The kids & Barney closed up & went to Pepper Pete's, the pizza restaurant owned by Samantha Kepler's dad, Walter. They noticed the lights were off inside. They didn't know what was going on. The door was unlocked, so they went inside. When they got in, the lights came on, & several people yelled "SURPRISE!" Everyone was there. Joe, Wanda, Sam, Walter, Ellen, Emily's parents, Travis, Robin, Damont, Jimmy, Dan the mailman, Lori's mom, a talking squirrel named Scooter, a talking bird named Miss Etta Kette, & Booker T. Bookworm. "Wow! All my new friends are here." said Lori. "And that's not all." Mr. Barnes said as Emily's older brother, David, appeared, who was here for summer break, as well as some of Lori's aunts, uncles, & cousins from the country. Lori & Emily were so happy to see them. It was a special party for them, all set up by Joe & his friends. But he didn't plan on having Lori's relatives visiting. But then, Joe & his friends finally saw Barney. They were surprised by him. "So you're the Barney that Emily was talking about." said Joe. "Yes. He's a very special friend." "Nice to meet you." Joe said while shaking Barney's hand. "Nice to meet you too." he said. "It's always so nice when families come to visit." Everyone then started singing about their family.
