Kathryn felt herself drop on the transporter pad, with Dupart hovering above her.
She stood up and tried to cover her naked form.
She heard the doors to the transporter room open and watched Chakotay march in. She stared at him tears in her eyes.
She covered her breasts as best she could with her arms.
She let the tears course down her cheeks and watched as Chakotay tossed her a towel to cover her nakedness as she watched Chakotay march up to Dupart and glare at him menacingly.
Chakotay grabbed Dupart's arm roughly and directed him to the doorway as Odo marched in.
Odo took over the custody of Dupart. "I think Mr. Chakotay you should go and take care of the Captain."
Chakotay nodded and ordered for a transport for Kathryn and himself to the medical bay.
[Medical Bay – DS9]
Chakotay and Kathryn materialized in the medical bay.
Doctor Bashir rushed up to the couple and draped Kathryn with a medical gown. "Captain."
Kathryn nodded and allowed the Doctor to scan her and her daughter.
The doctor nodded, "The baby seems to be fine. You on the other hand…"
Chakotay marched up to the Doctor and his partner. "Can we go back to our quarters?"
Bashir sighed, "I have to take care of a few abrasions that she incurred."
Chakotay nodded, "I will be in our quarters."
Kathryn nodded gravely and watched Chakotay leave. "Doctor thank you for saving my face."
The Doctor nodded. "I think we should get your Doctor involved. He is more informed about your recent medical history."
Kathryn bowed her head and waited for their Doctor's transport to commence.
The Doctor materialized in front of Kathryn. "Doctor."
"Captain are you okay?"
Bashir interjected. "She seems fine, but I think that you're more qualified to help her now. I have to go to the promenade and get something to eat."
Kathryn nodded and approached their Doctor. "Doctor. Why are you scanning me again? Doctor Bashir said me and the baby are fine."
The Doctor nodded but continued scanning. "I see why Doctor Bashir called me here."
Kathryn stared at him. "So, what is so interesting about my scans that you had to be called in?"
The Doctor paused. "This would have put the timing when you were with the Cardassians at the first mission."
Kathryn nodded. "It appears that there were many abrasions caused that never healed properly."
Kathryn could only imagine what he'd found. "Were you taken advantage of by the Cardassians aside from the man that you were bonded to?"
Kathryn felt the tears behind her eyelids. "It isn't fair. Even though they are our allies they haven't changed."
She felt the tears streaming down her cheek as she remembered those days; the abuse.
[TIME ON CARDASSIA – OUTSIDE PRISON CELL]
One of the Cardassians approached her. He put one of his scaly hands on her "We know who you are."
Kathryn tried not to allow the surprise to show. "My name is Amlee, I am part of the order."
"Come now Captain Janeway, you can't lie to a liar."
"I was placed on the Starship as a Captain; I tried to gain all the information required."
He stared into her eyes. "Maybe I didn't give you enough credit Captain."
He leered at her. "I was told that you were celibate for seven years. I will be your first."
Kathryn felt the tear but refused to let it show. "I would be honored; but I am not the Captain you accuse me of
being."
She stared at him and felt a needle puncture at the bottom of her hip.
Her mouth opened in surprise.
"In case you are who you say you are not."
Kathryn felt a cramp in her abdomen as she fell and he entered her.
[PRESENT]
She stared at her Doctor. "They did exactly what you suspected they would. And thank god you left something in my bag of tricks for just that eventuality."
The Doctor nodded his head. "That's what the tiny bruise on your hip is from; and because of that your daughter is safe and sound."
She nodded. "I killed that man and all for the safety of my child." She drew in a deep breath and allowed the tears to fall. "I have never taken a life before for such a selfish reason."
He smiled at her. "Well it's a good thing you were selfish. What they injected you with would have caused a miscarriage had you not used the antidote that I gave you to take with you in case."
She nodded. "How did you know?"
"I didn't; but I figured considering your condition I would play the odds."
She nodded, "May I go to my quarters now?"
The Doctor nodded. "Can I suggest that you and Chakotay share your stories? I might make you both feel better."
Kathryn nodded her head and went to the replicator for clothes.
She donned the purple dress that she had fabricated and walked over to the Doctor. "I am going to go back to the habitat ring and see my man."
The Doctor nodded and watched her leave the medical lab, hoping that she would heed his advice.
