Prologue: Torvo Ambush.
(A planet, lush and green and blue. A conglomeration of landmass smashed together, to form one huge continent, with smaller dots of islands. Dawn breaks on a primeval landscape. On the Rocky coastline, Nothosaurus bask in the early sun. Further inland Rhamphorhynchus soar through the air, diving into the swamps and rivers to snap up small fish. A labyrinthodont, a crocodile like amphibian lays at the bottom of the swamp in wait for something more then the bite sized Pterosaurs. Herds of Scutosaurus's browse the dense vegetation of a floodplain. A Dimetrodon ambles through the ferns.)
(In another part of the valley floodplain, at the edge of thick forest, a mixed herd of herbivores browse or lounge in in the sun. Parasaurolophus, with their long backwards facing head crests. Iguanodon lean on trees to chew on the succulent leaves and branches. Brachytrachelopan drink from the lake, their hulking tan bodies shudder with each powerful gulp. At the feet of the large herbivores, Compsognathus, covered in fine feathery down, and yellowish brown Ornitholestes chase small lizards and insects.)
May 4, Thursday.
(One of the Ornitholestes stalks through the grass, it's yellow eyes peer around it's small nasel horn, alert for any signs of movement. Ignoring the thundering footsteps of the gargantuan herbivores towering over it's lithe, small form. A parasaurolophus walks past, sending a small lizard scurrying away for new cover. The Ornitholestes lunges forward after it. The herbivores pay it now mind as it weaves between their legs. The small carnivore chases the lizard through the grass and ferns into the forest.)
(Once inside, the lizard ducks under a log, and the Ornitholestes races past in pursuit. After running a dozen feet, the carnivore slows . It sniffs around for any scent of it's prey.)
(A thick glob splatters into the fern covered floor near the small carnivore. The Ornitholestes looks up, as the leaves above it part. A reddish, scaly maw filled with extends through the foliage as another glob splatters next to the Ornitholestes, as a low growl emanates from the jaws.)
(Outside the forest, the herbivores go about eating and drinking. Some look up as the Ornitholestes scrambles out from the forest, all thoughts of hunting pretty gone. A second ago it was the predator, now it was rushing to avoid becoming prey. And a second later, several of the trees higher branches break away with a crashing as a huge bipedal carnivore came from the trees.)
(It was a Torvosaurus. Thirty three feet long , covered in hide of reddish brown scales. It's eyes zeroed in on the herbivores. The Ornitholestes scurries as the muscular legs race over it as the larger carnivore completely ignores it with larger pretty ahead. The Torvo moves in as the herbivores panic and flee, put on edge by the Ornitholestes, ruining the Torvo's element of surprise. It races to the herbivores as the run away in fear. )
(Luck was not on the Predators side. It wasn't built for lengthy chases, and it's ambush attack was ruined. It slowed as the swift footed herbivores ran out of it's reach…save one.)
(One herbivore hadn't retreated as the Torvo charged. Instead it fearlessly stood it's ground. The Torvo turned to stare down a herbivore that had been feeding away from the other plant-eaters, but now had bravely faced the meat-eater. It was bull Triceratops, the pebbly , grey skin crisscrossed with scars , but the most noticeable feature was it's left horn, it was snapped off halfway down the length.)
(The Torvosaurus looks hesitant at first, before growling a challenge.)
(The two dino's approach each other and stop a dozen feet away. The Torvo growls again as the Triceratops bellows back. The Torvosaurus snarls once more before it makes the first move. The Ceratopsian rushes to meet it. The Torvo bites down on the neck frill. The three-horn , lowers and shakes it's head, loosening the predator's teeth. The Carnivore rears up and strikes again fiercely , bitting down on the herbivore one good horn.)
(The Triceratops lunges up, catching the carnivore off guard. The teeth loosen as the Torvo steps back. But the Three horn was too fast as it lunges forward again and impales it's horn into the meat eaters left thigh. The carnivore roars in agony as the horn face comes down, tearing a gash in the carnivore's leg as the horn comes free.)
(The Triceratops stamps it's feet and roars at the Torvo as it backs away, keeping it's weight off it's left foot, as blood leaks down it's leg. The Triceratops horn tip is covered in blood as well.)
(The Carnivore breathes heavily, it's leg was burning. The horn faces wound was deep. The Triceratops eyes doesn't leave the carnivore as it turns and limps back towards the forest. The Triceratops bellows again, as the Torvo's tail vanished into the shadows of the trees and out of sight.)
Imagine a world where animals from different time periods lived, day by day was a struggle for survival, to survive as long as they could before like all animals they either died of old age or met a Foe they couldn't beat or escape. This is the lifestyle here…the rest is up to you.
PLANET OF THE LOUDSAURS.
