Good day everyone and welcome to the new and improved Ballad of the Strawberry. Chapters will be short but I'll try to make them as often as possible which will hopefully be about thrice a week. Hope all of you are staying safe during this trying time and please always feel free to leave a comment or PM me directly if you have a questions. Criticism welcome now onto the feature presentation.
Ichigo was on his way home after a long day of school. The warm breeze flowing over him, slowly shifting his bright orange hair with the leaves swaying in its soft embrace. Birds soft chirping in the nearby trees. Footfalls soft as he padded along the sidewalk, the same way every day for the last week. Shifting the weight of his backpack Ichigo let out a sigh. It was relaxing to have a day that wasn't interrupted by the riffraff that usually made his life interesting. Ichigo thought to himself that if this weather and peace kept up he might take Karin and Yuzu out on a picnic, they hadn't really had much bonding time as of late. It would do them some good and maybe give him some peace from goat-chin.
Shaking those thoughts from his mind Ichigo sighed as he rounded the corner only to find the source of his next headache knocking on the door, or rather, knocking over the small vase of flowers that had been set out for his most recent deceased acquaintance. Setting his backpack down at the corner Ichigo slowly walked up to the group of thugs as they approached him. Disregarding his existence the lead skateboarder sped right into Ichigo's foot, sending him to the ground with a deafening silence following.
One of the remaining three hooligans checked up on their downed leader, the other two staring at Ichigo as if he just shouted the sky was purple. Looking up Ichigo cringed as the sky did have a tint of purple to it as the sun slowly set behind him. He would have to prepare for the beat-down to come when he got home. That wasn't till later, for now he had to teach these thugs a lesson about manners. Peering behind the group as if ignoring them he nodded to the ghost of the small girl the flowers were for. She smiled at his sign and stood back.
"It's time to leave, this is your first and last warning. Now go before you further ruin this afternoon for yourselves." The two closest to Ichigo gaped at his words for a moment before getting word from their third buddy that their leader was okay and just unconscious.
"What?!" The skateboarder on the left exclaimed incredulously. "First you appear out of nowhere and kick Yama-san and then expect us to just leave?" Scowl firmly in place, Ichigo merely growled out his response.
"Yes." Yes, he was so going to beat Goat-chin. Might just make all of this worth it.
"You wanna die or what?" The skater on the right commented as they cracked their knuckles in preparation for the beat down they were going to lay on the carrot-topped kid. He chuckled to himself without changing the scowl allowing it to lift ever so slightly. Yes, this would be fun but why not teach them a lesson while beating them up. Yes, that's what he would do.

"Say something you-" The skateboarder couldn't finish the sentence as Ichigo set a high kick to his face smashing him down into the hard pavement. Deciding his downed victim wasn't worth the extra effort he strode passed him, approaching the remaining two standing skaters. Ichigo gained a tick mark as he noticed their sudden fear of him after taking out two of their friends. He gazed at the knocked over vase out of the corner of his eyes as his plan started to come together. He pointed at the vase.
"You! Look over there!" Both of the remaining hooligans looked at the vase as water continued to leak from his clear interior. Looking back at Ichigo questioningly, wondering what the apparently deranged teen had in mind. "Tell me what the hell that could be! You! The stinky looking one!" Ichigo pointed at the larger, beanie wearing skater.
"H-uh? Me?" He pointed at himself after his intelligent response, finding Ichigo still staring at him he sighed. 'Today is the day I die.' "I guess it's some kind of offering to the kid who died here recently?" Ichigo seemed satisfied and the skater sighed before suddenly being pushed to the ground by the orange-haired teens foot. A groan of pain leaving his mouth before Ichigo grinned madly at them.
"Is that so? Then why are they knocked over?" The only remaining one standing shook with fear under Ichigo's expectant gaze.
"W-we knocked it over when we rode by I-I guess?" He flinched as Ichigo raised his hand to point behind him where the little girl was currently floating.
"Then why don't you go and APOLOGIZE!" They all screamed and started to run past Ichigo and the girl shouting apologies and begging for forgiveness as they ran and dragged away their de-facto leader.
