I don't want to hurt the UsuiXMisaki fans out there, but I want to try and see if Misaki Ayuzawa is capable to be a StarForce member, and have Tendou in Usui's place.
I don't own Megaman nor Maid-Sama except the transformation, new characters, and new Battle Cards.
This chapter is slightly based on the manga in chapter 41 of Kaichou wa Maid-Sama.
Chapter 23: First Date Part 2 / Blaze Heatnix
10am
Ayuzawa House
Misaki finished her breakfast and was in her room, trying to figure out what to wear. Scanning through different clothes, she was unable to make her selection.
30 minutes later
She realized she was running out of time, but gave up and decided to go for those.
Suzuna was watching TV and saw her older sister in the hallway. Seeing her sister in an unusual outfit, she had a confused look on her face.
"Onee-chan, what is with that appearance?" she asked blankly.
Misaki peeked her head through the door. "EH! ? Is... is it weird somehow! ?"
"It's not that it's weird... "
"Should... should I change into another outfit? Into my usual clothing... ?" she asked nervously.
Suzuna stood up and took her sister's right hand. "Onee-chan, come to the bathroom for a while."
"Eh... what, what is it! ?"
"Ah, Onee-chan, do you have any necklace? I can only borrow your hairpins... "
"Wait... Suzuna, there's no more time already!"
"We'll make it, we'll make it."
11:00am
After being held up by her younger sister, Misaki rushed her way to Echo Ridge Park and successfully made it right on time. She panted heavily and looked around, unable to find Tendou anywhere. Panting in exhaustion, she decided to sit on the bench and wait for him.
30 minutes later
Misaki frowned with her arms crossed and started to lose her patience. Suddenly, a person riding a motorcycle stopped in front of her. The black-haired girl widened her eyes in surprise to see a motorcycle design that resembled Acid Ace's appearance back at the Miyabigaoka High during the Footman Audition. She turned to the rider and recognized the outfits.
The rider reached both hands to the dark blue helmet and took it off his head, revealing none other than Tendou.
"Yo." he simply greeted her.
"YOU'RE LATE! !" The angry Misaki pointed her right index finger directly at him.
"Sorry, sorry, I got held up!" he lied.
"Look, Tendou, if you really wanted to ask me out like this, then don't be late!" she told him, standing beside him.
"S-Sure... I'll keep that in mind." Tendou chuckled nervously.
What really happened was...
*Flashback*
40 minutes ago.
"I'm leaving, Kaa-san." Tendou called her his mother, grabbing his black jacket.
"Okay, sweetie!"
"Don't forget tonight's plan, all right?" he added, heading to the front door.
"You got it!"
Tendou left the house and was on his way to Echo Ridge Park. He was looking forward to this day. Suddenly, he heard a loud screeching sound nearby.
He saw a crazy driver speeding his car, drifting the road on both sides.
"Seriously, at a time like this?" he groaned, shaking his head in disappointment.
The driver continued to drive like a madman with a maniacal laugh. "OUTTA MY WAY, LOSERS! ! DAHAHAHAHAHA! !" he made a quick turn and caused some cars to crash into each other. "HOW YA LIKE THEM APPLES! ? DAHAHAHAHAHA! !"
A figure landed in front of the vehicle and landed a fierce punch on the hood, breaking it and the engine in the process. The car halted by force and lifted in the air before crashing on the ground.
The driver was furious and stepped out of his car. "HEY, WHAT'S DA BIG IDEA, YOU-" he immediately paused and sweated heavily at the unexpected person in front of him. His legs trembled and dropped to the ground in fright. "M-M-M-M-M-MEGAMAN! ?"
The dark blue-armored Megaman approached the man and grabbed his shirt, forcibly lifting the latter close to him. "You've got some nerve being noisy at this time! If you have the energy making this clamant again, I will rip out your heart out and shove it down your throat! You understand me! ?" he threatened him in a harsh tone.
"Y-Y-Y-Y-YES, M-MEGAMAN! ! I-I-I PROMISE! !"
Megaman (Tendou) threw him to the ground and flew in the air until he hid in the alley. Cancelling his transformation, he looked at the time on his Hunter-VG and realized he was very late.
"Oh crap! I wasted too much time on that stupid driver! Ughh, I can't fly my way there! It'll be a big problem to make a scene in my Megaman form!" the spiky brown-haired sighed and held out his Hunter-VG, "Batoru Kaado (Battle Card)! Ashiddo Saikuru (Acid Cycle)!" he called out as a bright light shined from the screen and created a motorcycle that resembled Acid in front of him.
(A/N: Think of Acid Cycle in Kamen Rider's motorcycle style.)
Putting his device in his pocket, he mounted on the motorcycle and wore the dark blue helmet. He held the handlebars and drove his way to Echo Ridge Park.
*Flashback ended*
"Misaki, you're not mad at me for being late, are you?" Tendou asked.
The frowning Misaki lowered her head a bit and placed her hands on her hips. "Ha, what are you talking about? I was only waiting for an irresponsible guy for thirty minutes... " she replied before giving him an angry yell with her enlarged head, "OF COURSE I'M NOT ANGRY! ! NOT AT ALL! !"
Tendou quickly shut his ears with his index fingers. "Well, she's angry all right... " he thought before removing his fingers. "I'll make it up to you, okay?"
The black-haired huffed with her arms crossed, "You better."
"One more thing, Misaki... What's with the outfit?" he asked in confusion, scanning her clothes.
She wore a dark pink one-piece dress, a bright pink jacket with a hoodie, black knee-socks, pink flat shoes, and a pink handbag with purple roses on her right shoulder. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail.
Misaki frowned and didn't expect he was the second person to question her outfit. "You're slow!" she slapped the air with her right hand (One Piece style) as her face turned red, "I was held up by Suzuna... I thought I was gonna be late, but turned out you were late!" she pointed, "Anyways, it's my present... ! Everyone from the café gave this to me last night. I just thought of wearing it since everyone put a lot of effort in this for me... " she answered, feeling a bit embarrassed. "The clothes, the shoes, the bag, all of it... most likely everyone gathered enough money together to buy all of them... Does... does it look weird?" she asked, eyeing at him, who had a confused look on his face.
(A/N: Her clothes and hair are based on chapter 41 in the manga, and the full coloring was from ending 2 scene.)
The dark pink one-piece dress - given by Satsuki. The bright pink mods jacket with a hoodie - given by Erika. The pink handbag with purple roses - given by Honoka. Black knee-socks and pink flat shoes - given by Subaru.
Blinking twice, Tendou could only come up with three simple words. "Too much pink."
"Do you have a problem with that! ?" she slapped the air again, blushing in embarrassment. "I personally even think that everything is cute!"
"Nonononononono! Forget what I just said!" Tendou waved his hands in defense. Looking at her clothes, they reminded of his mother when she was a preteen and teenager, who also wore too many pink clothes when he time-traveled by using DenLiner. Truthfully, he didn't expect to see her this pretty in that outfit. He opened the cover from the back of Acid Cycle and took out a red helmet. "Here, get on." he handed to her as Misaki caught it.
"Wait a minute! You can drive a motorcycle! ?" she questioned in realization.
"Now who's slow?" he countered.
Misaki huffed and started to find him beyond suspicious. First, he knew how to drive a snowmobile, and now a motorcycle. What's next, an airplane?
She wore the helmet and mounted on the motorcycle behind him before wrapping her arms around his waist. Wearing his helmet, Tendou held the handlebars and drove his way to celebrate her birthday.
Thankfully, his Acid Cycle didn't have a loud engine - which he designed it.
Ayuzawa House
"Do you think Misaki is okay with Tendou... on her birthday?" Minako asked her second daughter.
"Who knows, Okaa-san. Maybe they might end up having a birthday party at his house." the stoic Suzuna replied, looking through a magazine to win her next reward.
Suddenly, a doorbell was heard.
Minako stood up and proceeded to the front door. She opened and saw a group of people she had never seen before.
"Hi there, can I help you?"
As Tendou continued driving his Acid Cycle, Misaki had no idea where he was taking her on her birthday. She was surprised to see his motorcycle barely make a loud engine sound. She never liked them, but this one was exceptional.
"Tendou, do you know where you are going! ?" she asked loudly.
"You don't have to speak that loud." His voice was heard through the inside of her helmet.
Misaki gaped in surprise. "What the! ? How is it-" she was about to remove her arms, but Tendou interrupted her.
"Don't you let go of your arms, or you'll fall." he warned her as she quickly wrapped her arms back around him. "These helmets are high tech, created by WAZA. We can talk like this instead of taking our helmets off." he explained. "Neat, huh?"
"I didn't know WAZA have that kind of technology, other than the training room."
"I guess Miss Tia didn't show you around much."
"Well, if it weren't for that cat monster back at WAZA, I would've explored more! So anyway, where are you taking me?" Misaki asked.
"It's best you see it yourself." he replied.
15 minutes later
They arrived at the destination.
Tendou slowed down the speed and stopped at the parking lot. "All right, we're here." he notified her.
Misaki removed her arms from him and took the helmet off her head. She exhaled for fresh air and widened her eyes at the sight with a surprised gasp.
It was a very tall and wide building that had many stores with high technology she had never seen before. There was also a Ferris wheel on the inside.
"Wh-What is this place?" she asked in surprise.
Tendou took off his dark blue helmet and answered her, "Misaki, welcome to Spica Mall."
The two walked beside each other and entered Spica Mall. Misaki was incredibly astonished to see such a place exist in this city. She hadn't spoken a single word for a while.
Tendou was the first to break the silence, "So~ where should we start?"
"Well... " Before she could answer, a loud growling sound was heard from their stomachs. The two blushed in embarrassment. "How about lunch?" she suggested sheepishly.
"I agree."
In the food court
Tendou and Misaki took their seats with two chicken sandwiches and french fries on the table.
"So Misaki, what do you think of this place?" he asked, munching on his sandwich.
"Well, I don't know how to describe it. Spica Mall seems very colorful and unique." Suddenly, Misaki shot her head up, "Hang on, I feel like I've been here before, but I don't remember when." she said thoughtfully, trying to remember from her memory bank.
"You've been here before?" Tendou repeated in a bit of confusion.
"Hmmmmm~ " Misaki tried to remember, but failed and gave up. "Must be my imagination." she took one of the fries and munched on it. "What about you, Tendou? You've been here, too?" she asked.
"Not so much. I go to Spica Mall once in a while. Spica Mall has been around for 27 years. This is where Eos invited Tou-san."
"Eos?" the black-haired girl blinked in confusion with a question mark on her head, "Who's Eos?"
"Oh, sorry. That's Ace's real name. His full name is A.C. Eos. He prefers to be called "Ace", just to make it easier."
"That's really something."
"And this is where Ace first-" Tendou paused in realization, nearly said something he shouldn't have.
"Ace first what?"
The spiky-haired teenager made a quick recovery and finished his sentence. "Where Ace first met Megaman, the original Megaman!"
"Really! ? That's quite a history!" Misaki widened her eyes in surprise.
"It is! Hehehe... Oh man, I almost spilled the bean where Ace knew Tou-san's identity." he thought nervously and heard her giggle. "What's so funny?"
"Well, ever since you transferred to Seika High, Megaman showed up after that. The Megaman with wings that is. You know, you're not just Megaman's fanboy after all." she noted.
"Ehh?"
"You must be a hardcore fanboy!" she claimed.
"Wh-What do you mean by that?" Tendou asked, didn't want to know where this was going.
"Well, since Megaman is your hero, you've been imitating his fighting skills for who knows how long. You worked at WAZA so you can train hard and be like him. No wonder you're so brave!" Misaki explained and giggled again.
"Oh man, I thought she was gonna say I'm Megaman in broad daylight." Tendou sweatdropped.
"But it's strange... monsters have been showing up at Seika High for some strange reason. Oh, Megaman saved me that night when you first transferred and found out about my part-time job on the same day." Misaki leaned forward and finished in a whisper, "I think those monsters are hunting me because I have Megaman's scent when I first met him." Tendou deadpanned with a blank look on his face. He wanted to correct her, but decided not to. Misaki retrieved herself and sat on the chair with a relaxing sigh. "That felt much better! I'm glad I got it off my chest! There's no way I can say this to Sakura and Shizuko." she took a bite of her chicken sandwich. "They might think I'm crazy or something. But since you know about Megaman the most, you're the only one I can share with."
"I don't think it's crazy at all."
The two finished their lunch and continued strolling Spica Mall, and their first stop was the arcade store.
Misaki scanned the arcade, seeing so many high tech gaming machines.
"I've never been to an arcade before."
"You're going to love this one." Tendou led her to a game that had two capsules and a large oval shaped glass.
The large oval-shaped glass showed a gameplay trailer of the Megaman fighting robotic monsters and another Megaman in different colors.
"There's a game about Megaman?" Misaki asked in surprise.
"Yep, but only the original from 23 years ago. It's a virtual game where you fight as Megaman." Tendou answered, "Wanna try it out? I'm sure your aikido might work on these guys."
"Hey, if it's a challenge, I won't back down!" Misaki declared with a smirk.
Tendou and Misaki entered the capsules and wore the wireless simulator gloves on their hands. Once they wore the helmets, the virtual system turned on automatically.
Misaki opened her eyes and looked around, seeing the battlefield was a mountain. "Whoa! This feels so real!" she exclaimed, then noticed her arms had armor. "Wait a minute... am I?" she walked to the nearest lake and inspected her own reflection. "No way!" Widening her eyes in astonishment, her avatar was Megaman - except she didn't have a mask underneath the red lens, spiky hair on the helmet, and wings on the back.
Instead of blue armor, it was red.
"What do you think?" a voice asked.
Misaki turned and saw a blue armored Megaman was none other than Tendou. "I don't know what to say."
Tendou chuckled at her reaction. "Don't worry, you'll-LOOK OUT!" he instantly jumped forward and brought them to the lake with a splash as a loud explosion occurred.
"What was that! ?" Misaki questioned loudly, standing up to her feet.
"I forgot the game has started!" Tendou replied and stood up, "Over there!"
Misaki turned to where he was pointing at. Up ahead, there was a large number of Jammers with Cannons on their right arms.
"Don't they look like those Noise Jammers from the real world?" she questioned.
"Kinda. If you wanna stay alive, fight them!" the blue armored Tendou dashed forward.
"Okay!" the red armored Misaki followed.
The audience smiled in excitement at the virtual screen, seeing two teenagers fighting the horde of Jammers with fierce strength.
"WHOA! !"
"Look at those two!"
"They fight so good!"
"Who are those kids! ?"
Tendou fought the Jammers with his fists and kicks, and Misaki used her aikido on them. Using their fighting skills, the Jammers vanished into data in defeat.
One of the Jammers leaped in the air and pounced Misaki on the ground.
"Aaaahhh!" she cried and tried to remove her enemy, but the Jammer punched her continuously. Her health bar was depleting bit by bit.
"Hiya!" Tendou leaped in the air and landed a kick on the Jammer's back as it fell forward. "Misaki, you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine, but my health bar-"
Suddenly, two large missiles were heard from afar. The blue-armored Tendou didn't have time to dodge, but quickly activated a barrier as an explosion occurred. The smoke cleared away as the red-armored Misaki stood up.
"What was that?"
Tendou deactivated the shield and pointed at the sky, "Over there!"
It was a giant monster only in a shape of a large head. It had a large mouth with eight large fangs and two large orange horns on its head.
"What is that thing! ?" Misaki asked, feeling frightful.
"It's the final boss, Andromeda!" Tendou answered, forming his fighting stance.
"That's the final boss! ? IT'S WAY TOO BIG! !" Misaki shouted in disbelief.
The head formed Andromeda shined its eyes and began to transform mechanically into its battle form.
Misaki widened her eyes to see its new form. It was more humanoid, robotic form, with orange eyes. It had a green, glassy sphere located under its chest and a large spike in place of legs. Its eight large fangs turned into large fingers.
The battled formed Andromeda growled mechanically and held out its large hands, firing two large green streams of lasers at them.
Tendou was about to activate his energy shield, but realized he had no energy left as he sighed.
"Oh well." he shrugged his shoulders.
"Huh?" Misaki turned to him in confusion.
"We lost."
The two large green lasers collided on them with a massive explosion.
GAME OVER!
Tendou was the first to walk out of the capsule and stretched his arms in the air.
Misaki came out slowly with a blank look on her face. "I don't have the energy to say a word." she said.
Tendou wanted to laugh, but didn't want to. "Come on, I'll take you for a ride." He held her right hand with his left, taking her out of the arcade.
The spiky brown-haired led her to a Ferris wheel entrance. Tendou paid the price as they waited in line until it was their turn. The man in a suit opened the door of the cart for them as the two teenagers stepped into the cart and sat across from each other before the door closed. Soon, the cart began to rise up.
Misaki turned to the window from her side. "Wow! The view is nice!" she said in amazement, placing her pink handbag on her laps. She turned and was about to ask Tendou something, but noticed a scary look on his face. She wondered why he was making that face.
Tendou locked his sight at the view from his side. He stared at one of the stores and started to remember that crucial battle seven years ago.
The ten year old Megaman (Tendou) was heavily injured on the ground in a sitting position, didn't have the energy to fight back.
The large red-and-white robot approached him with heavy stomps and raised its right fist, shining its red eyes.
"Monsutaa (Monster) must be terminated!" it shouted and struck its right fist at him.
"Tendou... Tendou!" Misaki tried calling him several times. The spiky brown-haired snapped himself from his memory back and turned to her.
"Wh-Wha... ?"
"You okay?" the black-haired girl asked worriedly, "You spaced out."
"Y-Yeah, I'm okay." he replied. He couldn't believe he actually remembered that terrible memory.
"Say, Tendou, back at the trip, what was it that you have to tell me?" she asked.
Tendou managed to recover and met her brown eyes. This could be the perfect time to tell her as his right hand reached into his pocket, holding his dark blue Hunter-VG.
It was now or never!
"Misaki, what I really wanted to tell you was-"
Suddenly, a loud explosion was heard on one of the empty Ferris wheel carts.
*KA-BOOM! !*
The two were startled, wondering what caused the explosion. They scanned the view and widened their eyes at the culprit. It was a humanoid monster with red wings that looked like a phoenix, flying in the air.
"COME ON, COME ON OUT! ! WHEREVER YOU ARE, MEGAMAN! !" the humanoid phoenix ignited flames on his forearms, collar, shoulders, and the back of his head. "MAGUMA SHOTTO (MAGMA SHOT)! !" He spat out a fireball made out of magma at another empty cart with a loud explosion.
*KA-BOOM! !*
"AAAAAAHHHHH! !" Misaki shrieked in fright, ducking her head down with her eyes shut. She couldn't believe this was happening on her birthday.
Tendou stood up and broke the door with a hard kick. He looked around in haste and saw a giant sliding bounce house underneath them. Smiling in relief, he quickly carried Misaki in a bridal style.
"T-Tendou, what are you doing! ?" she demanded with a blush.
"I'm gonna jump on that bounce house!" he retorted.
"Baka, are you crazy! ? You won't make it there!"
"Misaki!" he raised his voice, "Do you trust me! ?" he asked sternly, staring deeply into her brown eyes.
The black-haired girl examined his green eyes for a moment before another explosion was heard. She turned at the humanoid phoenix monster's attack before facing back at him. She quickly made her answer as she wrapped her arms around his neck with her pink handbag on her right shoulder.
"I trust you!"
Tendou responded with a nod and held her tightly, refusing to let her go. "Hia wi goo (Here we go)!" He jumped off the cart.
The flying humanoid phoenix spat out a fireball at their cart and caused a loud explosion behind them in the process.
*KA-BOOM! !*
Falling from the high height, Misaki shut her eyes and prayed for their safety, holding his black jacket as tight as she could.
Tendou landed on the bounce house successfully and slid his way down until his feet touched the ground. He gently placed her feet on the ground.
"You okay, Misaki?" he asked.
The black-haired girl slowly removed her arms from him and felt her legs wobble from the fall. "I-I'm okay... just a little scared."
They shot their heads and saw a large number of people running towards them, screaming in fright.
"Come on!" The spiky brown-haired grabbed her left hand with his right and fled from the incoming people.
"MAGUMA WEEBO (MAGMA WAVE)! !" The humanoid phoenix flapped his wings and sent out fiery crescent slashes at the axle of the Ferris wheel.
Tendou stopped in front of the bathroom and removed her hand. "Misaki, I want you to stay and hide, okay! ?" he requested.
"What about you! ?"
"I'll draw that monster's attention away! Just stay put until I return!" he explained before quickly running off.
"Tendou... " Misaki had a worried look on her face and prayed for his safety. Suddenly, she heard someone crying nearby. "Oh no!" she dashed and followed the voice.
Tendou made it to the back door of Spica Mall and took out his dark blue Hunter-VG from his pocket. He placed it at the center of his waist as it shot out silver belt strap around him.
"Henshin!" he called out as his body was consumed by a ball of light.
Misaki stopped and found the source of the crying. It was a little girl who got left behind. She approached the crying girl and knelt down with her arms around the latter.
"It's okay! I'm here to help you!" she soothed her crying in a gentle tone and carried the little girl in her arms. "Don't worry, I'll take you to the Lost and Found!" she quickly made her way to find that room, but an explosion occurred in front of her. "AAAAAHHHHH! !" she shrieked and bounced back from the strong blow. She landed on the ground as her cellphone slipped off her pocket, dropping on the ground further away. "My cellphone!" Carrying the little girl in her arms, she ran forward to retrieve it.
Unfortunately, a pair of feet-like talons landed on the ground with a loud thud, crushing her cellphone with the left foot.
"No!" she gasped in shock, seeing her only communication device was destroyed by that monster's landing.
"Oops, my landing slipped." the humanoid phoenix said sarcastically and walked forward.
Misaki backed away slowly, trying to protect the scared little girl from the phoenix monster.
"Who are you! ?"
"The name's Blaze Heatnix. I came here to hunt Megaman, but I didn't expect a human girl like you have his scent."
(Blaze Heatnix was from Megaman X6.)
"I still have Megaman's scent! ?" she questioned herself in disbelief, "S-Stay away!"
"Heeheeheehee! No can do. My order is-Huh?" Blaze Heatnix paused, noticing something at the sky.
A ball of light was in the air and tackled Blaze Heatnix, knocking him away as he recovered by taking his flight in the air.
"Grrrr!" Blaze Heatnix growled at the interrupter.
The ball of light landed in front of Misaki as the black-haired girl gasped, then smiled brightly at her certain savior. The light faded and revealed Megaman, landing on his left knee as he stood up.
His armors were dark blue. He had wings of Cygnus Noise form. His helmet had no spiky hair. His lens was red, and a silver mask below it. His streamlines were green.
"Megaman, thank goodness you're here!" she said in relief.
Megaman (Tendou) turned to her in confusion. "Why didn't she hide?" he questioned inwardly, then saw a little girl in her arms. "Oh, that's why. Quick, get out of here!" he told her.
"Okay!" Misaki nodded and complied.
Megaman (Tendou) faced his flying humanoid phoenix in a fighting stance and jumped up high, taking the battle in the air.
Misaki continued to run, but stopped in her track. Looking back at her hero fighting in the air, she wanted to go back and support him.
"Mika!" a woman's voice was heard. The black-haired girl turned and saw a woman nearby, who was calling a name. "Mika!" the woman called again.
"Mama!" the little girl, in Misaki's arms, called happily.
The woman turned and widened her eyes, seeing her daughter rescued by a teenage girl.
"Your mom?" Misaki asked as the little girl nodded.
The woman smiled in relief and ran toward them until she stopped in front of the rescuer. "Mika!"
"Mama!"
Misaki smiled and handed the child to the mother.
"Thank you so much for finding my daughter!" the mother bowed to the black-haired teenager.
"You're most welcome!" Misaki returned the bow as the mother fled the area with her daughter in her arms. A loud crash was heard at the food court. "Megaman!" she dashed her way to cheer him on.
"Aaaaahhh!" Megaman (Tendou) crash landed on several tables and chairs and got back up on his feet.
Blaze Heatnix continued to fly in the air, "MAGUMA SHOTTO (MAGMA SHOT)! !" he spat several fireballs made out of magma at his enemy.
The dark blue armored Megaman grabbed two tables and used them as shields. Several fireballs hit the tables and broke them into pieces before the rest made their hit on him. "Gaaaaahhhh!" he stumbled backward as more hit his torso with several explosions.
Misaki found the food court and hid the corner. "Megaman... ganbatte."
"RAAAAAWWWWWWWHHHHHH! ! !" Blaze Heatnix clenched his fist and roared loudly, engulfing his body and wings with an intense flame. On cue, the flame took its shape and formed a large body of a phoenix.
The black-haired girl gasped at that humanoid phoenix monster in surprise, seeing a flaming body of a large phoenix. "No way, that monster can do that! ?"
"GODDO BAADO (GOD BIRD)! ! !" Blaze Heatnix flitted toward at a quick speed with a phoenix's roar.
Megaman (Tendou) recovered from the fireballs and widened his eyes, realizing he was too late to dodge. "AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH! !" The large flaming phoenix fiercely rammed into the dark blue-armored Megaman and sent him flying to the clothing store, shattering the glass window in the process.
Misaki widened her eyes with a loud gasp, "Megaman!"
The large flaming phoenix died out as Blaze Heatnix flapped his wings forward, "MAGUMA WEEBO (MAGMA WAVE)! !" he sent out fiery crescent slashes at the clothing store and set it ablaze with a loud explosion.
*BOOM! !* *KA-BOOM! !*
"M-Megaman... no... " Misaki dropped to her knees, gasping in horror.
Blaze Heatnix landed on the floor and blurted out a victorous laugh. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! ! The mighty Megaman has been defeated!" he claimed triumphantly.
"Th-This can't be... " Misaki lowered her head as tears started to form in her eyes. She refused to accept this. She didn't want to see her hero perished on her birthday.
The humanoid phoenix continued laughing, then stopped and felt a strong wind all of a sudden. "What the? What's with his wind?" he questioned.
Misaki recognized this familiar strong wind, and it was stronger than before. She slowly raised her head, eyeing at the burning clothing store.
The flame in the store was blown away as Megaman (Tendou) simply walked forward until he was outside of the entrance.
Blaze Heatnix widened his eyes in shock at his enemy. "I-Impossible! How are you still alive! ?" he questioned in disbelief.
Ignoring that, Megaman (Tendou) clenched his fists and crossed his arms into an X, lowering them. On cue, his armor radiated bright red. Two spiritual EM Wave beings appeared by his sides: they were TerraCondor and Corvus. They entered his body and prepared for his Finalize Combo.
"TERRA! CORVUS!" his Hunter-VG alarmed.
The flame in the clothing store moved towards dark blue armored Megaman and consumed him by a ball of flame in a spiral, creating his ultimate form.
FINARAIZU KONBO (FINALIZE COMBO)!
TERVUS!
The ball of flame vanished and revealed his newest transformation. His armor turned red with black lining. His Cygnus Noise wings extended into TerraCondor's in a normal size - except they didn't have the wing lasers part. His forearms were black with three red feathery armors. His helmet turned into TerraCondor's head. His red lens turned into orange. His silver mask, upper arms, and thighs turned black. His shoulder pads turned into wings-like. His streamlines were now red.
"Grrrr! YOU TRYING TO COPYCAT ME! ?" Blaze Heatnix accused and took his flight in the air. "MAGUMA SHOTTO (MAGMA SHOT)! !" he spat several fireballs at him.
Tervus Megaman (Tendou) raised his left arm and formed a large hexagon-shaped shield, blocking the fireballs with small explosions. As the smoke faded, he spread his TerraCondor wings with rainbow light and ascended in the air.
"Wow!" Misaki exclaimed in astonishment with her widened eyes. She didn't expect to see Megaman's newest form was so majestic.
Crimson red Noise appeared on Tervus Megaman (Tendou)'s body and formed a body of a phoenix.
"YOU LOUSY IMITATOR! !" Blaze Heatnix clenched his fists and engulfed his body with intense flame, forming a large body of a phoenix. "GODDO BAADO (GOD BIRD)! !" he flitted toward at a quick speed with a phoenix's roar.
"Fenikkusu Purominensu (Phoenix Prominence)!" Tervus Megaman (Tendou) flew forward as the two collided their attacks in the air. They clashed their phoenix forms one after another with a loud boom.
Misaki gasped in amazement, seeing her hero making a comeback with his crimson phoenix form. Despite the size difference, she had no idea Megaman had that kind of transformation.
After another fierce clash in the air, Tervus Megaman (Tendou) made a turn and extracted lengthy red blades on his forearms, crossing his arms in an X.
Blaze Heatnix made his turn and prepared to strike his enemy with everything he had. "END OF THE LINE, MEGAMAN! !" he declared.
The two made their final clash and passed through each other. On cue, two red wings were sliced and exploded.
It was Blaze Heatnix's!
The humanoid phoenix's flaming phoenix faded and fell to the ground. "Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh!" he cried, and crash landed with a loud thud.
Retracting his lengthy red blades, Tervus Megaman (Tendou) turned as his TerraCondor's wings and forearms glowed bright red light.
NOIZU FOOSU BIGGU BAN (NOISE FORCE BIG BANG)!
ETAANARU HEBUNZU FUREA (ETERNAL HEAVEN'S FLARE)!
Preparing for his finishing move, his wings and forearms fired large streams of bright rainbow lasers at the wingless humanoid phoenix.
Blaze Heatnix stood back up and stumbled as the rainbow lasers collided on him. "AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH! !" Unable to retaliate, he cried in agony and exploded in defeat.
*BOOM! !* *KA-BOOM! !*
"Wow!" Misaki smiled at her hero's outstanding victory.
The axle of the Ferris wheel became unstable and exploded due to Blaze Heatnix's Magma Wave earlier. Misaki turned to the sudden explosion and gasped in fright. The Ferris wheel dropped to the ground with a loud crash and rolled forward in her direction. Inside several carts, people screamed in fright and panicked.
The black-haired girl fled for her life, but tripped and fell on the ground with a cry. She turned and saw the rolling Ferris wheel was coming closer and closer.
"Misaki!" Tervus Megaman (Tendou) flitted to the Ferris wheel at a quick speed and caught the hanger. "UGH! !" He tried to slow it down, but the enormous rolling wheel pushed him back.
Misaki grabbed her pink handbag and managed to jump out of the way before the Ferris wheel got her. She widened her eyes and saw her savior was heading straight to the wall.
"MEGAMAN! !"
"Tomare... " Tervus Megaman (Tendou) pleaded, using more strength to decelerate the Ferris wheel. "TOMARE (STOP)! !" he roared as his TerraCondor wings shined a rainbow light, brighter than before. He shoved forward and used all his strength to slow it down.
On cue, the Ferris wheel was successfully halted with a loud screeching sound.
Tervus Megaman (Tendou)'s back was only a few inches left before he was crushed as he panted in relief. He froze one of the carts against the wall with his Ice Cannon and rescued the people inside the locked carts. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
It was already sunset.
Misaki stood in front of her hero and thanked him, bowing her head down. "Arigato (Thank you) for saving me again."
"No problem. It's what I do. You take care and enjoy your birthday." Tervis Megaman (Tendou) replied and flew in the air.
The black-haired girl smiled at her savior, then noticed something odd. "Wait, my birthday? How does he know today's my birthday?" she questioned in confusion.
"Misaki!" She turned to see Tendou approaching her from behind. The spiky brown-haired stopped and panted in front of her in an act. "Misaki... are you okay? Where were you?" he asked, pretending he didn't know.
"Sorry, Tendou, I found a lost little girl, and brought her back to her mom." Misaki explained apologetically.
"Oh, okay." he simply replied.
"Huh? You're not mad?" the black-haired questioned in confusion, didn't expect to see his reaction like that.
"If that little girl is okay, then she's okay." Tendou grabbed her left hand with his right, "Come on, let's go." he led her to the exit.
"Go? Go where?" Misaki asked in confusion again.
"There's just one place left I wanted to take you." he answered.
Making their way to the parking lot, the two mounted on Acid Cycle and wore their helmets.
"Tendou, where are we going at this time?" Misaki asked.
"I rather show you instead. Make sure you hold on tight."
"Okay." Misaki leaned forward and firmly wrapped her arms around him.
Feeling her arms around his waist, Tendou nearly hissed from the heavy pain, but didn't want her to worry. He held the handlebars and drove forward.
Misaki stared at Tendou for a moment and realized something. She had been more interactive with Tendou than Megaman. She started to realize another piece was missing. She didn't know how he spent his free time, other than working at Maid Latte as dishwashers with Draco.
Most importantly, she didn't know much about him at all.
"Tendou, just who are you?"
Later
Tendou hit the brake on his Acid Cycle and took his dark blue helmet off. Misaki removed her arms and took the red helmet off. She turned and recognized that familiar building, blinking twice.
"Why are we at WAZA HQ?" she asked in confusion, getting off the motorcycle.
"You'll see."
Misaki stared at WAZA HQ and wondered what why he brought her here. Getting off the motorcycle, Tendou quickly pressed the buttons and made it vanish into data. He sighed in relief before she caught him suspiciously.
The spiky brown-haired grabbed her hand and led her to the entrance. Misaki didn't understand but followed him.
The two entered the building and noticed it was dark and no one was around.
"Is it closed?" she questioned, "Tendou, are you sure there's-" Unable to finish, the light was turned on as several confetti crackers popped in the air, startling the black-haired girl.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISAKI! ! !" everyone announced happily.
Misaki gaped in surprise at the sight and blinked several times.
She wasn't expecting this.
His family and Draco were there. Ace, Tia, Jack, and Dan.
Looking around, she didn't expect to see her mother and younger sister here too.
"Mama? Suzuna? Wh-What's going on?" she asked in confusion.
"Onee-san looks surprised." Suzuna commented.
Her mother walked toward her and stood beside her. "Tendou's family paid us a visit this afternoon. They invited us to come here and celebrate your birthday." Minako explained, "Truthfully, we haven't celebrated your birthday in a long time."
Misaki gasped and turned to him. "Tendou, you... this is for me! ?"
Tendou shyly looked away with a small blush. "Y-Yeah. I wanna make this birthday special... with everyone... and your family... so we can celebrate altogether." he answered nervously.
Misaki didn't expect to hear that from him. She hadn't had her birthday with her family in several years. She felt appreciated and wrapped her arms around him in a tight a hug with a happy smile.
"Tendou, arigato (thank you)!"
Sonia and Draco walked in with a large tray in their hands and placed it on the table. It was a large rectangular-sized vanilla white cake with blue frostings and seventeen candles.
"Come on, you two! Let's celebrate for the birthday girl!" Ace announced cheerfully.
Misaki blew the candles and earned a cheerful applause from everyone.
Everyone had a slice of vanilla cake on their respective plates as Tendou handed one to Misaki.
"For you." Draco handed two plates of sliced cake for Minako and Suzuna in a polite manner.
"Arigato (Thank you), Draco." Minako and Suzuna thanked the cosplaying dragon and took the plates in their hands.
Tendou ate his slice of cake quietly and watched Misaki receiving presents from Ace and Tia. Smiling to himself, he was glad he asked her out on her birthday.
Dan joined his partner and sat next to him with a slice of vanilla cake on his plate. "So~ Tendou, how was your first date?" he asked slyly.
"Scorched." the spiky brown-haired simply answered.
The black-haired widened his eyes in disbelief at his reply. "You didn't go hot and heavy with her, did you?"
"No, Dan! A Repliforce showed up and attacked us out of nowhere." Tendou corrected him, "That enemy likes to set things on fire."
"Geez. I didn't know. You could at least call me, and I'll back you up."
"I'm fine, Dan, really. You have your own mission, and I have mine."
"Aw man! I wanna eat that cake! Dan, let me out for a bit!" a voice pleaded.
Dan took out his silver Hunter-VG and replied to his EM Wave being partner. "You'll get your cake soon, Gunner. I can't let you out right now and freaked the girls out."
"Aaahhhh! How long will that take! ?"
Tendou stood up from his seat. "I'll be right back. I've got something to do." he said and walked off.
Misaki opened her two presents from Ace and Tia and widened her eyes at the gifts. She got an alarm clock of Megaman's head from Tia, and a limit edition of Megaman action figure from Ace. She loved the presents and gave the two adults a hug. She saw Tendou in the hallway, who gestured his right hand to come over. Breaking the hug, she placed her gifts on the table and proceeded to the hallway.
Tendou waited patiently for her and heard footsteps as he turned around.
"What is it, Tendou?" the black-haired girl asked.
He felt a bit nervous and scratched his face right his left index finger. "I-I have something for you."
"Something for me?" she felt a bit surprised, didn't expect he would give her a present.
Tendou reached his right hand inside his black jacket pocket and took out a small white box with red ribbon on it.
"Here... Happy Birthday, Misaki." he said, handing it to her as she took it.
"W-What is it?" the black-haired asked curiously, yet happily.
"Open it and see."
Misaki did as she was told, and opened her birthday present. "N-No way... this is... " she gasped, recognizing the item in the box.
It was a device-like PSP with a shooting star symbol, and it looked very identical to Megaman's on his belt - except the color was blue.
"It's a Hunter-VG." Tendou said with a small smile.
"Hunter-VG? That's what it's called?" Misaki questioned as the latter nodded.
"Yep. You can use it as a cellphone, scanner, camera, video record, check the weather status, and more." Tendou answered.
Misaki stared the device in the box, feeling speechless. "Tendou... I... I don't know what to say."
Tendou remembered her cellphone was crushed by Blaze Heatnix when he transformed. He felt sorry for her, but decided to give her a new one by using his money.
"Well, you can start by adding some people you know in the contact list. I can teach you the rest some other times."
"What about my own number? Will it be different?" she asked.
"If you want your number to be the same, I can help you with that. Oh, and the battery is unlimited."
"Really! ? So you can't recharge it?" she widened her eyes in surprise.
"There's no need for that. You see-"
"WILL YOU TWO JUST KISS ALREADY! ?"
Startling by a sudden voice, the two teenagers turned and saw Ace shouting in the corner, who seemed to be losing his patience. Not just him, everyone was watching them.
"Way to ruin their moment, Ace." Tia pinched her husband's ear.
"OWOWOWOWOW! ! Sorry, Tia, I couldn't help it!"
The two walked out of the hallway and shyly looked away with a blush on their faces.
"Tendou, you sly devil~ When did you become this smooth~ ?" Sonia asked her son, nudging him lightly.
"Kaa-san... "
Minako noticed a new device in her daughter's hands. "Misaki, what happened to your cellphone?" she asked her daughter.
"Well, Mama... " Misaki whispered to her mother's ear and explained the situation.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. It was nice of Tendou to buy you a new one for your birthday, Misaki." Minako complimented, examining the blue Hunter-VG in her hands. "Strange... for some reason, I feel like I've seen this device before."
"Really, Mama?" Misaki asked.
"Hmm... Must be my imagination." Minako returned the blue Hunter-VG to her daughter.
It was nighttime.
"We should be going home now." Minako notified everyone and faced the people in WAZA, "Geo, Sonia, thank you very much for inviting us. You raised a fine son." she praised them.
"You're most welcome, Minako!" Sonia replied cheerfully.
"If you need someone to talk to, come to our house anytime!" Geo added.
"Suzuna, it was nice knowing you!" Kelvin said to the young girl.
"The resemblance between mother and daughter is striking." Hope noted, "You're gonna be a fine young girl!"
"Oh, thank you very much, Mrs. Stelar." Suzuna bowed to them.
Tendou led the Ayuzawa family to the entrance as Minako and Suzuna were waiting outside for Misaki.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow, then." the spiky brown-haired said.
"Yeah." the black-haired nodded and locked her eyes at him. "Tendou... there's something I want to convey to you." she said calmly.
"What is it?" Tendou asked, feeling a bit curious.
Misaki wasn't sure how to thank him, but knew this is the right time to show him her appreciation. On cue, she took a step forward and planted a kiss on the right side of his face.
Tendou widened his eyes in complete astonishment as his face turned beet red.
His family, Ace, Tia, Jack, and Dan widened their eyes in surprise at the sight.
"I figure this might happen." Draco commented.
"Tendou... arigato (thank you) for today, and for my birthday! I haven't had a birthday like this in a long time!" she grew a happy smile and made her way to her mother and sister.
The spiky brown-haired was stunned and raised his right hand, touching that kiss spot.
He couldn't believe it actually happened; he wished it wasn't a dream.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow, Tendou!" she waved at him as the Ayuzawa family left their way home.
Tendou slowly turned around with his face beet red.
Sonia was the first to break the silence and approached her son with a delightful smile. "Tendou, I'm very impressed! Ever since you met Misaki and worked together at Maid Latte, you've been becoming a new you! I'm glad you actually asked her out on a date! So sweetie, how was your first date? Tell Mommy every-" Unable to finish her sentence, her son suddenly collapsed on the floor with a thud as she gasped in shock. "Tendou!"
"Tendou! Master Tendou!" Geo and Draco followed her as Sonia gently lifted her son up.
"Tendou, what happened! ? Say something!" Sonia pleaded.
The spiky brown-haired began to pant heavily. "Finalize... Combo... I forgot about... the side-effect... it really... took a beating out of me... " he said slowly between panting. Due to using Finalize Combo, his body received a tremendous fatigue, and he had been enduring it after the battle with Blaze Heatnix.
"You actually used Finalize Combo! ?" Geo asked in disbelief, "Tendou, it's true you did create that powerful transformation, but your body won't withstand it! It's even worst than Gemini Brothers Finalize!"
"I'll... I'll manage to endure it... Tou-san... " Tendou stood up slowly as Sonia helped her son up. "I... I made a promise... I promised to protect Misaki... with my life!" he told him solemnly.
"Tendou... " Sonia whispered in a surprised tone.
"Oh, he is so like his father." Ace stated with a smile, crossing his arms.
"Indeed, he is, Ace." Tia nodded in agreement.
"You know, it's sad to see Geo doesn't have that kind of power back then." Jack noted.
Dan chuckled and took out his silver Hunter-VG. "Okay, Gunner, you can come out now. There are only a few slices of cake left."
A silvery-white energy came out of the black-haired boy's Hunter-VG and materialized into an EM Wave lifeform that looked like Omega-Xis, but with green eyes and blue and gold armor.
"Oh, finally! CAKE! ! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! !" Gunner exclaimed and grabbed the slices of cake on the table with his claws. He gobbled them and felt the sweet flavor on his taste bud.
"Whoa! Easy there, Gunner! You don't wanna get a cavity!" Ace warned him.
"Hahahaha! Easy for you to say! I'm an EM Wave being, not a human!" Gunner corrected him, continuing to gobble the cake.
Miyabigaoka High
Tora stood up from his chair and faced the window.
"Kaichou, are we really going to do this?" Maki asked his friend.
"According to plan, this arrangement will be flawless... " the blonde grew a gleeful smile, "-for that Kaichou of Seika High and that Tendou bastard." his smile grew wider, and his fangs were showing, mixing with his frown, "I owe that rejection bastard another beatdown after what he did to me that time." he remembered his first fight with Tendou, and noticed his strength was very abnormal. "Maki!"
"Hai (Yes), Kaichou!"
"It's time we settle the score with them!" Tora's smile turned evil and announced the name of his plan, "Operation... Kidnap!"
