Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Misato's room, Thursday Morning
Shinji began to stir from his sleep, he was waking after having one of his best nights since he didn't know when. The only anomalies were that he couldn't feel his right arm and he was being held by something. When his eyes began to open, their vision was obscured by a purple mass. When his eyelids open completely, the dawning realization that he was in bed with Misato. His mind tried to remember the events of last night, in which it was successful, and he recollected the events that took place the previous night. While the memories of the previous night were ever so slowly returning to him, he didn't notice Misato also beginning to awake from her slumber. While his train of thought continued on, Misato was partially awake and after surveying her surroundings for a bit, intensely cuddled Shinji. Shinji who still had wandered off and still in a thought process was caught completely by surprise when Misato initiated her attack.
"Mi-Misato-san?, What are yo-you doing" Shinji stuttered, face rapidly reddening.
"Cuddling, what else do you think" She responded continuing the procedure.
"O-ok…" He mumbled again, though he was now beginning to enjoy the situation.
She would continue cuddling with him until there were several bangs on their door. This was followed up by a barrage of angry German curses and for Shinji to stop hanging around her and get to making breakfast.
"Gott Verdamnt Shinji, Ich will Frühstück jetzt, also hören Sie auf, es im Bett zu tun und steigen Sie aus!" (God damn it Shinji, I want breakfast Now, so stop doing it in bed and get out!)
Shinji visibly flinched at the bombardment he was given by the fiery redhead. He may not have known a lot of German (though Asuka did occasionally give him lessons) but he did know that considering the time, he had to make breakfast or face the wrath of an angry Asuka in the morning.
"Hey Misato, I'm gonna have to get up now…"
"Nope, you're staying here with me for the rest of the day"
"But I have school today and I still have to make breakfast" Shinji reasoned.
"So you don't want to stay with me?" Misato replied, faking a pout to get him to change his mind.
"But Misato!..."
"Oh I'm just kidding, come let's get up, I'm pretty sure Asuka's going to be mad with you"
Shinji just sighed and got up from her futon, and upon opening the door found a raging Asuka who could at any moment choose to inflict said anger onto him.
"Baka! What took you so long, don't realize that we have school today or, did thoughts about Misato make your forget!?" Asuka demanded still fuming.
"Not re-really Asuka…" He trailed off, head facing the floor.
"Well, you better hurry up and make me breakfast or you're getting it!" Asuka yelled once more at Shinji
"So-sorry" He merely mumbled, slowly moving off towards the kitchen.
"Of course your sorry, your always sorry Baka!"
"Now now Asuka, it's not right to yell at Shin-chan so early in the morning, it won't do you or him any good" Misato finally got out of her room and was now in defense of Shinji.
"And it's fine that you two sleep together?!" Asuka now directed her anger towards her guardian who was just behind her.
"Yeah, that bene-" She hadn't finished her statement until Asuka cut her off.
"So how beneficial was that confession?" Asuka retorted, springing her trap.
"Co-confession…You HEARD IT?!" Misato was now in a state of shock and panic for, the most abrasive redhead she knew had heard the entire confession that she had with Shinji and Asuka being Asuka was…well it wasn't going to end on a happy note for sure.
"Of course I did, so you thought you could have Shinji all to yourself, huh" Asuka countered, her plan had been promptly shattered last night at winning over Shinji's heart but she wasn't just about to give up just yet.
"You won't tell right?"
"Maybe, Maybe not" And with that she walked off towards the dining room, leaving Misato speechless behind her.
2-A Classroom, Thursday morning
Shinji had made breakfast earlier and it was eaten in complete silence. The walk to school was the same as any other day aside from the fact that he was significantly happier than he usually was and was smiling all the way towards school. His happiness continued throughout the school day, a fact that Asuka would take note of. By the time lunch had rolled around, Shinji had handed Asuka her usual bento-box lunch and went to sit with Toji and Kensuke.
"Hey Shin-man, how's life with Katsuragi?" Toji asked at the three of them sat down at their usual table.
"Oh, nothing much, just the same day-to-day routine" Shinji responded, deciding to leave out last night's confession for a good reason.
"Hmmm, nothing interesting?" Now it was Kensuke who spoke up now.
"Yeah, as I said just me going about my daily life," He said once more, hoping that they would drop the conversation topic. Which they did, and they began to have lunch in silence until…
BAKA!
And before Shinji could even comprehend the situation, he was pulled off by Asuka not to be seen by anyone else until after the lunch period…
Asuka had pulled Shinji to a part of the school that had vegetation and had him sat under an Oak tree.
"A-Asuka why are we here?" Shinji meekly asked, still confused as to why Asuka had pulled him away so suddenly.
"Well Third, you and I need to talk…" She started, the tone of her voice was serious and Shinji decided to talk until asked to do so to avoid any possible beatings.
"First, good job on that Chemistry test, you got 2 points higher than me…" With that short pause, Shinji just nodded.
"Second, we're going to have some more German lessons on Saturday, courtesy of me Baka, so feel honored and lastly…"
"About your little CONFESSION with Misato last night," She said that part louder than usual but there really wasn't anyone there so she didn't mind.
Shinji meanwhile just gulped at the fact she knew his feelings for Misato and heard, and probably saw, the events that took place during the night.
"Asuka-"
"NO Baka! Don't talk until I'm finished…" Shinji visibly flinched at this, fearing that Asuka would go ballistic on him.
"Alright so…I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PERVERT, confessed to that drunkard and you BOTH had the same feeling for each other, you should have gone with some more closer to your age like…like me…" By the time Asuka had finished, her voice was significantly lower than her yelling previously.
"Asuka you mean yo-" He didn't even finish when Asuka pulled him into a Kiss. It was only after did she confirm his beliefs…
"Yes Baka, I Do Love you…and I don't care if you also have interests in Misato, you'll always be my Baka" They then sat there, wrapped in an embrace.
Living room, Thursday Afternoon
School had finished and Shinji and Asuka went home, holding hands after leaving the school premises. The walk home had also been fairly quiet but this was more peaceful since Asuka wasn't launching insults at Shinji and seemed to be in a good mood(surprisingly). When they got back home, they found a note from Misato she might miss dinner tonight. Asuka had made her way her room to get changed, while Shinji plopped onto the couch and turned on the television.
Shinji's Thought process
What do I do?
Misato and Asuka both love me, but I should choose one…right?

No, I'm can't choose One, the other will be disappointed, maybe heartbroken...I should choose both of them but is that even a good idea, will they accept it?
Maybe I should tell them I can't be with them, then everything will go back to normal…NO I Shouldn't run away from this, they told me they LOVE me, no one has said since mo-mother… I guess I'll have to find a compri-
His line of thought was cut when something fell into his lap, something with some weight to it. When he snapped out, found it was Asuka lying her head on his lap, toying around with her hair.
"Hey Baka, what's with you staring off into space, you're not sick are you, I want some time tonight with my Baka, you know?"
"Uh Asuka, what about Misato?"
"Eh, she said she'll be late tonight so we ju-"
"I'm Home!" The sound of Misato's voice echoed throughout the apartment, Asuka glancing at Shinji, mild panic setting in, while Shinji just gave her an Uh-huh look and wasn't that impressed.
"Hey guys, I bought some take-out on the way, so Shin-chan can rest on cooking tonight, which means he can sleep with me for the ni-"
"Nope he's sleeping with me tonight, Ms.Drink my sorrows away" Asuka concluded, giving Misato the death glare, who returned it. This saw the room's tension rise drastically as the two females of the house stared each other down. Shinji was about to say something when they lashed out at each other.
"Why would Shin-chan sleep with you?!" Misato barked, Asuka refusing to flinch.
"BECAUSE HE CONFESSED TO ME ASWELL!" The room fell silent as Misato and Asuka what she had said. They stayed like that until Misato spoke up again, her voice lower than last time.
"He confessed to you too?"
"Ye-yeah why?" The exchange was now softer and the tension slowly leaving the room. Misato walked up to Shinji then got down to his level.
"Shinji-kun…who do you really love?..." Her voice uncertain and her eyes started getting watery, anticipating a rejection.
"I…I can't say no to any of you…you guys are the only people who love me and the only other person who shown any sense care and lovingness was…was my mother…So I can't reject any of you and I both truly Love both you guys…" His vision turned to the floor, he feared for a possible retaliation but instead got something he didn't expect.
They Hugged him.
"Shinji-Kun…" Misato softly mumbled in his ear, this time it was affectionate.
"…Thank you" Asuka whispered into his left, finishing for Misato.
By this time, Shinji had also returned the embrace. They stayed like that until a certain Penguin came for his food.
"Wark, Wark!"
"Huh of Pen-Pen, you need food buddy?"
"Wark"
"Fine, we'll get your food, Shouldn't we all have dinner now?" Misato suggested.
"Sure that doesn't sound bad"
"Uh fine, let's have dinner"
So the trio and a penguin moved into the dining room to have their evening meal. They got seated and Shinji helped Misato unwrap the takeout she bought. Dinner was lively and they all conversed about previous events and their feelings(Of course centered around Shinji). Soon dinner finished and they dispersed to their nightly activities, but not before reaching an agreement…
Misato's room, Thursday Night
Misato, Shinji, and Asuka all huddled together on Misato's futon. They had reached an agreement that they would sleep in Misato's room, as she had the biggest of the beds in the apartment, but that didn't mean they could all fit. Asuka had to snuggle really close to Shinji(Not that she didn't enjoy it) and had turned his chest into her pillow. Misato had cuddled up to Shinji, wrapping him in a tight embrace, and Shinji was, well he certainly enjoyed life more now, one arm around each girl and a smile to accompany it. After the trio said their respective goodnights, they drifted off to sleep, falling into a deep slumber and having dreams that weren't as terrifying as they used to be…

Omake: Breakfast Bagels-The Sequel
Asuka was sound as sleep and was enjoying to until a devastating Shriek shook the apartment complex
WHERE IS MY BEER!?
She smirked at this, ever since learning that it was Misato who had taken her Bagel that Shinji had made, she decided on revenge as the best option. She sat up and stretched her arms high and after a yawn, she made her way to the dining room.
The scene that befell her was quite amusing, Shinji was trying in vain to comfort Misato and her quiet sobbing. She snickered at this and made her way to the fridge to get some water to drink. She was drinking from her glass until the exchange she heard nearly made her spit her water back out.
"Shinji-Kun, can you stay with me tonight and all the other nights until I get my beer back?"
"Eh? But Misato I'm not suppose-"
"Please Shin-chan, I need another way of keeping my bad thoughts at bay so, Please?"
"Uhhh, fine Misato I'll sleep with you until you get your beer back"
"Awww, Thanks Shinji, you're the best" And pulled him into a hug so tight he nearly fainted due to lack of Oxygen.
The thought that entered Asuka's head after she had recovered was…
This is not why I had planned for…why, how and did she kn-
Her worst nightmare came hitting her in the face as she saw Misato cast her a glare that was only rivaled by her in terms of Evilness
