Everyone woke up around the same time as per rules of the game with this new day came their memories. At this point Charon realized he needed to make his own fake memories or something. He wondered if he should tell them a bit about himself but in a way they wouldn't figure out it was him.
However that wouldn't work. He has never had a mortal life. He usually just finds souls that are washed up on the shores of the river of Oblivion as he's the ferry man who guides souls across it and sometimes beating people across the head with his oar to stay in the river.
To amuse Balaam dark humor Charon considered telling them that he's a priest who would beat the crap out stupid people with the bible and preach his belief to them. Than he wondered how this effect Kirell's point of view of him. It be close to what honestly does at times though.
No...
Charon needed something more worthy of resurrection. He consider saying that he was a poor man who has to do everything he could to get money and food without resorting to killing or stealing. That felt more redeeming. He could also say that he's the son of a very religious fisherman.
Yes... This could work...
Kirell woke up first she thought that she got shot as the dream felt so real, but she wasn't bleeding.
"Seems like my memory is coming back to me but by bit. If I'm to believe my dream is true than the person who shot me might be in this game too... If that's the case than we might no recognize each other with no memory and might become friends." Kirell talked to herself as Ron starts writing everything down.
Balaam woke up startled. Unknown to Kirell and himself he had the same dream as Kirell.
"What's wrong?" Kirell asked.
"Someone shot and betrayed me!" Balaam replied.
"You too? I got shot in my dream." Kirell pointed out.
"Ooo I can already sense the connection." Balaam proclaimed.
"I think our dreams are suppose to show us what happened in real life." Kirell awnsered.
"I think so too." Ron nodded, "I dreamt that I was super poor and that I had to beg for money." Ron declared.
"Now that I've seen what life is like. I can't wait to get my task done and out of my way!" Balaam proclaimed.
"If you ask me it seems all three of us didn't have good lives. You two were both killed by someone and I died of poverty. Is it really worth trying to get resurrected over?" Ron sighed.
"Honestly I don't care if I get resurrected or not! I just want a chance to take down my nemesis who killed me." Balaam explains.
"The one you shot in your dreams wasn't me right?" Kirell asked.
"You don't beat around the bush. And what if it was???" Balaam teased.
"Sorry stupid question." Kirell realized.
"Right. Real practical maybe that's why I don't feel like shooting you." Balaam suggested.
"What about you Kirell... what if you find out life is not going to be good if you get back? Would you still go?" Ron asked.
"Ron is being such a downer today. It's making me question my resolve. I wanted to get revived so I went with this crazy man hoping to wait for someone to die... but now... I don't even know if I want to be revived." Kirell thinks depressed.
"I don't know." Kirell looks depressed.
"I'm sure there's probably a few good things to live for. Even if it's something like revenge on those who wronged you at least it's something right?" Balaam suggested.
"But what's after revenge? What am I suppose to do after that?" Kirell sighed.
"Id just continue my life as normal. Try to be happy with the life I was dealt with. Pretty easy stuff." Balaam pointed out.
"But is that really worth all the pain... I don't know about you... but I feel like I need something more than that. Something deeper and more important." Kirell explains.
Balaam glared hatefully at Ron, "Ugh! Come on don't let this loser depress you! I'm sure you'll find something to live for that's meant for you. For me. I'm a simple guy. Simple things make me happy. " Balaam sighed.
"I must look pretty pathetic if Balaam of all people is trying to cheer me up." Kirell thinks and blushed, "You know maybe Balaam has a nicer side to him he just doesn't show to anyone. I think I misjudged him." Kirell thinks smiling.
"Thanks Balaam." Kirell beamed, "I guess I've been a bit of pessimistic." Kirell admitted.
"It's this weirdos fault he started it." Balaam pointed out.
Ron writes in his book, "Balaam is a simple guy. Simple things make him happy."
"My apologies. How about I brighten the mood than. What are you're guys thoughts about relationships. Such as having a girlfriend or boyfriend or maybe getting married one day?" Ron suggested.
Kirell was curious about this too, "I don't know. I don't have any memories on the subject. And I don't know much about how those relationships work." Kirell awnsered.
"Personally... I think having those kind of relationships might get in the way of the things I want to do... but you know maybe if Kirell was like my partner in crime. I'd totally be fine with that." Balaam beamed.
"Gag." Kirell made a face.
"I mean like as a friend. Not that weird stuff okay!" Balaam turned red.
"I don't want any part in your crimes." Kirell sighed.
"Welp I guess I'll just die friendless and lonely than." Balaam jokes.
Kirell looked like she felt guilty, "I'm sure... you could find someone who understands you... and have them be your partner in crime. And I guess we can be friends. I just won't help you cause trouble." Kirell sighed.
"Guess that's the best I can hope for! I'll gladly take it." Balaam laughed, "By the way. I'm pretty sure I went to bed around the same time and got up around the same time as yesterday." Balaam pointed out.
"Yeah I don't remember how I fell asleep." Kirell pointed out.
"They are making sure we are well rested. Anyways is your compass still working? Come on! Hurry up!" Balaam was very excited.
"Why are you so excited!?!" Kirell protested.
"I told you. I want us to work together and help each other out." Balaam exclaimed.
"Im starting to think your just a sad and lonely man who wants our company." Ron shrugged.
"Heh. Yeah keep pushing my patience weirdo. Just know I'm totally okay with shooting you." Balaam threatens.
"Awl don't be like that. Were friends. We gotta give each other shit once and while!" Ron beamed.
"Are you really his friend???" Kirell looked worried.
"Sure why not? Just because he kills folk? I figure it's just part of the game. I mean if folk are going to try killing you. Might as well defend yourself. It's not like he's killing people who don't want him dead." Ron shrugged.
"Well... I guess you have a point there." Kirell sighed.
"I appreciate you having my back and all but your just too creepy for me to trust. I don't what it is about you... Maybe your eyes. Your eyes feel like they are looking into my soul. I don't like it." Balaam admitted.
"Oh Balaam my eyes will get far more scarier the closer we get to the end of this game as it'll be much harder to hide myself from you all," Charon thinks, "I wonder if they will unnerved you so much that you decide to try killing me. As than you'll understand just how much of a threat I could be to you all." Charon smiles as he thinks about this.
"The same could be said the same about your eyes. They are cold and indifferent like a killer. While Kirell's looks like she's been through some crazy shit." Ron explains.
"Touché." Balaam admitted, "But yours feels almost unnatural somehow." Balaam pointed out.
"I don't know what to tell you. It's just what life gave me." Ron sighed.
"Anyways we should probably follow Kirell's compass for now." Balaam suggested, "That's if Kirell wants our help still." Balaam pointed out.
"I'll think about it." Kirell sighed.
"Well it's better than nothing. Oh yeah that reminds me. Did you get a riddle?" Balaam asked Ron.
Charon wondered what to say. He could just say no right? That be safer than admitting that he met with the other however if they rat him out he'll be in even more trouble.
"Well. While I was looking for you guys who left me. I did see the others. So maybe. Let me check." Ron looks at his book not expecting anything, but was surprised to find a riddle.
Balaam snatches the book from Ron before he could protest, "A coin has two sides. They are different from each other but they are still part of one item." Balaam looked confused.
"Maybe it's a hint that there a part of your life that's better than the one you saw. Like your only seeing half the truth. Or only half of the whole picture!" Kirell eagerly guessed.
"Or maybe it's saying he has a split personality or something." Balaam pointed out.
Ron gestured for the book and Balaam held it over his head, "Nuh Uh! You can't fool me. You accidentally get left behind and somehow ended up meeting all the participants? That's way to suspicious!" Balaam explains.
"Wait! Please! I swear it wasn't on purpose! I did find out something that can be of use though!" Ron begged.
"And the fact your telling us this now really pisses me off!" Balaam growled.
"I wasn't planning on keeping it a secrete! It's just hard to find the right moment to mention it when your talking with Kirell." Ron explains.
"I'm reading this!" Balaam reads the book, "Why some of it blacked out!?!" Balaam cursed.
"The book does that. I'm not sure why. But certain things I write will be hidden from others who read it." Ron cried, "Please believe me." Ron begged.
Balaam looked at Ron growling, "I met sweet Hilde again and with her was a cautious and very observant old man. They weren't quite getting along and my presence and questions only increased suspicion on the old man who carried a gun. I told Hilde about the fun and interesting things I've learned about Balaam and Kirell. I think Hilde almost wanted to join us and see for herself if my words rang true or not, but Argo the old man, needed her. He had no choice but to tell us his weakness even though I might very well tell my friends. The gun he has only works when someone else wants him to kill. He alone can't make the gun fire. Upon me leaving them it seemed Hilde was much more determined to help the old man and guide him through this game. But whether or not he wants to finish his task is up to him. Until than they must survive." Balaam reader out loud.
"So this Argo has a gun like Balaam and can't fire unless someone else wants him too." Kirell gasped.
"This is perfect! I can use this to my advantage... I just need to find a way to get him alone and to piss him off!" Balaam smirked, "If he's got a gun. It's got to be him! My gut is telling me he's the one I'm looking for!" Balaam likes excited and gives Ron his book back, "I changed my mind. Your worth keeping around. Your ability to gather intell is game changing!" Balaam replied happily.
"So your going after this Argo guy?" Kirell asked.
"Yeah. I think I will. You'll have to drag Hilde away. Really far away from us. The farther the better." Balaam pointed out, "Hopefully it's got a range. If we can find that range... he's good as dead!" Balaam replied happily.
"Don't underestimate Argo. He's stronger than you think. I can tell he's trained just like you." Ron warned.
"Yeah! I love a good challenge! This is going to be the duel of the century!" Balaam smirked.
"Balaam... If this guy really did kill you. Don't you want to find out why instead of getting revenge?" Kirell asked, "I'd at least want to hear him out. Maybe I deserved it. Maybe I did something bad..." Kirell frowned.
"He killed me! He took away my life! He stole it away from me! I'm going to steal away his! It's only fair!" Balaam tells her.
"Interesting... I wonder if you'll change your mind if you do hear his side of things. Than what would you two do than? Who should get resurrected... Because from the sounds of it. Only one of you will get the chance and the other has to die." Ron pointed out.
"I was hoping we could all get resurrected somehow. If I knew that was possible. Maybe I wouldn't feel so bad about completing my task." Kirell pointed out, "I'd help everyone with their task first and than I could kill them myself in peace knowing they'll be okay." Kirell decided.
"Ah I see. So that's how you feel." Ron writes something in his book.
"I think I understand now what the mysterious force has been guiding Kirell towards. I underestimated her kindness. Her true desire guides her to loop this game is one that seeks to find a way to save everyone. If this is the case. Than I must either force her to adandon that kindness or break my own game to allow such a wish to be granted. Perhaps in a way... I've already laid the ground work to break my own game and grant that wish. Heh. We shall see. And if not. I shall decide when it's time." Charon write down.
"Welp that's just impossible, because I already killed Philip. Don't think he's getting his resurrection. And that's just how the world works. The world is cruel like that. Life is just unfair to certain people who can't overcome what life throws at them." Balaam protested.
Kirell looked depressed, "Yeah maybe your right." She sighed.
"That kind of attitude Balaam is why you'll never get resurrected. In my option. Trying is better than giving up. If you truly want everyone to get resurrected even this depressing moron over here. I'm going to help you! It won't be easy! But with my ability to gather information! We'll help everyone complete their tasks and than complete yours!" Ron felt inspired to help Kirell now and cheer her on.
"Oh really? And just how do you plan to get me and my nemisis to be reborn together. We have to kill each other." Balaam sighed.
"Kill each other at the same time. It's the only way." Ron nodded.
"Oh that's brilliant!" Kirell smiled.
"You get your revenge and he finished his task and your both revived. The only question is what you'll do once your back in the real world. Will you try killing him again?" Ron asked.
"Hmmm... That would be an interesting twist..." Balaam thinks about this, "Tell you what. If you can somehow make a truce to get us to talk. I'll listen to my nemesis and hear his explanation. But no promises what happens after that. I figure this way. I'm at least trying to go along with your guys insanity for reviving everyone even if I think it's impossible." Balaam shrugged.
"That's fine with me. I can work with this!" Ron was super excited, "Let's go everyone! We need to help Kirell finish her task!" Ron chirped.
"Right. Thanks!" Kirell was looking more determined and excited herself at the thought of a happy ending for everyone.
As they follow the compass to an abandoned building they have to go inside it. Looking around the bedroom it seems the compass is pointing to a drawer.
"I think your compass was pointing at those drawers over there." Balaam pointed out.
Kirell pulls out the old green gun which Charon dubbed, suicide gun.
"Was it pointing at the gun?" Balaam asked.
"Seems useless." Kirell realized.
"I can't even take the bullets out of mine so don't ask." Balaam replied.
The compass starts spinning.
"Ha looks like your dumb compass needs fresh blood!" Balaam laughed.
Kirell looked bothered by his statement, "Remember if we kill everyone after there task is complete they'll be fine. If you keep that in mind it's not so bad." Ron suggested.
Kirell smiles at Ron giving him a grateful look.
"Yeah. Guess one dead person isn't enough. But maybe the next one we can kill after their task is done." Kirell stayed hopeful.
"Yup seems like is my guns turn to see some action!" Balaam beamed.
"So... someone's going to have to die." Kirell frowned wondering who it needs to be.
"What you wanting to get your hands dirty?" Balaam asked.
"No that's not it!" Kirell sighed.
"Just sit back and let me do my thing." Balaam smirked.
"Hey! We argeed we'd try to get everyone resurrected! You can't just kill anyone! We have to be careful who are next target is!" Kirell tells him.
"Dam it. And just how the hell are we going to figure out when it's their time to go?" Balaam groaned.
"I'll help you with that." Ron explains, "After all it's my job to collect intell. If I can discover everyone's task and figure out how everyone suppose to complete it. I can tell you who you can kill, "If you ask me. I think Hilde would be the closest to completing their task. She just needs to write a heart felt letter. The only problem is. She doesn't have the means to do it. So we must figure out how and too who." Ron explains.
"Fun." Balaam groaned, "I'm still going to defend myself if they come attacking." Balaam warned.
"That's fine." Kirell sighed.
Suddenly zombies...
"Hey look over there! Those must be the undead who failed the test!" Balaam shouted.
"Never heard of them." Kirell awnsered.
"Didn't that dude tell you? What's his name Charon? If you don't complete your task in seven days you'll become an undead and wander around forever." Balaam pointed out.
"Charon actually said that?" Kirell blinked confused.
"Did I forget to mention that??? I had to talk to so many people. Maybe I did..." Charon thinks.
A zombie tries to attack Balaam as he's sitting down, but he quickly gets up and dashed out of the way.
"What did you think I was really going to sit there and let you attack me?" Balaam teased the zombie.
"Are they freaking zombies!?!" Kirell cried as Balaam began his assault on them.
"Get off me you freaking zombies!" Balaam shoots one that tried to give him a hug of bitting, "Hey Kirell try to keep up! You too weirdo." Balaam shouted.
Ron puts on the mask he got and keeps writing as he followed them being ignored by the undead. They'd ignore him anyways, but at least the mask gives him a better excuse why zombies don't try to hurt him than Philio has.
"Ugh I can't believe it. I'm actually depending on you." Kirell sighed.
"Yup all the ladies eventually come back for more Balaam." Balaam smiles.
"Alright moments gone now your just being annoying." Kirell responded.
"Awl why so shy? Hey here they come!" Balaam responded.
Balaam begins shooting zombies down with his gun as Kirell keeps up with him and Ron just trudged along writing in his book.
"Hey why the hell aren't they attacking weirdo?" Balaam shouted.
"I think it's the mask he's wearing. The one he took from Philip." Kirell pointed out.
"Oh. Yeah. Now that you mention it... Philip wasn't bothered by the undead either... Hey asshole share the dam mask!" Balaam shouted.
"Okay." Ron goes over and tries to give it to Kirell.
"No it's fine. I can just use a stick to defend myself. You should keep it. You have to write everything we're doing anyways. You can't do that and fend off the zombies." Kirell assures him.
"Thank you for understanding." Ron smiled.
After an hour of fighting it seems the horde has finally been stopped and they reach what appears to be a hotel next to two stairs down an alleyway.
"Thanks for nothing!" Balaam snatched the mask and it vanished returning to Ron, "What the???" Balaam looked surprised.
"Hmmm. Well that's odd huh." Ron replied.
"What did you like somehow get Philip's task when you took the mask?" Balaam hissed.
"No other wise I'd know about it. I don't know what Philip's task was." Ron explains.
"Don't play dumb with me! Your getting more and more suspicious every minute!" Balaam protested.
"Are you really that threatened by my presence? I mean I'm unarmed. What more do you want from me?" Ron groaned.
"I want the truth. Don't think I don't know you've been buttering me up this whole time and playing pretend! I'm not an idiot!" Balaam shouted.
"Balaam what are you talking about?!?" Kirell sighed.
"Hey look. We're not alone." Ron pointed to Hilde and Argo who are close by.
"Don't change the subject!" Balaam groaned but sighed.
"The old man is Argo." Ron whispered.
"Huh looks like Ron was right. Old man defiantly looks dangerous. Alright..." Balaam takes a deep breath, "I still need to do my task so hate me later okay?" Balaam tells Kirell.
"Wait! What do you mean by that?!?" Kirell cried.
"Just back me up." Balaam asked.
"First tell me what your going to do!!!" Kirell whined.
"No time." Balaam starts crouching and skillfully sneaks over to Hilde.
"Ugh what is he thinking!?!" Kirell groaned.
"Seems like maybe he's not as confident in our resurrection for all plan. Or perhaps he's scared. After all there's nothing stopping us from keeping him from being resurrected. It's not like he's given us any reason to trust him. So perhaps in his mind he's still expecting betrayal on our end." Ron explains.
"He's not going to kill Hilde is he?!?" Kirell was freaking out as she watched Balaam put a gun to her head.
"Let's listen." Ron hushed.
"Hey there little girl!" Balaam smiles.
"Eeek! Balaam?!?" Hilde cried.
"Woah there put the gun down." Balaam ordered as Argo stared at him, "See this gun I got here pointing at the nice lady?" Balaam replied.
Argo just looked for Ron who was with Kirell and than back to Hilde, unable to find them.
"Okay. So no one is putting down there gun." Balaam sighed.
"Tell me what you want." Argo ordered.
"You catch on quick. Tell me your name." Balaam ordered just to see if he'd do it.
"Argo." Argo tells him.
"And your task?" Balaam suggested, but Argo didn't awnser, "Okay that say good by to miss cry baby." Balaam threatened.
"Oh my god he's really going to do it! I have to stop him!" Kirell cried.
"No wait!" Ron grabbed her hand stopping her.
"I can't shoot my gun whenever I want. And if what Ron says is true... Neither can you." Argo explains.
"No fucking way! You dirty rat! You ratted next out?!? How did you know? I didn't tell anyone!" Balaam looked at Ron murderously.
"Wait? So what is the condition for Balaam's gun?" Kirell blinked.
"As long as neither Hilde or me don't want to kill you. You can't shoot you. However... That also means I can't shoot you because I need someone to want to shoot you. And as soon as someone wants to shoot you... You can fire your gun." Argo explains.
"Hold crap is that really true!?!" Kirell blinked.
"Fucking hell! So your saying If I want to kill either of you Im going to have to not use my gun." Balaam looked determined.
"The moment you try it. I have no doubts Hilde will tell me to shoot you." Argo explains.
"I have a hostage! You'll kill us both if you shoot idiot!" Balaam hissed.
"Hilde... Do I have permission to shoot him?" Argo asked.
"Uhhh..." Hilde looked at Balaam unsure.
"Your fucking crazy! She will literally die with me!" Balaam shouted.
"Enough! Both of you stand down." Ron ordered and walked toward them as Kirell followed.
Kirell points her gun at them, "If anyone shoots. I'll shoot them first!" Kirell threatened.
"Seems your both no amateurs consider how well you both hid yourself." Argo pointed out.
"There's no point in pointing guns at everyone's face so you both might as well drop them." Kirell awnsered.
"Me too? Hell no!" Balaam shouted.
"Hmm... if you really did intend to kill Balaam. He'd shoot us." Argo noted.
"I didn't say I'd kill you both. I said I'd shoot you both. Big difference!" Kirell replied.
"If I drop my gun it'll be the last thing I do." Argo protested.
"No one can shoot each other. So let's just talk this out. There's no reason we can't all work together to accomplish our goals. I think I know how we can all get resurrected, but you have to trust well... me and Kirell mostly." Ron explained.
"Hey!" Balaam hissed.
"You don't even believe in what we're trying to do! So you can shut up Balaam!" Kirell tells him.
"It's impossible I'm telling you! Life's to cruel for everyone to get a happy ending!" Balaam growled.
"I'm not just doing this for them. I'm doing this for you Balaam. Your annoying, creepy and weird but I think underneath all that there's a good person in there... somewhere..." Kirell tells him.
"Yeah that's unlikely but I'm flattered you think so highly of me." Balaam laughed.
"Just shut up and trust me Balaam. If I'm wrong that the worst than can happen to us is that we all have to kill ourselves before we turn undead. Please... Trust me." Kirell begged.
"I want to help Kirell resurrect you all. You might not agree that everyone should be resurrected, but I do think that maybe... it's possible. You just have to fight for it." Ron explained.
"Look... from the sounds of it Argo. You have to kill someone too but there's a chance that can lead to you both getting revived. We just have to do it right." Kirell promised.
"Hilde. I'm going to ask you again. Do I have permission to shoot Balaam?" Argo sighed.
"Hilde please..." Kirell begged.
"I'm sorry. I honestly don't think people like Balaam deserve to live." Hilde replied.
"That's quite the tunnel vision you got there. You don't even know Balaam like we do. You just don't like being on the other side of his gun. Yet he hasn't killed you. In fact he even let you go once. Kirell let you go once. I betrayed Balaam the most and told you his weakness. Yet that means nothing to you. What a pity. How very short sighted and judgmental of you." Ron shook his head.
Hilde winced in guilt at his words, "Hilde they are the bad guys. Don't let them fool you. Kirell needs dead people for her task and Balaam needs to kill folk. And Ron is a double agent playing some secrete end game for himself." Argo explains.
"Oh how bold to accuse me of that! Hehe." Ron smiled creepily.
"I fucking knew it! You double agent asshole!" Balaam shouted.
"Hey that's no fair! Aren't you suppose to kill someone too!" Kirell shouted, "And I trust Ron! He's gotta play both sides to get us to come together. I don't think he's ever wanted anyone to get hurt. Though I do think he weirdly gets Balaam's point of view and that's creepy but still! I believe in him too!" Kirell protested.
"Thanks." Ron smiled genuinely.
"I will not go around killing everyone I see. There are personal considerations I must make." Argo announced.
"So literally just like Balaam! I know he acts big and tough and threatening! But obviously it's just to piss you guys off to make you want to kill him! That's like not even fair! Balaam wants to get resurrected too! Balaam has things he wants to do and stuff just like the rest of us! Why is it that he has to be the sacrifice for us to get resurrected!?! If you ask me that's wrong!" Kirell hissed, "If we want to complete our tasks we need to work together so we can all get revived!" Kirell shouted.
"Come on Kirell it's obviously not working. They just aren't listening." Balaam groaned, "I'm getting out of here. Don't over do it." Balaam warned and ran off.
"Don't over do it huh? That means you are. I see you gun is broken. Your bluffs won't work on me." Argo replied.
"Shit." Kirell realized she's in a bad spot.
"Don't let her go Argo! She's working with Balaam!" Hilde shouted.
"And I saved your life." Kirell spat.
"You also told Balaam I was there!" Hilde hissed.
"He took one look at your crying face and decided it wasn't worth killing you that day and ask me to decide if we should let you go or not!" Kirell hissed, "And I did even though obviously that was a horrible idea since now Argo knows what my task is now." Kirell hissed, "You endangered my life! And now when I'm trying to help us all and get us to happy ending you reject my aid!" Kirell shouted.
"You could be planning a trap to kill us all! People like you and Balaam need to be stopped!" Hilde cried, "Please Argo shoot her." Hilde begged.
"Hilde... I have to think about my task to. I ask you to let me think things over." Argo sighed.
"So wait. Does that mean your considering my offer of peace?" Kirell asked.
"No. I think it's a trap as well. But if I go around killing everyone who tries to kill us because of this game. It doesn't make me any better than Balaam." Argo pointed out.
"You'll regret this later." Kirell runs off with Ron who sighed.
Kirell mets up with Balaam and Balaam seems furious with Ron. Balaam loads his gun and aims at Ron's head.
"Woah easy there!" Kirell jumped.
"I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at this lying snake! Spill it how the fuck did you find out about my weakness!?!" Balaam hissed.
"You can't kill me. I don't hate you. I don't even want to kill you!" Ron shrugged.
"Mother fucking son of bitch!" Balaam kicks a trash can and looks really scary, "I don't need my gun to kill you!" Balaam puts his gun away.
"You going to chock me to death?" Ron asked.
"Balaam please calm down!" Kirell cried.
"I think I just might!" Balaam hissed.
"Is this really what you what Kirell to think of you as? A big scary monster. An evil demon? I don't think so. I think we both know that you really don't want Kirell to hate you. You can gamble your life all you want. But god forbid if Kirell hates you!" Ron pointed out.
"Who the fucking hell are you!" Balaam shouted in anger, "You don't know shit! I don't care! I honest don't care!" Balaam shouted.
"Really?" Ron smiled evilly, "Kirell. Since he obviously can't shoot you with his gun so long as you don't want to kill him. Why not slap him. See if he retaliates?" Ron asked.
"I swear to god Kirell if you do it I'll punch you so hard you'll be in a coma for days!" Balaam raged.
Kirell trembled feeling scared, "I don't want to hit Balaam... but I am curious... Balaam might actually try and hurt me though. But this would confirm if he's truly such a blood thirsty monster wouldn't it?" Kirell thinks.
Kirell walked up to Balaam who glared at her hatefully.
"No... I'm not that evil. I won't do it." Kirell decided.
"Hey... it's going to be okay. I'm your partner... I'll protect you from them. I got your back. So please calm down." Kirell gently touched Balaam'a shoulder.
Balaam grabbed Kirell's hand but gently held it, "So... your not going to try it? Not even a bit curious if I'll do it?" Balaam sheepishly smiled.
"Well. Maybe a little bit I'm not evil." Kirell admitted and she sees Balaam relax, "Though I do want to know how you found out Balaam's secrete before me!" Kirell protested turning to Ron.
Charon laughed, "I know a dam good bluff when I see one. Try as Balaam might have. I knew it was all a front from the very beginning. That's why he doesn't scare me. Even after realizing I could die at any moment. I choose to stay by Balaam and help you both." Ron smiled.
"Ugh! Quit it with the good dam lies and bull shit! Argo's right. Your a fucking double agent! My gut is just screaming at me! Your not who you say you are!" Balaam protested.
"Oh??? And who I might be than?" Charon laughed amused.
"I don't fucking know!" Balaam shouted, "Just you aren't Ron! I don't even think Ron exists! Hell I don't even think your task you told us is real! I do know one thing. You know a lot more about everything than you let on! I don't even know how that's possible!" Balaam shouted.
"Very well. You forced my hand. This book here. Is the book of memories if you recall. After watching you all for the whole day the book let's me see your secretes to help aid me in the game. That's why you can't see certain pages of the book. It's for my eyes only!" Charon smiles.
"No there's more to it than that!" Balaam yelled, "I see through your lies! You won't fool me!" Balaam declared.
"I see... Than whatever will you do?" Charon asked, "Are you going to kill me in front of Kirell? With you're bare hands? If so. I won't even resist. I think I'll just enjoy the hatred and anger in her eyes as you kill me. And know happily that with my death. She will leave you." Charon smiles.
"Enough!" Balaam gets in Ron's face, "You need to leave now or I really am going to kill you!" Balaam threatened.
"Go ahead and try." Charon shrugged.
"Please stop fighting you two!" Kirell cried, "Ron it's not safe for you to be with us. You should go." Kirell cried.
"No." Charon tells them.
"I want to kill you so bad!" Balaam roared.
"Yet you just don't. Funny how that is. Does it bother you knowing I mean no harm yet some how find a way to make things more difficult for you?" Ron asked, "Are you really that desperate for Kirell's forgiveness and friendship that you'll jump hoops to get it. Perhaps I should make things a bit more interesting for you. What if I told you... That I know a way for you to be resurrected along with Kirell. But you both have separate lives?" Charon beamed.
"What do you mean by that?" Kirell asked.
"Think about it Balaam. I know your a smart boy. Surely you've noticed it by now. You feel it. I know you do," Charon tells him, "Why else do you keep bringing up how similar you both are and how you feel connected in some way. Your gut is screaming at you Balaam. You know... Exactly who I am and what I'm talking about." Charon's eyes glowed brightly.
"What is he talking about Balaam?" Kirell asked confused.
Balaam bursted into laughter, "Oh my fucking god! Oh my god dam god!" He was no longer upset, "Alright asshole. Yeah I know exactly what your saying. Guess you need to stay undercover," He looked at Kirell, "Don't worry Kirell. Let's just say. There's no one who knows me better than him." Balaam smiles.
"Ugh more secretes and just when I thought we were getting them out of the way." Kirell sighed.
"Kirell. I want you to know we can trust this guy. Mostly. I know exactly what he wants. He wants us to finish our task. He doesn't care how. He means it when he says he'd like to help everyone with their task." Balaam replied turning to Ron, "I just have one question... So... what the catch?" Balaam got to the point.
"Since you now know there's a way for you to have your own life. I want you to rethink why you should be resurrected. For you resurrection is nothing but a gamble anyways. So you treated your life as a gamble to give you purpose. I have only confirmed no guaranteed your prize is real. So what will you do with this knowledge? What will you choose to live for?" Charon asked him.
Balaam smiled, "I don't think you have to ask." He admitted.
"I pray that devotion of yours stays strong even if things get rough. It will definitely be tested." Charon smiles.
"Bring it on!" Balaam looked determined.
"I have no idea what you guys are even talking about!" Kirell sighed.
"Kirell... I've decided. I'm going to get resurrected with you no matter what!" Balaam declared.
"Does this mean you won't help me resurrection everyone else?" Kirell asked.
"I'll try. But if comes to them and you? They going down." Balaam announced.
"Are you worried about me?" Kirell blinked in shock.
"Just think of it as... me trying to prove I'm truly your friend and that I'm on your side." Balaam pointed out.
"Wow... thanks..." Kirell was so shocked.
"Anyways... let's find a place to sleep. You heading off to play pretend?" Balaam asked Ron.
"No. I know what I need to do. It won't be easy though." Charon admitted.
"Let me know what I can do to help." Balaam tells him.
"Just continue doing what you were. No need to force things. I think it's better to let things happen naturally." Charon decided.
"Understood. You can count on me!" Balaam beamed.
"Wow... I never seen Balaam so motivated. Was he really just gambling with his life to give him a reason. That's horrible. Seems like he found a proper reason. That's good." Kirell smiled as she thought about this.
They all head to bed and let a new memory come to them all as the next day would soon begin.
