Timeless Mistakes
"I know sweetie I miss him too." Piper said soothingly to Wyatt, stroking his blond locks of hair as she headed to the sink with the dishes from his breakfast.
She put his plastic plate down beside her and moved to turn the tap on but her sleeve caught on the plate, knocking it from the bunker and without thinking she flicked her hand as the plate in order to freeze it.
Only she didn't.
She turned to the plate, which was now falling to the ground very slowly. Wyatt looked over at it and giggled, but quite frankly, she didn't see what was funny about it herself. Standing with her hands on her hips, she tilted her head back.
"Phoebe! Paige!" she bellowed watching as the plate made it's very slow way to the floor.
It had been a hard time of it, ever since their return from the future. The shock of the mess that the future had become, the war for the fate of the world, and watching her two sons at the height of their powers going at it and trying their hardest to annihilate one another had been bad enough, but the final battle on the Golden Gate Bridge, and the final showdown between her sisters, Chris and Wyatt, in which her eldest had nearly killed both her and her unborn child, the baby brother he was purportedly doing everything he had done for, that had been the straw that had broken the camel's back.
Upon returning to the present, Chris had promptly fled, and she had barely seen her son ever since the final showdown with Wyatt. The relationship between her and Leo had been strained as well, as Leo seemed to have locked himself into a fit of denial, and was refusing to believe that anything they had done had led to Wyatt becoming what he had (she also suspected he was having problems coping with both Chris' absence and the very disturbing relationship her sons had had in the future but that was a struggle for another day). That had of course led to some tense discussions (only one yelling match which she counted as a win) between her and her sort of estranged, returned estranged husband.
Her relationship with her sisters had been strained as well. Paige, for the most part, as she had stuck by Chris during the Dan episode and had been closer to him than Phoebe had, had been the least trouble. In fact the only problem she had with Paige was the fact that she was barely touching baby Wyatt now, haunted by images of what he had become in the future. Other than however, she had been hitting the Book of Shadows, magic school and every other avenue of magical research that she possibly could in order to try and get a lead on whoever it was that hurt Wyatt and turned him into the tyrant that they had encountered. She had also been using her powers to keep an eye on her absentee nephew, and hence alleviating his mother's concerns. And on top of that, ever since meeting her all powerful sister in the future, Paige had also been on a quest to learn everything she could about Prue as well, which kept her occupied at least.
Phoebe on the other hand had been increasingly ratty with Chris's absence. Shocked and horrified as to what she had inadvertently helped to create in the future, she had wanted all sorts of answers that Chris obviously hadn't provided her, and she had begun to feel that Chris taking off the way he had had been nothing short of criminal, and had been ranting and raving about how they had been left unprotected and all sorts of other nonsense, which had only further infuriated Piper and her temperament with her sister. She knew where a considerable part of it was coming from, the mess they had made of their family, of the kids and of the future itself notwithstanding, Phoebe was also very tetchy because of their encounter with Cole, which was never going to go over well, and of course Wyatt's taunting during their battle also hadn't helped. But taking her frustrations out on Chris, even in absentia, hadn't done anything for her relationship with Piper at the moment.
And then there was that little baby in his chair, that sweet little child of hers who grew up to become the tyrannical abusive emperor who had destroyed the world. Paige had been having problems with him, barely holding him unless forced to do so. Phoebe had been taking the opposite approach and smothering Wyatt with all sorts of affection and love as if by doing so she could prevent him becoming that monster. Piper and Leo for their part had been trying to treat him as they ordinarily would, but all the while the vision of what he had become was praying on their minds.
"What's up?" Paige asked as she and Phoebe entered the kitchen, Paige shooting Wyatt an untrusting look while Phoebe kissed him in greeting.
Deciding that could wait till later to be dealt with, she gestured to Wyatt's still gently falling plate, and both of her sisters looked at the scene in some surprise before looking at Piper.
"Are you doing that?" Phoebe asked in shock and Piper nodded, hand on hip, supremely unimpressed.
"Yep." She replied, nettled.
"You're not meant to be able to do that." Paige pointed out and Piper gave her a cold smile.
"I know."
"That isn't one of your powers." Phoebe added, and Piper nodded again.
"I know."
"So…how are you doing it?" Paige asked hesitantly and Piper flapped her hand in frustration.
"I haven't a clue!" she exclaimed, and her two younger sisters exchanged glances before Phoebe edged forward slightly.
"Sweetie, we have kind of been expecting something like this to happen, I mean, we've hardly used our powers since we came back and the way our emotions have been…" she began nervously, and Piper sighed wearily.
"I wondered that myself, but every time our powers have been affected by severe emotions it's made them erratic, not devolve! And didn't you say our great grandmother could just slow stuff down like that?" she asked, picking the plate from the air and putting it on the bunker out of harm's way, and Phoebe nodded looking pensive.
"Well yeah, but like you said, your power's different, so how is it doing that?" she asked and Piper gestured helplessly.
"How should I know? How are your powers?" she asked, wondering if the stress of raising the future evil emperor had finally gotten to her and her powers had gone haywire as a result.
"Mine are fine, well, I don't know about premonitions because I haven't had any since we came back, but my levitation is fine, see!" Phoebe said brightly, and levitated.
Well at least she meant to.
She did get off the ground, but her eyes bulged comically as she gave a sort of strange wobble in the air before she suddenly shot backwards like a speeding bullet, yelping as she did so before she crashed into the door frame, her head waving as she looked blearily up at them.
"Phoebe!" Piper and Paige cried in unison, rushing to their fallen sister who shook her head as if to clear it.
"Ow." She said lamely as her sisters helped her to her feet.
"Ok…empathy?" Paige asked hopefully, and Phoebe shrugged.
"No idea, but since you all blocked me…"
"As you were pissing us off!" Piper reminded her with a smug grin, which her sister glared at her in response to.
"I can't even tell." She complained, and Paige clicked her fingers, and dragged Phoebe through to towards the living room, making Piper look at Wyatt, slightly bewildered.
"Don't I get to hear the lightbulb moment?" she asked and he just giggled, so she picked him up and headed through.
"You want me to use my empathy on our neighbours?" Phoebe asked in amused disbelief and Paige shrugged, trying and failing to look innocent.
"Well yeah, I want to see if the new hottie over the road has an interest in anyone we might know…" she said, and Piper grinned as she heard her, she had to admit, she did a good job of foggying the issue of who she was inquiring about, whether it be sister or nephew who Paige seemed quite convinced was rather fluid in his sexuality, but that was another conversation for another time.
Phoebe waved her finger at her sister the same way Grams always did and concentrated on the street across the road. In fact the guy who had just moved in over there was rather hot, and had only moved into the very same house where the cheap blonde knockoffs had been spying on them. He was quite tall, with thick black hair and a slight stubbly beard, and he had earned the appreciative eye of both Phoebe and Paige ever since he had moved in. Piper entered the living room with Wyatt in hand just as Phoebe peered out of the curtains to get a better view of her target, and then yelped in pain again, clutching her head while a little trickle of blood appeared from her nose.
"Phoebe you're bleeding!" Piper exclaimed, rushing to her sister as she dabbed at her nose, and Phoebe scowled in annoyance.
"It's my empathy, it was like I got hit in the head, it was kind of a backlash." She complained, and Piper frowned, if their powers were on the fritz and were going haywire like this they were in serious trouble.
"A backlash? Surely that isn't like Piper's powers devolving?" Paige asked, looking out suspiciously at the hottie over the road, her eyes lingering on his ass slightly more than usual.
Phoebe dabbed her nose with the tissue that Piper had given her, chewing her lip thoughtfully.
"Well, yes and no. It was like I was overwhelmed, which would point to my powers devolving, so that I can't get a basic read on anyone anymore, there was so much it hurt my brain to use my powers." She said, her voice trembling slightly, and Piper and Paige exchanged dark looks, if her powers had also devolved then they could very well be in severe danger.
"It couldn't be a reaction to the spell we cast to get our future powers could it?" Paige asked, and Piper shook her head.
"I don't think so, we've been back too long, besides it wasn't like it was a personal gain thing, it was a protection thing. What about your powers missy?" she asked, and Paige shrugged.
"They're all fine, see, um, ooh, teddy bear!" she exclaimed, gesturing at the bear sitting on the couch that belonged to Wyatt.
And was immediately horrified as the head ripped off the bear and went zipping one way and the rest of the body went zipping another, landing beside Piper, which of course made Wyatt look down, behold the sight of his fallen bear and immediately start to cry.
"Paige!" Piper exclaimed in annoyance as Paige looked shocked.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry baby…I bet this is it, this is what turns him, he sees his aunt ruthlessly murder his teddy bear and it sends him off to the dark side!" she wailed, holding her head in her hands as she lost her head completely, Piper and Phoebe rolling their eyes in exasperation.
"No it isn't don't be silly. It's ok baby, we'll get daddy to fix it, at least it wasn't Wuvey…alright, Book of Shadows ladies? Our powers are wonky and I want answers to why, and I want them now!" Piper declared and swept from the room, her sisters following in her footsteps as she stormed up the stairs.
"Huh six years of this crap you'd think we'd be used to it by now, but no, now are powers aren't just going wonky, they're actually bloody devolving!" Piper cursed as she set a still snivelling Wyatt down in his playpen as she headed to the book.
"Look, let's not panic, our powers have gone weird before…" Phoebe began and Piper scoffed in annoyance.
"Yeah but this time we have no clue why they're doing it and on top of that, there is still this unknown threat out there that's after Wyatt! We can't afford to let our guard down." She growled as she flipped through the book, before Phoebe took her hands and looked at her pleadingly.
"I know sweetie, this affects all of us. But we need to calm down just a little bit ok? Why not call someone who might know a bit more?" she asked, and Piper allowed herself a small smile before sending her sister a warning look.
"Ok, but if we do, you behave, got it?" she asked, and Phoebe rolled her eyes and nodded.
"Fine. Call him." She ordered, figuring his mother would be the only one he might respond to.
"Chris! Can you come here please? You've been avoiding us for too long now, we really miss you, and besides, we need your help, something is going on with our powers!" she called upwards, and to her everlasting fury, she received a jingle in response, which made both her sisters snort in amusement.
"Don't you jingle me, get your scrawny ass here now mister!" she raged, only to receive another jingle, which made both her sisters break out into hysterics, bent over with their giggles.
"Christopher Perry Halliwell! Get here right now!" she bellowed angrily, and a few seconds later, her very harassed looking son appeared in a flurry of orbs.
"Mom, I jingled you for a reason!" he said in exasperation, and she scowled.
"I don't give a monkey's doodaa, when I call you come mister!" she snapped, poking him in the chest and he crossed his arms defiantly.
"I was busy doing something." He retorted, standing his ground, and she arced an eyebrow at him.
"Really? So important you couldn't come when I called?" she asked waspishly, and he leaned in close to her.
"Mom, I was in the loo, that's why I didn't come straight away." He said patiently, and that did rather take the wind out of her sails.
"Oh, well I suppose that's alright then…hey what do whitelighters do when they get a call when they're otherwise engaged?" she asked, wondering why it had never occurred to her before, and Chris grinned.
"They hope they can wait long enough till they can finish what they started." He replied, and with that his mother wrapped him in a fond hug which he returned.
"I've missed you." She whispered and he squeezed her a little tighter.
"Yeah I've missed you too." He replied in a soft voice before his mother let him go.
"Nice of you to join us." Phoebe said, not managing to keep all of her exasperation out of her voice as she hugged him.
"Phoebe!" Piper snapped, but after hugging him, Chris sent her a filthy look.
"Sorry but I needed some time after the lot of us vanquished my big brother and killed him. I'd have thought that considering what happened with you and Cole, you at least would get that." He replied scathingly, and Phoebe did look slightly abashed while Paige and Piper exchanged amused looks.
"We've missed you. I get that you needed space, but you still could have talked to us." Paige told him as she hugged him, and he shrugged a little.
"I know, I'm sorry, it was just after what we had to do…" he began before tailing off and looking over at his infant older brother.
"We're going to fix it honey." Piper promised him as he turned his haunted gaze away from Wyatt as Paige rubbed his back soothingly, before Chris turned back to his mother, his head cocked curiously.
"So what's up?" he asked, and in response, Piper picked up a small vase of dried flowers and threw it into the air, flicking her hands at it, which slowed it's fall down to a crawl.
"Our powers aren't working properly, it's like we've lost control of them or something, we don't have any finesse or finer control, and as you can see, mines have devolved and we're fairly sure theirs have to." She explained indicating her sisters.
Chris frowned, his mind already mulling it over when Paige interjected.
"Could it be the fallout from what happened in the future?" she asked, and Chris shook his head.
"Doubt it, my powers are fine." He said, and Phoebe looked at him curiously.
"All your powers?" she asked with interest and he allowed himself a small smile.
"Yes aunt Phoebe all my powers." He assured her, leaving them in no doubt as to who had the most powers in the room at the moment.
He crossed to the book, quickly being joined by his mother as he started flicking through it, and Phoebe exchanged a smile with Paige, the two of them looked so at home beside the book, each of them with an irritated expression…he was going to be just like her when he grew up.
"So, our powers are devolving when my previously underpowered emotional basketcase of a kid has all of his ones, how is that fair?" Piper asked in annoyance, making Chris grin.
"Just like it isn't fair I got the bum steer in all the powers because of Wyatt…" he said, before tailing off, scrutinising the book.
"Have you got something?" Piper asked, noticing her kid's preoccupation and Chris nodded slightly.
"Phoebe, do you remember the spell you cast originally to get your powers?" he asked, and Phoebe's face lit up.
"Well of course I do.
Hear now the words of the witches, the secrets we hid in the night
The oldest of gods are invoked here, the great work of magic is sought
In this night, And in this hour
I call upon the ancient power
Give your power to we sisters three
We want the power
Give us the power."
Chris nodded, sucking the inside of his gum.
"Yeah, was afraid you'd say that, it doesn't say that anymore. It says
Hear now the words of the witches, the secrets we hid in the night
The oldest of gods are invoked here, the great work of magic is sought
In this night, And in this hour
I call upon the ancient power
Give your power to we sisters FOUR
We want the power
Give us the power."
The three sisters blinked in shock for a second, before they exchanged shocked looks with one another, and it was finally Piper who broke the silence.
"Wait, sisters four? There aren't four of us, there are only three of us, that's how we found Paige, it's because Prue died! That's why we found her, how we found her. Prue's gone." She insisted, and Chris had to admit, it was a very convincing argument.
"Well, not really, she's in the future." Paige pointed out though she did look slightly bummed, but Chris was ignoring the three of them as they talked, his mind was working overtime.
The book should never have changed to saying we sister's four, the original prophecy was about the Power of Three, not the Power of Four. Melinda Warren had foreseen three sisters, Prue, Piper and Phoebe, not the four of them, Paige's existence, a godsend though it had been, wasn't foreseen. And besides, Melinda Warren had only had three powers which were split between the three sisters, she didn't have another power to be split. For that to have changed…
"Someone's altered history." He breathed in shock, and the three of them stopped talking and looked at him as if he had grown an extra head.
"Wait, like how you are?" Paige asked, but Chris shook his head.
"No, way beyond what I'm trying to do, I'm only really here to alter one event to make sure Wyatt doesn't go all Sauron on us, but…whoever did this has changed the original prophecy, they have to have done, there's no way the book would change to four of you otherwise. But this…this is major stuff, I mean whoever did it has changed the entire shebang, I mean you still remember Prue, so everything up until now has still happened, it's just something has clicked over and now all of a sudden…the entire world is different." Chris explained.
Phoebe looked at him, trying to wrap her head around it all.
"Wait, so, everything that's happened before now, us getting our powers, Andy dying, Leo and Piper, Cole, Prue dying, vanquishing the Source in this time, the Seer, the Titans, finding Paige, all of that has still happened, with the power of three?" she asked, totally confused as to what the hell was going on here, and to her relief, Chris nodded.
"Exactly, everything before today still happened as if it was always the power of three, the change, whatever happened, has only just kicked in and created the power of four, so as of now, every other spell…" he said, flicking towards a demon he knew they hadn't fought yet and nodded, and then grinned as he flicked another page, "is now a power of four spell." He explained, thinking that the spell he had just found would be very useful.
The three sisters were still completely confused, and Piper was rubbing her temples, time travel really did her head in.
"I hate time travel." She complained, and then automatically felt the puppy dog expression from her adult son.
"Even me?" he asked and she smiled a little before turning and smiling at him.
"No honey, you're the exception that proves the rule. Ok, so until this morning, everything was as it's always been, but today we're suddenly the power of four…which I thought you said would be bad, and is completely impossible because since the past hasn't changed it still means Prue is dead." She pointed out, but Chris shook his head, as did Paige.
"She's in the future." She told her older sister, and Piper sighed in frustration.
"I know Paige, but she's not here, and she is still dead here, which means we're very vulnerable! Who could be behind this, a demon?" she demanded, turning her attention back to Chris who's mind was whirring in overdrive trying to figure this entire thing out.
Chris, who had been about to answer her original question, was thrown by this question, after all, figuring out who was behind this was a good idea.
"Hard to tell. I'd say not, mainly because you guys have taken out the most powerful demons who would be capable of this. Besides, it's too risky. Yeah, from a certain point of view it is inspired, change the power of three to make it useless and make the power of four which can't actually be formed, because I'm thinking the power of four needs to be formed in order for the power of three to have any effect again. But if you guys even summoned Prue from upstairs, it would create the power of four, you guys would be unstoppable, they'd have a very small margin to attack in and since we haven't been attacked yet, I reckon we're safe." He explained, trying to get his head back to what he'd been thinking about before his mother had interrupted.
"So, we call Prue on down, get our powers back to normal then vanquish whoever's behind this, because if the power of four does make us weaker…" Phoebe began but Chris shook his head, which cut off her train of thought this time.
"It won't." he replied curtly, his mind still whirring trying to figure out the implications of this.
"How come?" Phoebe asked, and Chris grinned.
"Because of what was changed. Look at it like this. The original prophecy foreseeing the Charmed Ones saw three sister witches who split Melinda Warren's powers between them who would become the most powerful witches the world had ever known. Basically, she foresaw Prue, mom and Phoebe. Don't pout Paige, I'm getting to you. So, say you three had found Paige before Prue died, and the original power of three had gone unbroken, but you still found out Paige was a witch etc and let her join in with you. Basically, because she was your sister witch, the power of three would have wound up being shared between four of you, it would be overstretched, weaker. But now, since the original prophecy looks like it was changed to include Paige too, it means that the four of you won't be weaker. In fact, because Melinda Warren will have foreseen the four of you together, the prophecy will still stand, but won't revolve around three but all four of you, the four most powerful witches the world has ever known…you'll be even more powerful than ever before." He concluded happily, realising just what this meant.
Whoever was behind this, which he was beginning to think was more friend than foe, had just changed everything, with one simple step, by changing the original prophecy relating to the Charmed Ones, they had changed everything so drastically. All four of them, the four all powerful Charmed Ones, together, like they always should have been, no longer held back by the prophecy that only foresaw three sisters, no, now four had been seen, which meant that now all four of them could be together without any ramifications for their power or effectiveness.
"Wait a minute, does this mean I'm not one of us anymore?" Paige asked sadly, and both her sisters turned to her and wrapped her in a hug.
"Honey no…is she?" Phoebe asked out the corner of her mouth, and Chris pondered the situation.
"No, obviously, she will be part of the power of four…" he began, mulling it over in his head.
"Yeah but I only came along to replace Prue, if Prue comes back…"
"Sweetie, you are our sister, and it'll be a power of four, you're still one of us…does it affect anything really?" Piper asked, and Chris slowly shook his head
"I don't see why it would. The only thing it would affect is basically your active power, you got the telekinesis part of the deal because you had to replace Prue, but if she comes back…you'll probably get a new power, it's why your powers aren't as affected as the other two, you still have telekinesis regardless because of how your whitelighter side effects it, so you can still do everything else you could always do, you'll probably just get a different active power." He theorised, but obviously, without Prue, they couldn't be sure.
Piper exchanged an exasperated look with her sister, this time travel time line nonsense was giving her a serious migraine and she was having a lot of difficulty getting her head around it. Yeah the idea of the power of four was wonderful, but that still didn't change the fact that Prue was dead or that they didn't know who was responsible for this in the first place.
"Alright, so cliff notes version, someone has changed the past so that Melinda Warren didn't just foresee three of us, she saw all four of us instead, and now, because whatever happened to change the past has kicked in, we're now weakened because the power of three has been replaced with the power of four, which we can't access because Prue is dead, is that about right?" she asked, and while her sisters nodded, Chris shook his head slightly.
"Mostly, but not quite. Melinda did foresee the three of you originally, but for this to have happened she had to have foreseen the three of you and then the four of you, not one or the other, she saw both. But like you said, because the power of four hasn't been established yet, and it just kicked in, it means the power of three doesn't help you much at the moment either. We need Prue. Unless…did grandma have another kid?" he asked worriedly, and Piper looked at him in amusement.
"No sweetie, she didn't, it would be impossible for us to have another baby sister sadly, besides, I think she was more than set with four, there can't be that many girls names left beginning with a P." she assured him, the thought of them having another secret sister laughable.
"Well, Pippa, Pixie, Prada…"
"Not the time Paige. So it's definitely Prue that we need, but as she is dead, or lost to us in the future, how does that help us? I mean we're sitting ducks here, the past has changed, everything has changed and we're stumbling around in the dark." Piper said in annoyance, wondering if she should call Leo to see if he had any ideas when the decision was made for her as her husband orbed right beside them, looking tired and drawn out.
"Good, you're all here…Chris hi. How you doing?" Leo asked as he laid eyes upon his previously absentee son, and Chris shrugged a little as Leo wrapped him in a hug which he half heartedly returned.
"I suppose." He answered vaguely, and Leo and Piper exchanged a significant glance, but knowing she wouldn't be able to talk things over with her son until he had made sure the three, if not four of them were safe, she figured it could wait until later.
"Bet our problem trumps yours." Piper said with a smile and Leo snorted.
"No because our problems probably the same. Something has changed in the past, the present and the future are going haywire, the Elders are going nuts, all they know is that someone has changed something significant in the past, so much so that the echo has only just reached this time, which means we need to find out what it is so we can fix it before it causes any more damage." He explained, and Phoebe winked at Chris, who grinned, after all, he was his mother's son.
"So, the Elders don't know what's changed, they just know that something has?" she asked, and Leo shook his head.
"No, but whatever it is, it's serious. As far as we can see, other than whatever changed, the past is virtually the same, it's now the present and the future that's going to go haywire. We need to go back and fix it, before it gets out of hand." He told them, and Chris scoffed.
"Yeah good luck with that." He sniped, and his father turned to look at him incredulously.
"What do you mean?" Leo asked, astounded that someone who was trying to change the past would be so opposed to fixing something that had so clearly went wrong.
"Well for a start, our powers are on the fritz so we couldn't go back if we wanted to, and secondly, we know what it is. Honey, show daddy the book." Piper said sweetly, and Leo, noticing the smug grins on the faces of his wife and son and fearing an imminent crisis in his immediate future, he turned wearily to Chris.
"What is she talking about?" he asked, and grinning, Chris shut the book and turned it round to face the girls and his dad, then peered at it himself.
"Huh, cool." He said, noticing the new design, and Leo and the sisters looked at the book in shock.
"Why does the Book of Shadows have a quadquetra on the front instead of a triquetra?" he demanded, and Phoebe grinned.
"Because that's what's changed Leo, we think someone has changed the prophecy so that Melinda Warren foresaw all four of us instead of just the three of us so we can actually have the power of four." She explained, and while Leo started to smile at the very thought, his face suddenly fell as the implication set in.
"Oh no…the Elders will want it to be changed, they'll be wanting you to go back and stop it being changed in the first place." He said grimly, and Paige looked at him incredulously.
"But why? Surely if all four of us are together it's a good thing right?" she demanded angrily, and Leo sent her an almost pitying glance.
"Well to us it would be yeah, to them, not quite so much, it was only ever meant to be three, and they will want to fix whatever changed the prophecy in the first place. See there's no telling what such a change could do to the timeline, or to everybody else's destinies, they'll be determined to stop it, to fix it." Leo explained, and Piper looked at her husband in exasperation.
"Wait, are you freaking kidding me? We might actually get something to go our way for once, to get Prue back, and because they have a stick so far up their asses they're going to make us go back and change it just on the off chance that it will change things in a way they don't like?" she demanded furiously, and Leo sighed, looking at her helplessly.
"Piper, the prophecy was only ever meant for three of you at a time, there's no telling what impact the four of you together could cause. Look, believe me I want Prue back as much as you do, but there's a reason good magic isn't meant to be able to resurrect people, this would thwart the Grand Design, the natural order, we'd have the Angels of Destiny, the Angel of Death, the Elders, the Tribunal and god knows who else all hammering on the door to try and fix it, this isn't meant to be!" Leo explained, very wary of his wife's twitching hands as though she was longing to blow him up.
"But dad the prophecy changed, they can have the four of them coexist now! And besides, if they don't, their," he spat, pointing towards the ceiling, "greatest weapon won't be worth a damn because they need Prue back to become powerful again! They need to bring back Prue, they need her to reconstitute the power of four, otherwise they'll be sitting ducks." He explained irritably.
"Not to mention that if we don't find who's after Wyatt the three of us won't be worth a damn against him if he turns again, he'll slaughter us." Phoebe pointed out, shuddering a little as she said it, and Piper took Leo's hand.
"Leo, we saw what Wyatt did to the future. We saw the wasteland he made of it, the millions he had killed, the awful things he had done…we saw what he did to you, to Phoebe, to Paige…and we know what he did to Chris. What if having Prue back helps us prevent him from ever becoming that, from that god awful future from ever coming about?" she asked, tears shimmering in her eyes, and Leo looked genuinely conflicted.
He wanted to save Wyatt, he was his father, he needed to save Wyatt. He didn't care what his son did to him in the future, no, that didn't matter, what mattered was making sure that that didn't happen. That awful future, where Piper died, Wyatt turned, Chris was broken and Phoebe and Paige were destroyed leaving the son he had abandoned and apparently hated to pick up the pieces, he couldn't allow that to come about. He had to save Wyatt, and perhaps Prue, who he loved too (even if she had been pissed at him the last time he saw her) would allow them to prevent that hell from coming about, regardless of whether they found whoever hurt Wyatt or not.
But he knew there would be repercussions. The Elders were furious, and if the sisters truly did go through with this, the repercussions would spread and go further up the chain, and that could put his entire family in more danger. There was also no telling what the change to the original prophecy would do, who or what it would affect, there was no way of knowing that by going through with this, they could very well be making things worse. And the Elders…they wanted the prophecy fixed, so that it would go back to being the power of three, and to continue down this path, it would mean directly defying them, in a way different than he had ever done before. But as he looked at his charges, the sisters, to Piper his beautiful wife, to their blond son in his crib who was cuddling Wuvey and to that strong, determined young man who had come from the future to save his entire family, he allowed himself a small smile.
Screw the Elders.
He'd done it before, he could do it again, and the Elders could stick their consequences up their ass.
"Let's bring back Prue." He said tersely, and Piper flashed him a proud smile.
"There's the man I married!" she crowed, kissing him in reward and the sisters smiled just as the doorbell rang.
"Hello, anyone home?" Victor called up the stairs, and Piper pried herself apart from Leo.
"Up here dad! And if you're a wise man, you'll bring aspirin, all this time travel stuff is giving me a colossal headache." She admitted feebly as Leo held her to him.
"Good call dad." Chris said with a smile, and Leo grinned proudly as Victor entered.
"Thank you. Hi Victor." He said in greeting, and Victor sent him his usual acknowledging nod before hugging the three girls.
"Why do we need aspirin?" Victor asked, revealing a small pack from his briefcase which he laid down on the chair and Piper practically snatched them out of his hand like they were a lifeline.
"We're having an interesting sort of day." Chris explained, and Piper's eyes flicked to her son and her father, and his whereabouts the last few weeks suddenly made sense.
"Wait, you were staying with dad all this time?" she demanded and Chris sighed wearily, rolling his eyes a little.
"Yes mom, where did you think I was? Actually no don't answer that." He mused, and she turned and scowled at her father, who looked at her impassively.
"Piper, the kid was a wreck when he came back. He'd just been forced to help kill Wyatt, his big brother, who only twenty four hours before he'd thought was the only person who loved him. The same guy who warped and twisted him, and was still his brother. He was messed up. He came to me and asked to stay and I let him, because and I know you girls would mean well, but he needed time and space, including from you guys." He pointed out, and Piper sighed and sent a fond look at her son, who gave her a half smile.
Leo and Phoebe looked as though they were going to say something, but Paige got there first, looking at Victor respectfully.
"Good call. And besides, you guys didn't cope with Prue dying well, and you guys didn't cause it. Of course he was messed up, we all were. The four of us, we deal with stuff together. Chris never had that chance, not really. So he went to the one person he knew wouldn't poke at him or constantly hover over him to get the space he needed. And yeah he was gone for a while, but Piper, you can't fret over him forever." She pointed out with a smile and Piper smiled, raising an eyebrow.
"Really? Watch me." She told her, making Chris snigger and roll his eyes, while Victor looked around curiously.
"So what's the time travel stuff going on?" he asked the room at large, and Phoebe sighed as she walked up and leaned her head on her dad's shoulder.
"It's all very confusing, but we think someone has gone back in time to change the timeline so that Paige would be foreseen the same way we were, so we could get the power of three and the power of four. Thing is the power of four has now kicked in so we're powerless until we get back Prue, who is of course dead, and or in the future." She explained and Victor blinked a little before looking at Leo, bewildered.
"Wait, what? We can get Prue back?" he demanded eagerly, hope dancing in his eyes, and Leo sighed.
"Well yes and no. The girls need Prue now or otherwise they won't get their normal powers back, they've gone wonky because one of them is missing. But like Phoebe said, Prue is dead, so I don't see how we're going to get round it, and even if we do, the Elders will be furious, the Angels will do their nut, it'll all get a little crazy. The Elders want the girls to go back and stop whatever changed the original prophecy, which they can't and won't do anyway, because whoever is behind the change has to be seriously powerful and without Prue they won't stand a chance. And there's no telling what bringing Prue back will do, it could cause all sorts of problems for the timeline in general, and on top of that I've no idea how they would even go about resurrecting her." He explained, and Victor looked at him helplessly, not having a clue what he was talking about.
"Well why don't we just summon her here, same way we summon Grams?" Piper asked, and Paige shook her head.
"No, we're better doing it from the future, she's alive there, if we have to conjure her from up there, the Elders might try and stop us. After all, it's not like they're thrilled that we can even do this." She pointed out, and Chris nodded, agreeing with his aunt, while Phoebe chewed her lip thoughtfully.
"Leo does have a point though. Now don't blow up Piper, but are we only doing this because we want to be selfish and get our sister back? Like he said, there's no way of telling what will happen if we summon her from the future, I know we need her for the power of four but…how do we know we aren't making things worse?" she asked, and flinched as she received glares from her sisters and father.
"How can bringing Prue back make things worse?" Victor demanded, and she flapped her hands helplessly.
"I don't know dad, but we could change the future in even worse ways, yeah the four of us might act as a check on Wyatt going dark later on but there's no telling it'll make anything any better. We're being selfish and it could be a trap." Phoebe explained, and Leo did have to admit, she had a point. But, as he looked at the three sisters, Victor, and his two kids, and remembered what had become of all of them, he knew it didn't matter. Things couldn't get much worse in the future, surely anything they did now was for the better.
"It could be Phoebe, you're right, but we don't know who is behind this, and regardless, you actually need to summon Prue in some form to even contemplate undoing the prophecy. So we might as well do it and hope for the best." He said sagely, and Phoebe smiled a little and then unconsciously felt her nephew's puppy dog expression on her back.
"Besides aunt Phoebe, I came back to change the future. Maybe this is part of it, bringing Prue back so all four of you are around?" he asked, and Piper and Leo smiled proudly, and Victor clapped his grandson on the shoulder.
"That's my boy." He complimented, and Phoebe smiled.
"Ok, but if the Elders come for us, I'm giving them you first." She warned, though stopped grinning when she met Piper's less than chuffed expression.
"But there's another point we need to consider, if we do summon Prue, she'll have all of your powers like she did in the future, how do we fix that?" Leo asked, and Chris shrugged.
"No idea, but I assume by creating the power of four, their powers will all go to where they should be. That might explain why their powers are acting the way they are, they need Prue to stabilise them." He theorised, and Leo had to admit, it was a good theory.
Victor looked at Chris in confusion.
"Wait, so Prue came back in the future, right? You told me that much." He said, ignoring the slightly bothered look on Piper's face, he knew she meant well and wanted to make sure Chris was alright but she was coddling him way too much. As Chris had said one night over a few beers when Victor had gotten him to talk, this was hardly his first rodeo.
"Yeah by the…Elders…" Paige said in wonder, her face lighting up, and Chris grinned and flicked his finger at her triumphantly.
"Exactly! Paige, you're a genius!" he exclaimed, and Phoebe looked between the two of them, totally at a loss.
"Ok…how is she?" she asked, and Piper smiled.
"The Elders brought her back, which means, they made her return part of the Grand Design, right?" she asked excitedly, and Chris nodded as Leo's eyes lit up too.
"Exactly, so we're technically not doing anything wrong, they did, they messed up the Grand Design by bringing Prue back…and because of how they did it, yes…" he whispered in realisation, and it finally clicked as to who had to be behind this, only one person could change things on such a scale and use the nature of the Grand Design to prevent any repercussions from falling on the sisters, they had to be a genius, and know intimately the way the Grand Design, the Angels of Destiny and the Elders worked.
"Neena, she has to be the one behind this, she's the only one powerful enough to have done all this." He whispered aloud, and Victor looked at him.
"She was the First Witch right?" he asked, and Piper nodded.
"Yeah, but why would she?" she asked, and Chris shrugged.
"Maybe to protect the future differently, I don't know." He dismissed, and for the first time excitement was coursing through him.
Maybe this was the reason he had come back, in order to change the future, perhaps he'd had to precipitate a bigger trip to the past, so that all four of the sisters would be together in order to safeguard the future.
"So if the Elders brought Prue back, and hence made it part of the Grand Design, that means they can't bitch at us right?" Phoebe asked, and Leo nodded, grinning.
"Oh they'll bitch alright, but they can't stop it. All we need to do is bring Prue back." He confirmed, and Paige smiled, excitement coursing through her veins, she was finally going to get to spend her life knowing her big sister, meeting her in the future had been great despite their trip, and now, Prue would be here, and for the first time all four of them would be together.
Charmed…Again.
"But Prue in that time is twenty odd years older isn't she?" Victor asked in confusion, but Chris shook his head.
"No, because of the way the Elders resurrected her. Basically, they performed the biggest healing they ever had, and Prue in effect picked up her life twenty years later than when she died, sure, but she was still the same person she was when she died, effectively in their terms they were just healing her after she'd been knocked unconscious by a bump on the head or something. When we bring Prue back, she'll effectively be the same age as mom would be, she'll only really have missed three years." He explained, and Victor nodded, his own hope growing, they were going to get his little girl back, his Prue, and then all four of his daughters would be together (ok, Paige wasn't really his daughter but she was as good as).
"The Elders will go ballistic, and best of all, it'll be all their faults, awesome." Phoebe gloated, and Chris nodded.
"Yep. And considering I'm my mom's son, do you think I give a shit about what they'll think?" he pointed out with a grin, and while she cast a reproving look over her son, she did smile.
"See, taught him everything he knows. But dad does have a point, how do we know we won't be driving Prue crazy by doing all this?" she asked worriedly, and Chris frowned, mulling it over.
She had a point. Bringing Prue back from the future when she had been watching over her sisters for years and seeing their various fights and bringing them back before many had even been fought, it could very well drive Prue crazy. Unless…
"Wait, so she might come back as a, you know, a vegetable?" Victor asked worriedly, and Phoebe shot him a look which he gestured innocently in response to, but to his relief, Leo shook his head.
"No, if we do this, in theory she should remember our trip to the future, meeting Chris etc, but everything she saw will technically cease to exist, so it shouldn't bother her…buddy what you doing?" he asked, noticing his son laying out candles.
"I'm going to ask Grams something actually," he said, then conjured a combustive orb and used his telekinesis to zip it around the circle of candles to light them all.
"Ask her what?" Paige asked, totally at sea.
"Hear these words, hear my cry
Spirit from the other side
Come to me, we summon thee
Cross now the great divide."
White lights then swirled and Grams appeared, looking at them fondly before stepping out of the circle and becoming solid.
"Well it's about damn time you lot caught up." She said in greeting, hugging Piper then moving on to her other granddaughters.
"Wait, you knew what was going on?" Phoebe demanded, and Grams laughed a little.
"My dear sweet child, of course we did, we felt the shift, gave a few of us quite a lot to gossip about you know. Oh, hello Victor." She said in distasteful greeting, and he screwed up his nose as he fixed her with a look.
"Penny." He greeted grudgingly, and Piper shook her head in bemusement as the two did their customary squaring off.
"Grams, this is my son, Chris." Piper told her grandmother, distracting her from her battle of wills with her father, as Grams turned to her grandson who looked at her slightly nervously, his own time was all very well and good, but the last time he had seen Grams here, she had been less than impressed with him, calling him green and all but implying that he was incompetent.
Leo exchanged a look with Piper, and Phoebe and Paige crossed their fingers, after all, it had taken Grams a near soul destroying experience before she had finally warmed to Wyatt, the kid from the future who had done so much even out of the best of intentions, well, that was something else.
But Grams said nothing and simply stepped closer to Chris, and to his surprise, wrapped him in a hug.
"I know. After our last meeting, I kept a very close eye on you, I was worried that you would lead the girls astray or that you were up to something. And while your methods weren't what I would call stellar, I see why you did them. And when I found out who you were…when I watched my granddaughters kick you out when they should have known better," she said sharply, and Paige gave her sisters a gloating smile while they hung their heads, "I watched you all the more. But all through it all, there was one thing that I was sure of…that I had never been as proud of a man in this family as I am of you. And needless to say, I'm sorry for how I treated you the last time I was here." She said fondly, and Chris' cheeks went scarlet as everyone in the room's mouths dropped open in shock.
"Th-thank you." Chris mumbled, a little taken aback by both the compliment and the apology.
"Wow…we should have recorded that for posterity sake, make the most of it son, you got a compliment and an apology, you must now be unique among all men." Victor said in awe, and Grams waved her hand at him irritably, though she did smile, before turning back to her blushing grandson.
"So my dear boy, what was it that you wanted to ask me?" she asked, suddenly all business, and Chris' eyes flicked to his mother before going back to Grams.
"When did Prue vanish?" he asked, and the room suddenly went tense, looking at him in surprise.
"Wait, what? Prue's vanished? How do you know?" Phoebe demanded, and Chris turned to look at her.
"She has to have disappeared from the past at some point because of how she was brought back in the future, there had to be a point that connected what would be her present in this time with her present in the future, see?" he asked, and Piper exchanged a look with her sisters.
"No, not really." She admitted and Grams smiled and waved at them to be quiet before turning her attention back to her great grandson, smiling.
"She vanished, just as this three went into the future in order to save you." She explained, and it all clicked into place at last.
"Of course." He breathed, and the girls looked at him in confusion, before Piper turned and gave a long suffering look to Leo.
"He's going to be smarter than us, I hope you realise that." She complained, making Leo smile.
"Gets his brains from me you see." He told her and she hastily disguised a snort of laughter as a cough while Chris sniggered.
"Jury's out on that one Leo. Ok, so Prue vanished so the timelines would coincide, so because we now know Prue is in the future she can't be in the past, she had to link up with the future the same way as we did because the future is part of the present, just later on." Phoebe explained, and the entire room looked at her in shock.
"Thank you Mr Spock, that was very helpful. Ok, so that kind of makes sense I suppose, so Prue had to disappear the same time as we did in order to head to the future, so does that mean the Prue who was in the future and is Prue is basically the Prue we would be able to summon now?" Piper asked, and Chris nodded.
"Yeah, virtually. See when you went into the future, she was still bound to you, through the remnants of the original power of three bond, it's why Prue had such a hard time adjusting when she died. The power of three prophecy and bond was still there, meaning she couldn't really move on, so when you guys came after me, she was dragged along for the ride." He explained, smirking at the look on Victor's face.
"But that has changed, it's the power of four now, and you're right, it is thanks to Neena." A voice said and a second later, Patty materialised in a swirl of white lights, stepping from the candles to become solid, and immediately hugged her three daughters to her fiercely.
"Mom!" Paige exclaimed in delighted surprise, as Chris cocked his head at her.
"Grandma." He blurted without thinking, and as she broke from Phoebe she turned to smile at her grandson. As the years had gone on, aside from ceremonies like wiccanings and the like, Patty had been the one who would generally appear when summoned, as Grams was basically retiring in the afterlife, passing on the family legacy to Patty.
"Huh, that's the first ever time I've been called Grandma, weird, it doesn't make me feel old. Hi." She said happily, and hugged her grandson in greeting.
"Patty." Victor breathed in shock and she smiled at him.
"Hello Victor. How are you?" she asked cheerfully, and he stepped forward and hugged her as well, making Grams roll her eyes.
"I know you two have all sorts of things to discuss, but we're on a tight schedule here. The Elders will know that we are here to advise you, and they'll know by now that it's Neena who caused the change. They might even try and affect the outcome themselves, which is why we need to hurry. Once we summon Prue, they can't stop you, but even now they could be putting up all sorts of wards and spells to prevent your sister from joining you." She explained, and Piper sighed in vexation.
"Seriously, we can't even have a family get together without them sticking their nose in." she griped, but she saw Chris wave his hand, which now she came to think of it, was quite reminiscent of Grams.
"There'll be time for that later mom, for now, we need to hurry, because Grams is right, the Elders don't want this to happen, you guys don't do as you're told as it is, can you imagine they'll be thrilled with all four of you ignoring them? We need Prue, like yesterday!" he urged, and Victor looked to him for one last clarification.
"But once we summon Prue, nothing can stop it, because of how they resurrected her, that's it, the end, Prue's back and it's the power of four all the way to the bank?" he asked, and Patty shook her head.
"No Victor, not exactly. Only when the four of them are together, by the book, just like before, will they be safe." She explained, and Grams smiled as she looked at her three granddaughters.
"Charmed…Again." She said excitedly, and Piper smiled and turned to Phoebe and Paige.
"Well, if the only thing keeping us from all being together is Prue being late, I say we summon her lazy butt back here. Pheebs?" she asked, and Phoebe smiled gloatingly, as she held up a piece of paper.
"One step ahead of you." She boasted, and Paige smiled.
"Let's put this family back together then shall we?" she asked, and the three of them stood beside one another as the other inhabitants of the attic looked on, brimming with hope, wonder and excitement.
"The power of three is no more, so now we need the power of four
We send this call through space and time, hear the words, hear the rhyme,
The power of three we do undo, for that we need our sister Prue,
Unite we sisters forevermore, bring to us, the power of four!"
White orbs began to materialise, spinning around the three sisters as a blazing white light erupted on the wall, forming into a triquetra. However, the symbol began to vibrate, splitting apart and the circle joining the three arms suddenly changed into another arm, and a new blazing line appeared, as the four arms joined together to form a quadquetra, with the blazing line uniting the four arms.
Piper briefly noticed Chris out of the corner of her eye, gesturing at her, and eyes widening she hastily scarpered out of the way as a shimmering portal of blue appeared within the quadquetra, and with a yell, Prue came flying out of the portal. Paige quickly orbed out of the way however Phoebe had no such luck as her jet propelled sister crashed right into her, knocking the two of them to the floor.
"Ow! I think she squashed my boobs!" Phoebe wailed as Paige reappeared, looking relieved.
"Good call honey." Piper said thankfully, and Chris grinned as Prue got her bearings.
"Ow. Hi Pheebs! Oh, I'm going to kill Neena!" she spat as she got to her feet, and Chris looked at her in interest.
"Wait, you know what she did?" he asked, and she scowled, looking very grumpy.
"Yeah, only blasted me through time, I've been trying to get back for months, it's been driving me crazy." She complained as she beheld the room, smiling as she saw them all.
"Welcome home Prue." Piper said in greeting, tears in her eyes, and Prue smiled at her sisters, then looked at her nephew in confusion.
"Ok, what did I miss?" she asked, and Leo grinned.
"Short version? We think Neena went back in time to change the original prophecy so that all four of you could coexist without a negative impact on your powers, and so we needed to summon you here to make up the power of four. The power of three is finished Prue, now, it's all four of you." He explained, and Prue's eyes expanded in wonder as she beheld her entire family, here to welcome her home, her three baby sisters, her grandmother, her mother, her father, her brother in law, her baby nephew and the nephew who she'd had to work so hard to convince of her intentions, they were all here.
"So, I'm back, for good, they can't stop us, none of them?" she asked, ecstatic excitement pounding through her, and Paige, her own eyes glittering with unshed tears, shook her head.
"No, because the Elders made your resurrection part of the Grand Design, we just moved it forward which they couldn't really stop us doing or we'd be vulnerable. Prue, you're back." She told her and Prue smiled, hardly daring to believe it.
"Welcome home." Victor croaked proudly as he beheld his daughter and Prue wrapped her father in a hug.
"Dad…" she breathed in wonder, hardly daring to believe that after the future when she and Chris were the only Halliwells left, she now had her entire family around her again.
"Welcome home darling, we've missed you." Grams told her as she and Patty hugged the former member of their company.
"So did it work? How much do you remember of the future?" Phoebe asked, rushing to Prue and hugging her in greeting as Prue held her tightly.
"Well I remember coming back, Chris and bits in between, but other than when you guys turned up, some of it's a bit of a blur, like I can remember watching over you the last three years, the Source, Cole and all that, but like your fights with Zankou and the little blond bitch, they're getting, hazy." She explained, and Chris grinned.
"Awesome, it actually worked. The power of four!" he said excitedly, and Leo grinned, gesturing to the book.
"I think you know what comes now." He told them as he hugged Prue in greeting, and Piper, tears of joy running down her face, smiled and nodded.
"I think so. Girls?" she asked, and with that, all four sisters moved to the podium with the book on it, all four of them walking as one.
Grams was looking at them with such pride as she had never had on her face before. Patty was watching them intently, her eyes not leaving her four daughters for an instant as all four of them took their first joint steps in their new destiny. Leo looked on with bated breath, almost giddy with excitement at what he was seeing. Victor's gaze was transfixed as Prue caressed the quadquetra on the front of the book, his heart swelling with joy and pride as he watched the four of them. Chris had picked up baby Wyatt, who was looking at the scene intently as a crying and smiling Piper laid her hand on the book, slightly overlapping with her sisters. Chris then took a shuddering breath (no, he wasn't going to cry, no matter how awesome it was to see all four Charmed Ones be joined together for the first time, sue him, he loved his family's history), but there were tears trying to materialise as Phoebe laid her hand on the book too. And with an encouraging nod from Prue, Paige took the last step and put her hand on the book as well, and…the world changed.
The house began to shake as blue rays of light descended from the ceiling, bathing the four sisters in its light, which then seemed to spread outwards from their bodies, flowing into one another as well as the room. The quadquetra on the front of the book expanded, pulled apart, and came together, closer than before, glowing orange as it did so and white light filled the room, as for the first time, all four Charmed Ones became the Charmed Ones, the four most powerful witches ever, bound by prophecy and destiny, together.
"Look at them Patty." Grams said, tears choking her proud voice and Patty nodded as she observed her four daughters, together with no reprisals, like she had always hoped…like she had always believed she had foreseen when pregnant with Phoebe.
"The Charmed Ones." Patty whispered proudly as the house filled with light as the Charmed Ones were constituted for the first time in their new guise.
"Looks like we're back." Leo told them, and Piper allowed herself a small smile.
"Not yet we're not. Shall we ladies?" she asked, and getting what his mother wanted to check, Chris conjured four combustive orbs and flew them into the air.
Prue grinned, flicking her orb away into the wall. Piper blasted hers apart, nodding appreciatively as her powers were restored to her. Phoebe cocked her head, her empathy redirecting the orb, and Paige easily orbed hers away.
"Looks like we really are back. Very nice." Piper said appreciatively, and her sisters nodded.
"Too true. All of four of us." Prue said happily and Paige put her hands in the air excitedly.
"Yay I get to hang out with my big sister!" she yelled in triumph and hugged Prue, while Phoebe affected a small pout.
"Hey, she's my big sister too!" she whined, smiling as she barged into their hug, and Piper shot them an amused look of outrage.
"Hey, she was my big sister first!" she exclaimed and with that, all four sisters hugged each other fiercely, the proud gazes of their family on their backs as they did so.
"Do we really have time for this?" Prue asked, tears running from her green eyes, and Piper waved a hand as though it were irrelevant.
"Who cares? My entire family is together and consequences be damned, we are going to celebrate! We can worry about everything else tomorrow." She decided, and Phoebe nodded.
"Can't say I disagree with that plan. Come on guys!" she ordered and with that, Grams, Patty, Victor, Leo, Chris and Wyatt all piled in, hugging one another ecstatically, laughing in joy as for the first time ever, their entire family was truly united, laughing and crying happily before Piper pulled away from the middle of the group, stroking Chris hair lovingly as she did so.
"Thank you honey. All this came from you." She said softly, and he shook his head.
"No it didn't mom, it was Neena." He said, and she smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Yeah, but we only ever met her because of you. You coming here started all this peanut, and I'm so very proud of you." She told him fondly, wrapping him in a loving hug which she was delighted to feel him return, and when she broke off, she turned to the room at large.
"Alright, I don't care about consequences, I don't care if the world goes to hell tonight, but we are celebrating, our sister is back from the dead, we are the power of four, my son has returned, and for the first time ever, our entire family is here, so let's celebrate. Leo, I don't care what they do, you are not going up there even if they rain hellfire down on us, you are staying with us. Chris, do not even think of going anywhere because you and Grams are going to help me in the kitchen, we are going to have a feast and no one is going to stop us. Paige, you and mom and Prue are all going to get to hang out together, and Phoebe, you and dad are going to play with Wyatt, because this is our first night together as a family, ever, and we are going to make it a night to remember. Got me?" she asked sharply, and Chris grinned as he answered for everyone.
"Got it mom." He assured her, and with that, his mother swept from the room, her happily chattering family following her down the stairs, laughing and joking as they headed to celebrate the beginnings of a new, and provided they found out who was trying to kill Wyatt, brighter and happier future than any of them ever could have imagined.
And so it is done, we now have the power of four, and for the first time, all four sisters are truly together.
I originally planned to add a peek of our enemies of the tale in here, but I felt that would diminish the happy ending of the family as for the first time the entire Halliwell clan is finally united. I hope I did a good job of explaining all that happened here, the timeline changes and I really hope I didnt give anyone a headache trying to grasp it all, but if you take anything away from this chapter, take away that the four sisters are properly together and everything looks happy and shiny and rosey and dandy
But as you can imagine, the future is still to be fought for, the true threats have yet to be revealed, and the story has barely begun
How will Prue's return be explained?
Where is Neena and what is she up to?
Who is after Wyatt?
Who is running the underworld?
What does Piper have planned?
How will Paige and Prue get on?
And what other changes to the timeline have taken place as a result of Neena's actions, and do they mean the future can now be saved?
We've barely begun, but I hope you all favourite, follow and most importantly, review to let me know what you thought of this chapter, and I hope to hear from you all soon and that the happy ending of the chapter has pleased people. And sorry TerraKing, but dont worry, what we discussed will be the start of the next chapter
Until then though, please read, favourite, follow and review and until next time!
