I guess I'm alone in this fandom. Boooooo. Oh well.

Kevin tried calling Cassie multiple times over the next several hours. She never picked up. He left two messages Jimmy only called once. He didn't leave a message. She finally listened to Kevin's messages hours later.

"Hey, Cass, I'm... uh, I don't even know what to say. Just, please give me a call back or something." Pause. "I'm sorry."

"Cass, I know you're upset, I just want a chance to explain. I kinda wish you'd pick up, I'm sitting in the dark alone waitin' for Tommy to get back. He's takin' forever. Jimmy did something else stupid and we're fixin' it now and I just, I really want to talk to you. Please, please, give me a call, even if you're telling me you never want to see me again."

She deleted both of the messages before slipping her chucks on, she grabbed her jacket, walking out the door. She put her coat on as she got outside, heading to the Firecracker to see if the boys, any of them, were down there. When she got there, the door was unlocked, like normal, but there was no one inside. She headed towards the steps downstairs, wanting to see if they had released Louie at least and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Jenny at the bottom step, scrubbing. Jenny looked up at her, eyes wide and scared, but they calmed when she realized it was just Cassie. Cassie's eyes, however, slowly came up the steps and she saw there was blood practically everywhere.

"Oh," she breathed out, making her way down the steps to Jenny. "What-what happened?" she asked.

"I, uh, I don't know," Jenny answered. Cassie took her jacket off and threw it on the freezer. She went to grab another bucket and scrub brush. She wouldn't leave Jenny to clean this alone. When they finished, they locked the Firecracker up and Cassie walked Jenny back to the Diner.

"Have you seen Kevin?" Cassie asked. "Or Tommy?" Jenny shook her head.

"Not since the hospital earlier," she answered. "They left a little after they got the update on Sean." They stood out in front of the Diner now.

"Who do you think that-?" Jenny began to ask, but she stopped herself, looking quickly back up at where the Firecracker was and then back to her friend in front of her.

"I only have an idea," Cassie said. "But, it's better to not know. Or think about it." Jenny nodded. The two women looked at each other, Jenny with her hands in her pockets, Cassie with her arms crossed. They both looked like they were ready to cry at any given second. They stood there in silence for a few minutes before Jenny went back into the Diner and Cassie walked back to her apartment, her arms still surrounding her, trying to keep herself warm.

As soon as she was in her apartment, she showered and put on comfortable pajamas, which included a pair of booty shorts and a spaghetti strap shirt. She ran her fingers through her hair, letting the natural wave come. Unable to relax still, she went to the kitchen, grabbing a beer out of the fridge. She was finishing up her fourth beer when Kevin tried to call again. She didn't answer, just stared at the phone. Then there was a knock at the door. Setting her drink down, she stood up and went over to it. She looked out the peephole to see Kevin standing in front of her door. She sighed deeply, resting her head against the door and closing her eyes.

Kevin was about to turn and walk away when the door opened. Cassie stared at him before moving out of the way to let him in. He came in and she closed the door behind him.

"I see you been drinking," he said, looking at the beer bottles on her coffee table. She was only slightly tipsy.

"And you don't have any alcohol in your system at all?" she countered. He smirked a little. She walked to the opposite side of the living room, to the doorway by her bedroom and leaned against the wall there, crossing her arms.

"Sarcasm seems to be the way to talk today," he said, watching her. An awkward silence fell over them. "Cassie," he began, coming towards her. He never called her Cassie, unless something was really wrong. There was another pause as she waited for him to continue. "I don't even know where to begin."

"I need to know," she said, standing straight up, uncrossing her arms. She looked right into Kevin's eyes. "I need to know whose blood that was at the bar," she told him.

"Louie's," Kevin answered. She looked down slightly, nodding. "Why were you at the bar?" he asked her. She looked back up at him.

"I was lookin' for you," she told him. He swallowed a lump in his throat, edging a little closer to her.

"Why?" he asked. "You didn't answer my calls or call me back."

"I don't know," she answered honestly. "A gut feeling maybe?" Her face looked slightly flush, warm. He wondered if the rest of her felt warm. "I just thought you were there, but when I got there, you weren't. Jenny was, and there was blood."

"Blood," he echoed.

"Well, there's not blood there anymore," she told him. Kevin stared at her for a moment, his eyes tracing over her face.

"Kevin always did his best to keep his feelings for her in check," Joey was saying, "but it was at that moment that he realized somethin'. She cleaned up blood, thinkin' it was her Uncle's, her own flesh and blood, but she took care of it. For him. He just couldn't completely figure out why yet."

Kevin just let instincts take over. He wrapped his right arm around Cassie's waist, pulling her close, he put his right hand on her neck and kissed her. She kissed him back, wrapping her own arms around him. He pushed her gently against the wall, his kisses becoming more desperate, begging for more. His fingers gently touched the skin above her hip and she groaned at the tenderness she felt from the touch.

They broke away for a moment so she could push his jacket off his shoulders and pull his shirt off over his head, but he came right back, kissing her again. He trailed kisses down her jaw and neck, suckling every so often, his fingers dipping down to her underwear to touch her gently.

"Kevin," she moaned out before just saying, "Bed." He nodded as she grabbed his hand and pulled him into her room. He undid his pants quickly on the way in. She was about to take her shirt off.

"Wait," Kevin told her. Standing in front of her, he lifted her shirt up over her head, then he took her underwear off as well as his own. They laid down on the bed, Cassie underneath him, and he kissed her again deeply. After a moment, he stopped and looked at her, she looked right back at him.

"Kevin knew that if he did this," Joey said, "that he was crossing an invisible line that he couldn't come back from."

"Kevin?" she said his name. He looked at her before kissing her again, this time with more pressure, more want, and urgency. He positioned himself above her better, her legs moving apart for him. She moaned as he entered her, her head falling back on her bed. Kevin kept moving, but he leaned down again to capture her lips on his. She kept one hand on the bed, fisting at the sheets, but she brought her other hand to the back of his neck to keep him there. She kissed him hard. He groaned into her lips as she moved her hips to meet his motions.

"A lot had changed," Joey said, "but both Kevin and Tommy focused on the things they had cared about the most, throwin' away any caution they had before. And as for Tommy, well, there was no way for him to know way back then that God was going to take away the one thing he wanted most..."
