Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.
To all my readers in the US, Happy Mother's Day!
I had to write a little Mother's Day story with Greta and Jackson! And I reference my story Birthday Coffee, which I hope you enjoy. Oh, and I wrote a special story with Nick and Finn too. Anyway, hope you enjoy...and pretty please review!
Greta and Jackson were helping their father Greg fix breakfast for Morgan. After Greta "helped" make Greg's coffee for his birthday last year, he and Jackson tried to keep a close eye on her. Greta happily hummed a little song and helped Jackson arrange some fruit in a bowl as Greg finished making pancakes.
"Dad, did you remember Mama's flowers?" Jackson asked as he finished making a fruit salad.
"I did," Greg said. He gestured to a bouquet on the table he'd picked up earlier at the store. "Think she'll like 'em?"
Jackson nodded as Greta said, "Petty!"
"You like them?" Greg asked his daughter. Greta nodded and said, "yes!"
"Mama will love them," Jackson said. He thought for a moment and smiled at his sister. "Hey, Greta? You want to get Mama some flowers too?"
"Yes!" Greta said with a big smile.
Greg raised an eyebrow at his children. "What are you up to?"
Jackson helped his sister off the counter. "We'll be right back, dad!" He took Greta's hand and they headed to the backyard.
Twenty minutes later, Greg, Jackson and Greta came in the bedroom where Morgan was just waking up. "Happy Mother's Day!" They shouted.
Morgan smiled at her family. "Oh, thank you!"
Greg set the tray with the food on the nightstand as Jackson and Greta crawled into the bed.
"Now!" Jackson whispered to his sister.
"Me do, Baba!" Greta said with a glare only a four-year old could make adorable. She smiled at Morgan and gave her what was in her hand. "For you, mama!"
"Oh," Morgan said with a sweet smile as she looked at Greta's gift. She'd picked four dandelions from the backyard, with stems barely long enough to hold. "Sweetie, these are beautiful," Morgan told her.
"Baba hewp," Greta said. "Him pick dem too!"
"Hey, I just took her out in the yard," Jackson said. "She picked them herself."
"Because she wanted you to have pretty flowers, " Greg said. Jackson winked at his father.
"Mama, dey as pwetty as Dada?" Greta asked.
Morgan smiled lovingly at her children. "They are," she said honestly. "Because you and your brother and daddy give them with love." Jackson rolled his eyes and softly giggled. Greta beamed at her mother.
"You like dem?" Greta asked.
"I love them," Morgan said as she leaned down and kissed Greta's nose. Greta giggled.
Morgan hugged and kissed Jackson and Greg. "Thank you all." She kissed Greta's forehead. "Now you and your brother wash your hands so you can help me eat daddy's pancakes."
"Yes!" Greta said as Jackson said, "Okay!" They both loved Greg's homemade pancakes. They headed to the bathroom giggling.
Greg put the bouquet he got Morgan in a vase and carefully placed Greta's dandelions with the flowers. "I think these are the most beautiful flowers I've ever gotten," Morgan said.
"Happy Mother's Day," Greg said as he gave Morgan a sweet kiss on th the lips.
Greta and Jackson came back in and climbed back on the bed. "Pwetty!" Greta said when she looked at the flowers.
"I told you she'd like them," Jackson said as he gave Morgan the card he made for her.
"Baba right!" Greta said as she took a bite of strawberry from the fruit salad. "And you good cook, too!"
Everyone smiled at the sweet girl and enjoyed breakfast. It was truly a wonderful Mother's Day.
The End
