Charon sat at his desk again and smiled as he eagerly awaited to once again interact with someone who had more personality than an undead zombie.
The first to appear in the chair across from his desk was a young lady with black hair tied in a pony tail. She had dark tan skin and big brown puppy dog eyes.
Hilde was startled a bit when she found herself in such a new place, which didn't surprise Charon at all.
"Quite the dream there. An interrogation room of all things." Charon jokes knowingly.
"Uh... excuse me? But how did I get here? Where am I?" Hilde timidly looked around coughing at how much smoke was in the room.
"My name is Charon. I'm a guide to the deceased. Welcome to your final dream. On the boundary of life and death." Charon explains calmly.
"Oh... so this is a dream... So I can just wake up right?" Hilde asked.
"No. You have died." Charon sighed.
"What?!? I'm dead?!? How is that possible!?!" Hilde instantly teared up.
"You won't be able to wrap your head around it, not yet at least." Charon smiles as he puffed on his pipe.
"You have only just gotten out of the River of Oblivion." Charon replied.
"So I drowned?" Hilde asked unsure.
"The river of oblivion helps guide souls that have died to me, but at the cost of them losing their memories." Charon proclaimed.
"Now that you mention it... I can't remember my name." Hilde freaked out.
"Your current state is on the verge of death. However you will be given the chance of resurrection at a price." Charon announced.
"So... I'm not dead???" Hilde was very confused.
"I will be giving you a task you must complete to be resurrected. Finishing the tasks will prove you are worthy of being resurrected." Charon sighs.
"Oh! Okay than!" Hilde nodded.
"You must find your own awnsers for being resurrected. To advoid becoming the deceased that wander the Netherworld, because they are unable to find a reason to live and thus end up attacking people." Charon said.
"What does that mean I'll be attack by these deceased in my test?" Hilde cried.
"It's very likely. Also don't get bitten or your soul will weaken and that could be very bad." Charon replied.
"Yikes! Who knew resurrection would involve fighting zombies!?!" Hilde gasped.
"To help you on your test I will ask you a serious of questions to gauge what your personality is based on your awnsers." Charon explains.
"Oh neat! A personality test!" Hilde chimed.
"Very well than... Let's begin." Charon proceeds to ask Hilde many questions and write things down in his book as she responds to them.
"You are a kind person. Full of hope and you see the world in a bright light. You have a strong sense of justice that leads to tunnel vision when you witness someone commit a crime. Your task will be to take this bag of letters and write a heartfelt letter. You will than give this heartfelt letter to someone. You'll know who when it's time." Charon explains handing over the small hang bag.
"Oh no. Not letters! I hate writing!" Hilde cried.
"You have seven days. You will be meeting others who are linked with you in one way or another or met their demise around the time you did. You must go through the test with them." Charon announced.
"Oh neat! I hope I met lots of good people who will help me!" Hilde beamed.
"Keep in mind that their tasks are different from yours. Some might not be so eager to help you and others you might find to be your enemy." Charon explains.
"What!?! So I might have to fight them?" Hilde cried.
"There are no rules. No cut offs either. You can work with others or against them it matters not. I only care about you completing your task." Charon thinks for a moment, "One more thing. We will met again though you will not remember me. Know that your actions toward me will not effect your resurrection and who knows... Maybe I'll even surprise you with the few benefits I get as the god of death." Charon smirked.
"Well if we do meet each other. I hope we're friends!" Hilde smiles.
"Are you prepared? With that I bid you good luck." Charon watched as Hilde gets warped away.
"Hmmm. Perhaps this loop will offer me an interesting experience. One I wouldn't normally have. Now I'm eager to join in my own game. I think it's going to be fun." Charon smiled.
