The Secret Marriage
Chapter 11
(In Scott's point a view)
While I had left Dad to look after LeAnne I decided that I would meet Rebecca's parents at the hospital. I didn't know what I was going to say to them but knew it had to come from my heart. While I was thinking in the car Virgil had called me to check in.
"Hey Scott, just checking in to see how you are doing?"
"Now that Dad is here, I am feeling a bit better now. Dad is back at the appointment taking care of LeAnne for me."
"Where are you off too?"
"I am on my way to the hospital to meet her parents, I don't want to meet them Virgil but I know it's the right thing to do. If I am honest, I just don't want to bring LeAnne up on my own."
"Scott we keep telling you that you won't be on your own, you know that we are here for you and that is the way it should be we are a family Scott."
"Virgil, I need to think about what is best for LeAnne right now, I can't do this father thing."
"Look Scott whatever you decide to do then we will be with you a 100% you know that." Said Virgil over the phone. I know that Virgil is trying his best to support me with this, he has been there non stop for me since he found out. I can't think him and Jo enough for how they helped me through the last few days.
"I will call you back once I know what I am doing thanks Virgil for just being there when I needed it. I know that you and Jo have a lot on your plates at the moment."
"It's okay Scott, you were there for me when I found out that I was a Dad to Robyn plus made sure that I got some time with Jo to sort my head out. So I owe you a lot because of what you did for me that night."
"Okay Virgil well I better go here to meet Rebecca's parents thanks for the phone call and tell your girls that I was asking for them."
"I will Scott take things easy and call me back to let me know how you get on at the hospital, I know its hard to take all this in but we are here."
"No problem Virgil I will speak to you soon bye for now." As I reached the hospital, I felt a bit nervous as Rebecca had never told me anything about her parents. So, I made my way into the hospital and had met two people down at the mortuary who was waiting outside for me. "Hello my name is Scott Tracy are you Rebecca's parents?" I had asked.
"Yes we are, my name is Sharon and this is my husband Matt. Rebecca had ran away when she was 16, it wasn't till you called from her phone that we heard anything from her. What happened to our daughter?"
"I am so sorry for your loss, she had cancer but decided that she wanted to start a family with me. So nine moths later she gave birth to a baby girl. I knew that night something was wrong when I got the call from the hospital to say that she didn't have long to live."
"So, you left our little girl to die alone then?" Asked her father.
"No she wasn't alone, I was with her when she died. She loved everyone including you two."
"What about the baby?"
"Your Granddaughter is being looked after while I am here speaking to you. You both need to go in there and say goodbye to her."
"I'm sorry I know that you are doing your best, we haven't been the best of parents to and we don't have the money to cover this." Said her father.
"Look why don't you go in there? I can take care of the arrangements for you."
"That is very kind of you." Said her mother who took the hold of my hand. While her parents went into say goodbye, I could help but think I had a big decision to make about LeAnne. I know whatever happens that my family will be there to support me through this.
