ERIN´S BOOKS (The Face We Never Forgot)

It was just another day in Virginia, and Erin Walton Northridge asked her big brother John Boy to go with her to the nearest bookstore. Next weekend would be Mother's day. The kids, now adults, were going to the mountains to celebrate and Erin had insisted that she wanted to give her mother a book. The problem was she didn't have any idea what book she would buy.

"Come on John Boy, help me out, what kind of book you think Mama would like?" She asked as they went inside the store.

"I don't know Erin, you know Mama hasn't been thrilled about celebrating mother's day ever since we lost Mary Ellen. " John Boy said sadly.

Erin gave him a look. "John Boy, it's been nineteen years and she has never complained about it. Alright, what you suggest? What you will give her?"

"Janet brought a scarf, so I can give it to Mama." He shrugged. "And Mama liked the sci-fi book I wrote, maybe she like those kind of books!"

"Well, I must say big brother, that Mama isn't the best critic when it comes to your books and Jason's songs. She will say she enjoys it one way and another."

"That's why you brought me with you? To say my books isn't that good?"

"No, I brought you here to help me find a nice book to give her!"

"Great idea Erin, bring your blind brother to help you search for something. If I could, I would buy a gift for Mama without help." John Boy snapped.

"Stop complaining, John Boy! Here, I found a book that she might like!"

"What book?"

"Not going to tell you" Erin teased. "Now let's go!" She said grabbing his arm as they made the way toward the line.

That weekend, as promised, the six siblings and their families went to the mountains to celebrate Mother's Day with their mom and as always, their day were fill with laugh and great memories.

Of course, Olivia said she loved all the gifts, but when they were gone the old woman, as much as she didn't enjoyed mystery stories, decided to take a hard look on what book Erin had give her and she could say that "The Adventures of Detective Mordoch" caught her by surprise.
