much probably, he's alone now"

"She called? I heard you talking" He said putting the phone back on the table.

"Yes, and she has a surprise for us at her house, so chop chop" He knows I get thrilled really fast with these mysteries.

"She's a box full of surprises sometimes, so even I get" We both got to the door, Paul locked it and two steps further we are in her house knocking on the door.

She opened the door and immediately we entered.

She might not have much money, but her house is a dream, she knows how to choose furniture to have her house all pretty, this girl fights a lot for her life, to be stable, and I admire her so much.

"You look so good today Patricia!" And she hugged me.

"Just for us, today the treatments were smooth as butter for me, I feel good"

"That's great! Let's hope everyday will be like today, sit down, be my guest" I already have my favorite seat, a small sofa for one person that's more comfortable than cotton.

"And you Paul, how are you?" She hugged him as well.

"After hugging a pretty lady like you, I'm great"

"If Patricia didn't know us, she would give you a hard time!" And I laughed, such a joy to my life.

"That's right Steph, I suppose I have to sit, so I'll get my seat as well" His favorite seat is just the normal sofa.

"You know it! So, as I said to you Patricia, I have a surprise for you two, so if you both could close your eyes would be great" We both nodded and closed our eyes.

We heard her going up the stairs by the steps, because they're next to the living room.

"Are you ready?" What? I almost thought she was upstairs.

"Yes" We both talked in unison.

"Open your eyes" Why was she with a tent of crying on her voice.

When I opened your eyes, my heart stopped for a minute, it literally stopped for a minute.

"Surprise mom" My Paul, my own son is standing in front of me with my grandchild, the one I never saw, and never thought I would see so fast, and now here he is in front of me, so peacefully sleeping.

My eyes were filled with tears of happiness and shock, Stephanie came to me and sat on the arm of the sofa hugging me and crying as well, and I know Paul is crying, and my husband, oh he's inside crumbling apart as well but I do see some tears on his eyes.

"I can't believe this is real, that he's here, I've been waiting for this since I knew Paul was going to have a baby" I dried my tears with my sleeve so I could see less blurry.

"I was afraid you would pass out or something to be honest mom"

"Who's behind this, who had the idea" My husband asked.

"That woman right there near mom" Paul said sniffing his nose and I turned to Stephanie in shock.

"How did you turned his head up? He wouldn't take him out for nothing" This woman makes wonders.

"Just teach him how to take Adam out without being in contact with people, and how unfair it was for you and Paul to never see the baby since you're the grandparents," And she said wiping her tears as well.

"I never had someone to teach me this things mom, and I'm learning a lot with Stephanie and to let go of a lot of fears that I had with him about some things, she's making me a better dad, to be more prepared" And I saw a genuine smile on the face of my son, and my heart is smiling as well.

"There's no words to express how I feel grateful for you entering my son's life and mine, destiny is something that brings good stuff" If this isn't destiny, then I don't know what it is.

"You know how I am Patricia, giving the best of me to people, even before knowing it was your son, I was keen on getting the job, but now it means much more knowing everything"

"Mom why don't you old the baby? He wants to meet his grandmother as well" Paul approached me and I held Adam very tight to me while he was handing me him.

"He's such a good baby, he looks so much like you"

"I do think too" I can't stop thinking about what just happened, now I have even more strength to fight this cancer.

"Paul can I give you a word? Since you didn't pick up the phone and now, I know why" My husband told my son.

"Yes of course dad, but first I need that so needed hug" My husband got up and hugged Paul, so beautiful to see.

"Let's go upstairs son" But I saw Paul sit still

"You don't ask Stephanie if we can go upstairs?" And us three laughed, Paul was the one who wasn't understanding.

"What you all are laughing about? Did I say something wrong?"

"My house is their house, I know your parents since I'm 16 as I told you, if these walls could talk…"

"See son? Don't worry, one day we arrived at our house and Stephanie was cooking us dinner, how? I don't know, but that woman is a mystery" And my husband winked at her.

"Okay… let's go then…" But before him going, Adam started to cry out of nowhere, I was trying to calm him down but it wasn't working.

"Son, I think it's your turn again" I said laughing to him.

"It's his food time, he's always hungry" He went to me and picked him.

"If you want, I can handle him here, I'll feed him, go and talk to your dad" Stephanie offered.

"If you don't mind, I would appreciate that" I know how much Paul wants to spend time with his father because they barely see each other now.

Stephanie got out of the arm of the couch and went to Paul and picked up Adam with such a gentle way, and I couldn't stop thinking how good they would be together, knowing each other, they would be the perfect souls, Stephanie the good girl she is and Paul the good man I know he is, it would be the ultimate couple, let's see how this is going to end up.

I'm surprised how fast she managed to quiet my grandson down.

"Patricia I'll be right back; I'm just going to heat up his milk and I'm here in a second" She said.

"Of course, sweetheart, I'm so comfortable, one day I'm going to hijack your sofa" And she laughed.

"If one day it disappears, I know who was the thief" And she went to the kitchen, it's not far from the living room, because our houses are small but comfortable.

After some minutes, she appears feeding him, I can see how much they enjoy each other's embrace.

She sat down on the couch where my husband was sat, and she looked at me smiling.

"You wanted to talk to me, it's something to worry about?"

"As you know Paul told me of what happened, and you might know that anyone liked her but my son, we warned him many times but as you know,. love is blind" I know what she's referring to, she assisted to everything between me and my ex, she was one of the people that helped me at the time, she was in good health back then.

"I know that too well" And she looked at Adam to see if the bottle is almost empty, which it is.

"So, I know as well of the deal he purposed you, and I wanted to talk about that with you, I wanted to give my opinion because I know how you are and the heart you have"

"Actually, we agreed in something already… Me in this case, I did the best for both" I'm surprised she was so quick.

"I didn't know dear, I'm sorry for bring it up then" I underestimate her sometimes but it's the heart of mother, I want the best for her and I'm over protective when it comes to her, to be honest.

"No Patricia, I still want your opinion of course, you know I like to know your opinions" She finished feeding Adam and put him in a position of burping.

"Well then, I'll give it to you, I want to say for you to not feel like it's an obligation to you, just because he's alone now and doesn't have anyone to take care of him when his ex-wife was home or when he's alone with the child, you have your life as well, and I'm not picking sides of course, but that's what I wanted to say" She nodded and was still patting him on the back.

"Yes I thought about that a lot, but I got to a agreement with your son, I accepted being there full time, sleeping and all but when I needed to do something I would bring Adam with me, I know how much he wants him to stay home and away from the street, but babies need their time outside as well, some sun to their skin, some pure air, and it keeps them calm after a walk so after all these points said he got convinced and ended up agreeing with me" This girl grew up a lot these days for sure.

"You're totally right, he needed someone in his life, like you, at least he listens to you, but about you now, you're sure Adam isn't going to step on your away when you have something to do? Like going out with friends and stuff like that?" I'm concerned that's all.

"Don't worry Patricia, I'll manage everything, I just want them to be fine and feel support in this difficult time, mostly because Adam is going to stay away from his mother a long time, after what she said about him Paul freaked out…"

"Oh, I know what she said… That bad lady, not to call her something else, is very lucky that we don't like to mess around with law, if not she would be down in a minute, but the worse is going to be at work… they work for the same company"

"She wants to use Adam for money so I think law is going to be in the middle…" Paul didn't tell me that part…

"She what?! I didn't know that… then she's really screwed, Paul has one of the best lawyers of the country, there's no way she's going to keep my grandson just to take money out of my son"

"Don't tell him I told you this, I don't want him to get mad" I could see the worry on her face, but I wouldn't tell a soul.

"Of course, sweetheart, you know I'm a closed box, what enters, never leaves" Adam just burped and she was now putting him to sleep, that gentle swinging, she's going to be a great mother.

"Now I have another one to tell you…" She was curious, I could see her face.

"I don't mind if you and Paul date one day, you have my full consent, I would really be happy if that happened, I love you, I love him, you're such a good girl, you would make him a very happy man" Her mouth opened wide.

"Yes, the fact he's rich and I'm not, he's handsome and I'm not, I'm sorry saying this about your son in front of you, but I'm not blind I know how to appreciate a man even if that happened to me, he can have anyone better than me so why he would choose me?, I'm away younger than him and there's another thing that I can't say that it might be a problem as well" She's funny often, her self-esteem sometimes is so low that I think if she still thinks about what happened to her, even if she says everything is in the past.

"Honey all of those things you said, he's not that type of person, believe me, he doesn't care if someone is rich or not, and you are a beautiful woman, trust me when I say that, you have all the potential, and the most important thing he sees is the heart, don't count on this one that he had, he had girlfriends that were better than her but not never better than you, you're special, and I know it, and you should know as well, and age doesn't choose who you love, If you do, just declare the love for that person, everyone deserves to be happy, and about that thing you are concerned, I bet it's nothing he won't deny you over it" She was very attentive looking at me , interiorizing everything.

"How is Rebecca? She's been missing lately" I know her best friend as well, they're friends for a long time and the same age, such a good girl as well but I know her less than my Stephanie.

"She's fine, actually she's coming over today, she wants to present me her new boyfriend, not so new because they are in and out but this time is the time, I've just seen photos of him, so I hope you don't mind"

"Of course not, I would be happy to see her" I'm happy she got out with someone already, she deserves happiness as well, but she's less mature for what I understood by her manners.

Paul POV

The conversation with my dad was really profound, he laid it all out, the thought of my years of marriage, the woman I was with, what my life is going to be from now on without the person I've been all this years, and not to mention the woman I'm going to have at home taking care of it and taking care of my son.

My dad is always the quiet one, but when he speaks, it's wise words, and they mean a lot to me, he's one of my inspirations, the person who thought me all the values I have as a man today.

We went down the stairs and I found my mom in the same place and Stephanie sat on the couch with a sleeping Adam on her arms.

"Hello ladies, Mom I hope you've not been talking about my childhood stories" And I sat on the couch next to Stephanie and looked over Adam, I would spend all day looking at him.

"Too late, your mom showed me your pictures already" And I quickly looked over my mom, she has that innocent look on her eyes.

"Mom! Now Stephanie has seen me naked!" Yes, I have a lot of naked pictures and bathing ones, my mom said I loved walk around naked, maybe that's why nowadays I still do it around my house.

"Cut it off Paul, there's nothing scary on it, nothing she hasn't seen" I can't believe my mom is talking like this in front of Stephanie.

"She has a point, I mean not yours, but my ex" And there she is, that shy look, she has to stop with it, I might have a thing with her shy look.

"Can we stop talking about penises? There's an underage child here" They both laughed, and I don't see the fun in this.

Right after, the bell rang, is she expecting someone? Oh, she is… I remember her telling about her best friend having someone and she wanted to present him, it's funny, Shawn did the same thing.

"You can give him to me" I said to her, and she did so, she handed him to me, he's so deep on his sleep that didn't even woke up to the bell.

I couldn't help but see her walking to the door, the way she walks, and that ass moving… When did I started to perv on women like this? One day without a wife and it's my misery, she really fucked my head up, but now I'm free to look, and I don't feel guilty, not that I looked over women when I was married, because no one was attractive but mine, now she could wash away all the love I had for her.

"Hello girl! How are you? You two come in" I heard Stephanie saying over the door and saying hello to another person.

When they entered the living room, I just didn't drop my baby because I was sat down and he was on my arms really secure.

"Shawn?!" Me, my mom and my dad said at the same time.

"Paul?!" This is some twisted prank or what?

"Wait, you're the best friend of Stephanie, Rebecca?" I asked still not believing, I mean Stephanie knowing my mom by being neighbors it's crazy already, but my best friend dating her best friend? It's beyond weird, what kind of destiny is this?

"Yep since we met 5 years ago" Wow… just wow…

"Why don't we all sit down, the house is small but I have seats for everyone" Stephanie said, and Shawn and Rebeca sat on the table chairs and Stephanie and my dad sat each other beside me.

"Ok let me follow this… Your mom Paul knows Rebecca best friend because they're neighbors, right?"

"Yes…" I'm answering but I'm surprised as much as him.

"And how do you know her" He said pointing to Stephanie.

"Because she's my new housekeeper" His chin dropped even more.

"Funny thing I thought the same…" My mom spoke, and I noticed Stephanie shifting a little bit on her place.

"She's not in the picture anymore" Then he jumped out of his seat and got closer to me, so close I got scared.

"Go sit again, and yes I did, but it was not because of that, she did something really bad, I'll tell you later, but yes she's gone, we are going to divorce" He sat down and gave a squeeze on his girlfriend hand.

"And wait… how did you came out of the house with your son, you're the germ freak over him, you're really a changed man… I like it!"

"Someone here put some sense to my head" I said dodging my head on Stephanie's direction next to me.

"Thank you so much! Finally, someone could be heard…" I was really blind…

"Well I guess we are presented to each other Shawn…" Stephanie said laughing, this woman is really happy all the time, who knew she went through what happened.

"Yeah I agree"

"Let me grab my grandson, I miss him since some days ago" I got up and handed Adam to him and sat again.

"Would you all like something to drink or eat?" Stephanie asked on her courtesy.

"Maybe a coffee and some cookies, what do you think babe?" Rebecca asked Shawn, the way they look at each other is so pure, we can sense the love in the air.

"I'll have what you have" and he kissed her cheek, I never saw Shawn being so caring to someone, it's so good to see him like this.

"Me and Paul are get going home, aren't we?" My mom said, and my dad immediately nodded.

"Yes, you need to lay down and rest, and I'll do the daily company" Something I admire as well, it's the marriage of my parents, so genuine, supporting each other always.

"Patricia it's just company or more than that?" I can't believe he asked this to my parents.

"Let's stop right here, I don't want to know what my parents do or don't do" They are worse than him, they even answer, there's no shame on the face of this people.

"See Paul, your dad still works fine, when you get to his age, you're still going to spread the seed"

"Oh my gosh, mom and dad just go please, Shawn is torturing me and you're not helping me" MY parents went over to Shawn to say goodbye to him, Rebecca and Adam, then my mom whispered something on his ear.

"People at that age still can do that?!" I'm done here, I got up and grabbed my parents gently to the door.

"Thank you for coming, I know it's not my house but I need to kick you both out before I get sick" I opened the door and gave each other a kiss on the forehead, and my mom couldn't stop but laugh.

"Don't get embarrassed, it's all natural, but now seriously, thank you so much for the surprise, our hearts are full son, Stephanie is a good girl, don't forget that!"

"You have to thank Stephanie, she made me see things in a different point, but I was afraid of you passing out honestly but everything went well"

"I'm glad you did, we are get going, bye I love you" And she gave me a kiss.

"Bye son, anything you need, just call" My dad hugged me and I closed the door.

What an emotional roller coaster.

I returned to the living room and Shawn was all by himself with Adam.

"They left you? It was quick" He was sat comfortably on the couch this time and I sat next to him.

The girls entered the living room, full of coffees and cookies, they want to put us all fat.

There's a table in front of the couch where me and Shawn are sat and in the corner there's the one-person couch where my mom was sat.

They put everything on the table, and I put myself on the corner of the couch and Rebecca sat between me and Shawn, and Stephanie sat alone on the other one, I felt bad for her being there alone.

"Serve yourselves, you're lucky I still have some sugar stuff left because I changed my diet" Not that she needs…

We were all having fun, I would say it when I got a call.

"Hello?"

"Hello, am I talking with Mr. Levesque?" A male voice talked; I don't have any idea who's this.

"Yes, it's me, who's talking?"

"My name is Anthony Miles, Mrs. Levesque Lawyer; I have a request of divorce with fully custody of a child, and I was wondering when would you like to meet me and my client, I need to send some papers to your lawyer so we can officialize this but everything needs to be sign face to face"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa go easy… the divorce she can have it gladly, but full custody? There's no way she's going to have it! Tell her that! I'll make sure that I'll send you everything soon and we book a meeting" That bitch…

"That would be perfect, and for the custody, everything will be up to the judge but of course I'm here to defend my client, have a nice day, I hope to hear from you soon" What the heck was this call? Where's the professionalism?

They all were looking at me for me to confirm if it's what they're thinking, so I decided to put end to just say everything, because I don't hide anything from my friends, well Stephanie I can't because she lives with me now but still I will keep my private life for me, I'll tell what I think I should tell, and Becca she's part of my friend so.

"I just received a call from Wendy's lawyer asking for the divorce, I'm more than fine with that, if she wouldn't do it I would, but now… she wants full custody of my baby? She's not going to have none, I don't trust her alone with him, Stephanie is a witness of what happened, she can tell you both as well, and we are going to start working, it's not a good time for lawyer appointments, and just the thought of cross paths at work with her chills me out"

"If you need a witness count on me… she was a bad person, no way a person like that should have a baby on her custody" Stephanie said to us.

"See Paul? That woman is bananas, honestly why did you keep her? Was she a good fuck? Because it's the only thing I didn't know about her, the rest was at everyone sight" These people are all horny or what?!

I don't know how I'm going to have the time to meet another woman, now that I'm going to work, have a child to take care off, it's all going to take a lot of time, but right now it's too soon to have someone, but there's always hope.
