Spell of the Unown

In the region of Johto, there was a beautiful town called Greenfield. Greenfield was called that because green fields, with lots of flowers, were everywhere. In the middle of Greenfield, there was a huge mansion owned by a man named Professor Spencer Hale. Prof Hale was a pokemon researcher, who studied about legendary pokemon like Mew and such. He lived in the mansion with his daughter Molly. His wife, Mrs Hale, disappeared two years ago, so he was taking care of her. A butler and three housemaids lived in the mansion as well, and they looked after Molly too.

One night Prof Hale and Molly were reading a book together. "This book has pictures of legendary pokemon Molly," said Prof Hale "and these pictures were done by artists, who imagined what they might have looked like". Molly was looking at picture that had loads of pokemon that looked like letters of the alphabet. "This is the pokemon that you're looking for right?" she asked her father. "That's right," said Prof Hale "these pokemon are called Unown, a psychic type pokemon. I've been looking for it for quite a long time now". The truth is; his wife was researching the Unown when she disappeared. So Prof Hale thought that maybe he could find his wife, if he studied them too. Molly turned over the page of the book and saw a brown and red sort of dog. "There's Entei" she said. Entei was one of the three legendary beasts of Johto; the other two were Suicune and Raikou. "You like Entei don't you?" asked Prof Hale. "Yes I do because he reminds me of you Papa" said Molly. Prof Hale began to roar like Entei and gave his daughter a piggy back ride.

Suddenly Prof Hale's computer told him that he had an email coming. "It's from Schuyler again like always" sighed Molly. Schuyler was a pokemon researcher too and was Prof Hale's assistant and best friend. Molly knew that whenever Schuyler called, it meant her father would be leaving for his research again. Schuyler told Prof Hale that he had found something at some desert ruins, which may be connected to Unown. After listening to Schuyler's email, Prof Hale told his daughter that he had to leave. "I'll miss you papa" said Molly. "And I will miss you Molly" said Prof Hale. He picked up Molly and held gave her a hug. "I will be back as soon as I can," he said, putting her to bed, "I love you". After putting Molly to bed, he got ready to leave for the desert ruins. As soon as he shut Molly's bedroom door, Molly placed herself under the bed covers. She felt lonely without her parents around, even though the maids and butler were with her.

At the desert ruins, Schuyler led Prof Hale to a chamber that had a lot of writing on the walls. The letters were in fact written in the shape of the Unown. "Do you think these writings are about the Unown Professor?" asked Schuyler. "We will see about that" said Prof Hale, who was starting to take pictures of the writings on the wall. At that moment Prof Hale noticed a brown box, and inside was some small square tiles that had pictures of the Unown on them. Prof picked a few tiles up to look at them, when suddenly some real Unown appeared. The looked at Prof Hale for a moment and then they sent him into their dimension.

Schuyler noticed Prof Hale's disappearance and called out to him, but he couldn't find him. He did not know that Prof Hale was in the Unown's dimension. Devastated, Schuler went back to Prof Hale's mansion to tell Molly the sad news. He brought back Prof Hale's laptop and the box of tiles. "This is awful," said the Butler "now the poor young miss is all alone in this world". When Molly heard the news she was upset; first her mother disappeared and now her father has disappeared. Schuyler offered to stay at the mansion to take care of Molly.

That night Molly was looking through Prof Hale's laptop. "Papa what happened to you?" she said a little sadly. She saw the pictures of the Unown on the laptop and opened up the box of tiles her father found. "The Unown look just like letters," she said "I'll spell our names with the Unown". She spelt 'Papa', 'Mama' and 'Me', and then she started to cry, because she missed her parents very much. When one of Molly's tears fell from her eyes the tiles started to glow. Then the Unown came out of their dimension and made their way from the ruins to Prof Hale's mansion. The Unown went into the same room Molly was in and they began to circle around her, like they were bonding with her. Molly didn't mind that the Unown were right in front of her, in fact she was happy. As more Unown appeared crystallization started to form inside the mansion. This was because of the connection between Molly and the Unown; Unown was using the move hidden power to make the crystallization happen. Schuler, the butler and the three maids noticed the crystallization forming in the house and wanted to know what was happening. Schuyler burst through the door and saw the Unown with Molly. The Unown used their power to get Schuyler, the butler and the maids out of the house. Molly was happy to have company with the Unown, but she still missed her father. She looked at the Entei in her book and started to cry again. Sensing her emotions, the Unown used their power to create an Entei to replace her father. When Molly saw the illusionary Entei, she went right up to him and called him papa. Entei was surprised at first but then replied; "If that is what you wish then I am your Papa". Apparently the Entei could speak telepathically.

At the time the Hale mansion was getting more engulfed into crystal. Schuyler, the butler and the maids, who were outside, were looking at the crystal mansion with fear. The Unown had covered the whole mansion in crystal. "Young miss" said the butler, worried about Molly. "We need help" said Schuyler. He was right; there was no way they could save Molly alone.

Ash and the gang were continuing on their journey and they were actually getting near Greenfield. They had just come to a park. Just then a girl, wearing a red bandanna, came up to the gang. She had an Aipom, a purple monkey, on her shoulder. "Hi there," she said "are any of you guys trainers". "I am," said Ash "and my name is Ash". Tomo, Misty and Brock introduced themselves as well. "My name is Lisa and I wish to challenge you to a pokemon battle Ash" said Lisa.

Ash and Lisa decided to do a six on six pokemon battle. Ash sent out his Totodile, and Lisa sent out her Granbull. Granbull tried to bite Totodile, but Totodile kept on dodging. Then Totodile used water gun on Granbull, which made Granbull crash into a tree and faint giving Ash the first win. Lisa returned Granbull and sent out a Girafarig. Ash returned Totodile and sent out Chikorita. Girafarig tried to stomp Chikorita, but Chikorita dodged it. Then she used vine ship to topple Girafarig over. Girafarig fired psybeam at Chikorita, but Chikorita dodged it. Chikorita fired razor leaf at Girafarig, but Girafarig dodged and then fired psybeam at Chikorita. This time the psybeam hit Chikorita, causing her to faint and giving Lisa a win. Ash returned Chikorita and sent out Noctowl, while Lisa returned Girafarig and sent out Aipom. Aipom climbed on top of the park's climbing frame to battle. Noctowl tried to tackle Aipom, while Aipom tried to scratch Noctowl. Then at last Noctowl head-butted Aipom really hard, causing it to faint and giving Ash the second win. Ash returned Noctowl and sent out Togetic, and Lisa sent out Butterfree. Togetic used shadow ball at Butterfree, but Butterfree used safeguard to protect itself. Then Butterfree used sleep powder on Togetic, which made her about to fall asleep. Then Butterfree used whirlwind that made Togetic fall to the ground in defeat. Lisa got a second win. Ash returned Togetic and released Cyndaquil and Lisa returned Butterfree and sent out Mankey. Mankey and Cyndaquil tackled each other and then Mankey tried to punch Cyndaquil, but Cyndaquil dodged Mankey's fist and tackle it very hard. Then Cyndaquil blew flamethrower at Mankey, causing it to faint and giving Ash a third win. Lisa returned Mankey and sent out her last pokemon Quagsire, and Ash returned Cyndaquil and sent out his last pokemon Pikachu. Ash knew that Quagsire was both a water and ground type, so he ordered Pikachu to use iron tail. Pikachu hit Quagsire good with his iron tail. Then Quagsire used water gun, which backed Pikachu down onto the park swings. With the help of the swing's force, Pikachu tackled Quagsire very hard on the head. Both Pikachu and Quagsire fainted; so this round was a draw. Since Ash had won three times and Lisa two times, Ash was the winner of the battle.

After the pokemon battle was over with, Lisa and her pokemon had lunch with the gang and their pokemon. "I have to say Ash," said Lisa "you are one tough pokemon trainer". "Thanks Lisa," said Ash "you are a tough pokemon trainer yourself". Misty suggested that they all go to a pokemon center to get the all the pokemon healed up. "There is a pokemon center in Greenfield" said Lisa. "Hey I've heard of Greenfield," said Misty "it's said to be the most beautiful area in all of Johto. I've wanted to go there ever since I was small". "I just remembered that an old friend of my mum lives in Greenfield" said Ash. "What old friend Ash?" asked Tomo. "I can't remember the name," said Ash "but he was also a friend of Prof Oak". Lisa offered to show the gang the way to Greenfield.

The gang was excited about seeing Greenfield, but once they saw Greenfield in sight they were shocked. They saw the crystallization that had covered the Hale mansion and the landscape around it. "What is this?" gasped Brock. "I don't know" said Misty. Ash touched a crystal flower. "I sense a lot of psychic pokemon behind this" he said. "What psychic pokemon can do this?" asked Tomo. Before Ash could answer Tomo's question they saw Officer Jenny on her way to the pokemon center. "I suggest we get to the pokemon center too," said Lisa "we'll probably find out what's happening there". "Good idea" said Brock. 'If psychic pokemon are at work,' thought Ash 'I better phone Sabrina from Saffron City'. Since Sabrina was a psychic pokemon expert, Ash thought that she might be able to help.

Nearby Team Rocket was looking at the crystallization. "I wonder what all this is about" said Jessie. "I don't know but it sure makes Greenfield look horrifying" said James. "If you ask me I'd say that something bad is happening here" said Meowth.

Back at Pallet Town, Delia was hearing about Greenfield on the television news. "How much more can Spencer go through?" she asked herself. She looked at two photos. One was her, with Ash, Prof Oak, Prof Hale, Mrs Hale and Molly. The other photo was her as a school girl, with Prof Oak and Prof Hale in younger years. Prof Oak and Tracey were watching the news too in the lab. "Prof Hale was one of my best students" Prof Oak explained to Tracey. He showed Tracey pictures of the Unown that Prof Hale sent to him a few days ago. Just then Delia turned up. "Have you seen the news?" she asked Prof Oak. "Yes I have Delia," said Prof Oak "and I'm going to Greenfield right now. I think this may be connected with Spencer's research". "I'm going with you," said Delia "I'm worried about Spencer and Molly". Prof Oak understood and agreed with Delia's decision.

Back in Greenfield the gang and Lisa were at the pokemon center. They had met Schuyler and Schuyler had told them about Prof Hale's disappearance. Ash made a phone call to Sabrina, but her father took the call; Sabrina was out at the moment. Ash asked him to tell Sabrina to call him back as soon as she was home because it was an emergency.

Just then some construction workers and police turned up. Everyone was worried about Molly Hale, so the plan was to try and get to the Hale mansion and get her out of there. Prof Oak and Delia turned up as well. "I'm so glad you came here to help Prof Oak" said Schuyler. Ash and Tomo was happy to see their mum and Delia was happy to see her sons again.

In the Hale mansion, Molly was looking at Delia and her two sons on the news on her laptop. She stared at the two photos, which had her mother on and began to miss her. "Papa I want a mama too" she said to Entei. "If that is what you wish," said Entei "then I shall grant it".

Delia was talking to Ash and the others about Prof Hale. "I've known him for years," she said "and he used to study pokemon with Prof Oak". "He left Pallet Town to become a famous pokemon researcher right?" asked Ash. "That's correct," said Delia "but he and his family came back to Pallet Town for a visit a few years ago, when you were seven years old". "I remember that," said Ash "I also remember that Molly and I played together a lot". "Yes that's right," sighed Delia "first Spencer's wife disappeared and now this happened". "All of this is really weird" said Brock.

Suddenly Entei appeared. "What pokemon is that?" gasped Lisa. "That's an Entei," gasped Ash "one of the legendary pokemon of Johto". Delia stepped forward. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "I have come for you," Entei said to her "you are mama". Delia's eyes suddenly went blank; she was hypnotized. "Take me to my child" she said in a trance, and then she fainted. Entei got Delia onto his back and started to run back to the mansion. Pikachu and Growlithe grabbed onto Entei's tail, while Ash and Tomo gave chase. "Hey give her back!" shouted Ash. "Mum!" shouted Tomo. Pikachu tried to use his electricity to stop Entei, but Entei flung Pikachu and Growlithe off his tail. Ash and Tomo still gave chase, but Brock grabbed them to stop them from going through the crystalized field. "You two don't know what's out there" he said. Ash and Tomo began to cry out of frustration.

In the mansion Entei brought Delia to Molly and placed her on the bed. "I've brought what you asked for" he said to Molly. Molly walked to Delia to wake her up. "Mama" she said. Delia woke up, but she was still hypnotized. When Delia saw Molly she held her in her arms tightly. Molly felt very happy; she had a mama and papa with her, although they weren't her real mama and papa, and she didn't feel lonely anymore. At that time Greenfield was become more crystalized thanks to the Unown.

Back at the pokemon center, Prof Oak, Schuyler and the gang were discussing about Entei and the Unown being inside the Hale mansion. "Are the Unown psychic type pokemon Professor?" asked Ash. "Yes they are" replied Prof Oak. Just then Nurse Joy turned up. "I'm sorry to bother you," she said "but Ash you have a phone call from Saffron City in Kanto". "It must be from Sabrina the Saffron Gym leader" said Ash. He was right; on the phone was Sabrina. "It has been a long time Ash" she said. Sabrina looked different than when the gang last saw her; her eyes were not blank anymore and she looked more feminine. "It sure has Sabrina," smiled Ash "I called you because of what was happening here in Greenfield". "You were right to call me Ash," said Sabrina "I have heard stories about Prof Hale of Greenfield searching for the psychic type pokemon called Unown". "Do you know about Unown Sabrina?" asked Prof Oak. "Yes I do," replied Sabrina "and it's not good. You see Unown have the ability to read thoughts of both people and pokemon. And they have the power to make someone's thoughts a reality". Schuyler told Sabrina that the Unown were in the Hale mansion, and he told her about Molly's encounter with the Unown. "Then the Unown are behind all of this," said Sabrina "I fear that Molly and the Unown had made a connection with each other like a bond. All of the crystallization that's happening in Greenfield is probably the imagination of Molly Hale come to life". Prof Oak, Schuyler, the gang, Lisa, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy were surprised by what Sabrina had said. "Would the Unown be responsible for the disappearance of Prof Hale?" asked Schuyler. "There is a good chance that they are," replied Sabrina "Unown are the type of pokemon that hate being disturbed by humans. So since Prof Hale and his wife were researching the Unown when they disappeared, the Unown must have got upset and made them vanish". "So all of this is the Unown's fault" said Schuyler. "Thanks for your help Sabrina" said Prof Oak. "My pleasure," said Sabrina, then she looked at Ash "I can sense that you're psychic powers are becoming powerful Ash". Then she finished the phone call. "It was a good idea of yours to call Sabrina Ash," said Prof Oak "question is what to do about all this?"

At that moment a construction worker was driving his bulldozer through the crystal landscape that surrounded the Hale mansion. Molly saw it on the news and was not happy about it; she wanted to be alone with her family. "Go away," she shouted "leave us alone!" The Unown sensed Molly's anger and used their power to create big sharp crystals to push the bulldozer back. The driver wasn't hurt and he got out of the bulldozer just before it became crystallized.

Molly sent an email to the pokemon center's computer. "Mama, Papa and me want to be by ourselves forever so stay away," she said crossly "everybody leave us alone!" Everyone was puzzled by that because both Prof Hale and Mrs Hale were missing. "We need to get into that mansion and now," said Ash "not to just save my mum, but Molly too. If what Sabrina said to us was true, then I fear there's a chance that Molly is in danger. I know it seems dangerous but we can't just sit around anymore". "I agree with big brother" said Tomo. Brock and Misty agreed too. "Okay," sighed Prof Oak "Ash, Tomo, Misty and Brock I entrust this rescue mission to you four. But do be careful when you're inside that mansion. There's no telling what will happen once you're in there". Lisa handed out a gadget thing, which looked like a watch, to Ash. "This is my pokegear," she said "we can use this to contact each other while you are in the mansion". The gang headed off for the Hale mansion at once. "Please bring Molly out safely" Schuyler pleaded.

Meanwhile Team Rocket was looking at the mansion. "Okay so what are we going to do here?" asked Meowth. "Well since something in that mansion has made Greenfield into a crystalized place," said Jessie "we can use that something for our goals of conquering Johto". "Great idea," said James "and then we can use it in Kanto and everywhere else in the world". "Exactly," said Jessie "and if there are any pokemon in that mansion, we shall grab them too". James and Meowth liked that idea, and they all set off to sneak into the Hale mansion.

Meanwhile the gang had come to waterfall that was close to the Hale mansion. "If we get up this waterfall," said Brock "we shall be in the garden of the mansion". Ash released his Gyarados from her pokeball and used her to lift the gang up the waterfall. Ash switched his Cyndaquil, Totodile and Noctowl for her and his Dragonite and Charizard back at the pokemon center; he figured he might need some of his strongest pokemon for this mission. Molly and Delia saw them on the laptop. "Why are those people trying to get in our house?" asked Molly. When Delia saw Ash and Tomo, she came out of her trance. "Ash, Tomo what are you two doing?" she said. "What's wrong Mama?" asked Molly. "It's nothing" replied Delia. "That boy is a pokemon trainer Papa" Molly said to Entei. Delia was puzzled that Molly called her and Entei mama and papa.

Right now the gang had entered the garden of the Hale mansion. "Hey look," said Misty pointing to the garden pond, "the water hasn't been crystalized". "You're right," said Ash "maybe the Unown can't crystalize everything". Brock pointed to the garden house in the garden. "Schuyler said that we could get into the mansion through that" he said. He sent out his Vulpix, and Vulpix and Tomo's Growlithe used flamethrower on the crystalized door on the garden house to make a hole. Next Misty used her two Poliwhirls to use water gun to keep the hole open. Brock and Tomo returned Vulpix and Growlithe, and then one by one Pikachu, Misty, Brock and Tomo used the water gun to get through the hole. Ash picked up the Poliwhirls and jumped through the hole with them before the hole closed. "Phew," said Misty, returning her Poliwhirls "now I know what an aqua jet feels like". "Okay let's get going" said Ash.

The gang got into the mansion easily thanks to the garden house. They were now in the main hallway. Once they started walking up the stairs, the stairs and hallway suddenly changed into a room of crystal pillars, with floating crystal stair steps. "What's going on?" gasped Tomo. "The Unown must be creating a new reality" said Misty. "Now's not the time to worry about that," said Ash "we need to concentrate of finding mum and Molly". They ran up the stairs all the way to a big hole in the ceiling. When they got through the hole, they came to a beautiful field full of grass, trees and wild flowers. "Where are we?" asked Misty. "This must be part of Molly's dream world created by the Unown" said Brock.

Meanwhile Molly was thinking about the gang and their pokemon. "Do you want me to send those people away?" asked Entei. "No," replied Molly "what I do want though is to be in a pokemon battle. But I don't know if I can do it". "You can, if that is what you wish" said Entei. "I would love to become a pokemon trainer Mama," Molly said Delia "I can just imagine it now". She drifted off to sleep on Delia's lap. Entei disappeared right through the floor of Molly's room, leaving Molly with a surprised Delia. A dreamed up Molly appeared on Entei's back while he was making his way to where Ash and the others were. "Papa I don't think I'm old enough to have pokemon" said Molly. She was eight years old. "You must believe you are" said Entei. The dreamed up Molly transformed into a teenager, about the same age as Brock. "I do Papa" she said.

Entei and Molly arrived to the field where Ash and the gang were. "You four are pokemon trainers right?" asked Molly, getting off Entei, "so let's have a pokemon battle". "I don't have the time to battle you!" Ash shouted "where's my mother?" "Easy Ash," said Brock "by any chance is your name Molly Hale". "Yes that's right" replied Molly. "Brock that can't be Molly," whispered Misty "she's too old". "Don't forget the Unown can create anything that Molly wishes" replied Brock. "So which one of you four are going to battle me?" asked Molly. Ash was about to say he would but Brock interrupted him. "I'll battle you Molly," he said "Ash, you, Tomo and Misty you three keeping searching for Delia. And I'll battle Molly". Ash agreed with the plan and he, Tomo and Misty went up the crystal stairs, leaving Brock to battle Molly.

A battle field appeared on the field, and Brock and Molly got ready to battle. "Would a three on three do?" asked Brock. "Yes that's fine" replied Molly. Brock sent out his Zubat to battle first. A blue crystal pokeball appeared in Molly's hand. "This is for luck," she said, giving it a kiss, "I choose you Flaffy". Flaffy was the evolved form of Mareep and had a pink body. "Use supersonic Zubat" said Brock. Zubat released blue circles from his mouth and sent them at Flaffy. Flaffy became confused. "Okay Zubat now use bite". Zubat swooped down to bite Flaffy. "Quick Flaffy try to dodge it" said Molly. Flaffy managed to dodge it, while still a bit confused. Zubat flew over to Flaffy to try to bite it again. "Quick use headbutt" said Molly. Flaffy butted Zubat hard with its head, which made Zubat flinch. "Now use thundershock". Flaffy shocked Zubat well and Zubat fainted. Brock returned Zubat and Molly gave her Flaffy a hug.

Brock sent out Vulpix to battle next. Flaffy disappeared and Molly sent out a Teddiursa. "Figures a cute pokemon trainer like you would have a cute pokemon like that." said Brock. "Never underestimate a Teddiursa's cuteness," said Molly "use dynamic punch Teddiursa". Teddiursa's left fist glowed, and then Teddiursa charged at Vulpix and punched Vulpix very hard, sending her flying. "All right Vulpix use quick attack" said Brock. Vulpix charged at Teddiursa at great speed and Teddiursa attacked back with fury swipes. 'This match isn't going to last very long,' thought Brock "Molly's dreamed up pokemon are tougher than real pokemon'. Teddiursa and Vulpix charged at each other again, but then Vulpix fainted in defeat. Brock returned Vulpix and Molly hugged Teddiursa.

"You are a great trainer Molly," said Brock "but now I am going to rock n roll now". He sent out Onix. "Rock n roll huh," Molly chuckled "then I choose Phanpy". Phanpy was a little blue elephant and the pre-evolved form of Donphan. "Use your rollout attack Phanpy" said Molly. Phanpy curled itself into a ball and then rolled at Onix at great speed. Onix got knocked into the air and down to the ground again like a bowling pin. Normally a Phanpy wouldn't be able to do that because of its small size, but in Molly's dream world her Phanpy can.

In Molly's room Delia was looking at the book that Molly always looked at with her father. The real Molly was still resting on her lap. "Molly what's this book?" Delia asked Molly. "That's a picture book that Papa used to read to me" said Molly. "Have you been lonely when you've been by yourself?" asked Delia. "A little," replied Molly "but I don't feel that way anymore because I have a mama and papa now". Delia felt sorry for Molly and for what she has been through.

Meanwhile Ash, Tomo and Misty had arrived at another area of Molly's dream world. They had now come to a beach that had red flowers growing on a grassy area. Just then the dram Molly turned up. "Which one of you trainers wish to battle this time?" she asked. She had defeated Brock. "I guess Brock couldn't beat her" said Misty. Entei appeared. "Molly cannot be beaten" he said. Ash realized that Entei was an illusion too. He was about to accept Molly's battle request, when Misty said that she would battle. "And who are you?" asked Molly. "I'm Misty a water pokemon trainer," said Misty "and I am also one of the gym leaders of Cerulean City". Molly was amazed that Misty was a gym leader and she was not even an adult yet. Then Molly transformed into a pre-teen, the same age as Misty. Ash, Tomo and Misty were surprised with what they just saw. "The real Molly must still be up in the mansion with your mum," Misty whispered to Ash and Tomo "you two go and find them while I battle Molly". Ash and Tomo nodded and ran up the crystal stairs again.

Both Misty and Molly agreed to a water pokemon battle. Suddenly the ocean rose up and soon everyone and everything was underwater. Misty couldn't believe that she could actually breathe underwater, but then again you could do anything you want in the dream world. Molly sent out a Kingdra to battle first. Kingdra was a big blue seahorse and was the evolved form of Seadra. Misty sent out her Goldeen to battle. "Goldeen use horn attack" said Misty. Goldeen charged at Kingdra to stab it with her horn. "Quick Kingdra use your smokescreen" said Molly. Kingdra released dark purple ink from its mouth to confuse Goldeen. "Now use headbutt Kingdra". Kingdra lowered its head and butted Goldeen very hard. Golden fainted at once. "Good job Goldeen, you rest now" said Misty, returning Goldeen.

"How am I doing Misty?" asked Molly. "Not bad Molly" replied Misty. She sent out Staryu to battle and Molly sent out a Mantine. Mantine was a manta ray like pokemon. "Use tackle attack Mantine" said Molly. Mantine tried to tackle Staryu, but Staryu kept dodging it. "Okay Mantine try whirlpool". Mantine spun around Staryu and created a whirlpool, which trapped Staryu. Then Mantine used bubblebeam on Staryu to make more damage. "Use rapid spin to escape that whirlpool Staryu" said Misty. Staryu spun the opposite direction of the whirlpool and broke it. Molly was impressed with Misty's skills. "Mantine use take-down" said Molly. "Tackle it Staryu" said Misty. Mantine and Staryu kept charging at each other with their tackle and take-down attacks. Molly was enjoying every moment of being a pokemon trainer.

Meanwhile Ash and Tomo were still running up the crystal stairs, until at last they came to another hole in the ceiling. 'Please let this one be where mum is' thought Ash. When they got through the hole, they were now in the crystal tower, where Delia and Molly were. "Mum!" shouted Ash and Tomo together, running over to Delia. "Are you all right?" asked Ash. "Yes I'm fine," said Delia "but I'm more worried about you two and your reckless streaks". "Well I got mine from you Mum" said Ash. "And I am getting it from big brother" said Tomo. Delia chuckled.

Ash noticed Molly sleeping in Delia's lap. "That's Molly right?" he asked. "Yes" replied Delia. Ash and Tomo explained to Delia about the Unown and their power to make someone's imagination into a reality. "All of this crystallization was created by Molly's imagination" said Ash. "Yeah and that Entei that brought you here mum was also created by the Unown" said Tomo. "Yes and we think that the Unown are responsible for Prof Hale's disappearance and his wife's too" said Ash. Delia was surprised by what her sons had said. "Come on Mum," said Ash "we have to get out of here and get Molly out of here too". "I agree" said Delia.

Delia woke Molly up. "I was dreaming Mama," said Molly "I dreamt that I was a pokemon trainer and I was in a pokemon battle". "Listen to me Molly," said Delia "I'm sorry Molly, but I am not your real mama. I am really Ash's and Tomo's mother". Molly noticed that Ash and Tomo were in the room. "Nice meeting you Molly" said Tomo. "Do you remember me Molly?" asked Ash "I played with you a lot a few years ago". "We have to get out of here now Molly" said Delia.

Molly began to feel upset; she felt that everyone was going to leave her alone again. "I won't," she said "no!" At that moment the Unown began to use their power again and big sharp crystals shot through the floor in the room. The big sharp crystals separated Ash and Tomo from Delia and the crystals trapped them like prisons. "Tomo are you okay?" asked Ash. "I'm fine bro," said Tomo "but where's mum?" The boys found Delia unharmed in front of some crystal shears. "Mum you okay?" asked Ash. "I'm fine" said Delia. Delia noticed Molly's book next to her and saw a picture of the same sharp crystal points that were surrounding them now. "Molly has become very depressed" she said to her sons. "You're right and the Unown are responding to her sadness," said Ash "Molly has no idea what she and the Unown are doing".

Just then Entei appeared; he had sensed that something was wrong with Molly. "What is it Molly?" he asked. "Those two boys are trying to take mama away" said Molly. Entei separated Ash and Tomo from Delia using a crystal shear. "Leave her here and leave this place" Entei said to Ash and Tomo. "We are not leaving Entei!" shouted Ash. "Yeah that woman is our mum!" shouted Tomo. "No she is Molly's mother," said Entei "and she is staying here". "No she isn't," said Ash "and we are not leaving without her". "If you two do not leave then I will have to make you leave" said Entei.

Ash told Tomo to stand a side and sent out his Gyarados to battle Entei. "You are a fool," said Entei "you think that you can defeat me?" "I'm not going to be beaten to an illusion like you" said Ash. Since Entei was a fire type, Ash commanded Gyarados to use hydro pump. Entei fired a fire blast at the hydro pump. The fire blast went right through the hydro pump and hit Gyarados. Gyarados got hurt from that attack and Ash returned her. "You still think that I am an illusion?" asked Entei. Ash sent out Dragonite next. "Use hyper beam" he said. Dragonite shot an orange-yellow beam at Entei. Entei countered it with flamethrower. The flamethrower overpowered the hyper beam and struck Dragonite. Ash returned her. "Now do you believe that I am no illusion?" asked Entei. "No I don't!" shouted Ash "you are just an Entei that had been dreamed up by Molly!" "You are wrong Ash!" shouted Molly. The Unown's power was building up by the minute. "I am no illusion!" shouted Entei "I am this girl's father, and I must protect her".

Entei started to charge at Ash, but Pikachu stepped forward and attacked Entei with thunderbolt. Entei fought back with flamethrower, and soon Entei and Pikachu were in a fight. Tomo ran over to where Delia was to see if she was okay. Molly was looking at the fight in fear; she still didn't understand what was happening around her. Delia turned to Molly. "You must stop this Molly," she said "and think about your real mama and papa".

Meanwhile Team Rocket was on the scene; they had managed to sneak into the mansion and they had passed the dream worlds of Molly. "Wow this looks bad" said Meowth. "Yeah this battle between Pikachu and that pokemon is more serious than any battle I've seen in the past" said James. "I suggest we keep well back so not to interfere" said Jessie. James and Meowth agreed and they all backed into a wall.

Entei and Pikachu were still battling each other. Just then Entei blew a fire blast, which caused a small explosion, made a hole in the crystal tower and sent Ash and Pikachu flying through the hole. As Ash and Pikachu were falling towards the ground, Ash quickly released his Charizard to help them. Charizard caught them easily and flew back into the crystal tower. Delia and Tomo were relieved that Ash was okay when they saw him. "Is this another one of your pokemon?" Entei asked, once he saw Charizard. "That's right," replied Ash "I have a lot of pokemon that are my friends and family". "Then I shall defeat your family" said Entei. Charizard roared and got ready to face Entei. Entei tackled Charizard and made him fall to the ground. Ash lost his footing back by the force and nearly fell out of the tower, when two hands grabbed him.

It was Brock and Misty; they had arrived to where Ash was. "Hold on Ash" said Misty. "Yeah, we won't let you fall" said Brock. "Thanks guys" said Ash, after they pulled him to safety. He turned to Molly. "If you come with us Molly, you can have real pokemon". The crystal Flaffy, Teddiursa and Phanpy appeared in front of Molly. "I already have real pokemon," said Molly "now go away!" Entei fired flamethrower at the gang, but Misty and Brock dodged while Ash jumped onto Charizard's back.

While riding on Charizard's back, Ash suggested taking this fight outside so no one would get hurt in this battle. Charizard flew out of the crystal tower and Entei ran all over the crystalized mansion. "We mustn't hold back on this battle Charizard," said Ash "we need to get Molly out of this crazy mansion". Entei and Charizard started throwing flamethrower at each other. "Listen to me Entei," said Ash "it's not right for Molly to stay here. If you truly care about her you must let her go". "As her father I will do as she wishes" said Entei. Trying to reason with Entei wasn't easy for Ash.

While Ash and Charizard were fighting Entei, Tomo tried to reason with Molly. "Molly you have to stop this," he said to her "that Entei is not your real father". "You're wrong Tomo!" shouted Molly. "Listen!" shouted Tomo "did Spencer Hale behave like Entei is doing? Getting into fights and all that other stuff?" Molly gasped after hearing what Tomo had just said and started to remember what her real father was like.

Meanwhile Ash and Charizard were still fighting Entei. Right now they were dealing with some sharp crystal spikes. "Use steel wing to cut through the spikes Charizard" said Ash. Charizard's steel wing attack did well against the crystal spikes, but Entei suddenly appeared in front of them on a crystal spike and attacked them with a flamethrower. Ash and Charizard crashed straight into the crystal tower, where everyone was. Entei was just about to finish the fight off, when Molly asked Entei to stop fighting.

Molly realized what was happening and wanted her wishes to stop and everything to be real again. Tomo, Misty and Brock walked over to Molly. "You'll be a great pokemon trainer in the future Molly" said Tomo. "I agree because you care about pokemon very much and you've got good instincts" said Brock. "Yeah and if you ever want to, I'm sure you might make a great gym leader in the future" said Misty. "I agree too" said Ash. Just then Molly's dreamed up pokemon disappeared and the crystallization in the mansion started to calm down. Entei started to walk away. "I was created to become a father to you Molly," said Entei "but since you wish to be in the real world I must go".

Suddenly crystal spikes appeared in the room like crazy. "What's going on?" gasped Delia. "It's the Unown," answered Ash "I can sense their psychic powers are getting out of control. We need to get where the Unown are to stop them". Everyone agreed with Ash. Entei made a path towards the crystal stairs. "This way" he said. Ash asked his Charizard to carry Molly and Tomo, while he and the others ran down the stairs. Team Rocket followed too. Ash phoned Prof Oak on the pokegear and told him what was happening. Prof Oak said the crystallization outside the mansion was going crazy too. "You must get out of there or you will be trapped forever". Everyone ran out of the pokemon center, just before it became crystalized.

At that moment Delia, the gang and Team Rocket made it to the room where the Unown were. Molly was holding onto Delia in fear. "We need to stop them and fast" said Misty. Ash ran up to the Unown to try and talk to them, but he was pushed back by a sort of barrier. "They're being protected by a barrier" said Brock. Ash ordered his Charizard and Pikachu to attack the barrier with thunderbolt and flamethrower, to see if that would break it. Tomo sent out his Growlithe from his pokeball and ordered him to use flamethrower as well. But the barrier surrounding the Unown proved to be too difficult to break and Charizard, Pikachu and Growlithe were thrown off their feet by the Unown. "Now what?" asked Tomo.

The Unown's power started to get really crazy and it seemed impossible to stop them. But then Entei appeared and he used fire blast at the Unown. "Molly I was proud and happy to be your father," he said "and the last thing I can do for you now is get you out of this place. I was created from your dreams so if you believe in me I will succeed". Entei started to charge at the Unown, but the barrier was making it difficult for him. "Help me Molly". "Molly you must call out to Entei," said Ash "if you believe that he can stop the Unown, then he will". Molly felt a bit scared, but she got her courage and yelled; "You can do it Entei!" Pikachu, Charizard and Growlithe attacked the barrier with thunderbolt and flamethrower again to help Entei. Then at last Entei broke through the barrier and fired hyper beam attack at the Unown, breaking the ball of light they were surrounding. The Unown were defeated and Entei began to glow blue. "I must go now Molly" said Entei. "Entei I will miss you" said Molly. "I will miss you too," said Entei "but I will be with you in your dreams". Entei crystalized and disappeared.

After Entei disappeared, the wooden tiles, with the pictures of the Unown, disappeared and the Unown started to leave the mansion. This meant that the bond between Molly and the Unown was broken. Once the Unown left all the crystallization covering Greenfield and the Hale mansion disappeared like magic. Everything was back to normal at last.

Ash and the gang, Delia and Molly went outside the Hale mansion and saw that everything was right again. "Greenfield really is beautiful" said Ash. "Yes and this is real" said Brock. Molly saw a cloud in the sky that looked just like Entei. "Thank you for everything Entei" she whispered. Just then Prof Oak, Liza, Schuyler, the butler and three maids and the police arrived at the scene. "Come on Molly let's see everyone" said Ash. "They were really worried about you" said Misty. Molly agreed. Schuyler was happy that Molly was all right and hugged her at once. The butler and three maids were happy that Molly was safe too. In fact everyone was glad that everything was back to normal at last.

While the gang was explaining what had happened with the Unown, Team Rocket was watching the scene in one of the towers of the mansion. "Well we can't leave this place yet because of all of those police" said Jessie. "Yeah seems we are stuck here for a bit" said Meowth. "Still at least that scary encounter with those Unown is over with" said James. "Yes and that little girl's safe" said Jessie. "Yeah and even if we didn't get to get any pokemon here," said Meowth "we can always get them somewhere else". Jessie and James agreed.

So with Greenfield back to normal again and Molly safe and sound, Schuler and the butler and three maids thanked everyone for their help. Ash sent his Gyarados, Dragonite and Charizard back to the lab and brought back his Totodile, Noctowl and Cyndaquil. Liza bid farewell to the gang and set out on her journey, while the gang set out on their journey. Molly thanked the gang for all of their help before they left, and Prof Oak and Delia went back to Pallet Town.

As for Molly, well she got three surprises. The first surprise was that Prof Hale returned to the mansion, with Schuyler, to reunite with Molly. The Unown released him from their dimension after they returned to the dimension. Her second surprise was that she finally had two real pokemon of her own; a Teddiursa and a Phanpy. The last surprise of all was that her mother returned; the Unown had returned her from the dimension she had been trapped in. So Molly was as happy as can be; she had her real mama and papa back and she had a real happy future ahead of her.

I know that Sabrina didn't appear in the movie, but since she's known as a psychic pokemon expert in the games I decided to add her for a bit. I thought Molly should have gotten a real Phanpy as well as a Teddiursa at the end because her room had a Phanpy toy and a Donphan slide. I'm sorry if some readers thought that I was going to have Ash catch a few Unown, but no they don't suit him. I know I've changed things a lot in this but there will be changes in the other movies as well.
