Bonds Of Family

Wheeljack and Skyfire smiled as they looked at the finished project. "I think Katie is going to love this," the inventor said.

"I'm glad we could make it happen for her," the scientist said.

Mother's Day was coming up and Katie had asked them if they could help her create something. Snowglobes with bouquets of roses in them. One with pink roses and the other with blue. Both that gotten to work and now smiled at the finished product.

Down the hall, Ironhide and Optimus were talking. "So you asked Prowl to give our femmes the day off to spend with Katie?" The red mech asked.

"Yes," Optimus said. "I do hope he was able to."

"Knowing him, he will," Ironhide said with a smile. "He loves Katie just like we do and he'd do anything for her."

"That's true," the red-and-blue mech said.

A giggle reached their audios and they looked to see the young child they were so fond of running towards them with Prowl's holoform behind her and he caught the child in his arms. "Aha! Now I've got you," he growled playfully, making her laugh.

"Prowl!" She giggled out before hugging him and he chuckled, hugging her back before he tickled her, making her laugh again.

"You're just a cute little sweetspark," he said. "Don't ever change, little one."

"I won't," she promised.

He chuckled before his real form came out and saw Optimus and Ironhide. "All set," he said.

Katie grinned. "Mommy and Chromia have tomorrow off?" She whispered quietly.

"Yes, little one," he said.

Optimus and Ironhide chuckled. "I wonder if Wheeljack and Skyfire were able to do your gift ideas, Katie," the red-and-blue mech said.

Just then, Wheeljack came out and he chuckled. "Mission accomplished," he said.

"Looks like Katie's all ready for tomorrow then," Ironhide said. "Prime, we best keep Mia and Elita busy so they don't find out their surprise too soon."

"I agree," said Optimus.

"I'll help!" Katie said happily, making the mechs chuckle before Optimus turned on his holoform and accepted his daughter from Prowl.

The rest of the day went quickly as Elita and Chromia did some paperwork. "Is it just me, or were Ironhide and Optimus acting like they knew something we didn't?" Chromia asked.

"I got that feeling too," Elita said. "But Prime won't tell me. He just said that he knows tomorrow will be a good day for you and me."

"Hmm," the blue femme said thoughtfully before looking at a picture that Katie had drawn for her and smiled. "I never would have thought that one day I'd be not only a godmother, but a big sister to a little one."

"Or that Optimus and I would have a sparkling," Elita said. "Katie is a blessing and I think I speak for all of us when I say we're lucky to have her in our lives."

"Hear, hear," Chromia said with a smile.

The next morning, both femmes check their schedules and say they had the day off. "Hmm, did someone switch with us?" The pink femme asked.

"I don't know," the blue femme said.

They saw Prowl come out of his office. "Oh, Prowl," Elita said. "Mia and I noticed that we have today off. Did someone switch with us?"

He chuckled. "No. Optimus and Ironhide asked me to give you today off," he said.

Chromia cocked her head to the side. "Why?" She asked.

He smiled. "It's Mother's Day."

Elita gasped. "Oh, my. I had clean forgotten about that," she said.

"Oh, I remember you said that you and Katie spent time together on Mother's Day last year," the blue femme said.

Prowl chuckled again. "Katie wants to spend time with both of you today," he said.

"Thank you, Prowl," the pink femme said, giving him a friendly kiss on the cheek, to which he blushed. Chromia giggled and gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek too.

"Thank you, Prowl," she said before they went to go find their mechs and Katie, finding them in the rec room.

Katie lit up when she saw them. "Mommy! Mia! Happy Mother's Day!" She said happily.

The two femmes chuckled before seeing the girl hand them two gifts. Turning on their holoforms, they opened them and were surprised and touched by the thoughtful gifts, noting that the roses were the same colors at their armor. "Sweetie, these are beautiful," Elita said, hugging her daughter.

"I've got the coolest goddaughter/sister-in-law ever," Chromia said with a smile as she hugged the child too.

Optimus and Ironhide chuckled before noticing the time. "Oh, you three better hurry," the red mech said with a smile. "There's a picnic at the playground with your names on it."

"Yes," the red-and-blue mech said with a chuckle.

Curious, the two femmes and little girl headed out, finding the picnic and noting that it was very private. "Well, look at this," Elita said with a smile.

"Why do I get the feeling our mechs helped this little cutie set this up?" Chromia asked with a smile.

Katie giggled. "Because they did," she said. "And Uncle Wheeljack and Skyfire helped me with your gifts."

The two smiled as they sat down to enjoy a wonderful picnic and afterwards, the two femmes engaged in a game of tag with the young girl, making it a fair game and the little girl giggled as she ran before Chromia caught her in a hug and gently tossed her up into the air, catching her and making the girl laugh. She then spotted the slide and grinned.

"Want to go on the slide, Katie?" She asked.

"Yeah!" The little girl said happily.

Elita chuckled as she watched them go down the big slide together before Katie laughed. "Mommy, catch me!" She called out.

"Okay," the pink femme said, positioning herself at the bottom of the slide.

"Get ready! Here she comes!" Chromia called out playfully as she gently pushed the little one down the slide.

"Wheeeeeeee!" Katie giggled happily as she slid down, reaching for her mother, who caught her and lifted her up before spinning her around.

"Was that fun?" She asked with a smile.

"Yeah!" The child said happily. "Let's go together, Mommy!"

The rest of the day was filled with merriment as the two femmes and the child they were so fond of spent time together, feeling happy to be a part of each other.
