Welcome back to another chapter of BotS! I hope you all have been enjoying. No, I didn't kill Renji in the last chapter. The poor guy might have if the 4th hadn't arrived when they did and what happened to Tatsuki at the end? Put what you think will happen to her in the comments. Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

Today I present the Keigo vs Soifon battle. Mostly talking so sorry to those who think Keigo would stack to Soifon. He's not that fast yet. Also for future reference, I am not allowing anyone to move faster than the speed of light. Flame all you want but I did the math and at best, with exponential growth, Soifon at 15 speed clones is only moving at just over 30000km/s and that is nowhere near the speed of light. That's being generous.

Flames on the way and another chapter to write, let me present to you our feature presentation.

Keigo and Uryu had just avoided another patrol but these were different, most of them didn't carry a zanpakuto and it unnerved them. Uryu had a theory that they were hand to hand orientated and so they ran with that idea for now.

"How much farther do we have?" Uryu didn't like the uncertain look that Keigo turned his direction and he reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "You don't know do you?" Keigo shrugged back before they both had to press against the wall as another patrol passed them by.

Homura Shizuki was leading patrol for his team. They had been patrolling the second division for over half the day so far and nothing. This was their test by their captain, Soifon. She notified them that the Ryoka had fled the 12th and were heading straight for them and if the team managed to find them then they were to call her to detain them. She would then allow them another 2 hours onto their liberty every weekend. It was a blessing and they weren't going to turn down, possibly doubling their off time.

As they patrolled, one of his team heard some noise from inside an alley and they weren't going to take any chances, After passing by pretending to not notice the noise he called in Soifon by slightly raising his spiritual pressure as a flare and he felt her move from on side of the squad to the other in close to an instant. With his job done they moved through their patrol again and hoped this wasn't some group of shinigami sloughing off their duties. He didn't pity them if they were allowing themselves to get caught so easily.

They were wary, the patrol had left but they could feel that something bad was happening. It hit them harder without any reiatsu to back it up. Maybe it was the sudden change in air pressure behind them or the killing intent. Whatever it was, their instincts screamed at them to move and had it been a second too late they would be dead. At least Keigo would have. Falling on his back he saw a shocked expression on Uryu before he fell to the ground.

Fast. He hadn't heard it, seen it or felt it. Only his instincts saved his hide. Uryu's body crumpled to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut. It seemed all too easy for the short, haori wearing girl before him. She wore a tight shihakusho with the white captains haori over top. Her raven hair with twin frills on either side with a yellow sash that contained her zanpakuto.

"Surrender Ryoka or the next strike will be fatal." She was stern and her posture combined with the tone of voice demanded respect. He felt like a rabbit under the watchful gaze of a raptor. It scared him but he had to put away his fear. This was why he was here and he had to try to get away before they were caught and were useless to save Rukia. He zipped at his fastest speed and grabbed Uryu before zooming off.

He didn't look back but continued till he landed on a rooftop. He was across the squad and he thought he was safe. That was till he felt cold steel against the nape of his neck.

"You done running Ryoka?" It was a rhetorical question and he wasn't known for his good judgement anyways and sped away at his fastest again, stopping on a rooftop he started to breath heavily. After the fight with the other captain he wasn't ready for another to show their face just yet. He didn't have the stamina to keep moving so fast. Looking up he saw the captain with her arms crossed.

"You can keep running but I'm faster and you're running out of energy." He knew it but the call out still stung. "Stop while you're ahead before I have to start trying. You made a good test." Keigo grit his teeth but didn't stand down, he set down Uryu cautiously and raised his hands in a placating manner.

"Alright, you got me." He waited for her to move and created an after image that he hoped would distract her long enough for him to get behind her and knock her out. Things didn't go according to plan though as when he chopped the back of her neck, her own after image dissipated and he was suddenly surrounded by at least 4 of her. Twisting in fear and worry he tried to find the real one.

"Persistent aren't we? You would make a good addition to my squad, consider it after your death will you?" Just how fast was she? Clearly faster than he was but damn! He twisted around as realization hit him. Uryu was being taken away by a pair of black clad shinigami. In a burst of speed he rushed towards his friend only to stop dead before he could hit the captain. She frowned at him.

"You really don't know when to quit do you?" Keigo smirked, deciding that if he couldn't save Uryu then he would at least try to get away himself. She was faster so he needed to stall till he could think of something. He wasn't the best thinker though and he wished Uryu was still there to help him out but he guessed that this would happen eventually.

"You're not the first to say that." He raised his chin and struck a pose. "I am Asano Keigo! Ladies man of Karakura and best friend of Ichigo Kurosaki." Scoffing at the first but Soifon's eyes widened before narrowing at Keigo and he couldn't stop the shiver that racked his body under her scrutinizing gaze.

"Friends with Kurosaki? You know what he did a few weeks ago? Driving back a Gillian?" Keigo nodded quickly as to avoid her ire but he didn't sulk back and Soifon had to give him props for that. He had to know his situation and she could guess what he was doing but it wouldn't work. She appeared distracted and he did what she had planned. He vanished with his after image vanishing not a second after but she saw right through the ploy and stepped right in front of him before he could go anywhere. Tapping his chest he was thrown back and into the wall of another building, crashing through and laying in the rubble for a second.

"Damn, you pack a punch." She smirked at his comment as he crawled out of the rubble and dusted himself off before vanishing in the other direction only to once again be stopped by her. "Why are you so relentless?" He dodged a strike aimed to break his arm and retaliated, neither trying very hard, more focused on the conversation than the fight.

"You are a Ryoka and should be detained. We can't allow you to roam free, not after you killed one of our captains especially." Keigo dodged another strike and she dodge his retaliation. He frowned, did the clown die?

"Are you talking about the weird scientist guy?" Soifon shook her head and Keigo was at a loss. He didn't think Tatuski or Chad would kill anyone unless they were directly in their path and this captain didn't know about their reasons here. Yoruichi? He couldn't put it past the former captain. It would be odd to kill your own.

"We didn't kill anyone then." Soifon palm struck him in the chest and he had the wind knocked out of him as he slammed into a wall and slid down. His vision blurred as Soifon walked up to him before hoisting him onto her shoulder.

"I will be the judge of that." She then vanished in a flicker of shunpo with nothing but the subtle cracks and a hole in a building to show that there was a fight there at all.
