I wave goodbye to Yoshiko as we go our separate ways, I head to my testing facility and begin to do some stretches while preparing for the exam. While I do my mind wanders back to the orientation "I wonder if Yoshiko knew Uravity and Deku personally, they stared at her for quite a bit." I groan as I get up when the doors to the facility opened "I'll ask her if I see her again but for now the exam." I crack my knuckles and run into the facility extending my right hand forward and my left hand backward, creating a vacuum in front of me and a high-pressure area behind me, launching me forward with incredible speed. Using the difference between high-pressure and low-pressure areas I created I propel myself towards the center of the testing grounds.

When I land I create a high-pressure to slow my fall down, I slow down enough that I can safely land in a superhero pose, I hold the pose for a second and chuckle "that felt awesome" I slowly stand up and dust myself off, I look around to see myself surrounded by robots. They all turn to face me and I chuckle "Vacuum Crumple!" I shout out and raise my left hand to the sky with my fingers all fully extended, focusing my power to a singular point above me, the air around me slowly started blowing away from me as I created a low-pressure that progressively decreased until it became a complete vacuum. "Collapse!" I shout before quickly turning my hand into a fist, the area the I created suddenly collapsed, the area sucking in everything around me, even the faux villains towards the center of the vacuum, smashing, mangling, and destroying every single faux villain around me in a blink of an eye.

"WOAHH! Someone just got 179 points instantly! That's overpowered yo! We barely even started!" Present Mic said over the speaker system

I smile and release a breath I didn't know I was holding in "I guess I passed already! That's awesome!" I shout excitedly and jump and throwing my fists in the air "I can't wait to tell my mom!" I say to myself and begin walking back to where I came from before suddenly a large wall of ice formed in front of me, my left leg becoming encased in the ice "C-cold!" I wince and grip my leg and fall onto the ground.

"I can't tell if you're arrogant or just really that oblivious to the strength of your quirk." I heard a man say as he approached me from the right.

My eyes go wide and I stop struggling from the ice my leg was trapped in "I-I swear Shoto I'm not arrogant! I was just so excited I got to try out a move!" I stammer out.

He nods and kneeled down beside me "I can understand that but too bad you're gonna lose all those points because of it, you really have a lot of potential in you." he sighed and placed a hand on me and felt my right shoulder start to freeze over.

I smile and nod "Thank you Shoto, but I don't intend to lose that easily" I focus on the ice wall that was trapping my leg "expand!" I shout before I use my quirk to make the air bubbles in Shoto's ice expand by increasing the air pressure causing the entire ice wall to shatter into an icy powder.

This makes Shoto flinch and stumble back and I use this opportunity to get up and run "Not so fast!" he gets up and speeds towards me, using his ice to push him forward.

I put my right hand in front of me and my left behind me and again I create a high-pressure area behind me and a low-pressure area in front of me sending me flying forward, slowly gaining distance away from Shoto "He's really fast but if I keep this up I could get away from him!" I bring myself to a sudden stop by increasing the pressure in front of me and quickly switch my direction to fake out Shoto, soon I see him pass by me on the left as he begins a wide turn "I remember, he's fast but his turns have to be really wide so he doesn't fly off his ice." I smile as I speed away from him backward "I'm actually getting away from hi-WOAH!" I scream as I'm flung sideways and fly into a window of a building. I groan and slowly push my self up from the ground "What was that?" I climb out of the window I was flung into and look at a woman walking towards me "Oh shit, it's Earphone Jack!" I shout and raise my right hand to try and use my quirk before I'm thrown against the wall of a building again.

"Shoto! I've got him pinned over here!" She shouted as she plugged in her earphone jacks to her legs and blasted me with a continuous soundwave attack, pinning me to the wall.

I groan in pain as each pulse pushes me into the wall harder "Damn it! I can't move!"

Shoto's skated right next to her "Good work Kyoka, the other applicants are coming but I'll handle them, you hold him there he has a strong quirk, don't let him catch you off guard."

I slowly look down at my hand and smirk as I come up with a plan "Soundwaves need a medium to travel through, but if I can remove the medium, no soundwave." I slowly turn my hands outwards and focus my quirk on the area behind me "Vacuum Bubble!" I shout before I create a large vacuum between me and Earphone Jack causing her soundwaves to stop hitting me and I fall to the ground gasping for breath, I turn around keeping my hands pointed towards her.

"What? How?" Earphone Jack goes wide-eyed.

Shoto turns to her while unleashing a wave of fire at a group of students trying to attack him "He created a vacuum between you and him!"

I smirk and run off to the side "collapse!" I shout as I remove the vacuum, Earphone Jack's soundwaves smashing into the building.

Shoto creates a large ice wall that stops the students from attacking them, he turned to face me before he sent a wave of fire barrelling towards me.

I take a deep breath before I extend my arms out and create a vacuum in front of me, causing all of the fire to divert to my sides "Even if it isn't hitting me, the heat is immense!" I scream and run towards Shoto "I won't be able to get away, I have no choice but try to disable them!"

"I can't see him Shoto! Stop the flames he's just pushing it away!" Earphone Jack shouted

Shoto nods and moves his right hand in front of him and right when he switches his flames off he gasps and stumbles back seeing me right in front of him "How are you that quick?" he quickly used his ice to propel himself backwardusing "Earphone Jack hit him now!" he shouted and stopped when he got a good distance away from me.

"Okay!" Earphone Jack plugged into her amplifiers in her forearm and pointed them at me "Heartbeat Surround!" she shouted and unleashed a powerful soundwave attack at me.

Simultaneously Shoto attacked me with a massive wave of flames.

I shielded myself with my arms as time seemed to have slowed down "I have no chance like this! I have one last shot!" I scream to exhale all of my air from my lungs as I extend both of my arms outwards "TOTAL VACUUM!" I felt my eardrums pop outwards and my skin start to chill as I create a vacuum with me at its center, the area getting larger with each millisecond.

Shoto's flame disappears and diverts to the sides as it touches the vacuum.

Earphone Jack's soundwave attacks completely disappear as they're engulfed by the vacuum, being much closer to me the vacuum surrounds her first. She tries to gasp for air as she falls to her knees and clutches her neck, she tries to scream for help from Shoto but like her soundwave attacks, the sound is stolen in the absence of a medium to travel through.

I tremble as I exert more force into my quirk and further expand the vacuum "Just a bit longer! Hold on Hayate, you can do this!"

Shoto is soon engulfed in the vacuum too, his flames dying out as it did, he fell to his knees, grabbing at the ground as he struggled to breathe.

I look to my right and see Earphone Jack slumped over on the ground "She passed out! I got Earphone Jack! That means I'm at 219 points! Now I only need to take care of Sh-" My vacuum disappears suddenly when my lower body is frozen over in ice and it slowly spreads up my entire body and stops right below my neck "I-I can't move!" I try to move my hand but my fingers were frozen in place.

I look to Shoto and see a trail of ice that began at his right hand and lead to my legs, while he had his left hand on his chest as he took deep breaths "You-are way stronger than I first perceived. But- now you're out!"

I sigh as I stand there frozen in place throughout the rest of the exam. When the exam finished Shoto was still undefeated but Earphone Jack was too tired to participate in the rest of the exam.

Shoto walked over to me and began thawing me out "Even if you got eliminated within the first 5 minutes you did absolutely outstanding, do you know how many villain points you have?"

I nod and move my fingers around as they thaw out "Um yes sir, I should have around 109 points. But, sir, is Earphone Jack going to be okay? I made her pass out earlier and she looks really tired."

She walked over to me still taking deep breaths "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine Mr?" she asks me with her hands on her hips.

I smile as the rest of my body finishes defrosting, I shake my legs and my arms "Ooh that's still cold-I'm Hayate Akari, Ms. Earphone Jack" I smile and brush off some extra ice that still clung onto my clothes. I extend my arms out and create another high-pressure area of oxygen in-between my hands "If you need it, I created a high-pressure area filled with oxygen."

Shoto smirked and gently nudged Earphone Jack "Just accept his offer, it'll help you anyway."

Earphone Jack sighed and rolled her eyes "Fine, Shoto." She looked at me with a raised eyebrow "I just breathe in right?"

I nod and she leans down, taking a deep breath her eyes went wide and she stumbled back a bit "She had the exact same reaction as Yoshiko! That's pretty funny."

Earphone Jack rubbed her eyes and exhaled deeply "Woah, that was a lot of oxygen! What's your quirk, do you control the oxygen in the air or something like that?"

"No ma'am, I just control the pressure of air by changing its volume, my mom said I got it from my dad but... let's just say he didn't stick around long enough for me to find out for myself" I flashed them a smile and chuckled.

Earphone Jack nudged Shoto "Hey say something, you guys have something in common!"

Shoto cocked his eyebrow at her "Daddy issues are not something two people should have in common you know."

She smiled and shrugged with her earphone jacks "Just thought maybe you might give him some wisdom about it.

Shoto turned to me "In that case, there's no use in be-"

I shake my hands erratically "It's fine Shoto sir! I'm not actually angry at me dad." they gave me confused looks "Him being gone was the reason why I practiced my quirk so much and why I wanted to become a hero, if it wasn't for him being so absent in my life I probably would've never even thought of becoming a hero honestly."

Shoto looked at me and smiled "Well that's good, you're on the path of becoming a good hero, you're already doing much better than me when I was your age I resented my dad, I wasn't improving myself but you, you're using it as inspiration to become a better and stronger hero... that's admirable. Keep working hard on your quirk kid." he patted my shoulder and walked off.

Earphone Jack turned to me smiling "That's high praise right there you know, good luck to you, I hope you pass the written exams tomorrow, it'd be great to see you as a student here." she pulled her phone out of her pocket and plugged in her earphone jacks "I'll see you around Akari." she smiled and walked off humming.

After the exam, I head straight outside, when I was walking towards the exit of U.A. I saw Yoshiko walking home too, accompanied by another girl. I run over to her "Hey Yoshiko! It's me Hayate!" I shouted smiling and waving my hand.

She turned me smiling and my eyes go wide when I see her wearing a cast on her left arm "Hi Hayate!" Yoshiko smiled and gave me a small wave. She turned to the girl she was walking with, a redhead "Nari, this is the guy I was talking about!"

She turned to me and scanned me up and down, she put her fingers on her chin and nodded "Hmm, he is kinda cute like yo-."

Yoshiko immediately slapped the back of her head and looked at me with a soft blush "d-don't mind her! Nariko is just saying stuff!" She looked away a bit flustered.

Nariko chuckled and smiled at me extending her hand to me "It's great to meet you Hayate, I'm Nariko but just call me Nari!"

I nodded and shook her hand "Great to meet you too, have you guys known each other long?"

"Nah, we only met just before the hero exam started actually. First, she made my boobs bigger, then she-mmmph!"

Nariko tried to get her mouth to open but couldn't, I looked to Yoshiko who was pinching her fingers together "Nari stop oversharing!" she released her fingers which let Nariko talk again.

She laughed and rubbed the back of her neck "Yeah, yeah, sorry about that back in my house we're all cool talking about stuff like that." She shrugged and put her hands on her hips.

Yoshiko shook her head and sighed "Well anyways, do you guys have a phone number? I'd love to stay in touch with you guys!" she smiled and bounced up and down while she pulled her phone out.

Nariko quickly pulled her phone out smiling "That's a great idea! Here you go Yoshi!" she put her phone in Yoshiko's hand.

She started typing in Nariko's phone number "How about you Hayate? Do you have a phone?" Yoshiko smiled as she handed Nariko's phone back to her.

I scratch my head and sigh "Uhh I do but... screw it here you go" I sigh as I pull my flip phone out and hand it to her Yoshiko "I'm kinda embarrassed by it cause its so ol-"

"So retro!" Nariko took my phone and began playing with it, flipping it open and close "This is so cool- Hey!"

Yoshiko snatched the phone away from Nariko "You don't just play with another man's flip phone." she giggled and began typing in my number "There's no need to be embarrassed about your phone." she flipped it closed and handed it back to me "It's just a phone."

I nod and smile, pocketing my flip phone "Yeah, just a phone." I sigh and put my hands in my pockets "I think I'll head home now Yoshi? Can I call you that too?"

She nodded "Yeah, of course, you can, but I gotta give credit to Nari here for the nickname."

Nariko suddenly jumped on my back and hugged me "I came up with it! Cute right?" she smiled as she hopped off me "Befitting of this cutie right here!" she wrapped her arm around Yoshiko's neck and poked her cheek.

I chuckle and nod "Yeah, it's a cute nickname, really fits you." I sighed and looked down as I walked away "Anyways I really gotta go now, see you guys at U.A. hopefully!"

Nariko jumped up and pumped her fist in the air "YEAH! U.A.!"

Yoshiko squealed as she got knocked off balance "Woah! Woah! Nari careful!"

I walk down the street and pull my phone out and open it up. I scroll through my contacts list and click on one "Hey, mom I made some new friends today at the U.A. entrance exam! Hope your work in Egypt is going well, Aiko misses you a lot." I sigh and put my phone back in my pocket and began whistling. "Don't worry Aiko, mom is coming home soon... till then I'll be your hero."
