Chapter 26: Bath Time Disaster

"I'm home," Inuyasha announces as he walks into his new house.

"Kitchen dear!" He hears his mother-in-law shout.

After locking the door and setting his duffle bag on the table next to the door, he walks into the kitchen. Inside the white and dark blue kitchen is Korari and Katsuo. They're sitting at the white marble kitchen table in the corner of the room. Katsuo is in his high chair eating mash potatoes as his grandmother eats her dinner. His face and bib are covered in mash potatoes, but he ignores the mess and continuous to eat his dinner for the night.

"How was work?" Korari asks as Inuyasha walks to the stove.

"Good. It wasn't too busy, so I was able to sneak out," he states as he looks at the food. His mouth waters at the site; someone had cooked turkey, mash potatoes, and green beans.

"Who cooked dinner?" He asks as he walks towards the dark blue painted cabinets and grabs a plate.

"Kagome."

"How's she doing?" He automatically asks as he turns to face her. She had been experiencing some signs of postpartum depression these past couple of weeks. She had trouble sleeping and was constantly worrying about Inume. At first, he thought she was just having jitters over their new baby. However, he became alarmed when she started to eat less and had been crying excessive throughout the day.

"She's doing fine," Korari tells him with a gentle smile. "I got her to agree to meet with a doctor tomorrow to discuss how she's feeling."

"Thanks," Inuyasha states with relief. "She would have never agreed if I asked her."

Korari lets out a giggle at his statement. "You're right."

He chuckles before turning around and plying food on his plate. 'I'll talk with Sango, Rin, and Ayame tomorrow and ask them if they could take Kagome to the spa or spend the day with her. I bet she isn't having fun spending the entire day with two crying kids.'

It's been two weeks since Inuyasha and Kagome were about to take their daughter home. The first week, they spent time with their daughter and getting their son use to his younger sibling. Korari and Izayoi would lend out a helping hand by helping Kagome clean the house or catch up on some sleep by watching the kids for a few hours. Going on week two, Inuyasha went to the restaurant for a couple of hours each day to ensure that his staff didn't burn it down. While he was going, Kagome and her mother would take care of the kids.

During the beginning of the first week, Inuyasha noticed a change in his wife. Often times she would distance herself from the kids and stay in her room. Other days, she would snap on him, but come back a few minutes later to apology. He had suspected that it was postpartum depression and had discussed his observation with their mothers. They had told him that it was completely normal but to keep an eye on her. They also informed him to discuss this with Kagome's doctor after Inume's first doctor's appointment. Overall though, the small family is doing well and are ready to face the numerous adventures and difficulties that comes with raising two small, half-demon children.

"Aww! Look whose home from work, Inume," Kagome coos as she walks into the room with a wide awake Inume in her arms. Inuyasha turns around and smiles as he looks at his wife. She's dressed in a red tank top and grey sweaty pants. Her messy hair is up in a bun and she has black slippers on her feet. Although she has bags underneath her eyes, she has a big smile on her face.

She stops in front of Inuyasha and positions herself so he can see their daughter. Inume stares at him before cooing as she tries to reach towards him.

"Hi princess," he says with a grin as he bends down and gives her head a kiss. A huge smile forms on Inume's face as she stares at her father. Her father chuckles before looking at her mother. "And how is the queen, today?"

"She's doing good," Kagome says as she turns her head and gives Inuyasha a chaste kiss on the lips. He nods as he looks down at her.

"Okay, mama, your turn to look after this little angel," Kagome says as she walks towards her. After getting Inume situated in Korari's arms, she turns to face Katsuo. "Are you done eating?"

He nods as reaches up towards her. Kagome lets out a huff as she picks him up. "You're getting heavy," she teases as she uses his bib to wipe his face. Katsuo giggle as he wraps his arms around her head. "After your bath, we're going to eat some ice cream."

"Yay!" He shouts as they walk out the room. Inuyasha chuckles as he takes the seat across from Korari to eat his dinner. The two talk amongst each other as Inuyasha eats and Korari rocks his daughter.

"I just want to thank you again, Korari."

Korari shakes her head as she holds Inume. "It's no problem. I love spending time with my family."

Inuyasha gives her a smile and nod before standing up and cleaning up the mess on the table. As he washes the dishes, Katsuo runs into the kitchen, cleaned, and wearing his pajamas.

"Daddy!"

"Yes?" He asks as he rinses off a dish.

"Ice queam!"

"Wait a minute, buddy."

"Daddy! Now!"

"Kat, mommy will get it," Kagome says as she walks into the kitchen carrying a white baby bathtub.

"What's that, Inume? Look at that," Korari coos as her daughter sets the large item on the kitchen table.

"Someone's taking their first bath tonight. No more wash ups," Kagome declares with a smile as her son tugs on her pants.

"Mama!"

"Okay, okay," she responds as she turns and picks up her son. She lets out a huff as she places him on her hip. "You're getting big Kat. Soon you're going to make mama's back hurt." Her son giggles as he wraps his arms around her neck. She gives him a kiss before walking towards the refrigerator. An hour after Katsuo had his nighttime snack, his grandmother offered to get him ready for bed while his parents gave his little sister a bath.

"Goodnight buddy," Inuyasha says as he kisses his son's cheek.

"Goodnight, my baby," Kagome says as she kisses his forehead. Katsuo smiles at his parents, from his grandmother's arms.

"Night night mama, night night daddy," he says while rubbing his eyes.

"Night you two," Korari says as she turns and starts to walk out the kitchen.

"Night mom!"

Kagome smiles before walking towards her daughter who's sitting in her carrier. "She's such a blessing."

"She is," her husband responds as he wraps his arms around her waist.

"How was your day?"

"It was pretty good. Lucky the restaurant didn't burn down in my absence."

Kagome giggles in response. Her husband gives her neck a kiss before backing away from her as she starts to undress their daughter. He walks towards the counter and starts cleaning it.

"We're ready, daddy!"

Inuyasha finishes wiping down the counter, before throwing the towel down to look at his wife and daughter. "Keh! You took so long, I thought you were getting undress too," he jokingly says. Kagome rolls her eyes as she walks towards the sink with their naked daughter in her arms.

"In your dreams, dog boy."

"One can wish," he replies with a cocky grin as he grabs the baby bathtub off the table and places it into the empty sink. He takes the bottles of soap and small hand towels out of bathtub and places them on the counter. He squirts a small sample of soap into the tub before turning on the faucet, causing water to fill the bathtub. They fill it almost half way before turning the water off.

"Check the water," Kagome instructs as she tries to calm her daughter who started to whimper. Inuyasha places his hands in the water and gives his wife a nod before standing next to her. He pulls his phone out of his back pocket and turns on the video section on on his camera. Kagome gives her daughter a kiss on the cheek before pulling her off her shoulder. "Okay, this will be Inume's first bath," she announces as she sets the naked baby in the slightly warm baby bathtub. Inume moves her head and twitches her ear at the warm water.

"Did your dad say anything about how to wash her tail?"

"He said to be gentle with it and to use soap and water while washing it."

Kagome nods as she grabs one of the small green towels next to him. "Okay baby girl, let's get you cleaned up!"

With Mrs. Higurashi and Katsuo

"And the prince and princess lived happily ever after. The end," Korari says with a smile as she closes the book. She looks down at her grandson who is sleeping while sucking his thumb. "Awww! That's the cutest thing ever! I remember when Sota use to do that."

She gives him a kiss on the head before getting out of the bed and quietly walking out the room. She lets out a quiet curse as steps on a block. Korari lets out a sigh of relief as she closes the door to her grandson's room. It had taken him three bedtime stories and a song to get him to bed.

"Now, grandma can relax a little before going to bed."

Crash!

"Fuck!"

Crash!

"Whhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

"Fucking hell!"

"What was that?" She asks herself as she walks towards the stairs, only to be stopped by her grandson's voice.

"Grandma!"

"Coming dear."

.

Two Minute Earlier

"I don't think she likes this, Kagome," Inuyasha states as he looks at his daughter over his wife's shoulder. Inume's face is red as she lets out loud cries and whimpers. Kagome is using a soft, baby hand towel to clean her daughter.

"I know but baby wants to be clean, right?" Kagome tries to say over her daughter's cries. She sighs over her daughter's loud screams of discomfort. "Okay, I'm almost done."

She wipes the soap off her skin before asking Inuyasha to hand her the big towel. She lays her daughter against her shoulder as her husband covers their daughter with the towel.

"I'll go get her dressed and put her to sleep."

He nods in response as he starts to clean the counter off. Afterwards, he goes to take out the baby tube. As he lifts the tub, his fingers hit the metal sink, causing his to jerk his hand and spill the water out of the tube and onto the floor.

"Fuck!" Inuyasha shouts as he drops the baby tub back into the sink before looking around for a towel.

"Inuyasha! I heard a crash. What's-Ahhh!"

Inuyasha quickly turns around to see Kagome rushing into the room, with their daughter on her shoulder, only to slip on the water on the floor. He quickly rushes towards her and grabs her. "Fucking hell!" He shouts as he starts to fall backwards as well. He quickly twists Kagome so she can fall on his chest as his back hits the floor.

"Hey, are you okay?" Inuyasha automatically after crashing onto the floor. He sits up and cradles his wife and daughter in his arms. "Did you get hurt? Is Inume hurt?"

Kagome shakes her head out of her daze before snapping her eyes downwards at her towel covered daughter. She's staring up at them with wide eyes. Kagome giggles as she kisses her nose. "That was a fun little trip, huh?" Inume sneezes before twitching her nose. "Awww! Poor baby. I bet you're cold. Well, let's get you washed up baby girl." Inuyasha helps her up before standing up himself.

"Thanks," Kagome says with a smile.

"Keh. Just be careful, wench." She rolls her eyes before carefully walking out the kitchen.

"I'll be up there in a minute!" Her husband says as she walks out the room.

"Okay!"

"Do you feel clean now, baby girl?" Kagome coos as she hovers over her daughter on her changing table. Inume sleepy blinks up at her before cooing at her mother.

"How is she?" Inuyasha asks as he leans against the doorframe to their Inume's nursery.

"She's fine. She's very sleepy though," Kagome tells him with a small smile as she continues to button her daughter's blue onesie. However, a small frown forms on her face and her husband stands next to her. "Doesn't this look tight on her? She wouldn't be comfortable in this."

"Kagome, she looks fine and content to me," he comforts her. "Look, she's already going to sleep it in."

"I guess," she mutters as she looks down at her daughter. She lets out a sigh of relief before picking her up. She runs her hand up and down her back as she sways from side to side. She sighs as she walks towards the white crib while humming a soft tune to get her daughter to completely fall asleep.

"Goodnight, love," Inuyasha says as he stares down at their sleeping daughter. Kagome smiles at him before grabbing his hand and leading him away from their child. If she hadn't, who knew how long they would be staring at their infant.

When they make it to their bedroom, they head to the bathroom to take a shower. After they shower, they would relax for the rest of the night in their bed.

"Thank Kami," Kagome moans as her body hits the bed. Inuyasha chuckles as he dries his silver hair. He makes sure it's dry before getting into bed with his wife. He turns off the lamp next to his nightstand before turning towards Kagome who's turning on the baby monitor. She relaxes in bed before turning to face her husband. She grins as she sees him staring back at him.

"Hi," she coos as she grasps his face in her hands.

"Hey," he responds with a grin. Kagome giggles and gives his nose a kiss before turning her body to go to sleep. However, Inuyasha's hands on her hips stop her. She frowns as she looks up at him.

"What's up?"

"How are you really feeling?"

His wife shrugs as she stares into his worried eyes. "Okay, I guess. I haven't been feelings super depressed today, so I guess that's good."

"Yeah," Inuyasha mutters as he reaches up and moves a piece of hair out of her face. He stares at her before a brief smile forms on his face. "Well, since you've been busy with the kids, I asked my mom if she can look after the kids this weekend. I made reservations for you to get pampered at Peaceful Time."

"Inu-"

"And I'm sure if you tell your friends, the guys will have no choice but to let the girls go too."

Kagome giggles at the humor in his eyes. She leans forward and gives his nose a kiss.

"You're the best dog boy."

"Keh. I'm a man."

"Oh! Sorry, dog man." Kagome squeals as her husband pounces on top of her. They roll around in the bed before Kagome pins Inuyasha down to the bed with his wrist above his head.

"And Kagome is victorious!" She shouts with glee. "You're getting rust, dog man!"

"Keh," is Inuyasha response as he looks up at his wife. She grins down at him before bending down and kissing him. Inuyasha groans as he opens his mouth, allowing Kagome's tongue to slip inside. She laps her tongue against his while letting out small moans. Her grip around his wrists grow slack as she enjoys the kiss. Inuyasha quickly takes advantage of this and quickly rolls Kagome onto her back. She groans in protest, but her husband pulls his mouth off of her and starts to kiss way down her neck. She lets out a groan as he starts to lick her neck. Her arms wrap around his neck as her legs wrap around his waist.

"Yash!" She groans as he starts to slowly thrust against her covered core. His right hand grasps her breast as he continues to kiss and suck her neck. Kagome's eyes widen as she feels his hand on her breast.

"No, no, no!" She says as she quickly grabs Inuyasha's hand, causing her husband to look at her.

"What, what, what's wrong?" He asks with lustful eyes.

"We can't."

"We can't?" He asks with a raised brow. He moves to kiss her, but Kagome moves her face.

"Inuyasha, Inume's not even a month," she tells him as she turns her head to face him. She cups his face and gives him a kiss. Inuyasha's eyebrows furrow together as he stares down at her.

"So."

"So, if we do this, I could get pregnant again."

"Bu-"

"But, we're not ready for another baby, right now," she tells him as she stares into his eyes. "Let's just wait until Inume's a month before we have some fun."

Inuyasha stares into her serious blue eyes. He sighs; he knew she was right. He sighs again before running his fingers through his hair.

"Fuck! Sorry," he mumbles as he gives her a kiss on the cheek. Kagome grins as she watches her husband roll off of her. He rolls onto his back, facing away from her. He takes deep breathes as he tries to calm himself.

"I know you're mad."

"No."

"You are," Kagome states as she hovers over him. Her husband turns his head and looks at her.

"I'm not mad, I could never be mad at you," he mutters as he moves some hair out of her face. Kagome giggles as she kisses him.

"Good," she says as her hands slowly start to slip over his hip and towards the front of his pants. Inuyasha's eyes widen as he looks down before turning to face his wife again. "Because you seem to have forgotten, dear husband," she coos as she runs her hands over his six pack before they travel down again and into his grey cotton pants. He hisses as she comes into contact with his erection.

"And what's that?" He pants as he stares at her.

"Mommy has two hands."
