Chapter 5

"Do you need help with the dishes?" Damon asked as Elena put down the plate she was working on and smiled at him.

"Sure." She answered smiling as he came up to help her.

"I'm sorry." He blurted out a deep-set blush settling on his cheeks.

"For what?"

"For the way I've been acting. You're the innocent one in this situation and I've been nothing but unkind to you for the past couple of days so I'm sorry about that."

"I'm not sure why you're acting the way you are, but I am thankful for the apology. So thank you."

Smiling Damon pulled Elena closer smelling the clean scent of her hair as he inhaled the lovely scent. He could tell why the other Damon loved her so much.

"I want to make it up to you. How about I take you on a real date sometime?"

"What do you have in mind?"

"I was thinking of having a weekend for two at that ski resort we liked so much when we first started dating. How does that sound?"

"Like heaven." She smiled giving him a small kiss.

"I'll go make the arrangements then." Damon replied giving her cheek a kiss looking forward to the weekend ahead.
