Derek tells Meredith he's married before Addison shows up, she gets angry and goes for a drink at Joe's – and then met a lonely girl.

Meddison/MerAdd – 1x09 AU – One-Shot.

"- He's married," she muttered to her tequila glass – not the first she had been drinking tonight. She still couldn't believe that her great, handsome, charming McDreamy used to be married. It was too good to be true. She emptied her glass, and immediately asked for a new one.

"- Can you believe my boyfriend used to be married?" Meredith asked the women by her side while Joe was refilling her glass. This women was a gorgeous redhead with endless legs and piercing blue eyes.

"- Sure," the unknown answered. "My husband flew to the other side of the country to avoid me."

"- Cheers to the men then," Meredith said, taking her drink to bump it against her neighbor's one. "A bunch of liars and assholes."

"- To the men!" the other girl repeated, as they clashed their glasses, and then they drank a large gulp of their respective drinks.

"- Sometimes I think I should swear off men," Meredith complained. Her new drinking mate wasn't drinking her first glass too, she was uninhibited enough to talk with a lonely stranger in a bar.

"- Yeah, me too. Sometimes."

"- I'm used to one-night stands, but what am I supposed to do when my one-night stand shows up as my boss?" Meredith asked, burying her face into her hand.

"- God!" The redhead laughed loudly. "What did you do?

"- He never stopped chasing me, and he was so kind, and handsome, and so McDreamy that I couldn't resist longer. And that was greaaaat… And then he told me he was married."

"- And the fairy tale was broken."

"- Yeah, and now I'm the stupid intern who slept with an attending." Meredith stated.

"- You're a surgeon?" the redhead asked. Meredith nodded.

"- So am I," the stranger said. "I'm Addison, by the way."

"- And me, I'm just a girl in a bar," Meredith laughed when she remembered the last person she said that.

"- Okay, Girl in a bar." Addison laughed too, even if she didn't really understood why, just joining Meredith.

"- I'm laughing because I said that to my ex when I met him there," Meredith explained, and the two girls laughed again, louder.

"- Your story is hilarious," Addison said.

"- Isn't it?" Meredith replied. "How is yours?

"- Common. My husband neglected me. He was mad at me and I had no idea why. I suffered from it, and his best friend was soooo into me…"

"- Nooo? You didn't screw his best friend, did you?

"- Oooh yes I did. But he figured it out."

"- Crap." Meredith took another sip from her drink.

"- He kicked me out first, but the he decided to left the state instead. The he declined all my calls and I think he's determined to never talk to me again."

"- He sucks," Meredith stated.

"- Sure. And on top of that, when my husband left, things were becoming serious with the best friend… And then he cheated on me. It's karma, I guess."

She quickly glanced at their drinks – they were both empty. "Drinks on me," she said to Meredith, and then asked Joe for a refill.

"- Thanks," Meredith said. "Your life sucks at least as much as mine. And you know what? I'm definitely swearing men off. I'm gonna… knit instead. Yeah. Knitting is great."

"- Do you even know how to knit?" Addison raised an eyebrow.

"- No," Meredith admitted. "But I will learn. Maybe my roommate knows how to knit. But at least, knitting never turn you into your boss dirty mistress."

"- Good point. Maybe I should try the knitting thing. I'm sure you can also avoid being your husband's dirty adultery soon-to-be-ex-wife."

"- You should really try knitting, I'll feel less alone. Oh, look, theses glasses are empty. Next round is for me."

"- Your ex doesn't deserve you."

They both laughed again.

"- The only drawback with the knitting," Meredith asserted, "is that I'll miss sex."

"- Damn. You're right. This ain't fair."

They both pouted until Addison brought a new idea.

"- What about screwing women instead of men?" she asked, with a bright smile on her face. "It's a great idea, isn't it?

"- I agree! But it's my fifth tequila, so I can't trust my brain right now."

"- Neither can I," Addison replied. "But it can't be such a bad idea. We should give it a try before trying the knitting thing."

"- With each other?" Meredith asked.

Addison's eyes opened wide, but she quickly recovered her neutral face.

"- I didn't see things that way, but why not? We're both looking for the same thing. And we already get to know each other."

"- Said like that, it seems like the greatest idea ever."

"- I wouldn't go so far, but it isn't the worse idea ever."

"- So let's give it a try."

A mischievous smile crossed Meredith's lips while she was saying these words. She slowly got closer to Addison. Instinctively, Addison leaned on, until their lips were only a few centimeters away. Slowly, Meredith raised her hand and placed it on Addison's cheek. Then, Addison crossed the remaining space between their lips.

The kiss was slow, and kind, and sweet. Their lips moved together, so slowly than it was almost painful. It lasted only a few seconds, not enough for both of them.

"- Successful test?" Addison asked, in a whisper.

"- Very successful," Meredith returned.

And they kissed again. It started slowly, and then grew faster, and way more passionate. Meredith placed her other hand around Addison's neck, and Addison buried hers into Meredith's cascade of blonde hair. They parted several times, only to catch their breaths and then start again.

"- Maybe we should call a cab for the following," Meredith suggested between two kisses.

"- We totally should."

Reluctantly separating, they quickly paid for their drinks and pulled their stuff together. Then, they left the bar, climbing the stairs to reach the outside. The cab came quickly, and brought them to Meredith's place.

And the things that happened there remains a mystery.

- the end.
