I have felt multiple types of adrenaline rushes in my life, but the rush I feel as I plunge down into the cold water is at the top of my list. Swimming back up to the surface, I whip my air away from my face and swim backwards to give a large berth for Dimitri to dive in after me.

Turning my face away from the wave he creates as he catapults into the water from the clifftop, I let out a laugh and wait for him to break the surface. A hand wraps around my ankle and pulls me down into the water and I open my eyes to see Dimitri's face in front of me, his hair floating around his face and he places his hand on my check before swimming to the surface.

"I told you this would be fun," I giggle swimming closer to him. He smiles and wraps his arms around me, moving his hands down to cup my ass, and I wrap my legs around his hips. I wrap my arms around his neck and catch his bottom lip between my teeth and tugging on it, making him growl. I enjoy being in the water, it makes you feel weightless and I love the feeling over the water over my skin.

He forces his tongue into my mouth, rubbing it against mine and he slips his fingers up the sides of my bottoms, stroking my skin with his fingers. I love his hands and I always have, the way the calloused bumps against my soft skin, the way the hands that could snap someone neck in a flex that caress and hold me so tenderly.

I suck on his tongue in a similar manner that I've done on another part of him before releasing him from my lips and twist my fingers into his hair. "Where do you want to go next?" I murmur as I rub my nose against his.

Dimitri chuckles at the gesture and moves his hands up my waist. "You pick."

I roll my eyes and huff, flicking his ear and pout. "No, I pick every time. You pick the next place. America, Italy, France, Canada, India? Pick something!" I say, rocking up on him. He groans as I slide over his enlarged shaft and pecks my lips.

"Why don't we go to Prague?"

I smirk and wag my brows at him, stroking the back of his neck. "I think that sounds perfect," I say kissing him again.

I think Europe is beautiful, there is nothing as beautiful as the architecture here, orange roofs and green steeples. I love watching people walk around in the square below the clock tower, seeing how tiny they are amongst the buildings.

"I really love the view."

Dimitri chuckles from behind me, wrapping arms around my waist and looking out of the arch over the square. The center of Prague is the main tourist location, and I understand why; it's breathtaking. "Where are Eddie and Ivan?" I ask, tilting my head up to look at him and he places a gentle kiss on my lips.

"They are out somewhere," he says nonchalantly, and I chuckle. I take his hand and pull him towards the stairs to descend the clock tower and drag him to one of the square-side restaurants and getting a table. "You know what I love the most about Prague?" I say as I look over a menu. Dimitri grunts in responses and I place the menu down, "Almost everyone speaks English."

Dimitri chuckles and sets his menu down on the table, sliding around the curved booth next to me and puts his arm around my shoulders. I snuggle in closer to him and rest my hand on his leg, watching as the staff turn on the fire lamps lining the patio. We've been in Prague for a week and we decided to stay in a hotel instead of a house because we don't know how long we will be staying.

Dimitri has started to distance himself from the empire we took over and is slowly filtering money into an offshore bank account so nobody notices. That offshore account is so that when he fully steps away that we can disappear from this world and start our own life. We just have one more thing to take care of, and it is going take the most time to do it.

I pull myself out of my thoughts when warm lips skim over the shell of my ear, and I turn my head to kiss him deeply. I pull back breathless and lick my lips as he grins down at me. "I ordered for you, the waiter asked you three times, so I ordered some pasta dish."

I blush and press my face into his shoulder, chuckling in embarrassment. "Thanks," I murmur. I can feel a heavy hum in Dimitri's mind for the last few days, the closer we get to stepping away from it all, the heavier the hum gets.

"What's troubling you, Comrade?" I ask stroking his cheek tenderly. He grabs my hand and kisses my palm and holding it against his lips long after he kissed it. "I want to do something before we leave, but I'm worried I'll be causing more pain than closure."

I knit my brows together, brushing his mind and look for what he is so concerned about before a face I know well becomes crystal clear. A soft face with greying brown hair and brown eyes identical to his; his mother. I sigh and turn his face to mine, stroking his face with my thumb. "You want to say goodbye," I say tenderly. He nods slowly and I smile sadly. I already had the chance to say goodbye to mine; though I promised that I would contact them once a year, it may be different with the Belikovas.

"We will go and see them, even if they don't know you are there. We will say goodbye."

The house hasn't changed since either of us were last here. The white picket fence that needs mending, two-story house that screams comfort and love. Standing under the shade of a massive willow across the street, I hold Dimitri's hand tightly as his heart races and anxiety flickers through his body.

"Do you want to let them know you are here?" I ask, squeezing his hand as he stares at his childhood home. He swallows roughly and breaths in deeply. "I don't know," he whispers back.

I sigh and shift on my feet, trying to figure out how to comfort him. I feel him tense up as the front door opens and I see Olena step out onto the porch, her hair piled in a bun on the top of her head and she walks down to the front garden. Look up to Dimitri I watch as a tear rolls down his cheek and I lift my other hand to wipe it from his cheek.

I snap my head up again when the front door opens and I watch Yeva hobble down the stairs, down the front path and past Olena. Yeva walks off the property towards us and Dimitri tenses up stepping back to the tree. I stand my ground as she approaches us, and Olena calls out to her in their native tongue.

Yeva comes to a stop in front of me, staring up at me with her beady eyes before she moves them to her grandson who has a look of fear on his face.

"Stop cowering Dimka, hug your babushka!" she snaps and Dimitri lurches forward to wrap his arms carefully around her frail body. He sucks in a quivering breath and I watch his tremble around her. Yeva strokes the back of his head affectionally while whispering to him in Russian. I step back and watch Olena walk cautiously from her place in the yard, taking her gardening gloves off her hands and placing them in her back pocket. I step back into the sun and watch the shock cross her face as she takes in me before moving her gaze to Dimitri.

Olena puts her hands over her mouth, pleadingly whispering for her mother to step away from him. Yeva pulls out of his arms and turns to face her daughter with a sly grin on her face. "Stop your floundering Olena, come say goodbye to your son," Yeva says pulling Dimitri fully into the afternoon sun.

Dimitri and Olena stare at each other for minutes, neither of them moving or speaking. Yeva walks closer to me and pats my cheek. "Take care of yourselves, run far away from this world. You will be better for it," she says, and I smile, placing my hand over it and nod.

Dimitri takes a tentative step closer to his mother, his hands out in a gesture of surrender and peace. "Mama," he whispers, and I watch her eyes well up with tears as she takes a careful step closer to him before grasping his hand. Olena breaks into tears and steps into his arms, clutching to him tightly and crying her heart out. Dimitri wraps his arms around her, resting his cheek on the top of her head and letting his tears fall freely.

"I just wanted to say goodbye," Dimitri whispers and Olena pulls out of his arms, confused.

I step closer, letting her take me in completely and allow the red in my eyes to shine through. "We are Strigoi, but we don't act like them. We are leaving the Moroi world, we just wanted to say goodbye before we do. The monthly transfers should continue for a few more years," I explain, grasping her hand and squeezing gently.

Olena looks between us before she realizes what we are saying. "All that money, it was from you?" she asks, looking at her son. Dimitri nods and she smiles sadly, hugging him again.

"I don't think I will ever be ready to let you go," she whispers sadly, and Dimitri nods against her head.

"I know you don't want to Olena, but it isn't safe for us anymore, and this isn't the life we want," I say softly, and she pulls out of his arms and hugs me tightly. "Please take care of my son," Olean whispers into my ear and I hug her back just as tight, promising I will protect him.

We spend the next few minutes saying our goodbyes to the Belikova women before Dimitri takes his mother into his arms again and kissing her forehead affectionately. "I love you Mama; I will do my best to take care of you for as long as I can."
