A PERSONAL TALK: A Teen Titans fanfiction by shadowgirl999
Takes place after the events of "Trouble in Tokyo" and during the events of the official comic series continuation. Raven and Starfire run into Jinx in the girls' showers at Titans Tower and a little heart-to-heart ensues between them. Rated M for nudity and sexual references.
"Azarath, it's about time we got a little break." Raven sighed as she walked into the girls' shower room at Titans Tower, followed closely by Starfire. "It's too hot to do much of anything today."
"Indeed, Raven. I feel like an Okaaran Rultpig in this heat." Starfire said, closing the door and wiping her forehead.
"Whatever that is, I feel like it too." Raven said, pulling off her cloak and hanging it on a hook as she closed the door with a click. "There's a reason I like winter better. Thanks for suggesting this."
"Of course." Starfire said with a smile, grabbing some shampoo and soaps from an alcove. "I know of your aversion to filth and thought you might like to engage in personal cleaning."
The two friends then undressed, with Raven pulling off her black bodysuit and boots and tossing them into a laundry basket as she pulled out a fresh pair of clothing, including a fresh pair of panties. Starfire kicked off her long boots, pulled off her gloves and then undid her skirt and top, stretching out as her muscular form cracked from stiffness. The two of them were now fully nude and glowing from sweat, their muscular bodies sore from constant activity as they walked into adjoining stalls, turning on the water.
"Well, that feels much better." Raven said as the cool water washed over her pale skin.
"Indeed, Raven. Back on Tamaran, the females of my world would often bathe together and clean each other in grooming after a battle." Starfire said with a smile and she soaped up her arms.
"A little more personal than I was thinking, actually." Raven said, using a sponge to scrub her long legs. "But I usually shower alone, so I'm not the best-"
"Ugh, what a day…" a familiar voice said as the sound of footsteps echoed towards the two girls. "…I guess it can't get much more stressful-?"
Suddenly, the owner of the voice, Jinx, appeared before them. She was in the process of undressing, her little black dress and black-blue leggings in her hands and her bra half-unsnapped. Raven glared at her as her eyes turned red, Jinx glaring back as she turned around and walked away.
"On the other hand, I'm good here. I'll be going now." Jinx said as she glared at Raven, starting to clip her bra back on.
"Wait! Jinx, please join us in the showering." Starfire said, her large green eyes widening as she walked out of the stall and beckoned for Jinx to come back. "Please, relax. Take 'a load off' as you say."
Jinx looked sideways at Raven, then resumed stripping as she undid her bra and slid off her panties, placing them on a hook and entering the shower. There was an awkward silence between the 3 girls as they continued showering, with Jinx washing her fluffy pink hair.
"So…how are things?" Jinx asked, trying not to glare.
"They're fine." Raven said as she soaped up her firm breasts, her eyes glowing slightly with magic.
There was more awkward silence as the girls continued washing up, the vapor filling the room. Starfire looked eagerly between the two, hoping to see a little more interaction.
"You know what? I'll just leave." Jinx said as she turned off the shower and started to walk away, not even bothering to rinse the soap off her skin as she looked annoyed.
"Fine with me." Raven said as Jinx glared at her.
"Wait!" Starfire shouted, making both girls turn to her. "In truth, this meeting is not by coincidence. I…overheard you talking to Kid Flash earlier and knew you would be visiting the showers today, so I convinced you, Raven, to shower here today."
"Okay, and why?" Jinx asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, why indeed." Raven said, turning off the water and glaring at Jinx from across the stall.
"Because it bothers me that you two never talk, you never interact and whenever you are together, you only argue and yell." Starfire said, her golden-orange skin shining now that it was fully wet. "I wish that we get to know our new friend and Titan now that you are officially a member. Do you not wish to know us as well?"
Jinx sighed and wiped her face, rubbing off what little of her makeup and blush remained. Raven turned away and folded her arms across her chest, her skin glowing with dark energy as her annoyance built up.
"Please Raven, say something nice about Jinx." Starfire said, her long hair draping over her shoulders.
"Fine…" Raven said as she turned and faced the naked enchantress. "…you're very pale."
"How is that a freaking compliment?" Jinx yelled, her eyebrows arching in anger.
"And you're very useful." Raven said as she brushed her short purple hair. "Like when you tricked the Hive 5 into sneaking in here and took them down. It was a very clever trick, especially how you went along with me pretending to tell you to get lost."
"Well…thanks." Jinx said, her expression relaxing. "You know, when you told off Dr. Light, that was the only time somebody besides Kid Flash actually stood up for me."
"Jinx? Your turn." Starfire said, calmly smiling at her two pale friends.
"You're…" Jinx said, pausing to come up with the right words. "…not as bitchy as I thought you were."
"Excuse me?" Raven said, her eyes glowing red again. "Bitchy?"
"Hey, I barely knew you! Don't judge me!" Jinx said as she rubbed lotion into her arms. "I thought you were just some tomboy who acts tough to cover up your sensitivity!"
"Acts?" Raven growled. "Do you know how tough it is to keep your emotions under control and-?"
Suddenly, she looked up and realized that she was making the tile crack with her magic, quickly folding her legs and hovering as she closed her eyes.
"Dammit. Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos…" Raven chanted, her eyes glowing white as her magic repaired the cracks and even made the tiles clean and shiny.
"Wow, you can control your powers that well?" Jinx asked, her eyes widening as Raven's magic fixed the shower stall and cleaned the tiles.
"I've trained at it for years." Raven said as she unfolded her legs. "I need to maintain control of my emotions."
"Just like how I need to maintain control over my 'bad luck' magic." Jinx said as she traced a circle on the tile floor with her toe.
"Indeed." Starfire said as she grasped Raven's hand. "Raven, remember what I said about Red Star? About embracing your abilities?"
"But I don't think that will work for me." Jinx said, holding her left arm with her right hand. "If I embrace my magic, it'll only bring bad luck for everyone around me."
"You don't really have to embrace it. Merely to stop holding back." Starfire said, hovering in front of Jinx and taking her hands. "The more you struggle against you magic, the more it resists. If you restrict your power, you'll only limit yourself."
"I've been holding back my power for years." Jinx said, sighing in stress. "Ever since I found out my power brought bad luck, I knew being a hero wasn't much of an option, which I guess was why I turned to crime in the first place. But now…I've been given another chance and I don't want to mess it up."
"And I can help you with that." Raven said as she finished fixing the shower. "I have trained in managing my emotions for years. The monks of Azarath taught me everything they know, and I can help you control whatever kind of magic you possess."
"I suppose so…but I thought you didn't like me?" Jinx said, her expression softening.
"It'll take me a little getting used to, but as long as you're one of us, you're part of a family." Raven said, extending her hand as she turned the water back on. "Welcome to the Teen Titans."
Jinx smiled and shook Raven's hand as Starfire squealed and jumped forward, grabbing both girls and squeezing them into a tight, bare-naked hug.
"Augh!" Jinx grunted, smiling awkwardly as Starfire's strong arms squashed her spine. "So…we've got a hugger."
"You get used to it after a while." Raven said as she awkwardly patted Starfire on the back. "Okay Star, let's just get rinsed off now."
"Of course, friends." Starfire said as she let go, making Jinx massage some blood back into her limbs after the tight hug.
Jinx turned on the shower and rinsed off the soap, rubbing lotion into her pale skin and rinsing the soap out of her hair as she shaved her legs and underarms. Starfire felt lighter than ever as she hummed an old Tamaranian folk song as she rinsed off her long red hair. Raven finished shaving her own legs, rubbing aftershave gel into her powerful legs as Jinx did the same, rinsing herself off and turning off the water. She then stood up, walking over to a full-body dryer and drying off as the powerful hot air blasted her hair every which way.
"I am curious, Jinx, how do you maintain such a generous amount of follicles in such a unique shape?" Starfire asked, rinsing her own long red hair.
"A handful of aqua net and some of that same gel Robin apparently uses." Jinx said as she ruffled around in her bag. "This stuff's better than tank armor."
"I just like to keep mine short." Raven said as she rubbed her hair dry. "It's more practical."
Jinx smiled as she watched the naked enchantress dry off with one of the big dryers, giggling a little as she did the same, opening the can and rubbing the gel into her hair.
"What's so funny?" Raven asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You know you look like Mr. Spock from Star Trek when you do that?" Jinx said with a grin. "Anyway, I just never imagined I'd be here, talking to you two like this. I never got a chance for some actual 'girl talk' in the Hive 5, and even the academy didn't have much of any girls to talk to."
"Then we shall commence with the 'girl talk' and engage in comedic, intimate gossip about our private lives!" Starfire said with a large smile. "Jinx, might you start us off?"
"All right, I'll start." Jinx said with a smile. "Did you know Wally and I just went on a date recently?"
"No…" Raven said, raising an eyebrow again.
"It was a cute night out walking around town and hanging out. Unfortunately, it got cut short due to Leo and his sister Kate breaking into a jewelry store." Jinx said, sighing in annoyance.
"Kid Kold?" Raven said with a slight smile.
"Yeah…my ex-boyfriend." Jinx said as she blushed slightly. "It got even more ridiculous when he called me 'lucky' again. Kind of brought back some annoying memories."
"Ironic pet name." Raven said as she held up her arms, allowing the air to dry off her underarms. "I assume you stopped him?"
"Yeah, and had our first kiss." Jinx said, blushing as she remembered. "He was so sweet. I'm glad I never went back to Leo, especially since I like 'slowpoke' better as a cute pet name."
"Seeing as last Tuesday's date to the fair was the third time you two have accompanied each other upon a romantic evening, I have heard it is conventional for such a pairing to engage in sexual activities." Starfire said with a smile. "Please, how was your night?"
"Star…that's a little too personal to ask most people." Raven said, noticing the blush present on Jinx's face.
"Well actually, I don't mind so much. I guess this is girl talk, after all." Jinx said as she giggled nervously, curling her hair into the horseshoe shape it usually holds as she sat on a bench in the shower room. "He was…very thorough….and such a gentleman, especially in asking my consent. Sometimes, I do get annoyed at him when his attention lapses, especially around other girls, but he was definitely focused that night."
Jinx blushed darker as she cleared her throat, leaning back and shyly curling into a ball on the bench.
"And the next day, he was even more of a gentleman. He made breakfast in bed and even had clean clothes and a hot bath ready for me." Jinx said with a sigh. "No matter how annoyed I may get with him at times, I love him for being so perceptive and just plain fun. He can really know what somebody is like at any given situation, like when I first met him, and he knows how to make people laugh."
She smiled and closed her eyes as she uncurled herself, her nudity revealed to both girls present. Jinx was feeling a lot calmer and more open about herself now, feeling more relaxed in the presence of her new friends.
"You know, Beast Boy is kind of like that too." Raven said as her bare grey skin glistened like polished marble. "He gets annoying and silly at times, but it's mostly to cover up his own fears. He's had a lot of painful issues and losses in his past, not to mention some major heartbreaks, and I think he just makes jokes because without them, he'd be just as dark and antisocial as he used to think I was, because he would be too scared to get close to anybody."
"Poor guy…" Jinx said as she sighed, stretching a little and making her spine crack. "…you know, for the longest time, I was too afraid to get close to anybody. I've had…losses…of one kind or another, and I was scared my magic would bring bad luck to anybody I cared about. That's why I joined the Hive, why I wanted to join the Brotherhood of Evil. It seemed like I would actually be useful to somebody."
"Well, if your recent adventures are of any indication, you are useful to us." Starfire said as she held Jinx's hand in her own.
"Indeed." Raven said as she also held Jinx's hand, making the enchantress blush. "And if you have any problems, you can come to us, because that's what a family does."
"Thanks, but now I'm curious about you, Star." Jinx said as she flexed her arms slightly, both girls holding tight as her arms stretched and cracked. "You recently started dating Robin, right?"
Starfire smiled and nodded so hard Raven thought her head would fall off. Her friend's enthusiasm was so cute sometimes.
"Indeed, and we have recently shared out first consummation of our romantic relationship!" Starfire said with a smile as hearts appeared in her eyes. "Robin is a most gentle, communicative and thorough lover with the stamina of a terran horse."
She sighed in remembrance as Jinx and Raven giggled slightly, with Raven blushing when Jinx caught her smiling.
"What about you, Raven?" Jinx asked, teasingly nudging her with her elbow.
"Well, me and Beast Boy aren't really…a couple." Raven said as she stood up. "We're more of two people constantly annoyed by each other but still friends."
"Then you need to step up your game, thunder thighs!" Jinx joked, giggling a little as she playfully cracked her towel across Raven's hips like a whip.
"Excuse me?" Raven asked, looking annoyed as dark energy crackled around her nude form. "What do you mean by that?"
"It's a compliment! I wish I had a butt like yours!" Jinx said with a giggle. "Or…a butt in general. Or any breasts to speak of."
"Oh, they're spoken of, don't worry." Raven said with a slight grin.
"What's that mean?" Jinx asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Never mind." Raven said teasingly.
The two girls giggled slightly as they sighed in relief, hanging up their towels as Starfire smiled with a smile so wide her jaw almost popped.
"Glorious!" Starfire squealed as she glomped both Raven and Jinx, squeezing them into another tight hug. "Sister-friend Raven, you are now friends with new friend Jinx!"
"Yes, very good, we're all friends, yay! And now that we're all friends, could you let go of me, please?" Jinx said in a choked voice as her skin turned blue from lack of oxygen.
Starfire let go of the two girls, allowing them to inhale long gulps of air and let their skin return to their natural shades. Raven and Jinx smiled at each other before pulling their clothing back on and walking out of the shower room with Starfire, who had dressed and was now pulling on her long boots and gloves as she walked.
"Thanks, Star." Raven said, pulling on her bodysuit as she smiled at Jinx, who was applying makeup and some light purple lipstick. "We really needed this."
"Yeah, it was…kind of fun. If not a little awkward and tricky given the circumstances." Jinx said as she fastened her bra and zipped up her little black dress, looking at her watch as she squeezed Raven and Starfire's hands. "Anyway, I've got to go. I've got a date with Kid Flash at the park and he should be here any minute-"
Suddenly, a yellow-red blur sped into the room, skidding to a stop as Kid Flash made himself know, holding a picnic basket and a pair of tickets.
"Hey slowpoke, I got the tickets. You ready?" he said with a grin as he looked at Starfire and Raven, who were standing next to her and holding her hands. "What's going on?"
"Just…getting to know each other a little better." Jinx said as she walked over and kissed him on the cheek, giggling as he scooped her into his arms and sped off. "See you girls later, we're off to see Shakespeare!"
Raven and Starfire waved goodbye as the red, yellow and black blur vanished, leaving behind a trail of lightning and dust clouds as the two lovers disappeared from sight.
"You know, they are kind of cute together." Raven said as she hovered slightly.
"Is my hearing impaired?" Starfire said teasingly, smirking slightly. "Did I just hear you refer to the union between one of our comrades and one of our former enemies as adorable?"
"You'll never let me live this down, will you?" Raven asked, sighing and rolling her eyes.
"I have learned the art of 'the teasing' fairly well." Starfire said as she hugged Raven tightly. "I must go, Robin is expecting me for a date. See you later!"
She playfully kissed Raven on the cheek and flew away, leaving Raven with a blush and a little smile as her friend flew away with a flash of green light. Raven felt lighter after hanging around with them, and was glad to know them both. As she flew away, she made herself a personal note to thank Starfire for giving her the chance at a personal talk.
The end
I love this show and its corresponding comics so much! Much better than the original comic versions of the characters, in my opinion. Please review!
